The 14 Essential Boba Tea Shops in San Francisco Right Now | Eater SF

"A favorite for those walking the path from Union Square to North Beach via Chinatown. Whereas other shops pride themselves on lots of options and customization, simple and straightforward is the approach at Plentea. Heavy hitters at Chinese-born Henry Tang’s shop include the Sea Salt Crema Oolong and the CoffMilk Tea made with Cafe du Monde." - Paolo Bicchieri

Where to Eat and Drink Near Your Financial District Office | Eater

"For when you need a light snack or afternoon pickmeup, Plentea is it. This is not your average milk or bubble tea; instead, Plentea uses the tea of your choosing (oolong, green, or black) and adds fresh toppings into the mix, like taro pudding, chia seeds, egg pudding, aloe, and red bean. You’ll also feel good making Plentea into your weekly routine, as they’ve been using eco-friendly glass bottles long before everyone else threw out their plastic straws." - Vox Creative

Came here for a matcha latte and was a bit disappointed I really love the glass bottles though and have yet to try anything else I got an extra sweet iced matcha latte with honey boba, to me the taste wasn’t great it didn’t taste very smooth Unfortunately boba guys matcha is better which is kind of sad! Still want to come back and try some of their other items though! Service was quick and friendly and prices were reasonable!

Visited after seeing good reviews while visiting the city. I went with high hopes because of all the good reviews and it did NOT disappoint. I really, REALLLYY LOVE boba, so I've had my fair share of them and, no kidding, I think this place tops almost all other places I've gone to. Definitely in the top 5, maybe even 3. I had the matcha drink and since matcha is one of my obsessions in life, I've also had a fair share of them, but the drink was really good, without bitterness, and the texture of the boba was PERFECT. There was only 1 staff taking both the orders AND making them, but she did a very good job at doing both, especially making the drink part. I also really liked the fact that they give you the drink in a hard glass bottle, which is not only environmental-friendly, but also gave me exactly what I needed as I was looking to buy this kind of bottle for my house, so everything about this visit was perfect. I just wish this place had a location in the Valley in LA, which is where I live, so I can go every day.....

Google
One of my go to's whenever I'm in the area! Highly recommend their grape fruit tea with sea salt crema (blueberry is my second choice)! The tea flavors here are better than the other boba shops. I still opt for 0% sugar, but y'all may want to go a little bit higher. Sustainability is one of their core values. They offer glass bottles at the same price. You can get 10% off your drink if you reuse it!

Google
Good atmosphere, great decor, I was amazed on how this place looked before I walked in thinking I’m getting the best boba ever, got the taro drink, uses “real taro”. I don’t know if it was me but that drink was disgusting, i honestly love taro drinks but I couldn’t finish this one. It tasted like expired milk and not sweet at all it was flavorless. I had to throw it out :(

Google
Cool "plant" milk tea offerings. Variety of flavors of drinks made with quality ingredients. Teas have deep flavor and boba is fresh. They offer drinks in glass containers which you can re-use when you bring them back to the shop.

Google
Fantastic! The service was wonderful these ladies are so nice and polite. Drinks are fresh and hit the spot. There is room to sit and sip or of course to just take on the go as well.

Google
Plentea was one of the items with no detail description on their menu. Since I was not allergic to any food, I could order this mysterious drink worry free. I might be wrong but I believe the type of tea was Oolong milk tea. It was layered with lightly whipped cream, Oreo cookie crumbs, and topped with mint. I chose glass bottle, 75% sweetness, and honey tapioca topping. It was not that much different from other milk teas on the first few sips. The after taste, however, was surprisingly brisk. It was very refreshing and addictive in a good way.

Google
🧋Best Boba I had till now. They offer fresh fruit teas, super friendly staff. 🍇The grapefruit tea with was super refreshing, had a hint of cinnamon too. (Isn't that premium!) 🍊 The staff also offer sugar suggestions for the best taste for each fruit tea. Tip: Do add some sugar for the citrus fruit teas. 🐉 The red dragonfruit tea was thick without ice. Ice recommended for this one. 🌱Also, the bottles they give are great for plant propagation. 🍽️ Hardly 4 tables to sit and drink. A small bright place. Mostly gen Z people coming

Yelp
The smoothie with lactose free milk was rocking today! I had the Taro flavor which rocked, so I had two of them! I ordered the green tea iced as well, and it was a nice tea, but the boba were overdone. I didn't really enjoy the boba. I came back a second time, the same day. The Taro and Avocado flavors were sold out. I tried the Strawberry Banana flavor, and also the Peach one as well/ I would only pick the Taro flavors again. Overall, a modern store, more people stopped by here. There are more grab and go stores on Kearny Street, so getting better foot traffic overall. There is no bathrooms for customers tho. The glass bottled are a big plus btw!

