My husband and I spent a few days over the Christmas Holiday. We can't say enough about the Staff. The staff was always attentive, saying hello or good morning, good evening whenever they passed you. The holiday decorations were over the top beautiful, they even made it snow every night when we were at the outside beautiful bar. Just a gorgeous facility and spa. The pool is heated so we had to take an evening swim! Wonderful, nicely lit! We stayed in a room with two queen size comfortable beds, nice layout of the room. The entire hotel was immaculate and very comfortable and inviting. There is the never ending construction in San Antonio, no fault of the hotel's, so it took and effort to make our way to the hotel. First impression was not good because things in the area are under construction or blocked off BUT the gorgeous hotel was over the top! Reasonably priced for us, staff 5 STARS, quiet and clean! We will definitely be returning.

- Comfortably located yet tucked from busy crowds with easy and quick access to River Walk (5-7 minutes walk). Several small eateries a block away in La Villita Historic Village. |- The Plaza’s atmosphere is thoughtfully tranquil! Enticing all senses leaving a lasting impression. Well curated! Boutique- intimate setting suitable for families with unparalleled service. |- Upon arrival and throughout stay, ALL staff were genuinely hospitable and exceptionally pleasant. They’re communicative, not overbearing, genuinely helpful and welcoming.|- Stayed in a high floor corner double queen (655), pool facing with balcony. We found solace in the room’s aesthetic and well thought amenities (ie toiletries, ample pillows, restful beds etc.). Not only was the room well prepared and stocked- but there was an amazingly relaxing aroma that persisted throughout our stay!|- Noise throughout guest floor were nonexistent. |- Well worth our time and effort selecting and staying at the Plaza. As future opportunities present, we will undoubtedly select to stay here as our San Antonio go to!|- While there were private events occurring throughout the main floor, it didn’t interfere with our access to the heated pool and fitness center. Which by the way, are well equipped and designed.||*The Plaza was an experience in on itself, but it was truly the people that made it a memorable, peaceful, beautiful, relaxing, fun stay!

Unfortunately, several serious issues occurred that have left us extremely disappointed and concerned. First, we paid specifically for a garden-view room, which we did not receive. This is a basic issue of not delivering what was advertised and paid for. Second, we experienced what I believe to be clear discriminatory treatment at the Corrine. We had dinner reservations for 8:45 PM at the Towers of Americas. It was 8:00 PM so we headed to Corrine with the intention of having a drink beforehand. My husband attempted to get the attention of the bartender, Justin, and walked from one end of the bar to the other twice because he was being ignored. When Justin finally acknowledged him, my husband was told to wait—even though Justin was no longer serving anyone else at the bar and everyone already had their drinks. While my husband was waiting, an Anglo couple approached the bar. Before they were even fully at the bar, Justin immediately asked them what they wanted to drink. The gentleman from that couple informed Justin that my husband (wearing a cowboy hat) had been waiting and was there first. Justin dismissed this entirely and proceeded to ask again what he wanted to drink. The gentleman again told him my husband was there first. There was no reasonable explanation for this behavior. The only conclusion I could draw was that my husband was deliberately ignored due to racial bias. This was humiliating, upsetting, and completely unacceptable. Racism of any kind should never be tolerated, especially in an establishment that serves the public. Lastly, we were charged twice for our stay. After returning home, I noticed an additional $200 charge on my statement. I called that same night and was instructed to call again in the morning. At 9:00 AM, I spoke with Israel, the manager, who stated he would resolve the issue by the end of the day. While charging my card was done quickly, the refund process has not been handled with the same urgency. Due to these combined experiences—failure to provide the room we paid for, discriminatory treatment, and billing errors—I would not recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Hotel rooms are fantastic! Beautiful design and comfortable beds. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Nice bar and breakfast area. We did not use the pool but it looked nice. Would definitely stay here again

