Platte River Bar and Grill

Met up with some friends who had relocated, so we had a larger party of ten on a Sunday afternoon. Our table was lovely and in a semi open air area of the rooftop bar. Service was attentive, accutate, friendly and in one word...awesome! The food was delicious and exactly as described on the menu, which had many, many options. We spent 2 hours there enjoying well missed friendships and celebrating the opportunity to reconnect over a good meal and atmosphere.

Chips and salsa are excellent. The salsa is refreshing and the lightly salted corn chips are extremely tasty. I got the two burrito lunch special and it tastes amazing The chicken is well balanced, not too dry not too moist. The guac filled me up and is superb! I would definitely come back here! 😁

Hey there! If you’re in the area, you have to check out Platte River bar and grill. It’s a great place to grab lunch. We stopped by on our way to Platte River Greenway, and it’s right next to the greenway, off Santa Fe. The atmosphere is super cool, and there’s a huge outdoor deck. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the deck is super comfortable, even on hot days. Plus, there’s an entrance to the greenway right there! The food is typical bar food, but it’s tasty and served well. I had the patty melt, which was a bit bland, but it was well-made. My wife had buffalo wings, and she loved them! If you’re in the area, I highly recommend you stop by. Relax, have a drink, and enjoy some good food. You won’t regret it!

Honestly it was a great experience. The patio is a great place to hang out and the staff was very friendly, I interacted with about 4 staff members. My server Chris was a superstar. Food came quick and so did the check, just the way I like it. Good music playing on the speakers, too.

Born and raised Floridian that loved the mountains more than the ocean. Anyhow since moving here in 2019, I haven’t found a place that gave me that beachside atmosphere but in the mountains. That outdoor space with music, great food and a fun stuff. I found it here at the Platte River Grill, 100% bringing everyone I know here. Definitely my place to come to now. P.S. Abby was the best server!

Haven’t been in long time… Good to be back 😃 Stopped in for lunch and pleasantly surprised wasn’t crazy busy.. Audry A greeted me as soon as she saw me. Very nice and had great conversation throughout my awesome Hatch chili burger cooked perfectly. Side of sweet potato fries over cooked but finished the order with a smile. Audry was an afternoon joy to chat with. Her food recommendations were on spot. Everyone had a smile and inviting. Head on over and try the Hatch chili burger I give it a 10+ fantastic!!!!! Big burger too👍🏽

They have a great patio with 3 levels. It's a good atmosphere. Food is bigger but a little expensive. My favorite is the Pancharita is a great drink.

Great deck seating, lots of friendly service. Love the location is accessible from the bike trails! Pup friendly, we rode bikes along the river and enjoyed the deck on a beautiful day. Loved the big margarita with a coronita!

Food was fast and delicious and our service was amazing with Ms.Annie! Live band on patio.

We had a great time today listening to live music and relaxing on the patio. Service was outstanding! We only had a few apps but they were delicious. You can tell the portion size meets their prices so don't be shy! The patio was shaded and with the breeze it made 90 degree temps not feel so swampy. We can't wait to come back!

The big deck is the best. After riding bikes we like to drop in for some live music and a bite to eat. Shared the nachos today and margaritas are a must. Such a good vibe

This place was terrible the drinks were flat the smell of the place smelled like smoke. The food was something you got out of a high school cafeteria in the 80's I would not recommend this place. The prices too high for what you get.

Came with family and we asked to site outside because it was such a wonderful day and the weather was beautiful. We were led out to their huge outdoor patio and seated in an area that overlooks the parking lot, the trail head for the path along the South Platte River. The inside of this restaurant is so fun with seats created out of car parts, like the tail lights, the grill, etc. We are glad we chose to sit outside. Server was Billy, who was so personable and we thank him for his great service! The two alcoholic drinks ordered were the spicy bloody Mary and the Modelita Michelada, which both people raved about! We also ordered the chips and salsa and a bowl of the Queso, both of which were fresh, just the right amount of spice, and so good! We came for lunch and dishes ordered included the Smothered Chicken & Bean Burrito. It was huge and filled with lots of chicken and beans and covered with a great green pork chili sauce. I thought it was a bit spicy but everyone else loved it! Also had the chicken Caesar wrap, the taco plate, and I had the patty melt. Everyone raved and I posted pictures. My patty melt was so good, with lots of cheese and grilled onions and I asked for the thousand island on the side and asked for yellow mustard because that's what I love to dip my melt in! Also got the tots, which were fried to toasty perfection. A fantastic patty melt. We also ordered the kids mac and cheese and our kiddo loved it! Looked like Kraft Mac & Cheese but she loved it! While we were there, there was a live band setting up. They were great to the kids who were hanging around checking things out. What a fun place with great food!