Yelp
We came in 45 minutes before closing and ordered 3 drinks. It wasn't that busy and got our drinks pretty fast. It is a cute lil spot, very aesthetic. It had very limited options. We got the Special Milk Tea, House Blend Black, and the Strawberry Fruit Tea with lychee jelly. We got to keep the glass bottles with no extra charge which I LOVED (#sustainability). Strawberry Fruit Tea wasn't sweet enough for our personal taste. We asked for lychee jelly as our topping, but they ended up giving us boba instead??? We just kept it since it was a little bit before closing. But, the boba was a little stale and hard, so it definitely wasn't fresh and has been there for a while. The Special Milk Tea was actually pretty good. The sea salt cream with the milk tea was a good mix of saltiness and tea, but I did wish there was a stronger tea flavor. I liked the addition of the oreos which added a little crunch. Don't let it get too soggy if you're a texture person like me. House Blend Black with boba had a good tea flavor. Boba was the same as the fruit tea. Nothing else to say about it, pretty much just your average black milk tea. Overall, this place was nothing special for me. I love that we got to keep the glass bottles!! I was thrown off with the lack of variety for drinks, but the place is honestly very vibey! Definitely worth the try.

Yelp
I've realized I've been sleeping on reviewing this place for too long. Back in August 2023, I proposed to my now fiancée at this Plentea shop. It was where I first met her in 2019. I noticed the 2nd floor was closed off and for those who may not know, it used to be open to the public until 2020 for obvious reasons, so only the 1st floor was open at that point. I contacted the manager to see if I could borrow the 2nd floor for a few hours to propose and he worked with me! Such an incredible human being to chat with! I had two friends help me set up the day of and it looked so nice! The staff were very polite and helpful. Plentea helped make it a special day for us. As for the actual food and drinks, get the Deluxe Spam Musubi. I ate this every time without fail when visiting Plentea, there's just something about a nice fluffy egg on a soam musubi that changes the game. The Taro Milk Tea, Coffee Milk Tea, Thai Milk Tea ate my favorites here! The glass milk bottle they give you is such a unique concept, I love it! Check this place out!

Yelp
Ideally, I'd give it a 2.5/5. Plentea has a charming atmosphere. The shop itself is small but inviting, with terrariums lining the walls, adding a touch of nature. They offer a wide variety of drinks, from classic milk teas to fresh fruit options and even smoothies. You can also choose between getting your drink in a reusable glass bottle or a standard plastic cup, which is a nice eco-friendly touch. Unfortunately, my experience with the actual drink fell a bit short. I opted for the Thai tea, a classic boba flavor. While the presentation was nice, the taste was a little disappointing. The tea itself was quite bitter, and there was a slightly chalky aftertaste. Overall, Plentea is a cute spot with good intentions. However, based on my experience with Thai tea, the flavor execution needs some work. If you're looking for a trendy boba shop with a wide variety of options, Plentea might be worth a try. But if you're a boba purist seeking the perfect cup, you might want to keep exploring.

Yelp
Pretty standard boba. Bit on the pricy side but you get to keep the nice glass milk jug which is pretty aesthetic

Yelp
This Plentea location is located on a busy street/area and parking is hit or miss, since it is SF. The shop is easy to find - the storefront is made of wood, so it stands out. Even though the interior is small - it is clean, modern, and sleek. I tried the jasmine milk tea with boba and strawberry & banana smoothie. My milk tea was decent - it was not as creamy and sweet, as I would had liked it to be, but it was not bad. The smoothie was sweet with a stronger banana taste than strawberry - which I found surprising because it is usually the other way around.