We stayed for 4 nights , we just checked out today. First off, vallet is required at $60 per night! When we asked for our truck to go to work on Saturday, it was covered with this white chalk spray residue, we have no idea what it was, but it ruined our new wipers from the thickness. (We couldn't say anything at the moment since I had to leave to work) but immediately took it to wash just to be safe. Ive attached photos to this post. Wednesday-Friday ,we ate at their only restaurant which was fine, great service but very slow. So the 3rd night we had food delivered to us and we wanted to enjoy the outdoor part of the hotel so we went to sit in their patio area, half way through our food, a manager comes out and tells us we cant eat here . It was completely empty, bar closed, but the lights still on in their patio area, and we thought it be cute to eat our dinner outside (which is all they promote for that hotel which is why we booked them) he could of easily let us finish our food and told us but next time y'all cant eat here and that would of been perfectly fine. We went back to the room and called it a night after being embarrassed like that. The rooms are pretty and modern, but those walls are thin, and you can hear everything next to you. Also, our room, when you enter, you enter straight into the restroom and then the bedroom 😂 We've been staying at the jw Marriott resort since 2015 and plenty of other luxurious hotels and have Never had a problem with eating outside food or sitting wherever we'd like! We paid easily over $1500 for these days and we knew the price which we didnt mind (since it was also my husband's bday week) but the "luxury " advertised was not there at all! I were hoping to have a relaxed and stress-free week here with my husband, but that was not the case. There are a few other things that we didnt like, but oh well, its done. Definitely won't be staying here again.

Hotel 4.5 stars. Alexander at the front gets 10 stars!!!! He was the friendliest and went over and above to make my check in experience great. Every hotel needs an Alexander to greet and assist their guests. I was surprised to enter my room through the bathroom but it was not an issue and the bathroom is large and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and I loved the Nespresso machine. Although I did not have the opportunity to use it, the balcony was really nice. The only drawback for me is ice is not easily available and you have to call guest services. This is a really nice hotel and I would certainly stay here again.

Google
I had a welcome card with a complimentary drink at the hotel bar. The room was spectacular from the soft robes to the Nespresso machine and with a great view of the Tower of the Americas. Dinner at Corinne was impeccable. They even have a scent unique to the hotel that is available for purchase. fell in love with the Plaza and I would definitely go back!

I had an amazing stay at Plaza San Antonio Hotel & Spa! The place is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly located, but what truly makes the experience special is the staff. The guys at the bar and the front desk are absolutely the best! They’re friendly, attentive, and always make you feel welcome. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the pool area is lovely, and the atmosphere is relaxing from the moment you walk in. You can tell everyone here really cares about guest service. I’ll definitely be coming back, highly recommended!

Yelp
I enjoyed going through a garden oasis to get the Plaza pool. I got there at the perfect time to get a couple of loungers and relax by the pool. I love the Sunday $5 pool, $5 bites, and $5 drinks concept. They were able to get me out of the house on a Sunday for that during football season! I like the music, it's not too loud but relaxing. I enjoyed relaxing by the pool and thankful that they opened it up and offer the day pass through Resort Pass.

Yelp
Rooms were clean and quiet. Just far enough away from the River Walk but could still walk. Drinks at poolside bar were good! Still having a bit of an issue getting a refund for being overcharged for the stay. Disappointing

Yelp
As a 15 year plus downtown resident, this is our backyard. With 30 plus years in the hospitality field (now retired) I feel I can bring you real insight into our locations. The good, the bad and the ugly. If we run across a serious issue, I will always go directly to management and not post it. I truly believe you always must give management an opportunity to correct a serious issue. If not corrected and or just ignored, then I feel it is correct to inform the public - professionally. No establishment is perfect. I will bring to you smaller hiccups we may have come across. I will rarely comment on the taste of food - being bad, as that is a very personal thing. My wife and I disagree on taste of food and wine, no one is wrong or right. Now if the food is on fire, burned, under/overcooked to our requests, that would be mentioned. With that said, what a jewel we have found. It was remolded and had not been back (a year ago) It's like you're not in San Antonio. Great vibe, music, food and drinks. Customer service 5 plus. Stephanie's customer service oozed out of her. The hotel is lucky to have her! You can tell it was in her DNA, and yep... to come to find out her mom has worked on property for 20 years! We will be back for sure. Not the cheapest in the area and at a hotel. We didn't mind paying a bit more for the quality of the food and drinks and of course the elevation of service from Stephanie.

