A longtime, family-operated Greek favorite known for lamb chops, saganaki, and generous combo platters. Featured by Dallas Observer’s food writers, it’s BYOB, friendly, and remarkably consistent for classic Greek comfort.

A bit of a wait, but totally worth it. Staff was friendly, food didn't take long, and everything tasted fresh. The restaurant is BYOB for a small cork fee, make sure to take advantage of that. We didn't have dessert, but we'll definitely be back to try that baklava that looked amazing.

Google
A very nice place to have a dinner, lunch to celebrate anything. The place is amazing and the food is excellent! Calamari are delicious. Gyros and Greek salad are great. The atmosphere is excellent, you really enjoy being there. Unfortunately we couldn't try everything and we also miss the desserts. We were satisfied... but we'll come back and try another delicious dishes in Platia Greek Kouzina. Deeply recommend.

Google
This was a great restaurant. From the moment we sat down until we left, we were treated like welcomed family in a relative's home and the food was amazing. If you’re looking for great authentic Greek food outside of Greece then I highly recommend.

Google
Love the food here at this place! The only thing that prevented me from giving all 5 stars is service. The staff is super nice but they are not very attentive. I've been here twice and both times, it was hard to flag anyone down to order more food. They kind of disappear once your first order arrives.

Google
I didn’t know what to expect here, to my surprise it was amazingly good! You need to get there before 5:30 on a weekend in order to be seated with no wait! We had the fried calamari and it was a huge portion and the pieces were big too and very crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside! We also order the Gyros Platter which was huge and tasty! Now if you get extra naan bread, there’s an extra charge of $1.25 which was not too bad at all! The Braised Lamb Shank was really soft and the meat falls off the bone, it’s only available Friday and Saturday after 5 pm! I would definitely go back!

Google
Really great Greek food in a casual restaurant with pleasant and very welcoming service. When we come to eat, we are welcomed with a warm and friendly smile and atmosphere. The traditional and chicken gyros are outstanding with great pita and tzatziki. The Greek and Greek Village salads are also terrific. And for dessert - Sally’s Torte. This has become our favorite regular lunch spot and we highly recommend Platia! Special thanks to Fay, Aliona, Cuddi, and Hugo!

Google
The Saginaki was delicious; it was different then I've had before, it had a very light breading to help it hold it's shaped. The pita bread was melt in my mouth fabulous. You won't be disappointed with this cheese, my only "complaint" was I wish it had more lemon juice on it - i like to soak the juice up with the pita and spread the cheese on for that little extra zing, but it was still delicious! I had the gyro salad which also was yummy. I wasn't room sure about the pink dressing but it grew on me as I ate and after I finished the Tzatziki dressing. Be aware the olives had the pits in them and it caught me by surprise, but was able to pull it out of my mouth before I swallowed them. Service was amazing. I went at lunch by myself. My server was just perfect in attending to me but also allowing me time to enjoy my meal and get some reading done. I also got a baklava to go to share at home later. I would 100% eat here again and tell a friend. My husband doesn't particularly like Greek food so I was very happy I took advantage of my afternoon alone while he was at a conference to stop in and enjoy this gem.

We went to Platia for a team outing. We ordered the Chicken and Lamb souvalaki. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. Service was quick and friendly even during lunch time.

Yelp
The food, service, ambiance, and décor of the restaurant is first class. We were there midafternoon. The restaurant was packed. We had about a 20-minute wait to get a table. Our server was Haley G. according to the receipt. Very good service. The menu can be found online. Appetizers first, Feta and Olives and the Tria of Dips. Feta and Olives, simple feta and olives, no more description needed. For the dips Skordalia, Revithosalata (Hummus), and Tzatziki. The dip sampler is served with a generous amount of pita wedges. The Skordalia was the weak player on the platter. Very little flavor. Pick something else. My wife and daughter had the Haddock with Fasolakia, (Greek-style green beans) and the Greek potatoes. I did not hear any complaints. I had the Lamb Souvlaki, fries and the Fasolakia. The Flame broiled lamb medallions were wonderful. Tender juicy flavorful delicious with Tzatziki for dipping. Fries average. I learned that the Greek green beans are not for me. Tomatoes, green beans, a little sugar, and lots of oil. Salad next time.

