Stopped in on way to Mass. Can't find good chicken Parmesan in northern Alabama. 😫 It was on special so it was 1st choice. Terrific, from the sauce to the way the chicken was cooked perfectly. Wife had chicken souvlaki platter. It was all terrific. Would stop again if ever passing by.

Fast service, tasty food, large portions. Atmosphere is also great. Had breakfast- coffee, hash browns and cheese omelette- all was excellent!!!

Love, love, LOVE the Plaza! Old school breakfast in Greenwich. I come for the amazing homemade hash (best I have ever had) with a fried egg on top. Sheer heaven.

Nice relaxed atmosphere but could do with a decor refresh. The menu was as broad as most diners but the pancakes we had were a little disappointing; bland and served with packet syrup. It was reasonably priced but there seem to be other options nearby.

Been going here since I was in my 20’s now a mother of two high schoolers, we love this place , the food is amazing clean place, super kind and friendly family business, they are good to everyone. This is an amazing local business that makes Greenwich even more sweet place to live. Go here and you will be happy. Get the Greek mixed grill authentic flavors and super tasty affordable.

I’ve had a bad experience with their chicken souvlaki in the past, it was undercooked and it smelled. I haven’t been back since.

Amazing food. Nice staff and they always ask if we want something else. Recommend to come here for break fast and lunch. But I never tired the dinner but I will update you later

Plaza Restaurant is one of those places the locals all know about. Located in downtown Greenwich, it offers standard Greek & American fare at reasonable prices. This weekend, I decided to try their Gyro Platter and Homestyle Apple Pie. Both were excellent. Compared with some of the trendier restaurants in town, this place is like foodie time traveling - takes you back to the days when restaurants made food the way they believed it should be - fat & calories be damned! The gyro platter was delicious & filling. And for once, here is a restaurant that actually has a simple but great Greek salad dressing. Not one of those sweet balsamic travesties that some places use.... Plaza's food met my tastebuds expectations. Good thing I have a treadmill - I ate the entire order down to the last crumb. Yum. Plaza Restaurant has been around for over 40 years and I'd wager the food tastes the same now as it did back then. And that's a very good thing.

It's with a heavy heart that I have to leave this review. I've been a plaza customer for 10 years or so and it was always a good eat at the counter breakfast place. Without getting into the entire shit show breakfast was yesterday it's just better to say avoid this place. Their grill man is an insult to the culinary world. Breakfast is the simplest meal to prepare professionally and this guy on the grill now cannot make simple fried eggs. Fire him b4 he destroys what's left of your biz.

Food was excellent. Love a diner that does a truly homemade corned beef hash and theirs was fire. Aside from feeling like every time we interacted with our server, we were nothing him, it was a great meal. Will go back.

Went here for the first time this morning after a visit to Greenwich Hospital. This review is just for breakfast for the two of us. This restaurant is an old school luncheonette. The menu photos on Yelp do not reflect the current prices. Our waitress was an old school New York style waitress. Straight to the point, no smile, but not impolite. I had the corned beef hash with poached eggs and Hollandaise. Personally I like my hash with the corned beef a little softer, not quite so lean, and a few more onions. There are no potatoes in the hash, which is fine by me. Eggs were poached perfectly, with runny yolks. Hollandaise was good enough. I like my home fries a little jazzier, with some onions and peppers mixed in, and even a little garlic; these were straightforward potatoes. My wife had an egg white omelet, which came out scorched, which she is OK with, but I would not be. I'm a coffee drinker, and we're in an age of higher standards for coffee. This coffee was solid one star food service coffee. The cup I had at the hospital was better. I don't know how much more expensive a step up in coffee would cost the restaurant, but a cup of coffee has a pretty good profit margin, and I would encourage them to spend another 20 or 25 cents per cup for a better quality blend.

Just ordered food and they messed up the ordered i asked to just refund the difference and got cursed put by someone dont recommend

I hate to do this because I've never had a problem with this place before but today it was the most grotesque food I've ever had. I ordered chicken Kebob and it was disgusting!!! It was raw inside and some kind of distinct smell was coming from it. Sorry but it is unacceptable and unfortunately I'll never go back. An hour later I still have that disgusting taste in my mouth I hope I won't get sick.

Great old school diner in downtown Greenwich. Have been going there for 20 years for breakfast and lunch.

Just sat and watched the short order cook put all the bacon on the grill with his bare hands, then handle another customer's muffin and wrap it up. Did this repeatedly. Crazy. No washing hands, then started preparing my avocado. Again, having raw egg and raw bacon on his hands. Nuts.

