The Best Vegan Restaurants in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"With multiple locations around town (and a new one opening soon in Buckhead), Playa Bowls is an easy way to score vegan and vegetarian fruit and acai bowls, fresh juices, and smoothies. Many standard bowls come topped with honey, so be sure to ask for the vegan variation." - Beth McKibben

10 Best Atlanta Restaurants on Uber Eats | Eater

"If you’re hosting your running group or yoga buddies after breaking a sweat, you’ll want to get the right food to refuel. Keep it healthy by ordering some nourishing bowls like an acai bowl with granola and fruit, a dragon fruit bowl with bananas and kiwis, or chia pudding straight to your door. Or call for a reenergizing smoothie like the Aloha, made with banana, mango, pineapple, and coconut milk." - Vox Creative

Google
I stopped in at the Playa Bowls – Beltline location, excited to finally try this franchise after a recommendation from a close friend/family member. I ordered the Coco Craze and added pineapple, kiwi, and gluten-free granola. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet my expectations. The base was too loose and soupy—I was hoping for a thicker, creamy sorbet-like texture. The kiwi was also mushy, which threw off the overall freshness I was expecting.

First time at Play Bowls and it was a good experience. Was greeted by a friendly face and bright smile. She was helpful. The prices are a little higher but the portions match the price. The atmosphere inside the store is lively and fun. Music is uptempo and the vibes are pretty cool 😎 they have a nice variety and I might come back to try something else sometime.

Always a great stop after a morning walk. The service is quick and the staff is welcoming. I love the extensive menu as well. If there is a line, it moves quickly

I recently visited Playa Bowl with one of my mentors after a long walk on the Beltline, and it was a great experience! The staff had such a high-spirited energy, which made the atmosphere really welcoming. They offer so many healthy options, which I loved. I got a smoothie, and my mentor got an acai bowl, which I got to try—it was delicious! My smoothie was super tasty and kept me full from noon until around 5 p.m. I definitely recommend Playa Bowl and can't wait to go back. A solid spot for healthy eats!

Google
I come here because it reminds me of a spot from my hometown called Soul Bowls. I always get a Dragonberry Pitaya Bowl and customize the fruit topping to my liking, so I can’t speak for the other options, but they all look great! Prices range from $8 to $16, depending on add-ons. The atmosphere is really nice, and the surrounding Beltline area has the same free spirited vibe as the shop. Just writing this review and thinking about the taste of my bowl is making me want to go back right now!

Google
I usually am always happy with my service and food but today both bases tasted horrible and like the fruit might’ve gone bad, as you can see in the first picture I’m in line with my bowl to try and make it right and I switched my base to Açaí but that was bad too. I come often so this isn’t their normal quality at all. They should disclaim if their fruit isn’t good.

Google
One of the most delicious scrumptious tantalizing satisfying heavenly treats ever 😋 that dragonberry drizzled with peanut butter and honey👍🏾 luv this place..!!

Sean Sharif

Google
I come to this location about two times a week because I live right next-door. Whenever you get an add-on for peanut butter, some servers tend to add on a minuscule amount. I asked for extra peanut butter in the server told me there would be an up charge for it and to go to the register and pay. I don’t understand why there’s a charge when I’m paying $15 for a bowl in the first place and leaving a tip. The way the situation was handled was completely unprofessional and under values a repeat customer’s business.

Yelp
I am not an Açaí bowl fan but people kept telling me to give Playa Bowls a try. Well let's just say they did not disappoint. I had the mango berry bowl and it was phenomenal. It almost didn't make it on the drive home. I cannot wait to return to try some different based and maybe even give Açaí another try! I was impressed at the freshness of the fruit on top and the size of the blueberries. The restaurant was clean and gave off tropical vibes. The staff were nice and the place was pretty empty when I visited. My bowl was ready in under 5 minutes. I will most definitely be going back soon!

Yelp
My boyfriend I stopped here during our walk on the beltline. After looking over the menu, I decided I wanted a Mucho Mango fruit bowl for the second time. However the cashier let me know they were out of everything mango flavored for the day. I quickly pivoted and ordered the Stupid Cupid special bowl that had a strawberry, banana, and coconut base and was topped with strawberries, granola, coconut, and various chocolates. While the base was cold and refreshing, I felt as though it wasn't very flavorful. The toppings definitely carried on this particular bowl. My boyfriend enjoyed the Pink Flamingo Pitaya Bowl so I'll probably order that next time. It was a nice experience eating inside the shop as they played well known Micheal Jackson songs and people watching next to the beltline.

