I believe this restaurant must be better known for its lunches and dinners, and not its breakfasts. We had breakfast here this morning. Fried eggs were fried eggs, but the grits were undercooked and lukewarm. The bacon brand was overly salty too. The simple waffle was just a waffle, but the obviously pre-made (pre-cooked too?) sausage patties were a great disappointment in taste quality, were hard, and overly cooked/preheated or over-warmed too long. At the prices being charged here I would expect excellent quality food be served. Speaking of service...don't let the staff sit you near the kitchen entrance as the waitstaff takes no care in bussing the dishes and loudly tosses those dishes into the to-be-washed bin. All in all, a disappointing breakfast experience. Perhaps they do better with the food quality of the non-breakfast dishes.

If you ever find yourself near Kernersville, SC, make it a point to stop at The Plaza restaurant…a true hidden gem that delivers an experience far beyond what you’d expect. From the moment we walked in, we were met with warmth and professionalism, and that only grew stronger as the visit continued. Let’s talk about the food. Everything we ordered was excellent. The French toast was perfectly sweet with a delicate texture that still felt hearty and satisfying. The gyro was absolutely loaded…overflowing with fresh toppings and meat that was seasoned and cooked to perfection. It was almost too big to handle, but every bite was worth it. And the baked steak? Succulent, tender, and packed with deep, rich flavor that had us savoring each bite. But the real star of our visit was the service. Brandy, our server, went above and beyond. She was incredibly attentive and made us feel like we were the only table in the place. We asked a lot of questions, and she answered each one with enthusiasm and genuine care. It was clear she loves her job, and that positive energy made the experience even more enjoyable. The Plaza is comfort food done right, with service that shines. We’ll be back!

We love eating here. It's been the family's go-to for veggie plates forever, but we truly love most everything on the menu. They have a delicious beet salad that's unique. Everything was out quick, hot, & delicious. The staff was friendly and on it for all of our needs. We love The Plaza.

Google
Really good local restaurant! We had the grilled reuben platter which was quite flavorful and delicious! It was apparently voted best reuben in the region on the menu and I can see so. Wife had the chef salad and it was fresh and refreshing. They have the shredded lettuce with diced tomatoes and onions, ham, turkey, cheese and eggs. Prices are quite reasonable at $28 for both of us.

Google
Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price I genuinely don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, especially for small local spots, but unfortunately, our experience was far from positive. The food was some of the most disappointing—and overpriced—I’ve had in a long time. Portions were surprisingly small given the high prices, and the quality didn’t come close to justifying the cost. The chicken dish(s) we ordered were severely overcooked, dry, and lacked any seasoning or flavor. Overall, the food felt bland and uninspired. For a restaurant in this condition—visibly worn and outdated—the prices should reflect that reality. We both left feeling unsatisfied, both in terms of the meal and the experience. It’s clear this place still has a loyal local following, but from our perspective, it’s in need of serious improvements to food quality, service, and value.

Google
Traditional American food and some Greek dishes. The food and service are always fantastic. The portions are very generous. The furnishings could use an update, but we don't go there to sit and visit so that doesn't matter to us. 😉

Google
I had the fried chicken livers. Plain. They had no flavor. Green beans had no seasonings. Fried okra was delicious. Waitress was very friendly. Restaurant was clean. I just wanted real food so I chose this restaurant. Not likely to come back. Gave a 4 star to be fair.

Google
I have now been twice. The people are very hospitable and friendly and the food well cooked and flavorful. Both times I enjoyed Country Style Steak, Mashed Potatoes, and lots of gravy. The steak was fork-tender and very flavorful! On my first visit I tried their cucumber salad. The cucumbers were small diced which helped them absorb the sweet/tangy dressing. Very tasty! Last night I had my usual green beans which were well cooked and nicely seasoned. Cudos to The Plaza, I look forward to many more delicious meals!

Yelp
It was an ok diner. Food was quick and tasted fresh. Nothing too exciting about the place, but that's not what it's about. It's just a down home meal for a good price. In my opinion, it's a small step up in food quality from Route 66 across the street. Like today, if I had a little time and I was by myself again, I'd probably drop in again. The server was super friendly and makes you feel very welcome and she was very attentive. I'm not a fast food guy, so this is as close to fast food as I get. Haha Give it a try if you want a down home meal!

Yelp
Basic country cooking type restaurant. Ordered carry out, marinated chicken breast, green beans and pintos. Pintos we're amazing, green beans very salty and chicken breast was a tad dry. I'll try again with a meal in the restaurant.