Yelp
I like how the glasses are free! I wish the menu was made a little better. I think all of the prices are covered so it's hard to gauge how much everything is. It also made it pretty distracting to read the menu. But it feels super nostalgic coming to Plentea because it was super trendy back then! Service was also great too!

Yelp
I remembered Plentea tasted a lot better back in the days when we were still in the office. I got their toasted oolong milk tea and it tasted like water. Fortunately , I added the boba. It was the highlight. They still offer the glass cups with no additional cost. If you bring it back, you get a discount on the next drink.

Yelp
I'm shocked at the low scores because this place is Plentea good! I just happened to be in the area late on a random weeknight after an escape room session, and was thrilled that they stay open until 11 pm! Despite all this "doom loop" rhetoric, and how businesses are shutting down left and right, Plentea was actually PACKED to the rafters, which is a great thing to see. The shop itself is clean and cozy, with super high ceilings for great ventilation. The floorplan consists of a practical ramp entrance in the middle leading to the counter, with seating to the sides. The kitchen is completely open, so you can observe the bobaristas preparing your order. Speaking of the bobaristas, they are quite efficient, and hard working. Even though there were only two of them this particular evening dealing with a capacity crowd, drinks flowed out rapidly. They are also quite polite and helpful with any questions you may have. And most importantly, how do the drinks taste? Absolutely fantastic! Our group of six ordered various items (mine was Taro Milk Tea with Red Bean), and everyone gulped theirs down within minutes. Best of all, drinks are served in a glass bottle that can be reused at home for whatever your heart desires. I'm a bit of a boba bottle collector, and I use them to store various other liquids in the fridge, so I'm always happy to add to my stash. At most other places, you have to pay extra for them! Furthermore, if you bring the bottle back to the store for your next purchase, you receive 10% off! To be honest, since I hadn't been to this part of town - especially at night - in quite awhile, after hearing all of the negative press spewed out by the media, I was expecting the worst. In reality, I was pleasantly surprised by how relaxing and enjoyable the experience was hanging out at Plentea well into the wee hours of the night. I'll definitely return again sometime!

Yelp
3.5 stars from me! There's seating inside and the baristas are fairly quick. I like that you have the option to get your drink in a glass jar for no extra cost. I got the "Plentea", which is their self-titled oreo milk tea. It was pretty decent. The tea is on the bitter side and the oreos give chocolately notes. Overall, not bad but I think I'll stick to their Sea Salt Crema Oolong Tea.

Yelp
Back when working in an office everyday was the norm (pre-COVID days...like a lifetime ago), Plentea seemed like THE spot to go to when looking for an afternoon milk tea to brighten up your afternoon. For what seemed like the longest time, all I would ever see on Instagram and Yelp were folks posting photos of their drinks in Plentea's glass bottles. I have to say, though - it was never clear to me if they actually tasted good or if everyone just wanted to take their turn posting photos of their bottles like a badge of honor. Kind of like what I'm...doing...now... In all seriousness, given how they're located right around where Chinatown, Unions Square, and the Financial District meet, it's really no wonder why so many folks have found their way here. At the very least, it's very convenient if you happen to be any of these areas and in search of a milk tea spot. It also doesn't hurt that their menu is pretty interesting as well. While their range of options isn't as extensive as other places out there, they've got an interesting selection of milk teas (both classic and specialty), fruit teas, matcha, and smoothies. And, of course, those nifty, yet kind of gimmicky, glass bottles, too! -- ROAST OOLONG MILK TEA (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/plentea-san-francisco-2?select=CYSPTap2YAQ66K7oi13PIg) Granted, I don't often get oolong milk teas, but this was definitely one of the better ones I've had. The taste of the oolong itself was great, and their 50% sweet was just the right amount for me, but I wish this had been creamier. -- ALMOND MILK TEA (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/plentea-san-francisco-2?select=fbytEaj-4CdT7kuwZJwpwA) In terms of flavor, this had a pretty good hit of almond to it. The 50% sweet on this one was perfect as well, but like the Oolong Milk Tea I had before, the consistency left me a little wanting. Even with less ice, it still felt a bit watery. While my experiences were a little mixed (more good than bad, but my friend loved her taro milk tea the first time I was here), it's pretty easy to see why Plentea has more than a few fans. Beyond the drinks, orders come out pretty quickly, there's plenty of parking (at night, anyways), and they're open fairly late (11pm). What's more, I like that you order on a tablet, as you can see all of the drink details and customization options laid out in front of you. That being said, while I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back, it'd more likely be when I'm already in the area and/or if it was late rather than making a point of it. But at least now I can add getting one of Plentea's glass bottles to my list of achievements! THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were visiting San Francisco. We wanted boba and just happened to be going through the city to get to Ghirardelli square. I love how the cups are in glass bottles! They are so cute and aesthetically pleasing. Great for the environment. I wish they was something like this in San Diego. I love things that save the planet. I just wish the bottles actually close after they are open because the bottles didn't close. I got the plentea boba i Believe. It looked like a plan it was so aesthetically pleasing and it was delicious! The mint on top brought it all together. My boyfriend got the Nutella boba which was good, he couldn't stop himself from gulping it down. The boba was sweet and chewy. The employees were very helpful with the questions I had. Overall would come again if I was in the area.