Yelp
Gotta love Playa Bowls! Undoubtably the best place to get açaí bowls. My go-to is the Mango Berry bowl with half pitaya base and half mango base. It was a bit odd how this location has the inside of their store locked on a very hot summer day and only allowed outside orders and seating. Very conveniently located on the Beltline.

Yelp
Playa Bowl never disappoints! The Nutella açaí bowl I had was absolutely delicious, packed with fresh, vibrant ingredients that made every bite a treat. The speedy service and friendly staff made the experience even better, ensuring I didn't have to wait long to enjoy my bowl of goodness. The lively atmosphere added to the overall vibe, making it a perfect spot for a quick, refreshing snack. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
Okay so I didn't know smoothie bowls were capable of being this GOOD. I LOVE the coconut option & recently started adding Nutella! I always take out the banana & swap with strawbs. Service is always amazing! Everyone there captures the lax beach vibe & I love it. Perfect place to go if you're walking around krog on a hot day!

Yelp
Playa Bowls is always so good and their BeltLine location on Auburn is a convenient spot for those seeking a refreshing pitstop during their BeltLine adventures. Specializing in acai bowls and smoothies, this vibrant and cute spot offers a delightful menu that's hard to resist. The small size of the establishment adds to its charm, making it a perfect spot for a quick and healthy treat while enjoying the BeltLine activities--whether you're running, walking, or biking. The variety of acai bowl combinations and smoothies cater to different preferences, and I must say, I haven't had anything bad yet I will say the day I came it seemed like an ideal place to catch up on work, but the music was really too loud. A friend and I attempted to work there, and despite asking for the music to be turned down, it seemed to be a recurring issue. This may make Playa Bowls on the BeltLine more suitable for a quick grab-and-go rather than a workspace. Parking is a consideration, as you'll need to pay unless you're lucky enough to find street parking on Krog or Auburn. Unfortunately, Playa Bowls does not validate parking.

Yelp
Worth a stop! I was visiting from California and had heard about this place from a YouTube vlogger so I wanted to try, it's a chill vibe the Aci was a little sweeter than I am accustomed to, I ate everything except the Aci, I will go back upon my next visit, yes but I will try another menu item.

Yelp
Walking the belt line I craved a smoothie and gave this place a shot. The inside is decorated well and has nice artwork. They answer any and all questions. They don't provide any other options for water other then bottled water. I wanted just a little to give to my dog but thankfully there were bowls at other establishments near by
google avatar

Janice J.

Yelp
I got a peanut butter and banana based smoothie as I was walking along the BeltLine. The smoothie was very thick (which I really like). I underestimated how peanut buttery it would be so probably wouldn't get this again but appreciate that the smoothies here use a lot of ingredients rather than blending with ice to thicken it up. The service was quick and I really like all the variety that they have.

Yelp
I have finally made a trip to this place and I honestly should've arrived earlier.I purchased the Tide Banana Bowl & I was impressed . The fruit was fresh and the quantity was perfect ! The fruit combo with the banana base made me squint at first but it's actually quite impressive. I look forward to returning.

Yelp
Loved this place! I was on a walk of the Beltline and ran across. I've always wanted to try an açaí bowl so I decided to stop in. They have a variety of bowls and smoothies. I got a half mango, half açaí base of their Goldie Mango bowl and it was absolutely delicious! The fruit was so fresh and the base was just what I needed to refresh me after three miles on the Beltline. I'm grateful to the cashier at the front who warned me ahead of time that their smoothies are not made sweet. My son wanted a smoothie so I was able to add some agave and he loved it! Definitely kid approved. The inside is a little small but they have outside seating. I loved the upbeat music and the colors made everything feel tropical. I'll be back and I highly recommend them!

Samavi A.

Yelp
We walked on the beltline and found this place towards the end of our walk. This was a great healthy refreshing option when you don't want anything too filling. The portions were big and bowls were very tasty! It was my first time trying pitaya which was tart but tasty with all the other fruits.
google avatar

Jasmin W.