Yelp
Went to see my family who's local down here. Also met my brother who's from home. We stopped for lunch. Place gets high marks from me. I wanted a greek salad, I wanted proteins, but didn't feel like Gyro's on the salad. Our server suggested a small greek salad with a couple of skewers of lamb on top. Fantastic! Somehow she intuitively knew what I wanted, before I did. Came with a side of slivered pita wedges. Hit the spot! My group was very happy with the service & the quality of food. In a shopping center. Place isnt overly large, but they do have outdoor seating. Parking is shared with other businesses. Top shelf place . Fab!

Yelp
I won't lie, I didn't have high hopes for a Greek place in a shopping center but I was looking for a healthy lunch and figured it was worth a shot. I'm glad I went in! I got the gyros salad. It was a hefty meal, full of fresh vegetables, tender gyro meat, and a creamy tzatziki. I left incredibly full and more importantly, satisfied. The service was fast and attentive. If I lived in the area I'd come back to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! I am Greek so I loved that food tastes like back home! I did confirm that the owner is Greek. Food and atmosphere including music looks very authentic! Service is pleasant and super fast! Must try if you'd like some good Greek food in DFW
google avatar

Catrina B.

Yelp
The food is excellent - perfect when your husband wants a gyro but you want to sit down and enjoy your meal without counter service. My biggest complaint is the acoustic are terrible - concrete floors + loud (Greek) music = we definitely had to sit side by side to have a conversation. Aside from that, the food itself was delicious - I especially enjoyed the Greek salad and stuffed pepper. The lentil soup wasn't anything special and I'd skip it next time. I didn't get pictures but the rice pudding was a perfect not-too-sweet ending to our meal. We'll definitely be returning! Check this out as an alternative to all of the chains around Stonebriar.

Yelp
Gyros are hands down the best in the area served in an ambience that takes you to Greece. Lunch or dinner service is exceptional and you definitely want to save room for chocolate cake. Their Sokolatina has layers of feather light chocolate cake and chocolate whipped cream topped with dark chocolate ganache. It is out of this world!
google avatar

Richard T.

Yelp
Food was dry, Saginaki tasted different than Detroit style. Very crowded seating where you feel like you're crammed into the corner no matter where you sit. Drink was flat. Won't return.
google avatar

Yelp
It is my go to place to enjoy my vice of eating calamari! I pretty much love everything on their menu.. recently tried fish and a dude of Lima beans which was some of the best I had

Yelp
This is now my go-to Greek restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm, welcoming atmosphere and attentive service. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure every detail was perfect throughout my meal. I ordered the gyro platter, and it was absolutely fantastic--it reminded me of the delicious gyros I used to get back in Chicago. The meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, the tzatziki was fresh and tangy, and the pita was soft and warm. Every bite was a burst of authentic Greek flavors that transported me right back to the Mediterranean. The portions were generous, and everything tasted incredibly fresh, which made the experience even better. I would rate this place a 1000 out of 10 and can't wait to come back and try more dishes!

Yelp
Platia did not disappoint. My table of three loved our dinner. I had the Mana Mou (spelling is probably off) variety selection plate. It was super yummy. However, the oil from the various foods really spread throughout the dish. When I return to eat at this restaurant, I will stick to a normal entree place rather than the specialty combination platters. With the addition of the two sides, it should be enough variety. Service was fast - we were in and out in about an hour.
google avatar

Daniel M.

Yelp
We have eaten here one time so far and the food was excellent. I'll be coming back for more when I get a chance. Service was also really good. I like the ambience and the small room we sat in wasn't extremely loud like some of the bigger places.

Yelp
Came here with a girlfriend and sat on the patio. It was around 11:15am on Saturday. We were the only ones on the coveted patio. It was a warm day, but the wind and fans inside the patio kept it bearable. Ordered the frappe, delicious. I requested it be made sweet, as that was an option. Ordered the spanikopita and the eggplat/garlic dip. Loved both. The dip was packed with garlic and their pita bread is very soft. My gf ordered the combo platter woth chicken. We enjoyed the dolemas and Greek style green beans! Would love to return and try other dips.

Mark M.

Yelp
It's not actually Greece. Not many places around Dallas are... But the food is pretty close!

Colin H.

Yelp
Food is so good! Very comfortable dining room, great service, and great prices! Definitely a quick favorite in town. And I'm not a gyro fan, but my significant other said it was bomb!

M B.

Yelp
Great food, great service. Will go there again. We had the sampler platter and everything was good. Baklava was a little dry, but that's our only complaint.

D L.

