8/30/23 This place is HUGE!Plaza Mexico
This is our first time here & Hubby's been meaning to check it out. There's so many shops & it'll probably take about a half a day just to visit the first floor. It's in the middle of the week & I'm pretty sure it gets packed on the weekends. We found parking right in front of El Gallo Giro. There's a bakery, a fish market inside the venue and a boatload of snack, dulcelarias-we felt like kids let loose at a candy store. There's a pharmacy, bookstore, jewelry shops, lingerie, shoes, pet store, cellular accessories, boots & cowboy hats, dry cleaners, even a massage place.
I was looking at my phone to add photos on Yrlp & when I looked up a lady accosted ne & out of nowhere I got roped into getting a massage! LoL. She said "One minute, no charge, let me show you" and then before I could say anything else, I agreed to a 42 minute massage for $42. I must admit, it's probably the best impromptu massages I've ever had-no lie!! Leo was really adept at finding the problem knots & I felt like a new person once I was done. The massage itself is a 5/5 but given no privacy & the staff talking among themselves in their language-no bueno. But if it's just a massage you want w/o the frills-Leo's got your back-literally:))
I passed by some many small snack shops with some items I've never seen before. I was afforded a taste of some stir fried crickets with garlic n chile flavor--not bad. Hubby was not a fan.
I needed to replace my phone case, got one for $12. Done. Hubby bought his piggies (see photo) and he says it's as close as his childhood memory kind of pan dulce.
We have to go back & our cumadre (our Goddaughter's mom) wants to go with us then. Lots more places to explore!!