Yelp
I came here walking on the belt line with friends. I had never tried an açaí bowl before so I was quite excited. I ordered the mango berry bowl which was delicious and refreshing. The mango base tasted like the mango could have been more ripe to be sweeter but still was good. The berries were ripe and delicious. I enjoyed the bowl I do think it was a bit expensive at $14 without adding any additional toppings but it is on the beltline so that's to be expected. We sat outside so we were just sitting alongside the beltline which was cool. I would be interested in trying some of the other bowls since they have so many options.

Yelp
My 1st açaí experience! I can here after an event on a Saturday morning (Run and Brunch). I did not receive this as a promotion like others in my group, but I was curious, so I pulled out the wallet and decided to treat myself! The menu is overwhelming!! So many different choices! As someone who is often indecisive, I narrowed in on my fav flavors only and made my selection from there. I ended up with the Lola Bowl and it was FANTASTIC! The employees could have been friendlier but there was a sudden influx of patrons due to the end of the event. They did manage to get the bowls out quickly, but there wasn't really any customer service. The bowl was about $12 but it is filling. Overall, I would recommend and return next time I am in the area!
google avatar

Dolly M.

Yelp
Mmm! Healthy tasty snacks! The fruits were sweet & ready to indulge in! I ordered from this nice brother who was very helpful & patient as i was not sure what i wanted to mix in my bowl. Small sitting area inside with belt line views were dope! Love this place! Will return again on my lunch break! :)
google avatar

Wendy D.

Yelp
Solid açaí bowl place on the beltline! Serves a variety of other bowls but I've only tried the açaí. Tastes good, plenty of fruit, and there are little seating areas nearby to enjoy it. Definitely hits the spot on a nice sunny day.
google avatar

Melanie F.

Yelp
I love playa bowls especially the Nutelloco but I'm super annoyed that they never have the online ordering system on. Like EVER. It honestly makes me feel like they don't want the business.
google avatar

Ling K.

Yelp
My fave smoothie bowl place ever! I love the mango based so much hope it never leaves!
google avatar

Jordan T.

Yelp
1st time there. Got the Nutella bowl sub coconut for cocoa nibs. 1 star for the bowl, 1 for service and 1 for the speediness of my order. The bowl lacked flavor and Nutella. I think it was just drizzled on the top which was not hardly enough to name the bowl after it. lol came home and added chia seed and peanut butter to boost the flavor. All in all, I've had better bowls and probably will go elsewhere.
google avatar

Garrett M.

Yelp
Worst customer service. Too bad bc their bowls are pretty good. "We don't do refunds (even though we messed up)." Won't be back.

W D.

Yelp
This was my first trip to Playa Bowl. My Jersey friends talk about it all the time, but there aren't any near me. It definitely lived up to the hype!!! The açaí bowl was delicious. Good, clean eating that is yummie. You cannot beat it. The staff was also friendly and that matters.
google avatar

Venie N.

Yelp
Visited Playa Bowls for the first time on Saturday afternoon and it exceeded my expectations! The worker at the register answered the few questions I had and was really sweet and nice. I ordered the Electric Mermaid Pitaya Bowl and I added strawberries to it. It was amazing! I think the price was reasonable for what you get. I could honestly eat there every day and I can't wait to go back to try more bowls. My friend had the Nutella Açaí Bowl and also loved it. I don't think you can go wrong with anything from here. They also have smoothies if you don't want a bowl! If you're wanting something refreshing and light to eat I recommend trying Playa Bowls!
google avatar

Emanë E.

Yelp
They under filled my bowl with açaí. I asked for more, was even willing to pay extra, but 2 of the workers were extremely rude. I ultimately decided to opt for a refund, where the cashier was unable to process my request on the spot and claimed the owner would refund my money some time today, which made 0 sense. This used to be my favorite location (is always clean), but now I will not be returning.
google avatar

Mary Beth R.

Yelp
This is a great place to go on the beltline if you're looking for something healthy, however, I would expect a 10 dollar bowl of oatmeal to have some more flavor. It's was pretty bland, wouldn't get the oatmeal if I went again
google avatar

Faith F.

Yelp
Smoothie to me taste better personal opinion customer was ok it's was my first time and I didn't wanna go the cashier wasn't willing to explain how to build my bowl
google avatar

Claire H.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try here, and although it wasn't all that hype, they have amazing service and great smoothie bowls. Definitely a great place to come for a quick snack after a workout or just whenever. left: Power Acai Bowl with strawberries right: Dragonberry Pitaya Bowl
google avatar

Matthew B.

Yelp
Great spot on the beltline! The bowl was made quickly and it was delicious. Good service and quick payment too.