Nice atmosphere and great service. Get a car booth for more fun. Los of choices for food. Wish there was a little more for gluten-free options.

Arrived at opening, greeted quickly and seated promptly. Our service was perfect and the ambiance quiet and comfortable. However we were all less than enamored with the food. There were plenty of selections but we all seemed to gravitate to the lunch special which gave the options of taco, tostado and burrito. (2 of them) Meh... this could have been a fast food restaurant with the quality of the food. The lettuce tasted as though it had been cut the night before- ---/small portions-----disappointing. Here we thought ordering the 2 item combo we would have some leftovers. Not the case. We decided we won't be back.

I like this place. It's friendly, unassuming, and a great place to meet friends for a beer and/or dinner. Our waitress was friendly and happy to split the bill four ways for us. I had a steak fajita burrito, and the steak was better than I expected: it was lean, well-seasoned, and tender.

Though this place was busy on a Wednesday at lunch, they were definitely quick and attentive to our larger party. One of the couples frequented Platte River so I went with their burger suggestion. My burger had the perfect amount of sweet and spicy. I wish the patty would have been a tad larger to stand up to all the toppings but otherwise it was a great burger for a great price.

We love coming here and sitting on the expansive outdoor patio. It is very close to the Platte river and is absolutely lovely. One of the best patios in the city.

Rounding up from a 3.5. Service and ambiance are great. Huge space, lots of TVs, amazing patios - would be a great spot to watch a game. Food was average but we might have ordered wrong. Would definitely give it another try though!

The deck, sports on TV and some live music are the biggest redeeming qualities . The food is average and the service is poor. Servers seem to talk to their regulars and then wait on tables out of order being seated. 20 minutes till we were waited on and one waiter just visited with his table. Piss poor. Come for the view and getting over served if you like getting drunk.

Great place for lunch especially when the weather is nice! Food is good, great entertainment. Service is good as well!

This is the spot if you want to meet up with friends, listen to music, drink some beers and relax. The food is good but I wouldn't say it's anything mind blowing. I got their Turkey bacon wrap and really enjoyed it. It can get busy on weekends and evenings so be aware there may be a wait, but they do try to get you in quickly.

Great food and service. Went to this for an event and was over-sold, but the service and food did NOT suffer! Great place!

Margaritas were a great size. Food was good and the waitress was delightful. We will return in the future.

I have been going to this place for years, ever since I moved to Denver 16 years ago. I hadn't been in a while though and suggested we enjoy the patio when some relatives came in from out of town. I read the most recent reviews (within the last year) and there were a ton of negative ones about poor service, bad drinks, and some rodents on the patio. I will say, I was shocked to read these. First of all this patio backs up to the green belt, the Platte River and a bunch of beautiful trees and some wildlife. I am sure it would be extremely difficult to keep rid of any mice. I personally haven't seen anything but I could see how that happens. I have never had anything short of great service here. Including last night. I honestly cannot remember the server's name, but she had long black hair, a cool Colorado flag/heart tattoo on her arm and was a fantastic server. She was funny, quick and had a great personality. No waiting 20 minutes for drinks with her. We all got various margaritas and all of them were delicious. No complaints. I will also say that this place holds a piece of my heart. It was where my husband and I had out first date 15 years ago and where we got engaged also. But aside from that my review still stays the same. Great patio with a ton of space and seating. They expanded the inside and it now has more space for seating. The menu is pretty large with something for anyone's tastebuds. They have a great green chile! Overall I highly recommend this place and will continue to keep going back.

Live music is pretty awesome! We had to sit indoors which was fine as we didn't call ahead for a fairly large party. Food is just OK margaritas are phenomenal!! Various events always happening!

Hang out bar. Quite crowded. Burgers were okay, but very pricey. $60 for two cheese burgers and iced tea. Not a place I would visit again.

Rude service. "I've been here 30 years" and clearly that's too long. The older lady server was brusque and ill spoken. I guess some people might find it "cute" in a Flo kinda way. But it ruined my experience at a pretty cool restaurant. She "honeyed" me a few times with a tone that clearly was not very nice. Won't be coming back.