Yelp
I had arranged to meet my friend here for lunch on a Thursday. I'm not ashamed to admit that I chose Thursday because I had reviewed the daily specials and I really wanted the country style steak and fixings. But then her schedule changed and we met on Tuesday. Lately, I just can't get enough shrimp and they had a 12 oz portion of fried gulf shrimp, so I ordered that with my two side choices of the hot chips and my mandatory two cups of ranch dressing and the fried squash. When she sat it down in front of me, she said, "small order of shrimp etc...". I hadn't remembered seeing a size choice but I thought I had missed it. Well, check out the picture. My plate was loaded with shrimp plus hush puppies! The light breading was seasoned really well and I could only eat about half. The hot chips were consistent in their crispness and the fried squash? OMG YUMMY! I polished those right off. My friend got the philly cheesesteak and hot chips. If you're wondering how many cups of ranch she ordered, also two. You don't get to be my bestie if you order 1 ranch! I really wanted to try the chocolate eclair cake but I was stuffed. Normally, I would have taken it to go but I wasn't going straight home and it was like 300 degrees outside, so nope. The checks aren't priced but I was expecting it to be $15 for the shrimp plus the tea. It rang up as $8.99 plus the tea. That's right, they only charged me for the Senior Meal which was 8 oz of shrimp. While I don't "think" I look 65, I really appreciated the huge savings. . I've eaten other things here in the past but hadn't reviewed so here's a list of what we've had that was delicious: baked spaghetti, meatball sub, cheeseburger club and for breakfast Hubs gets the hearty Plaza Sampler and I love their French toast with bacon! The service is always friendly and fast. They never let me run out of beverage which I greatly appreciate and they offer to go cups. Check out their menu, it's HUGE.

Yelp
I first found this place about a year ago. Their food is excellent. It reminds me of a family owned restaurant where I grew up. Great comfort food. The first time I ate here I ordered a Turkey Club sandwich. Honestly, it was one of the best ones I ever ate. Since then I have been back several times and brought others. My nephew loves their appetizer called the Smotherload. He can eat like a trucker, but this "appetizer' is so large he ended up having to take main meal he ordered home (trust me, it didn't go to waste). I like that this family owned restaurant really goes out of its way to make you feel at home. If you aren't sure what to order, ask the waitresses. They have given me several recommendations and all of them have been excellent too.

Yelp
We stopped in this little place for lunch recently, and it remains as solid as ever. The menu is rather broad here offering some country cooking, a bit of Italian choices, and a few more Greek items, with a variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches, as well. We picked Country Style Steak with Stewed Apples & Fried Okra, and Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, and Fried Squash. Each item was excellent, not a single misstep. The Meatloaf is especially good here because they keep it simple with fresh ingredients, and a minimum of tomato sauce. The service is always efficient & friendly.

Yelp
After having eaten here many, many times, it is high time for me to update my review. This place is great; extremely consistent. I love the burger, they have a great (and huge!) chef salad, their souvlaki is delicious.... I could go on and on. Top that off with friendly owners and attentive staff, and what more could you ask for?

Yelp
My wife and I have been going to Plaza Restaurant for years now and they rarely disappoint. Their motto is "The best kept secret in the Triad" and I have to agree. Their food is always good, service is quick, the place is clean and busy enough to let you know they're good without being difficult to get a table at. The Great: * The club sandwiches - Doesn't matter which, packed with meat, toasted well and very filling! * The french fries - No joke, aside from Five Guys which I consider to have the best french fries of anywhere around, the fries at Plaza are right up there. I don't know where they get them but they are ALWAYS crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. They also travel in take out boxes really, REALLY well and rarely need to be re-heated * The Flank Strips & Filet Tips - Steak is cooked well and to the temp you order it. The sides are generous and varied. Good stuff. * The Beet Salad Side - So few places ever have any beets on the menu and Plaza does them proud. One of my favorite sides to their dinners. * The service - Always warm, friendly and Johnny-on-the-spot. The Okay: * Seasoning - Some sides like the veggies (steamed broccoli, green beans, etc) could be seasoned better. Sometimes these are kind of bland. The Could Be Better: * The parking - I wish they had a better parking lot. The way it's laid out it's a bit difficult to find a spot and get in and out of.

Yelp
Food was pretty good. I would order from here again. I would've gave 5 stars, but I actually had my food delivered and there's just certain things that are just better right there at the table. It's hard to eat steak off paper plates, but that would be my fault

Yelp
Horrible a waste of time and money the food was gross to say the least. The spaghetti was horrible I don't know how anyone could mess up spaghetti but it was disgusting. The waitress was phenomenal such a nice humbled person I did leave a tip because her service was great.