Yelp
Always a delicious tea offering with consistency that can't be beat! The staff is always accomodating - I love it!

Yelp
This place is great for boba runs on office days. I love that there is an option to choose a glass bottle for your drink to save on plastic waste, and you can even return your glass bottle after use. Genius! I am partial to the sea salt cheese creama and matcha drinks offered here so I have not tried the other categories, but every drink I order has consistently been a home run. The components are simple but made just right, and gives a really satisfying taste each time. Sometimes I've seen a line but I've never had to wait too long. You can also order online and on the ordering kiosk to speed things up if you are in a hurry. There is a pay to park garage (St. Mary's Square Garage) nearby, and various other parking garages around the corner too.
google avatar

Amy F.

Yelp
*chef kiss* I love this place. The Sea Salt Creama Oolong is fantastic, just the right balance of creamy richness with sweetness. I got the 70% and that was perfect for experiencing the full potential of the drink. If I was a local coming back and not an indulgent tourist, I would prob get 50% to make me feel better about myself, but def rec 70% if it's your first time. Would def recommend this place if you're visiting SF! Ambience is cute with tea leaves in picture frames, but seating is pretty limited and there's no public restroom.
google avatar

Taylor K.

Yelp
Okay yummy! So delicious and I'm not even a huge boba drinker! But loved the brown sugar! They give you your drinks in a cute glass bottle that you get to take and reuse. Love the vibes. Also have plants all over the shop!
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
Quick to order but there were lots of order ahead of me so there was a short wait for drinks to come out. My drink came out fast but I wasn't sure it was mine as there were lots of groups ahead of me. It just sat there until the staff finished taking other outstanding order and was less occupied. I liked the sea salt creama oolong tea, you can't change the sweetness but it tasted like my usual 50% sweetness at other places. Looks just like the milk teas after mixing. I opted for the reusable glass bottle (no extra charge). It's definitely easier to carry in my bag as the bottles are sealed well. I can see how the bottle is a hassle if you have other plans for the day. If you don't want to keep the bottle, you can leave the used bottled on a tray near the straw area. There's lots of seating but most of the stools by the wall were where everyone waited for their drinks.
google avatar

Anne C.

Yelp
My favorite boba spot in SF! I ordered ahead via Door Dash just in case of a wait which there usually is whenever I come through. My favorite is the Sea Salt Crema Oolong with Egg Pudding. Make sure to shake the drink before to incorporate the crema. The drink is so creamy and velvety! I always opt for the glass bottle for an extra cost. The bottles are so cute and I get to repurpose it around the house. They also have fruit teas and regular milk teas. Sweetness and ice levels can be adjusted. Food items are also available but have not tried it. You can also do a self order or through a barista. They have a small seating area.
google avatar

Generous Y.

Yelp
Came when there was a huge line so I figured I'd stop by too. Small compact seating around, but definitely available. Kiosk ordering is convenient and simple. Staff do reach out to give suggestions even after ordering so that was appreciated. Red Dragonfruit Plentea - lacked flavor and was pretty watered down so I was disappointed. I've been searching for a better dragonfruit drink but haven't come across much in San Francisco. Staff did tell me that 50% sugar wouldn't be good and increasing it would be better, so I obliged. Even so, it was like drinking water with bits of dragonfruit infused. Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba - chewy bouncy boba but not sweet so good texture, but can get stale fast. Tea was solid as in there was a strong tea flavor, definitely leaning towards tea over milk in the ratio.