Yelp
My family and I recently did a staycation at Plaza San Antonio Hotel and we had the most amazing time! If you are wondering why did we choose this hotel from all the other options we have in San Antonio, it is because of the way this hotel is built. The design and atmosphere it offers is like no other in downtown San Antonio. Even though it is considered to be a hotel in the downtown area, they are closer to Southtown which gives this hotel a little bit more privacy compared to others. Also, as soon as you enter their amazing outdoor area where the pool and spa is located, you feel like you have been transported to another city. Everything from the food, to the rooms and customer service was on point. As you all may imagine we spent a lot of time in the pool and because it was Memorial Day weekend it was extra busy. The only thing I wasn't super excited about was the DJ they had out at the pool on Saturday for Memorial Day. The pool was full of families or people just trying to relax and read, and the DJ just made no sense at all. It was extremely loud and definitely removed the "relaxing" experience from the pool. I just wish the hotel paid a little more attention to their demographic and shutdown the DJ a little sooner since it was clearly not appealing to most of the folks out there. Anyhow! Regardless of the music, the experience was still five stars! Big shoutout to the team for room service which went above and beyond on all of my requests. They would even call me five minutes after I got my food to make sure I didn't need anything else, which I think was super thoughtful. Overall I had a wonderful experience and I'll definitely be coming back here for my next staycation.

Yelp
Stayed here for one night and this place was so nice! Tucked in the middle of downtown San Antonio across from the kimpton hotel. The hotel had a lovely oasis pool that stays open until 10 and i believe it's heated. They have cabanas and an outside bar to order cocktails. The room we stayed in had two queen beds, fridge, water and an espresso machine. Shower was amazing along with the black light curtains. Will be back !

Yelp
I can't say enough about the exceptional customer services at the front desk Helena and Izzy who brought items to my room at night. Izzy, The one regret was I couldn't get cash to leave a tip for my Izzy. The rooms were cleaned spotless and toiletries were replaced every day. The bar and restaurant had a wonderful selection of items. The grounds were clean and had a relaxing ambiance. Donna Anderson

Yelp
(INSERT LOVE GIFs here).. That's all I have to say. As soon as I walked in, the aroma set the tone. I can't remember what it was, but it was so pleasant that I HAD to compliment both the manager and person checking me in on it. Come to find out, it's a specialty scent they sell on both a candle and spray, which I may look into purchasing during a return visit to the city. Now the property is gorgeous; plants everywhere!! It also has an oasis, outside bars, plenty of areas to wind down and relax, nice pool and gym. There are two spas that sit in the garden area, and although I didn't go in, the little "houses" were too cute. My room didn't disappoint either. I was (only) on the 3rd floor, but my balcony (also super cute) overlooked the outside eateries. The bathroom was huge, and the room had cute little touches that I adored. I also received a welcome and appreciation note for my loyalty from the GM . I can not remember the last time that happened. I could go on and on, but I think my point was conveyed. It's a great hotel and a wonderful addition to the Marriott autograph collection. Platinum members get a $30 daily food and beverage voucher (per guest) per day, AND additional points....an amazing perk! So you'll know I wasn't paid for this review (ha), my two points of feedback are the pillows on the beds were a little more firm than I would've liked, and a lot of people go into the gym to take the bottled waters....they may want to look into that...but that's it. ALL staff I encountered were amazing, and I'll definitely be back! Great job with this property!

Yelp
I was lucky enough to spend two nights at the Plaza San Antonio Hotel, which is located in the heart of downtown San Antonio. What a beautiful hotel, with several restaurant options on site. Indoor and outdoor. Several bars and conference rooms on site too. The pool is absolutely gorgeous with cute Cabanas for you to use. Ideal for much needed shade. The staff could not be more sweet and helpful. The porters, front desk, housekeepers all were outstanding ambassadors for the brand. My room was located on the 7th floor with a balcony that you can sit out on. However there is major construction going on in the adjoining street so.. the balcony use was out. Apparently the construction will be ongoing for sometime. The room was very spacious with a nice big shower and the most comfortable king bed. The overall stay was outstanding.