Yelp
Came in today for the first time with a friend of mine expecting good food and good service I guess that's where we went wrong. The food was okay but the lady Dianna who was serving us was quite rude and completely unpleasant we went from first time customers to never be back again customers. What kind of restaurant markets themselves as an Italian restaurant but doesn't even have garlic bread? It's just Texas toast with butter.

Yelp
Great breakfast and very professional service here. It's kind of hidden but it's worth searching out. We got the western omelet but took away the ham and added grilled chicken and it was really tasty and a good value as far as price.

Yelp
Great food, great service I recommend the club sandwiches they're my all time favorite. It gets busy at times but, it's worth the wait. Definitely going back it's basically a staple in Kernersville.

Yelp
The Greek Baked Chicken and Potatoes is a terrific weekly special. Combine with two of their many assorted sides and you've got a great meal.

Yelp
A solid 4 stars. Service was good and fast, well we were one of the few customers at the restaurant. The decor is out dated, old fashion and need lots of energy. I ordered a tuna salad sandwich, I'm in lent. Is was very good, no too much mayonnaise and the bread was toasted perfect. The home made chips were crispy. If they work a little more in the decor, it will be a perfect little spot for lunch.

Yelp
2nd visit was better than the first, delicious, food nice and hot and fresh! Will definitely be returning a lot more often!!!

Yelp
Id hate to think where the people posting these reviews are used to eating. Ordered a cheeseburger club, n mayo was def spoiled. Dad ordered country style steak mashed potatoes n squash. Squash was super greasy, mushy, n tasted like baby food. Potatoes out of a box or bag. Steak about 4 ounces. If this is the best kept secret please dont tell any one about it! Id rather eat a piece of fresh bologna n 2 pieces of white bread Terrible, n manager was rude as well. Definitely if asked will give a hell no i wouldnt eat there Overpriced, tiny plates, cook never washed his hands, n was drinking while cooking. I guarantee the mayo been left out, n my stomach is hurting only 15 mins after from eating 3 bites. No wander havent found an inspection grade over 93 in this area. Worst food ive had in kernersville! Be glad to put my culinary accomplishments if needed

Yelp
Food is good but grilled chicken salads are severely lacking!!! Only lettuce, onion and tomato for $10.00. Not even cheese!! Imagine that!! No excuse for not throwing on things that are in season like green pepper or carrots and how much could a table spoon of bacon bits, raisins or French fried onions actually cost. If it is meant to be someone's meal it should be a little comprehensive and appetizing.

Yelp
Outstanding restaurant. Service is fast and accurate. Menu has a large variety of foods and everything is delicious. Prices are very reasonable. You can have an excellent meal for 8 to $10.00.

Yelp
Got take out on a Groupon- was not disappointed. They have a VERY extensive menu and a HUGE list of daily specials. Food was tasty. Hubs enjoyed the chicken souvlakia and onion rings. You get a choice of two sides with almost everything and there is a huge list of those too- which changes daily. I had the Greek Salad, not as good or as big as Olympic's but tasty just the same. Service was courteous- I would eat there again.

Yelp
This is a hole in the wall type restaurant in Kernersville, I've been going here since I was a baby...new owners of course...but the quality of the the food and atmosphere has not changed. The people are wonderful and very helpful. I would highly recommend coming here if you are passing through K-vegas

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. The staff was very nice and their food was delicious. They have a huge range of food, Greek to Italian. I have tried a little bit of everything and I haven't had anything yet that I didn't like (though I'll say the baked spaghetti was bland, needed more seasoning). Overall, I really like this place. Quiet and nice place to eat, good prices.

Yelp
The food here is actually pretty good and the service is always amazing. They have a great variety of options and it is very kid friendly. The people are kind and recognize regular faces.

Yelp
Always a great choice and reasonably priced! The wait staff and management are very friendly and the food is delicious, can't beat some of the Greek specialties. Try the souvlaki!

Yelp
The service was good and the food was pretty good. I had the Gyro and was definitely satisfied with my choice. I will go back next time I want a gold quick lunch

Yelp
Stopped in for a late breakfast/early lunch. The breakfast was OK, the highlight was the hashbrowns which had a nice herb flavor. The lunch was a turkey club with plenty of turkey but the highlight of this plate was the french fries. The Plaza is a okay place to stop if you are in the area but not worthy of driving out of the way for.