Disclaimer: I started writing reviews to review restaurants I want to recommend but unfortunately there are a few I have to not recommend like Plaza. Let's set the table so to speak for my meal. I came in for lunch on a Monday at 2p when there was only 5 other people in the restaurant. With that said it took over 20 minutes to get my order of a bacon cheese burger deluxe. If anyone knows diners, food usual arrives before you take off your jacket so 15 minutes with an empty restaurant is insulting if not at a minimum lay-z. To add more insult to injury the burger was significantly smaller than the bun. I have never seen that before. The bacon was over cooked to a degree that it was brittle and lastly the bun was burnt so much so that I had to ask for another one. Now I am not a baby regarding my food but this burger just sucked all around. A disappointment for sure because who messes up a diner burger. I guess the Plaza Restaurant does.

Small Greek dinner in Greenwich, Connecticut that has One of the Best corned beef hash I have ever tried. Yes the decor is out dated and needs a fresh coat of paint but the breakfast is Fire! I had the corned beef hash with two eggs over, toasted bagel with cream cheese, and coffee. The corned beef hash is made with onions and peppers. The corned beef is not Mashed up to like baby food. This had Chunks of Corned beef that was well seasoned and had the right amount of fat. Simply Delicious! The service was fast and food came out Hot and delicious. Great way to start your Day!

Visited this restaurant while returning back from NY on day 1 of new year 2018. We were starving early morning and most of the places were closed. We found this on yelp and had to give it a try. Staff was welcoming and we chose a table of our choice. Had a perfect start to this year with fresh, aromatic coffee! Menu has all that we need for a breakfast - pancakes, omelettes, burgers and extensive lunch options too. We ordered a egg and cheese sandwich (croissant), Zeus special(grilled chicken, egg whites with green deliciousness) and our infamous satiating "oatmeal with berries". Owners seemed proud of their service, which was excellent. Food was served right and quick. Interior was very homely and had a traditional touch to it. They deserve good points for their simplicity. I would recommend this place if you are around the Greenwich area.

Plaza has standard diner food and is good if you are looking to get a quick bite and hit the road. I had the BLT with a side salad for about $8. Great price for good value! I gave it 3 stars because the food is standard, not incredible.

Awesome breakfast! We shared the French omelet and a side of the homemade corned beef hash. Both were very tasty! Overall, this retro diner is a hit!

Ok, the people giving this place more than one star have obviously never eaten at a proper diner. When you walk into a diner for breakfast, the coffee should magically appear moments after you are seated. Not here. Refills on coffee? Sometimes you have to get up and walk over and ask for someone to come by. The service is really erratic. Diners are about fast. These people don't know how to spell fast. We have been coming here once every few months or so for breakfast because its a convenient location. We treated the bad service as sort of a fun joke, just to see what will happen each time. But today was the last straw. Never again. The food is passable, although my omelet today was so overcooked it was like eating paper. The toast is really good (I guess you really can't screw that up). They do have good muffins if you catch them when they come in fresh. Top notch. I am sure the place is fine for the workers who grab a bacon, egg and cheese on a roll on the way to work, but don't ever sit down here. It is too painful.

Went with a group and everyone loved their food....even the soup was amazing...def coming here again when in town

I have ordered from this place a bunch of times. Food was always just ok. It was quick and easy to order from. I had bad experiences with the food a couple of times but nothing crazy so I never complained or put a review. Today put me over the edge.../I ordered a meatball parm and look at the picture and you decide for yourself if you should order from there

Worst service in all of Greenwich. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. SERVICE IS RUDE BEYOND BELIEF IN PERSON AND IF YOU ORDER THEOGH AN APP YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR FOOD. Please do not patronize a restaurant that doesn't even have a hold button, so you can hear that 1+ hrs after ordering they haven't even put ticket in. Save yourself trouble and order Glory Day's, Olive Branch, Stamford Diner. Literally order from anyplace but here.

Came here a few months ago and decided to get a quick meal before attending the film festival across the street. This is seriously my first negative review of a place, but with over an hour to spare, my friend and I were still late to the first screening that day. The entire diner was empty except for two other tables, and I found the food underwhelming. The person who took care of us was nice and friendly, but it was too frustrating to wait so long for so-so food in an empty spot. We didnt ask for anything elaborate, I think it was just waffles and coffee, but it took us well over an hour to get our food, eat, and cross the street. I hope it was a one-off thing.

think i found my new breakfast spot in greenwich. Extremely affordable and quality does not suffer either. for under $7 got a coffee and the egg, home fries, and toast platter. no complaints whatsoever, will be back.

Have only been here for breakfast, but the foods that I have ordered have been cooked just the way I ordered it. This may sound crazy, but I like "toast". Not just the bread coming out warm, but toasted. Service can be a touch off occasionally, but the food and coffee are great.