Yelp
Havent been here in a few years and it never disappoints! Service is good, food is excellent and prices remain reasonable. Casual, lively atmosphere. I always get the Manu Mao but forgot to snap a pic as I was so hungry! We also had the hummus - always so flavorful. Pita melts in your mouth. Only the Aegean pepper made the photo roll. We always order this, my husbands absolute favorite.
google avatar

May G.

Yelp
I got lamb skewers and my bf got the chicken skewers. The lamb skewers were tough and not tender. When it wasn't warm, it was too tough to chew through. The green beans were yummy. The potato was alright. The chicken skewers were dry.

Yelp
I discovered this family owned Greek oasis by accident trying to exit Stonebriar Mall. What an amazing find!!! I grew up working for several Greek family restaurants but this food is by far the best Greek restaurant in the area (maybe Texas)! Brizola skirt steak on top of their amazing Greek salad, must have every week! Very addictive, I eat one there and get one for take out! Greek salad dressing and Tzatziki are the best I've ever had thus far! Pictures will be posted later, always to excited to wait.
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Unfortunately I don't have pics because we did a to go order. But in this short and quick review I need to state my feelings about this place. It is hands down one of the best restaurants I have tried in the area recently. Pleeeeeeeae do yourself a favor and try it out. I definitely recommend was not disappointed and I hope you are not either!!

lourdes g.

Yelp
Food and service was excellent. The lamb was tender and flavorful. The tzatziki was extremely good. We couldn't decide on desert so we ordered 2. They were huge and had to take one home. We enjoyed the baklava with Ice cream It was a hit! We forgot to take a pic of our main meal. Cannot wait to return and try other things on the menu.

Yelp
Big fans of Greek/Mediterranean and Platia is consistently the best we've found in the west Plano area. Their two combo plates are our go to order so we can have a taste of everything. The Yia Yia Mou is vegetarian - dolmas, spanakopita, hummus /pita and the most perfectly crunchy/tender/flavorful falafels + tzatziki. The Mana Mou includes perfect gyro meat, chicken souvlaki (kebab) that is so well flavored, pastitsio (kinda similar to a meat lasagna, but different!) and dolmades (like a dolma but stuffed with seasoned ground beef rather than rice), hummus/pita/tzatziki. The combos and entrees include two sides, all very good. And do not sleep on their desserts!!! Believe we've tried and loved them all

Carley H.

Yelp
This place is perfect if you authentic Greek food. Atmosphere is welcoming and our waitress was very friendly. We ordered the Dolmades and they were almost exactly the way my dad makes them (I asked for the sauce on the side). They were so good, I ordered one to go to snack on later that evening. The spanakopita was flavorful and crispy. The Brizola steak and Greek potatoes were cooked perfectly. Will absolutely be back to this wonderful place.
google avatar

Yelp
Suspect here, pay close attention to the prices. Food was delicious but the pricing is honestly unfair for what a customer gets.
google avatar

Thu N.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised. Place was super busy for lunch on Wednesday. I was seated promptly. Service was in and out. They don't serve wine but you can bring your own bottle in and it's $3.50 cork fee. I had ordered the lamb chops (from Nee Zealand) and was informed they were out. My server Hugo offered the lamb medallions dish. The lamb medallions were served with green beans and lima beans. I cleaned my plate! Haven't done that in a while. I would love to try their lamb shank, which is served only on Fridays and Saturdays. I can't wait to go back and bring my hubby.
google avatar

Yelp
Randomly came here because my boyfriend and I were in the mood for Greek food and I loooved it. 1st- the calamari is my absolute favorite! Their HUGE and well seasoned. Sooo good. Must try for sure. I absolutely love Moussaka and it was amazing. So thick and hearty with so many layers of flavor. The food came out fast and our water was so nice. Love this place and will be coming back again.
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite Greek place in frisco and north Dallas. I'm in love with yia yias kota as well as any of their appetizers. It's all well seasoned. Their location has a slightly cramped inside but with the outdoor seating, you can pick what you want.
google avatar

Von M.

Yelp
Pleasant staff, good food. I had the gyro platter. It comes with 2 sides, I had the green beans and rice, and some pita. It was just the right amount of food for me.
google avatar

Cassandra R.