Tom L.

Yelp
Best açaí bowl I think I've had ever. Pleasant service too! All the ingredients tasted fresh.
google avatar

Jeremiah B.

Yelp
This place is fire . The food is fresh and it taste so better on a hot day. I always hit this spot
google avatar

Auja S.

Yelp
I have had some awesome açaí bowls before in Hawaii. I will say this place is #2 on my list. I will always recommend this place to anyone who asks me. The area this place is in was great. The bowl I got only came with bananas and honey. I added peanut butter and strawberries. Sadly I forgot the name of it (the first one on the top left). For me the store was hard to find because the GPS took us in the wrong direction for walking because they had some construction in the area going on.
google avatar

Bella H.

Yelp
So good. I was so delighted to find out they opened a location in Atlanta. It is right on the beltline near Krog Street, and has a really nice outdoor seating area that overlooks the beltline. This is my favorite place that I have gotten acai at because the ingredients are always really fresh and it is reasonably priced. The only thing is that if you are driving here it is tough to get to and find where to park if you don't know where you are going.
google avatar

Sam L.

Yelp
Playa Bowls is a cute but pricey spot on the Beltline, not unlike other businesses nearby. If you are planning on driving to it, parking is a bit tough. You can pay for parking nearby or try to find street parking in the area; I was lucky to snag a spot about a 5 minute walk away on Auburn Ave. Otherwise, it is right on the Beltline if you want to walk! It's a pretty cute place, a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating (they open up the storefront when it's nice out.) Definitely fun ambience, the music is a bit a louder and more energetic than say, a coffee shop so if you're looking to stay and chat with a group seating outdoors might be the move. The menu is pretty big, they have a variety of smoothies and bowls as well as poké. I got the acai power bowl, which was $11, and added Nutella for $0.50. The bowl itself was good, I thought the size was small. It came with a great amount of bananas and granola, but only a drizzle of peanut butter and Nutella - I would have preferred more for what I was paying. Compared to other bowls I've gotten, I think the acai base tastes more like pure acai (with sweeteners, lol) - the power bowl base is blended with protein power, but I didn't notice it at all. Am curious if that's the case with other bowls that have blended bases. I know smoothie bowls tend to be on the more costly side as is, but I thought $11 for my bowl was a bit much, especially since its only toppings were peanut butter, granola, and banana. The $0.50 toppings sound alluring, but am curious how much they add of the other toppings because the Nutella was just a drizzle. Overall, I had a solid smoothie bowl, but the price tag for what you're getting was just a bit too high to qualify Playa Bowls as a frequent stop for me.

Yelp
My gf found this place on postmates about a week ago, and since then we have ordered from them about 5 times. It's safe to say, she likes them. Her favorite is the pura vida açaí bowl, add bananas. She gets that every single time. It's very good, very sweet. I've tried the electric mermaid pitaya bowl, the kowbunga smoothie, and the mermaid fuel juice. The smoothie was not good to me, I didn't even finish it. But I loved the juice and the bowl was really good too. The service here is nice and quick. And the music is good. Due to COVID, only 2 people can come in at a time. After you order, you step out and they call your name at the window to pick up your stuff. One thing I really like is that the bowls, cups and straws are all eco friendly/made from plants/compostable. The first time we visited the actual storefront, we'd tried to order in again, but unfortunately they were busy and weren't taking PM orders. We checked back a few times, but they still weren't available. I'm hesitant to leave the apartment these days, but she insisted bc she just HAD to have it. Another reason I was a little hesitant is because I noticed that they are located on the beltline, which I know can be a little (lot) difficult to navigate, especially when you're not on foot. I've been in Atlanta for years and know my way around, so it was easy to make it to Auburn. But my lord, it was so hard for me to find this place. The very first time we drove we parked on the backside of the studio plex area. They have paid parking through the gate, but I chanced it and just pulled up to one of the free spaces. (I *would not* advise this though, they literally have the boots attached to the signs!!) To make it easy on you, GPS to the Ayla apartments. There is parking, and a direct path to the spot!
google avatar

Gerardo V.

Yelp
Two stars strictly based off of the cashier. I felt judged the entire time and it made me wildly uncomfortable. It should not take that much to be friendly when you work in customer service. Keep that bs at the house or go find a job where you don't have to interact with customers. Power Bowl was good, but based off of the cashier (others behind him were not exactly friendly either), find another spot. Oh, the juices are $7.99. I normally would never, but figured I'd just shut my mouth and go. It was tasty. But that price is absolutely criminal.