The food was great tasting, good variety on menu. This is a fun location to visit and amazing set up for a birthday party. The service gets 10 stars, I doubt I have ever had a better waitress. She was on top of everything and so friendly. We had a big table and literally provided service like a table for 2.

the food was amazing but our server was too notch!!! she was so sweet and helpful!! i wish i could remember her name. she had a braid in her hair and we were in the way back patio with our daughters!! she was a rockstar we will be back because of her!!!

The patio is such an amazing place to spend a summer night! The staff is super nice and you can't beat on Wednesdays they have a wing special!

I am rating this restaurant 5 stars due to the service and ambiance. Plenty of parking and easy to access. We stopped by on a Sunday and they had a live band playing. We asked to be seated outdoors and they have such a large deck with beautiful views. Umbrellas for shade if you need it. We order a burger and onion rings and a grilled chicken buffalo sandwich with French fries. The burger and chicken sandwich were ok. The onion rings and fries were cooked to a perfect crispness! The onion rings were also breaded lightly and non greasy which I love. They had rotating draft beers but also have regulars on the menu. I was happy to see they had Breck Palisade peach! Our sever was so attentive and pleasant! The band was lively and fun!

I've been going here for years! I had my college graduation here, my 21st and 25th birthday were here, it's always been amazing! Friendly staff, great drinks (gummy bear shot is the best), and just a great vibe overall!

Crazy reading all these reviews with only 4 star ratings, this place deserves a 6. The Philly was immaculate, the turkey wrap was the best my bf has ever had he said he's taking home to eat later to experience joy for a second time. Our waiter Tony needs a raise. When I asked for mayo he brought me the whole bottle. I went crazy with it.

Used to love this place. Went in Tuesday evening very very sparse crowd. Couldn't get anyone to serve me. Walked out disappointed. Went back Thursday a bit busier, but not crazy same result.. Lost my business found a better, cheaper and better atmosphere place. You go into an establishment you expect a certain degree of service. No to be ignored!!!

If only they would have decent food we would come more often. Now before we come we go we eat somewhere else. Amazing location and a great Bar but dam they need to step up their food in a big way.

I've been eating here forever. I love the food and the servers are always friendly. It's always really loud in there, so it's hard to have a conversation, but I guess that's to be expected from a bar. I prefer it in the summer so that you can sit on the patio, which is amazing. I like the mini chili rellenos. On the HH menu they also have tacos that are in fried flour tortillas which was heavenly.

Great atmosphere on the patio with great views. Very relaxing. Great choice of music. Kid friendly. The food was tasty and fresh. The drinks are really good. Amazing service from everyone but if you get a chance to sit in Tony's section, you will love him. He really friendly and will make your experience ten times better. Enjoy.

After church, my husband and I went to Platte River Bar & Grill for lunch. We wanted to listen to live music and Platte River has a great deck that features live music. It was a lovely day, so we decided to go, eat, have some drinks and listen to the music. We started with Queso which was really good. I got the Mexican hamburger which is a burger wrapped in a flour tortilla with refried beans and smothered in green chili. I substituted the fries for Spanish rice. I kinda regretted that later as the rice tasted kinda old and dried out. My husband got the taco plate which came with 2 tacos, beans and rice. I also had a couple of their house Margarita's. The food was decent but not overwhelming. But we had a great time and we had great service. I would definitely go back.

On Labor Day I got off of work early and felt like I wanted to dine out somewhere. The weather was nice and I was leaning toward a place with outdoor seating. Platte River Bar & Grill was a place we wanted to try. I called about seating and they said there were open tables on the deck. Perfect! Once I got there I realized why on a holiday there were open tables... the raised deck is HUGE! Yet it doesn't feel like a big deck. They've done a great job of laying it out so it feels cozy. There are many different areas to sit at this place. There are tables right as you enter. These are the ones with seats that look like the back of old cars. If you go to the left from the front dining area, you can sit at a bar, or when you enter the restaurant you can go to the right and sit at the indoor tables that are in an L-shaped room There's another bar in this room where you can sit, but it's not the ideal sitting area because you'll get traffic coming to and from the entrance to the outside deck. If you want to sit outside, you can access the patio from the L-shaped dining room. There is a main section of the deck, but that's only half the deck seating. in one corner there is a raised deck. This becomes the stage when live music is performed. There is another back deck that is somewhat separated and perfect for private parties and you're still close enough to hear the live music. For dinner, I tried the taco salad with shredded chicken. They were very generous with the chicken and everything was fresh and tasty. Our server was busy but still managed to be friendly and attentive. All in all it was a very enjoyable time and I can see becoming a regular here. NOTE: I would have given it 5 stars but as we were leaving one of the two front entrance doors that had a large sign across the top that said "This door to remain unlocked during business hours." was locked.