Yelp
I've been to Platia once for lunch with a friend and then again last weekend on Mothers Day with a group of 8. We were served in a timely manner with clear communication. Look at that gyros platter. It's so much food. So much meat! Their fries are my favorite style: squared, thick and potatoey. Last time I got a Greek salad and fries but this time I opted for the green beans in red sauce (yum) and fries (obviously). Their baklava is two regular size triangles and it is chefs kiss delicious. For a "proper" Greek meal that isn't fast food, this is your place!
google avatar

Jerri B.

Yelp
Best gyros in the metroplex. Good service. Close to Stonebriar Mall in Frisco. They offer sides of Greek potatoes, fries, salad. BYOB $3 bottle charge.
google avatar

Guy H.

Yelp
If you imagined going home to visit family in Greece, this food describes what you would find. This is as close to Greek Style home cooking as I've ever experienced. There are plenty of choices including lamb, chicken and fish. Satisfying sides with a Greek flair. Specialty deserts. It's a comfortable atmosphere with great service, good prices and a fully engaged owner. Bring your own bottle Relax Enjoy

Yelp
Smallish place, in a large mall in Frisco, Texas, north end of the Dallas metro area, and a very nice city. There are outdoor seating options, to include a patio section. A small section inside the main dining room is partitioned. The acoustics make conversations a bit loud here, but it is still enjoyable. Staff is excellent, it appears to all be the same family. They really care about your comfort, and dining experience. The menu has Greek names, and English language names for dishes. Many cuts of meat are served here, be sure you are ordering what you like. Fish & Octopus also! Dips with small pita bread slices make a great appetizer. If you cannot decide which dip (tzatziki or hummus) you can get All 3 dips in 1 order. Today, I had a light lunch of Fasolakia: whole green beans stewed in a lightly herbed tomato & olive oil sauce. This is so savory, you could eat a pound of green beans! Good for you too! Greek Fries, with herbed Feta cheese crumbles... anybody would eat these nonstop! Like Lay's potato chips, but even better! Avgolemono is a shredded chicken breast meat, and plump white rice soup, with a very light lemon zest added to the creamy broth. Avgo-lemon-o tells you the lemon is in there, and a good contrast to other dishes. Chicken soup is good for your soul. Opa! Yamas!

Yelp
Food- amazing taste, fresh, hummus was awesome, chicken, gyros, it was all good. Loved the Greek salad. Atmosphere-the porch area, super super cute. Staff- professional and on top of everything. Would highly highly recommend.

Yelp
I've heard great things about this place, so I was very excited to try it. The staff is prompt and nice. The ambiance is minimalist but nice and very clean. We ordered a gyro and the Pastitsio. Food wasn't bad but it just didn't hit the spot for me.

Svetik B.

Yelp
The best place to eat with great ambience and amazing food! The best Greek salad in town!
google avatar

Alyssa A.

Yelp
We just happened upon this gem. Fabulous fresh Greek cuisine. Amazing portions, you will not leave hungry. Service was on point. We can't say enough great things about our first visit. We will be back for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
As a long time suburban Chicago resident we really wanted to love this place. Im a bit more of the takeout type hotdog and gyro shop like service but not mad about sit down service. The dining room as packed and the atmosphere warm and inviting. What I couldn't overlook was the details of the food that may just be personal preference but that's what we are on here for right? First off the food was not hot. I want everything fresh and hot and it just didn't feel like it was. The tzatziki sauce needed more garlic and flavor - it should be the best part and beg to have it drizzled on everything and a dip for everything on the table and this version missed the mark. The meat was dry but abundant so it could have been worse. A solid average option for Greek food but still searching for the perfect gyro spot...

Jessica C.

Yelp
Food was absolutely incredible! Our waiter did an amazing job with recommending things, and was very responsive and attentive. Love this place and will for sure be back!
google avatar

Nicole R.

Yelp
We live over an hour away and we were in town last weekend for an event. We love Greek food so tried Platia. I am certain my entire family would agree this was some of the best we've had! Not only were the individual dishes delicious, we also really loved the appetizers we ordered. We always order calamari when we can and this was one of the best ones we had as well. The staff was friendly from the front door to the waiters. The busser was fast. The space is decent and very nicely decorated. We actually had to come back for another event in 1 week and ate there again! We can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
THE best Greek food around! Took a couple whose Mom had come from Greece. He knew every item on the menu. His Mom & Grandmother used to make all the items. We all tried a bite, ( more than 1 bite) of all he ordered. Wonderful and habit forming. There is always a line to get in on the weekend. The service is impeccable, our waiter, Greek himself, enjoyed our company almost as much as we valued him. (Sorry forgotten name), The food was delivered hot and beautifully placed. There is not an item on the menu we didn't try. Incredible!! However, it's a tiny bit loud, so a first date...we leave that up to you. If you are looking for authentic...you have found it.
google avatar

