The Pleasant Storage Room is the absolute best! I came here for a large dinner party and the service was fantastic! The servers were quick and sharp and did not get one order wrong. They were very knowledgeable of the food and drinks that this restaurant had to offer. They have a Rum list that is outstanding! I am not much of a rum drinker, but I told my server what I liked in a beverage and she brought me the perfect cocktail! Their Yucca Fries are delicious! Their jerk chicken is also very juicy and flavorful! I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice meal. I would recommend you go early or make a reservation because they get really full really fast.

My favorite cocktail in town is made here --their Old Cuban. It's perfectly balanced with sweet, sour, and bitter flavors. The food was good but I really just didn't like the small serving sizes. We shared plates of ceviche, empanadas, and plantains. Random side note, their dips were served in awkwardly shaped shot glasses that make it difficult for you to stick your chip in and scoop. The glossary at the end of their menu is really cute. I will always go back for the Old Cuban!

I really wanted to love this place being I'm from the Caribbean and love rum. However, their service and high prices keep me form giving them a higher rating. The Cuba Libre is delicious, crafted with house-made cola. The happy hour jerk chicken is a generous portion that is nicely spice and blackened. Some of the drinks tend to be on the strong side or suffer an overabundance of bitters. The drinks are pricey for what they are. The decor is unmemorable. The service is confusing and slow with many different waiters serving your table. But I'm still willing to give them a 3rd and 4th chance...because I love the concept of a rum bar.

This very unassuming spot is worth finding. It's right between Fado and Cedar Room, and the sign isn't super conspicuous. It has a dark, mellow atmosphere inside, but they specialize in Cuban food and rum drinks. The bartenders are all pretty cool and happy to chat a bit if the bar isn't too busy. Haven't had the food yet, but others in the bar were raving. Check this spot for a good cocktail and conversation with friends.

Work downtown? Be sure to visit Pleasant Storage Room for happy hour. I instantly fell in love with the Cuban themed accents and general atmosphere. The serving wares and general presentation of the food made for an authentic experience. We ordered a bowl of Commodore punch and it was a heavenly concoction–simple, yet complex. Be warned! The punch is strong. To balance out the alcohol, be sure to try some of the delicious street food options. The Mitas (popcorn), plantanas, empanadas, and ceviche were among our favorites. Flavors were savory, tropical, and fresh. A great compliment to the hot summer months ahead.

Pleasant Storage Room is a... dare I say pleasant... refuge from the general chaos of 4th Street. The bathroom alone will leave you longing for your flowered bathing cap and vintage mumu. The street food menu is perfect for trying a little bit of everything, mostly because you will want to try everything. The food keeps things casual, with fried plantains in a paper bag, hand-held empanadas, and a Gran Cubano that will make you salivate. Although the drinks are on the pricey side, they're made of high-quality ingredients that are meant for sipping... and sighing. It's a great place to sit back, eat constantly, and have a little taste of "island time."

While I was initially excited to try Pleasant Storage Room based on the good reviews, my experience at Pleasant Storage Room was an unpleasant one. I suggested getting dinner here before a night out at some bars on the west side of downtown when my friends were visiting us one weekend. I thought this would be a good spot to grab tasty cocktails and small bites to share. Unfortunately, we ended up having a pretty lousy experience and I felt bad for suggesting the restaurant. Our waitress was the main reason for our negative experience. First, she took a long time to even address our table and take drink orders, which was a bad first impression. After 10 min she came back with some of the drinks (not all) and took our food order. Another 15 min went by and some of the appetizers start showing up at our table. The missing drinks for our party had still not arrived. Food kept arriving at random times and we were not able to get our waitress's attention to ask about the drinks. Mind you - she should have been checking that our food came out correctly. Finally we asked another waitstaff to get our waitress for us and I could see the other 2 drinks being hastily made at the bar. My mixed punch was made in such a hurry that my glass was served only half way full. To summarize: I received a $9 half full glass of weak, sugary rum punch, that took 30 min to get from the bar. The entrees came for everyone and I was equally unimpressed. I ordered the wood grill shrimp and there were only 4 shrimp and lots of flavorless rice. My boyfriend ordered the pork entree and that was decently seasoned, but was also a small portion. Not surprisingly we sat with empty plates and glasses for a good 20 min after finishing our meal before the waitress noticed us again. As a final impression she awkwardly said "wow you guys ate all of the food". Yes, that's why we came to this establishment? To eat and drink here despite your obvious attempts to prevent that from happening. I've heard this place is worth visiting during happy hour, but don't expect good service or a good value otherwise.

This place was a pleasant change of pace from the 4th street area. The large variety of cocktails are all refreshing and perfect for this heat. I also loved the way the food was served street style. I got a lobster dish which was amazing and the ceviches were top notch. I'd definitely check it out again.
