The Best New Brunches in Nashville, Fall-Winter 2024

"A 12 South neighborhood newcomer, Playdate is as fun as its name suggests, offering ample outdoor seating, a boozy brunch menu, and a colorful, adult-sized slide to add to the entertainment. On Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., your brunch date can include a breakfast burrito, avocado toast, or chicken and waffle slider paired with a drunken slushy, espresso martini, or bubbles for the group. Because after a few mimosas, zipping down a slide sounds like a great idea." - Kellie Walton

The Hottest New Restaurants in Nashville, August 2024

"Playdate aims to tap into your inner child with interactive components paired with food and boozy drinks. Situated in a renovated 1920s white wood-paneled house in 12 South, it’s easy to spot thanks to the colorful mural of a cowgirl holding a drink splashed on the side. The outdoor patio with picnic tables and a bar is where you’ll want to be when the weather’s playing nice, enjoying a playful menu of candied bacon, chicken waffle sliders, churro ice cream sandwiches, and boozy slushies." - Kellie Walton, Eater Staff

While they are still working out some kinks it seems with having enough servers, our server Lindsey still did a great job! We didn’t know it was trivia night, and it added to the vibe of our evening. You’ll have to pay to park or find street parking. Location is great in 12S! One issue we had was small children were allowed to stay after 8PM, and they were screaming going down the slide which was mildly annoying at times. (The menu says no small children allowed after 8PM). Prices are good for the food, but the drinks could probably be better for the price. All in all a great experience and we will be back!

Loved High Tea here. Service was snappy and sweet, like your favorite cousin who knows how to throw a bridal shower. The staff made us feel welcome but didn’t hover, which I appreciate when I’m trying to spill tea while drinking it.

This is a unique place with a fun slide in the middle of the bar. We just stopped here for a quick snack. They were out of several appetizers, which was disappointing. The pretzel was the favorite. The brussel sprouts were good, but heavy because they were deep fried.

stopped for lunch on Saturday. was seated immediately in the back area Service was great. Food is so so bar food. Nothing special. The place next door had a 2 hour wait so we thought we would give it a try. Sandwiches served in a cardboard basket. Great concept and atmosphere. Not so great food

Drinks were fine. Service ok. Food was either (a) not as advertised or (b) just not good. Cali Chicken salad was ok but had no avocado and lacked enough dressing. Two of us had the chicken couscous salad and the couscous was old and flavorless. Maybe a spot for a drink and a fun ride down the signature slide. Food is not worth it.

There's a smaller inside area and then a larger area in the back. It's a cute aesthetic enough place. There's a big slide in the back. Idk if you can actually slide down it or not, we didn't try. We did trivia on Thursday and it was a lot of fun. The food was pretty good. The fries had an interesting seasoning on them, wouldn't call it good or bad just interesting. Service was friendly enough.

The blueberry lemon drop martini was really good, and I liked the feta dip, too. The strawberry daiquiri was okay. The outside was fun, and I loved the slide.

Made a reservation for a group and they didn’t save a space for us, just simply told us to find what was available. Had to put tables together and a server never came out to greet us. Next door though is fantastic by the way and was able to seat us immediately. Large disappointment for a place with such potential
