Pleasure Platters

My experience at Pleasure Platters has been great both times that I've been. I oridingally followed the owner on IG before she had a storefront and lamented the fact that I couldn't get my hands on a red bag back then due to my work schedule. But I've made it my business to get to their storefront and show my support. Not to mention that they've got the stamp of approval from one of my favorite Philly Foodies, JL Jupiter (JLJupiterTV on YouTube). The owner, Kindle, is a sweetie who was there during both of my trips working the front. I've had the pleasure of speaking with her both times and watching her interact with her customers. She is truly a genuine person and I've seen her treat everyone that comes through the door as a friend regardless if it's their first time or if they're a regular. I did place my orders online for pickup and I would definitely recommend it, they even have a code for first timers that gives you a discount on your meal. You can also opt into their text alerts and get notified of upcoming deals and specials. My order was ready at my pickup time, literally being bagged when I walked in and was double checked to ensure my complete order was accounted for. My food was delicious and I have nary a complaint. My go to is the Dungeness clusters with the colossal shrimp (that are actually colossal) with extra broccoli and corn. I'm not a potato girl, so I usually request 'no potatoes' in the notes and they can usually accommodate my request. I wouldn't mind if they're not able to because they do get swamped and might not have the time for that kind of customization. Doesn't bother me either way. Pleasure Platters works with A.N.Y.A.S. (Absolutely Not Your Average Sweets, @absolutelynot_ on IG) for some of the desserts they carry and let me tell you...that butter pecan cake slice is MY FAVORITE. I'm pretty much guaranteed to order that slice with my order going forward. I would highly recommend giving Pleasure Platters a try, and consider picking up some of the seasoning for yourself to spice up some of your meals. Yup, they sell that too, in mild and hot 😉.

I always say so&so have the best crabs, but let me tell yall how @pleasureplatters has me hooked. 1st of all... can we get into the seasoning and butter sauce. Everything about it screams I'm different. I can't describe the seasoning. It's not salty at all, almost like a unique version of oldbay, but without the high sodium side effects and the butter sauce provided is extremely flavorful. I opened my crabs, cleaned them, poured the butter and and it was a done deal. My new #1 spot for my crabs.

Worth the Drive! I placed an online order and you know how food sometimes doesn’t look like the photos online…. Well, that’s not the case for Pleasure Platters! What you see, IS WHAT YOU GET. Crab clusters were juicy and seasoned well. My platter came with broccoli, corn, and potatoes. This is an ultimate flex on the competition, who often charging upwards of $12 for veggies! I also ordered, the Lobster Bisque, it’s literally to die for- best that you’ll ever taste. Outside of the food being good, the owner and her staff are kind. The atmosphere of the store is relaxed and you are always greeted when you come in. Great customer service always elevates the experience. Go visit the store! Order in-store or order ahead online, like I did! They also have delivery services available!

I was told this place had good seafood and I've seen it on line and the news, well yesterday I finally when a got a platter. The young lady at the counter was very helpful. I placed my order Dungeness w/real colossal shrimp. While I waited I asked another young lady what kind of cake was in the refrigerator and I got a slice of lemon very good, then the young lady that took my order said I need to try the butter pecan cake excellent!! Everything that I got from the establishment was excellent. I will be back!

Best curry salmon ever not the fastest service but well worth the wait. Tried them for the first time and came back on payday!!!! Best freshest colossal shrimp have had yet. Pricy but again worth the cost once you taste the food. And don't sleep on the dessert!! Lemon Pound was on point!

I was excited and expecting some fresh shrimp. But all I had was breaded shrimp and the breading was more than the shrimps uggh… I had the 12 piece shrimp platter and fries and coleslaw. Which both the fries and the saw was good. Definitely disappointed

The food is just average. I ordered the mixed fried seafood combinations. The batter used to fry the seafood lacks flavor. You can't taste any spices except salt. The seasoning comes from the 3 different sauces. You have a cocktail sauce which is ok. ( I believe it is bought commercially.) The tarter sauce is good. It tastes homemade. And, the 3rd sauce is a spicy thousand island sauce. It is different. I was disappointed with them because of what they charge for the food, and they don't have fresh lemon wedges. The platter comes with seasoned curly fries and fake crab and shrimp salad. The service is awful. The place is strictly take-out. The restaurant is located in a poor neighborhood, and the decor of the restaurant fits right in.

