Playa Studios

We used Playa Studios for our wedding venue and have nothing but amazing things to say! We loved that it was a big open venue with a separate ceremony and cocktail space AND tables and chairs included in the rental rate. The only big decor we added were string lights to the ceiling. We were able to bring in or own catering selections (Pizzana made fresh pizzas and we paired that with Jon & Vinny's drop off catering) and all of the guests LOVED it. We had 162 people and there was plenty of room for bars, buffet tables, and a big dance floor. We also loved that it's near the west side because it's closer to the airport than most venues and our many out of town guests were able to stay in Marina Del Rey by the beach. Egan was extremely supportive, informative, and flexible throughout the whole process and worked hand in hand with our coordinator at Pop the Champagne. Would book this place for another event in a heartbeat.

One of the best warehouse type venues I've seen. Very clean, artse interior with complete kitchen. Held big fundraiser here and was totally impressed. Gated parking across the street.

Was really a great experience working with her who was always available with all my questions and was flexible as we navigated changes to our event due to the LA fires. Also shout out to Beth who assisted during the event day, she helped the show continue while I was occupied and very dependable. Let's get into the space. It's absolutely versatile and spacious with two rooms that could be used how you like, a large lobby and the a Huge main room that could be used as a canvas for whatever you need it to become. The venue welcomes all event design but has a natural aesthetic that works wonders especially with their built in rentals that come with the space such as the plentiful rustic tables and chairs, media features like LARGE screen and projector and in house audio. Def already thinking how I can reuse the space at a later date.

The space felt dark. Doent off er a enough support to the people renting the venue.

Lack of handicap accessible entrance, and overall accessibility issues made this venue difficult to enjoy with elderly family members in a wheelchair and using a walker. Beautiful facility, but could be a lot more functional for people of all abilities.

I recently managed a wedding at Playa Studios and I loved working there, Egan was amazing to work with a very helpful since the beginning of planning. The day of the wedding Chaim, Christine and the rest of the crew was incredible and on top of everything! Needless to say the space is SUPER cool!! Super recommended!!!

My husband and I got married at the wonderful Playa Studios three weeks ago and cannot stop raving about it. Not just us, but all of our wedding attendees and vendors. The process started about a year ago when we toured the venue. Immediately, we knew it was our place! We had toured two other places, but always knew where our heart was. The space itself is massive, so chic and effortlessly cool. Everywhere you look, there's a spot where you want to take a picture---it's a photographer's dream. We loved how there were smaller rooms and nooks in the lounge area for our guests to congregate in for cocktail hour. The event room is where we had both our ceremony and reception. Somehow, the Playa Studios team managed to flip the room within an hour between our ceremony and reception, and transformed it beautifully to capture our vision. Onto the staff there... what can I say about Egan that isn't evident the moment you meet her? She's super chill and that helped ease any worries we may have had (we didn't really have any). She's incredibly helpful, professional, and easy to talk to. The venue itself provides you with clear directions and guides you with what's needed on your end from the moment you book them. Egan and the team are very responsive and communicative if you have any questions. Also, they provided a preferred vendor list where we found our awesome caterer and DJ from. The other staff members present on our special day were also very helpful and kind. You could tell they cared about our event and its success. All in all, Playa Studios, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We hope our friends and family members have many events there in the future so that we can return and relive some fabulous memories.

We decided to have our wedding at Playa Studios in October 2019. We found Playa after exhausting the list of reception venues near Downtown LA. In early 2018 Playa Studios was going through a lot of renovations and it seemed like the team really cared about investing in the place. We really liked the overall style of the place and that it found the balance of allowing us to have a custom reception but at least providing the decorations, furniture and overall atmosphere that Playa Studios has when you visit. There were certainly a lot of rules that went along with having a wedding at Playa Studios but Erin and the team always had a good reason for the rules. Erin was also did an excellent job communicating throughout the process. It seems that the rules are in place to help ensure a good event while also being a good neighbor in Culver City. It's incredible to see how the place transformed from the time we booked in early 2018 to late 2019. They created a new bridal suite, a kitchen, a second lounge area and redid the main event area multiple times. They care a lot about the overall look of their venue and if you like that style then Playa Studios is a good choice. Overall our wedding reception went exactly as planned and we were very happy with the decision to have it there!

Playa studios is a super chic venue nested on an industrial street in Culver City. It shares a street with pipe and magnet shops with a residential district nearby; on my drive up, I wasn't sure what to expect. Although there was valet parking for the event, there was also easy free street parking on Playa Street & Playa Court. I had the pleasure of attending a conference here for fashion, food, travel. The decor was a feast for the eyes! When you walk into the holding area, you're greeted by concrete floors, high ceilings, bright white walls to open the space with dark grey accent walls to add interest. Look to the left there's a playful insect (was it beatles?) pattern. Look to the right and there's a funky dragon giraffe dinosaur lady. An inviting sitting area with a gallery wall opposes the open kitchenette with sprawling white granite counter & reclaimed wood wall and ceiling. Through big open glass doors is the main event venue -- a large expansive room with just as much architectural interest. Great sound control between the two areas; even with the doors open and conversation in full force near the kitchen, the main event was not disturbed. Exposed piping and modern chandeliers dangle from the lofted ceilings. Wainscot panels juxtapose concrete block walls. Green accents warm the space. Overall, Playa Studios is an inviting gorgeous modern venue full of personality.

My husband and I booked this spot for our wedding reception and the owner decided to cancel our day three weeks prior. He doesn't have catering set up and said we had "too many questions" about setting up our own catering service. And we only really asked a few questions about where everything should be set up. Totally normal logistics. Lender and staff were very condescending and rude. Took our money for the deposit and then decided they didn't want to help accommodate us leaving us high and dry three weeks before our wedding! Not to mention we were asked what our religious background are (Christian and Muslim)...how is that relevant? Guess it was really relevant. Thanks for stressing us out three weeks before our celebration. Don't wast your time or money here. Disgusting.

Playa Studios is a GORGEOUS venue space and the owner of the venue, Adam is extremely knowledgeable about his space and incredibly easy to work with. They've got the capabilities to do everything from an intimate concert (amazing sounds system and Adam is very knowledgable regarding production so you wouldn't have to bring a ton of A/V in) to off site meetings. The space is huge and you have multiple rooms to choose from to host your event. Adam is SUPER flexible and for my company, that's crucial as things are constantly changing. You can tell that they've put a lot of time, effort, and thought into the look and feel in the space. The furniture, the decor, the art on the walls, everything has been meticulously selected and makes for a beautiful, modern industrial vibe. We hosted an off-site meeting for 80 people here and everyone could not stop talking about how great their experience was. I would HIGHLY recommend the space.

Amazing space. I didn't host an event, however I was a guest recently. Their design choices were unique, fun and not over-the-top. There is a nice open area towards the back that can be used for just about anything. It was a cocktail party and band when I was there. Plenty of room. I'll be considering this location for my own business when I need an event. Nice work guys!

Playa Studios is a wonderful new venue. They have great staff, and the owner Adam is a dream to work with. A blank canvas space with so much room for creativity and they also have a lot of great pieces you can use on property. A true hidden gem in culver city, great for any event wedding, to mitzvah, highly recommend this space! Thank you for helping make my last event well, awesome!