Yelp
I cannot stop talking about my experience at this hotel, and I'm already trying to plan my next staycation here! My husband and I never return to a hotel twice, but this place is a must! The only slight that I'll get out of the way first, and it's only worth noting as an FYI...Valet. The staff truly hustle, but are overwhelmed by the number of people who choose to valet. There is an open parking lot close by for a fraction of the cost, so you might consider parking there if you're so inclined. Now, back to my glowing review to match my experience. The hotel offered an experience that left a lasting impression. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted genuine warmth and impeccable service. Every staff member, from the front desk to the housekeeping team, were friendly and dedicated to making our stay unforgettable. It was evident that customer care is a top priority! The rooms are a haven; modern, sleek design with all the amenities you could ask for. Oddly you enter through the restroom, but that easy to get over once you take in the full room itself. It's beautiful. Despite being in the heart of San Antonio, staying here truly felt like we'd stepped into another time and place--a true oasis of tranquility that makes you forget where you are. I cannot recommend this place enough. You can truly check in and not leave the premises again until checkout (which is what we did!), enjoying two restaurants and bars, an amazing pool, and the beautiful spa!

Yelp
We did a staycation in July to take advantage of the pool and the hotel downtown. I used to stay at this hotel at least once a year prior to the renovation and I will say the upgrades were nice! The lobby and everything were great, however, there is construction outside of the hotel and it is hard to get to neighboring businesses from the front door. You have to walk ALL the way AROUND the hotel! Not ok! The Valet employees told us about a "walk through" the construction, which was all fun and games until someone fell on a piece of gravel in the middle of the street! The pool was nice, the staff was attentive and the amenities at the pool were good. The rooms are completely revamped! the beds were SUPER comfy, there was a mini fridge in the room and a Nescafe to make espresso with detailed instructions. And there were robes to use during your stay. However, it is super weird that you walk into the room and you are in the bathroom! Like there is not entry way, the door to the room opens into the bathroom! If you can get over that, the property is A+.

Yelp
This hotel's location really is not the most ideal and the size is quiet small. Some of the design choices for the room were not thought out well. Pocket door for the bathroom is never preferred but also why on earth did they made it translucent? Who doesn't want to be sitting on the toliet for all to see? The HVAC system is terrible, takes about 5-6 hours for the room to hit the desired set temp. The pool is extremely small, I've seen bigger pools in peoples backyards. The pillows are TERRIBLE, none of us got a good night sleep the entire time we were there. The friendliness of the staff was the only good thing about this hotel.

Dari B.

Yelp
The hotel was lovely, clean, and had plenty of areas to just relax. However, the best part was the amazing service from Cassandra at the front desk. The ultimate professional and willing to go above and beyond for guests.

Yelp
we had an amazing stay! very modern hotel with a restaurant & bar! everyone were so nice & accommodating. We checked out their pool & it was nice, although it was really hot that I wish it wasn't heated. Louis helped us get our car since it's valet only (about $55 per night) - he also helped us throw out a few items & grabbed us two cold waters while we loaded the truck with our luggage. Great guy! Pet friendly hotel however, you have to walk about half a mile to take your dog to do their business since there's a lot of construction going on around the hotel. I didn't mind it since it let me enjoy a quiet morning & night. The only downside was all the construction going on across the way - they're building another hotel but overall very comfortable stay.

Yelp
The room was clean and smelled fine. The room set up was not ideal for friends as we walked into the bathroom area and then the sleeping area. There was ONE ice machine for all guests that was always empty as it was New Year's weekend. When we requested items for the room we did not receive them so learned to ask as we entered the lobby. The restaurant was not crowded and even though we had a reservation we waited. Service was barely OK and the food took a long time to arrive. It was very expensive and just OK. Valets really want to park your car but are very nice. The grounds are well kept and spacious.