I was in the area and wanted some seafood. All i can say is if you want some deliciousness, support this beautiful buisness! I ordered dungeness crab clusters, shrimp, mussels and veggies. Everything was seasoned to perfection and cooked perfectly. Cocktail sauce was on point and next time im in the area i will absolutely come back. Owner and employees had amazing energy also. Satisified guest!!! Thanks so much. Dinner was delicious. 😁

A friend recommended Pleasures Platters to me. I stopped in this weekend and ordered a Large Seaslaw and Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo. The Seaslaw was incredible. I ate the entire container on the ride home. The Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo was delicious as well. It was packed with well seasoned Colossal shrimp and grilled chicken breast. I recommend you order in advance. My order took sometime to prepare but worth the wait. I'll definitely be back!

This was my second time ordering from Pleasure Platters and they did not disappoint. The crab legs were very clean, flavorful and plump and juicy. The shrimp were HUGE and piping hot. Go get you some...

Alright, let's take a trip to get the lowdown on Pleasure Platters, a seafood spot on the north side of Philly! I've been following them on social media for some time. I had really high hopes because all of the reviews were so great but since I'm rarely on this side of the city, it took a while for me to check them out. Is it worth the hype or not? I got my chance to taste and see. Please keep in mind this is based on my and my mom's taste buds. You may love it. First off, let's talk vibes. Pleasure Platters is a neighborhood joint. It is not a hang-out spot, you will not take your boo for a fancy dinner. However, they do have an option for a date night meal, if you are looking for something to have a nice night in for two. The fact that they've upgraded from someone's kitchen to an actual building is a solid flex though, gotta give 'em props for that. Mother in the front was nice. She did her best to take care of everyone. The staff was also nice. They get a plus for that. Especially since, some brown family businesses get bad rep for bad customer service. I can say nothing but good things about the customer service! Now, onto the main event: the food. We snagged ourselves a crab leg platter, and let's just say it didn't exactly set our taste buds on fire. Based on everything I saw on social media I was expecting more. It's like, you take a bite expecting fireworks, but all you get is a sparkler on a rainy day. It was ok but it didn't make us do that oohweee dance. You know...the one you get when you take a bite of granny's cornbread, mac n cheese with aunty's collards! Yeah, that dance. But hold up, wait a minute, there was something that had some yummy in it! There's a shining star and it goes by the name of seafood slaw. Seriously, Mom got some crackers and went to town. So, in conclusion, we will travel for food but Mom and I would not trek back over there just to get a platter, however, we might get some of that seafood slaw if we happen to be in the area.

2nd time patronizing this store for some reason it did not taste the same , I bought the clam chowder this time , kind of disappointed , it didn't really taste that great , too thick and not seasoned good , but I always enjoy the pita bread that comes with it . The colossal shrimp are so good and the veggies are done right , not soggy but the sauce tasted , like tomatoes to me , was not a old bay seafood type of buttery goodness this time . They messed my order up this time and forgot items I had paid for , didn't realize till I received it at home , they did give me a refund , store is small only at the window with stools type seating . . Otherwise it's a good reasonable place to grab seafood and the quality is awesome

Foods always amazing, and very reasonably priced. I love the portion sizes. You have to try their desserts.

I drive a hour to get a platter and I'm Not a fan. The flavor was Not hitting. I would not recommend. I will give them a 3 out of 5.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. The salmon & peppers, the curry salmon, the to die for chicken & shrimp Alfredo, the curly fries, the sea slaw, the fish were all fantastic. My friends and I traveled from South Philly multiple times during the month. The food is very tasty and top quality. Kudos to the staff. Everyone that I've come in contact with are all very pleasant and polite.

OH MY GOODNESS. THIS IS THE BEST SEAFOOD I'VE EVER HAD. I live in Los Angeles, but visiting family in Philadelphia. These are the best crabs I've ever had. The serving size is so generous. The sauce and flavor are amazing. Please check them out, you won't be disappointed.

Chicken and shrimp alfredo $27 was trash. The container was half empty. Smfh. NEVER AGAIN!

The food is consistently delicious. The shrimp are the biggest you have ever had. My 11 year old grandson never wanted to try any soups, but he loves the lobster bisque. This is a must see and eat location.
