They have a colorful patio that would be even better with a few margaritas, which unfortunately La Playita doesn’t serve. "Run by the team behind Los Angeles taquero legend Guisados, Playita is a new(ish) mariscos restaurant also on Sunset. The menu here is pretty compact, so you’ll want to focus on the campechanas and tacos. The fish tacos are beer battered to perfection, encased in a glorious golden shell that makes a proper CRUNCH when you bite into it. If you want something a bit more acidic, try the campechana, a seafood-packed snack that comes with an ocean’s worth of shrimp, fish, crab, albacore, and octopus in a tomato-based stew." - kat hong