Yelp
A good casual family restaurant. Be prepared to wait because it is busy! My friend and I came at 6pm on a Friday night and the restaurant was full. Luckily we didn't have to wait too long, after coming up to the stand to put our name on the list, we were seated less than 30 minutes later. I'm not sure how that wait differs for larger groups, but they do seem to seat in order rather than group size. Because they're so busy, the service isn't necessarily the most attentive, but they are quick. The prices are a bit higher than I expected, but they serve big, meat-dominated portions. I got the Gyro platter with a side of rice and fries. The rice was delicious and flavorful, the fries were average. I wish it came with a bit more tomatoes and onions! I also tried some of the Pastitsio on my friend's Mana Mou plate. Very creamy and bit a bland, seems to be a great choice to order for kids. This place is definitely worth a try, especially if you're looking for a meal that offers a hefty amount of leftovers!

Yelp
Wanted to try this restaurant for a while and glad I came hungry. I love Greek cuisine and would like to try every dish on that menu. I ordered the trio of dips (tzatziki, eggplant, and and whipped feta with pepper) and a lamb souvlaki sandwich and they didn't disappoint. My kids had chicken tenders with fries and declared they were among the best ones they've ever had. Small-ish dining room was completely full at 5pm, and the staff was very helpful and entertaining flambéing meet. Would definitely come back, I haven't had any space left for dessert and I'm a sucker for baklava.

Yelp
Ktapodi 3/5 when I ordered, I was expecting the grilled octopus to not be sour, but this is sour tasting (maybe that's normal, it's my first time trying Greek grilled octopus, I'm used to the ones sold in Italy and Croatia) but the price is $16.95 which is steep. Gyros 5/5 Can't ask for better tasting gyros or deal. It's very fulfilling. Sparkling water 3/5 Uh, it just came from the bottle, so what can I say? Just regular tasting. Service 5/5 Impeccable

Yelp
One of our final visits to one of our favorite Frisco restaurants, Platia's didn't disappoint, once we were seated. Waiting was much longer than usual. Quoted 30 mins, the wait was longer, but not much. A foursome near us had an hour wait. Still getting five stars tells the story the rest of the way. We splurged by getting both the dolmas yialantzi and the dolmades. They're both so different, yet so fantastic. My wife finally tried the lamb shank. She's only been talking about it for the last 15+ years we've been coming here. Luckily, she wasn't disappointed. There wasn't a ton of meat, but she thought the flavor was wonderful. I went with the Brizola steak, because, yeah, I need more difficult decisions to make when coming here. It was one of the better strip steaks I've ever had, and I wouldn't hesitate getting it again. Add that to the snapper, haddock, and of course the gyro platter. You won't be disappointed. Service was spot on. Hopefully one more trip here before we go go.

Yelp
Had been meaning to try Platia for a long time and finally made my way over last Saturday for lunch with my sister. We had a very hard time choosing because everything looked so good but decided on a vegetarian sampler platter, ocotpus, saganaki, and hummus. It was all very delicious and we left so stuffed with some leftovers. Our waiter was super nice and great about answering our questions. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
This place was very crowded on a Friday night, which means the restaurant is thriving! I got the The Mana Mou (pastitsio, dolmades, chicken souvlaki, gyros, tzatziki and pita bread) with sides of Greek potatoes and rice. All were nothing short of Phenomenal. Perfectly cooked. Quality off the charts. Not overly seasoned. ABSOLUTELY Delicious! With countless Zagat awards on display, this is the best food I have eaten in years. That is not something to be taken lightly! This may very well literally be the best restaurant in Frisco. Brilliance! A true masterclass.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was decedent, service was incredible. Anne and Faye were amazing! We were thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food.

Yelp
This little gem is tucked away deep in a suburban shopping plaza, but once you get there you are in the Greek isles. The patio on a clear day is serene and the interior has homey antiques. The service is always friendly and informative, allergens are easily avoidable. Now for the food, pick anything. No BS, I've eaten up and down and around that menu and it's all good. Sadly the octopadi greek leafy salad is off the menu, I hope it returns soon.

Yelp
Always the BEST! Owner, staff, and service by both are exceptional! Food has been consistently 5Star for 12 years!