Yelp
Spent my Valentines weekend here and it was the perfect little getaway. After running around town my date and I ended our night in the dinning area or the bar where we could fully relax and retreat to our room for rest of the night. The overall stay at the hotel was excellent however the only thing to note, is there is only one road in to the entrance that can be blocked by traffic and can be cut off by emergency vehicles such as firetruck or ambulances.

Yelp
I don't know what it is about this hotel, but I will try to explain it. This is my second time staying here after an especially difficult training and this place feels like a refuge. It is tucked away with trees hanging over the pool and restaurant. I guess I love a cozy vibe with supremely comfortable furniture and low lighting. I can't even say I enjoyed San Antonio that much but this hotel was memorable. I remember the smell of this place and how deeply at ease I felt and still feel as I am waiting for my room service. The design is very soothing and the staff is so accommodating. I requested a bathtub and they let me have one despite not having many. They even had complimentary bath salts which was amazing because in France, I had to hunt down bath salts like they were illegal. The massage i got at the spa last time was exceptional although I wish they had some soaking tubs. I also got my nails done last time, but not this time. I am not staying long enough. They also have laundry services and I just felt so taken care of and at ease. The food was also delicious. As I am writing, I am still trying to find that je ne sais quoi about this place. Perhaps because it's also very quiet. They seem to have a lot of noise cancelling furniture with carpet and wood everywhere. I am sense oriented and somehow this hotel makes everything feel secluded and peaceful, like an oasis in this Texas desert. I want to capture this vibe and recreate it in my apartment. Tell me your secret.

Will I Am C.

Yelp
Was there for a Wedding event at the much more expensive hotel next door to the Plaza. The room was nice, comfy and the staff was accommodating. and helpful. The on premise restaurant Corinne was very fancy, and the prices were as well. The menu choices were limited especially at breakfast. Lunch was ok, Burgers were good, and I had a Chicken Club which basically subbed a chicken breast for the burger, And had trouble finishing it. Overall the price of the room is comparable to many others in the area and the service was great.

Yelp
Good hotel. The staff are friendly and the hotel has a modern feel to it. It was remodeled recently. The only complaint I have is there is no parking. The pictures on the site show a parking lot across the street from the entrance. That parking lot is no longer there. Valet parking is mandatory as there are no other options. Cost is $54 per night. Other than that it's a great hotel.

Yelp
Gorgeous addition to the hotel options in San Antonio. The valet and check in staff are so friendly. The rooms are spacious, stylish and clean. We usually stay at the St Anthony but the Plaza might become our new go to. We're excited to try out the breakfast in the morning.

Yelp
We just stayed at the Plaza Hotel San Antonio for Mother's Day weekend with our son and his family. The staff was amazing and worked effortlessly to ensure our experience was special. Kudos to Kolby the Front Desk Manager who set the bar high from the moment we walked into the hotel. The ambiance, the drinks, the food, the room, and the pool were top tier, we didn't want to leave. We ended up staying an extra night just because. Thank you everyone- We'll see you in 2 weeks!!

Yelp
Great piña colada. So beautiful. Cleanest hotel I've stayed in. Love the tea ceremony to start the day. Friendliest staff I've met.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful stay here! The hotel is beautiful and the entire staff is incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful. We can't wait to go back and stay here again when the pool and spa are complete and open. Fitness center is excellent with top notch equipment, well stocked with water bottles and fresh towels. Warren at the front desk was so accommodating and friendly. Luis, Hunter, Louis, and Raul really went above and beyond. We were there for the TMEA All State convention and needed the car numerous times. Every time they were there to open the door and help us with all the music equipment and bags. They provided friendly conversation and great recommendations. Tracy in the restaurant was very nice and gave us a great lunch experience. Location is fantastic and walking distance to convention center, Alamo, riverwalk and many excellent restaurants. By far the best experience at any hotel we have stayed at. Hospitality at its finest. I highly recommend!

Ileana O.

Yelp
You can tell Zander and josh have a lot of fun doing their job and it makes a simple valet experience that much better. They were genuine and also made sure that we were set for the road by offering waters. Very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be going back.
