"A smoky, chilly working class joint," Tony describes of this restaurant. "A golden pancake, heaped with chicken livers, and covered, nay, drowned, with a rich, deeply satisfying sauce with bone marrow." He also tried the venison stew and the HUGE schnitzel this place is famous for.
Bourdain had: schnitzel with potato chips, beer, pancake covered with chicken liver and bone marrow sauce, venison stew.
Can’t recommend it enough. If you want something for an adequate price, simple, tasty and enormous portion - this is the place for you. Worth the ride. Cook is friendly, knows English and is supportive. Even had a nice interaction with the locals.

I had to go somewhere relevant for the date that it was (June 25th) and scooted my way out to this spot. I was keen for the Cordon Bleu but when I saw the actual size (like a kids football) and the fact they were already cooked and sitting, I went for the schnitzel instead. The portions are gargantuan. You will not finish it in one sitting unless you share. By what the locals were doing, it's fine to ask for a bag/container to bring your leftovers away (Google reviews has it as the 'Schnitzel Bag of Shame')
The quality of the schnitzel was very good.
If you're visiting from out of town, I suggest not going during the typical lunch rush-hour (12-1:30).

Absurdly huge schnitzels for a decent price. We only went here because of an Anthony Bourdain episode where he ate there. The schnitzel is okay but its pretty obvious that people only go there because its enormous and noone actually eats all of it. Would recommend for the memes but other than that dont bother.

A little out of the way from the centre of town, this place is worth the trip! We came here for their massive sertéskaraj rántva, huge pork cutlet and it was beyond massive. Weighing in at almost a kilo, it was more than enough for two people. It was piping hot, fresh, and must be eaten with a pickled paprika on the side. Shout out Anthony Bourdain for the recommendation, this was worth the trek out of town! Ordered the chicken schnitzel and chips and 2 pickles to share with my partner and it was far more than enough food, could’ve fed a family of 4 from the size of it. Excellent price for the portion size compared to closer to town joints. I’m very happy with my experience 👏

It's a retro eatery with limited menü but typical Hungarian cousins. They have large portions of meals, as Anthony Bourdain was amazed by it sizes . It's true. I eat a pacal a Hungarian tripe dish some of the locals favorite.Second time I was eating an other Hungarian dish called vadas, it was just ok, but ain't outstanding. Besides, I recommend this place if you really wanna go in an eatery from a 60 is 70 aera wibe.

It’s not fine dining, but it’s not meant to be! Big ol’ giant schnitzel. Very delicious and good price. Get the sauce for dipping too, takes it to a new level. Feeds 3-4 people easy. I wanted to try more dishes but we couldn’t even finish this one dish.

Traditional Hungarian fried food. The best fried chicken, pork, gordon bleu IN THE WORLD. But the portion is huge but AMAZING TASTY.