Good breakfast, lots of options. Typical diner fare with some interesting options thrown in. I like the avocado boat.

A nice small diner, that has amazing signature sandwiches! The French dip sandwich, is to die for. You cannot forget about the amazing milkshakes, that they have! Please, indulge in a vanilla milkshake. I will continue to go here as much as I can. 10/10

Stopped by here on the way up from NYC. Really nice diner feel without being in your face about it. I ordered a margherita omelette. Unlike many places, the accompanying home fries were nearly perfectly done with just the right amount of crispness. The omelette was also pretty excellent with just the right proportion of mozzarella cheese and tomato. I would definitely make this a regular breakfast joint if I lived in the area.

Great, small, family owned diner. Generous portions and very attentive service. Only wish the breakfast platters included coffee and a small juice like some of the other diners.

Great Diner can't complain about the price one of the cheapest meals around Greenwich Ave. The service is very personal they will get to know you quick and you can easily become one of the regulars, even if your not.

I work in the area my coworkers and I come here a few times a week. Its a family run restaurant and the staff is always sweet and hospitable. We usually get their sandwiches, soups and salads for lunch and have never been disappointed. My go to is their grilled shrimp greek salad, philly, souvlaki pita (get the pork when its available!), and chicken kebabs. My co-worker also swears their corned beef is as good as katz in the city. Great food and great people at the Plaza

How about this.?...a classic Greek diner across from the Greenwich train station.....great service....classic souvlakis, gyros, fresh generous sized Greek salads, spinach pie, best breakfasts, quick to go orders, long counters. big booths, wish they stayed open for dinner. good value, and have been coming here for years...always bring house guests......and love the poached eggs.

I work around the corner and this is my go to place. From breakfast sandwiches to chocolate milkshakes this place is amazing. Owned by a local greek family. Nick and his sons are always a pleasure to see and of course his happy wife. Reasonably priced and food is better then most local diners.

Thank you Yelp for helping me find this nice affordable little local joint in a spendy little town. My gyro was just what I hoped for and my lunch companions were happy with their pasta, Philly, and wings. Not spectacular but solid and just what we were looking for.

Stopped here on our way home from NY. The place was pretty empty when we arrived. We ordered pretty quickly. It took over an hour to receive our food ( 3 omelets and 1 French toast) . After the hour wait 2 of the omelets were wrong and 1 of the sides was missing. The waiter offered to fix the orders , but left our table without taking our plates. He then came back with napkins and asked if everything was ok,we then reminded him of the mixed up orders and missing side. He then left our table and brought back the check.

The people are so kind and hardworking. The food is delicious and the prices are amazing. My Fiancé and I love to pick up breakfast on the weekends. I will sometimes order lunch from them. Beautiful big salads and delicious hot meals. The food is always perfect.

Stop by while driving through Connecticut. Great bkfst menu with large servings and the prices are on point. Would definitely come back again!

Been eating breakfast and lunch here for years, good food, and most importantly affordable for the central Greenwich area. Most of the specials leave you stuffed and they're all good...or stick to the simple breakfast menu if you want something lighter. Can't go wrong with a meal at The Plaza.

Came here for New Years Day - the perfect food for my hangover! I got a chili cheese burger, and my girlfriend got an avocado plate. The service was prompt, and the food delicious. Despite being very busy, the staff was very attentive and very friendly. Also, best for Greenwich, the prices are more than fair! I'll definitely be coming here again. So long, over-priced Glory Days!

Walked in for lunch, it was not super busy, sat for 10 minutes and was served water but no one offered to take food or drink order. Ended up leaving. So I cannot comment on the food but very poor service.

This is a charming place in contrast to the shishi joints around Greenwich. I hope they own the building, otherwise it might become a jewelry store. They do get slammed with business at certain times. Servings are generous and the prices are very fair. Get the corned beef hash, it's to die for.

Loved the place until I had a terrible experience with one of the staff members. After asking why my dish was taking so long to make (45 mins+) the waiter began to get angry and told me to "back off and that I was embarrassing myself" very loudly and in front of the entire restaurant. His face was red and he slammed his fist down in the table and scoffed, before walking away. Will not be going back anytime soon. The food is good, but that one waiter ruined my experience.

Ever since I started my new job in Greenwich, my coworkers have been telling me that Plaza is "the spot". I can see why. Generous portions and always delicious. Surprisingly good coffee! Also, their reuben is out of this world. Staff is very friendly - they will always accommodate your requests. Family owned and operated, which makes all the difference in how you get taken care of. The building looks a bit old, but everything from food to service is quality. Just an overall great feel - I love this place.