Dajah T.

Yelp
Great place but it's so inconvenient to come to a location where the time does not match online especially with them not having many locations and going out the way to this one
google avatar

Scarlett F.

Yelp
A friend and I decided to walk along the beltline. On the way back, we stopped at Playa bowls. I ordered a juice and she ordered a smoothie. It was pretty good. The host was informative since it was our first visit there. It did not take them long to make it, and that was a plus. We preceded to the outside area for a great convo while sipping on our drinks.
google avatar

Sade G.

Yelp
Best smoothie bowls in the city, always fresh and always good. Highly recommend, there's outside seating as well, this is located on the beltline.
google avatar

Victoria R.

Yelp
Menu is extensive. Smoothies & bowls are consistent every visit. Music sets a cool lil vibe and there's indoor and outdoor seating. Beltline location has the absolute nicest staff and location for people watching.
google avatar

Miranda B.

Yelp
Went for a early morning Saturday bike ride on the belt line and saw this place and had to try it because I'm a big fan of Açaí! This was the best Açaí that I have ever tasted! Super fresh and so flavorful. I had the Pura Vida bowl. It came with super fresh blueberries, strawberries, granola and honey drizzle . The bowl it self was extremely fresh and very fulfilling. Can't want to go back to the belt-line to have this again! I found out that they have 2 other locations in the ATL area that are not on the belt-line.
google avatar

WhereIs L.

Yelp
Wow! I'm here at 7:14pm bc online it says they close by 8pm ... only to be told they are closed by the employees on 4/5/2022... update your playa bowls time online so people don't have to waste gas and parking ticket money smh..this whole potential first experience was horrible
google avatar

Erin K.

Yelp
Perfect place to stop at for a healthy, delicious cold treat on a hot summer day! Easily accessible from the belt line. Not so much if you're driving there. But either way it's worth the effort! Staff is super friendly and the fruit is so fresh and not mush like a lot of other açaí bowl places. If you're in the mood for a smoothie bowl and want something other than açaí, they have options out the wazooooo! Big fan of this place and look forward to every time my dog and I walk the belt line so we can pop in for a healthy treat!
google avatar

Mia M.

Yelp
I just drove here & have a friend who was on her way to meet me. Its 5:00pm, the hours say the establishment closes at 7:00 online. I got there and they said they're closed and that I should call ahead because sometimes they close early. She said it was the staff? Really unprofessional & annoying though especially because I drove so far & they didnt even pick up the phone when I called.
google avatar

Gabriella R.

Yelp
If you're craving something fruity and clean! This is the spot. It's super clean and has so many incredible, fresh options! I can't recommend just one bowl! They are all delicious! Their juices are a must try too! Parking can be a little confusing, but there is an upper parking area and deck. Must try.
google avatar

Katie E.

Yelp
So delicious!!! Such a big menu with so many mouthwatering options. They are a little on the pricy side but it's such a good splurge. Highly recommend checking out Playa bowls for all your fruit bowl/smoothie cravings.

holly d.

Yelp
Everyone here was really nice and super quick. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because my açaí bowl tasted like I was eating a bowl of sugar... I've gone to other locations and it was great, this one was the worst so far unfortunately:/
google avatar

Ambe C.

Yelp
First time ordering a bowl. It was so tasty! I omitted the walnuts. The peanut butter provided the perfect amount of sweetness. Will order again. Only downside is that they don't take orders over the phone. A little inconvenient for someone like me who does "pickup" orders on the way to work
google avatar

Sheena G.

Yelp
If you want a deliciously overpriced smoothie bowl - this is your place. It was a short wait on a busy Sunday for an acai bowl with banana and granola. I really enjoyed it and would probably revisit for a healthy breakfast while on the beltline.
google avatar

Antavia L.

Yelp
They have the BEST açaí bowls ever! here are two pura vida bowls, one with all blueberries and one with both blueberries and strawberries. the bowls also come with honey & granola which makes the taste even better! I have a food blog on Instagram, you all should follow for more food reviews! @taveatss www.instagram.com/taveatss

Yelp
This place is great! the bowel is so good. All the fruits are fresh . I really enjoyed the environment. We were able to eat the bowls on the outside table. There is a trail up the street to walk