The food is usually top notch. In addition, they have great local band on the weekends.

I had the pleasure of being served by Danielle P. during my recent visit to your restaurant, and I must say that she went above and beyond in providing exceptional service. Despite being incredibly busy, she greeted me with a charming smile and made me feel welcome and valued as a customer. Danielle was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and always made sure that I had everything I needed throughout my meal. Her warm and friendly demeanor truly enhanced my overall dining experience. Although the food was delicious, it was Danielle's excellent service that truly stood out to me. I will definitely be back to dine at your restaurant, and I will specifically request to be seated in her section. Please pass along my sincerest thanks to Danielle for her outstanding hospitality. Every time I venture into the Platte River I try a new item from their menu and am blown away, every thing is fan-f%€kng-tastic. The energy and service is what you'd expect and both tie into the vibe of the entire place. A little gritty, country, biker bar ascetic. Love the Platte.

Went again specifically for my favorite French Dip, they took it off the menu and only now has it as a special on Thurs?! If it isn't broken, don't fix it! But, I do love this place regardless, plenty of outside seating, dog friendly, and live music on certain days. When my mother comes down from the Western slope we always stop by.

Great deck. Great place to hang out for snacks and a beer and watch a band play. Did see some mice creeping around the edges of the deck, though.

The Cheers of Littleton, Colorado. Platte River Bar and Grill is an oldie but goodie. It has the biggest DECK in town for a reason. ;) There's always going to be some growing pains as business and times change but through it all the veteran FOH, BOH, and management team continue to strive to provide the best experience for the OG patrons and fresh faces alike by taking pride in everything they do and taking the time to train the fresh fishies to abide by the same core values. So, if you're ready for a good night bring your appetite and sit tight until we say goodnight at The Platte River Bar and Grill. See y'all on our big deck soon! :)

The back patio is great. The food was delish and the serve staff is fun and welcoming. A terrific choice.

All I'm going to say is read the other reviews. They are low for a reason. We ordered chips and queso and at the restaurant and they only brought us a bowl of queso. No chips. It took about 10- 15 mins to hunt someone down to bring us chips. Now obv this is kind of funny but also what was the server thinking

I've tried to come to this place twice now. It looks like such a neat spot right off the trail and conveniently located off Santa Fe. Every time the service is some of the worst I've had in Denver. The second time we gave it a try, the host sat us outside in the rain and then we tried to open up an umbrella to make do as we saw another table do the same, the server who hadn't come by to even greet us in the ten minutes we had been seated turned around abruptly and loudly scolded us. It was so rude and she made no comment to the other two tables who had done so. We took our wet selves and just left. The first time we were pretty sure our server just forgot about us entirely, we had to go looking for her after our plates had been empty and drinks as well for 30 minutes. Not to mention the food is not great. I got a burger and my fries were cold and my boyfriend got a buffalo chicken wrap that had a 10:1 lettuce to chicken ratio. He was still hungry when we left. This is such a bummer because I'd love to see this place do well, it has so much potential! I just feel unwelcome and unsatisfied during every visit.

My husband and I have come here twice now and we already can't wait to return! We had a great visit both times! Once we were on the "big patio" and it really is massive! Next, we ate inside and the indoor seating is spaced nicely with a big bar area and cute car bumper booths! The prices are spot on, and that was a huge benefit considering the current market with prices these days. The food is also amazing. We enjoyed the heaping amount of sour cream and guacamole on our nachos at no extra cost! The poppers tasted like they had a nice char to it as well and paired well with the raspberry sauce. Our service both times were excellent and we enjoyed the friendliness and felt like we were regulars even though we weren't! Love that. Drinks are also stiff and affordable! Can't wait to return!

Fun and easy to access location. Lots of parking in the back. Indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside on a gorgeous day. Umbrellas available for shade. Had the bacon cheese burger with tater tots and the blueberry (vodka) lemonade. Everything was wonderful! Food was delicious! Tater tots were crispy and plentiful. Service was great!

I came here with friends for trivia on a Tuesday night and it was a blast! Definitely a great, laidback choice for first time trivia players like us. I got the taco plate with chicken tacos, which was very good. Their Sopapilla sticks dessert is also fantastic.