Yelp
Recently went to Plentea with the hubs over the weekend. It was a Saturday night and pretty dead since it was raining. For our first time trying it out and we were pretty satisfied with what we got. We ordered three teas + a spam musubi with egg to snack on to hold us over until dinner. The coffee and oolong with creama were pretty standard, nothing extremely spectacular but still enjoyable. Also got a grape green tea which was just alright. Staff was very nice! They accidentally made our coffee drink wrong and immediately fixed it. We appreciate them for being upfront and providing great service. I think that if you're in the area, Plentea is still worth checking out. They have (limited) snacks, which is always a plus, and again, their drinks are pretty good. Can't complain!
google avatar

Stewart L.

Yelp
So cool that they use glass bottles here to reduce waste. I really loved the tea too. Such good quality. I feel like I can never tell when the tapioca is good or not so go to some other more knowledgeable reviewer, haha. Love this place tho. Will definitely I'm be going back with my empty bottle to get a 10% discount!
google avatar

Jen L.

Yelp
Pretty solid spot for milk tea and love that they come up with a glass bottle that you get to keep!

Yelp
Coming from a place where boba is at almost every corner, I had to look for some while in San Francisco. A couple of friends and I walked all around the area looking for great boba. We not only saw the positive reviews on Yelp and Google, but also saw that there was a crowd and small line coming out, so it must've been that good! We waited our turn in line and we're finally able to place our order on the kiosk. From there, we just waited for our orders to come out as the baristas were calling them out. I love that this place gives you the option of either getting your drink in the nice plastic boba cups or you have the option of selecting a reusable glass bottle (has their name on it like a souvenir!). I chose the regular cup because I didn't want the hassle of having to open then close my bottle while walking around the city. I got the house blend black milk tea with boba (less sugar). I was very pleased with my order! The tea was just right and the boba was perfect texture. They have several milk options which was convenient if you're picky like me. I highly recommend them if you're in the area! Great quality product at fair prices!

Yelp
The staff is rude. Not about the young staff mouthing off.save your money go better boba

Yelp
Was in town for a long wekeend and only had time to try one boba place. Glad I chose the right one! I enjoyed the drinks here. Not very sweet and flavors were on point. I could taste the taro bits in the taro milk, didn't taste like a powdered taro drink. Not sure if it was made with powder or not but definitely made with real taro. When I ordered the passion fruit tea at 50% sugar, they warned me it would be bitter so I opted for 75% because I'd rather it be unsweetened than too sweet. It did taste unsweetened at 75% which I didn't mind, now I know I could order it without adjusting the sugar level. I didn't know they have musubi until I was at the counter ordering, it wasn't bad.
google avatar

Juan V.

Yelp
A good place to grab a fruit tea. I had the mango tea and it was tasty. I enjoyed the fruity flavor. They are located on Kearny. Lots of tea options available.
google avatar

Conner C.

Yelp
cute little shop in downtown that sells boba in glass jars! the jars are really cute, but they don't have a hole for the straw, so make sure you can hold the cap for a bit while sipping. I got a strawberry smoothie, which was ok but pretty watery. I appreciated that it tasted like real fruit, and I could see them put in real ingredients. I'll have to try the teas next time, which I imagine are better!
google avatar

May A.

Yelp
Refreshing smoothies! Plentea is a bubble tea shop. Picked up some smoothies before we headed back to our hotel. Lots of choices on the menu board. Stared at it until finally I was able to choose and opted for the Strawberry Banana Smoothie. LoL! It came in a cute reusable souvenir glass milk bottle, ahh sadly, I forgot to bring it home from the hotel. For the hubby, his favorite Avocado Smoothie. Our drinks were made from fresh ingredients... delicious and refreshing. The staff was friendly and helpful. Located in the Financial District of San Francisco. Parking isn't the best here. In fact, it sucks! Lucky for us just a 5-min walk from our place on Bush Street. Mentioning again... Plentea is a bubble tea/boba shop. Two gals visiting from AZ strolled in looking for some alcoholic drinks. Review #2662

Seliya G.

Yelp
Solid staple boba place in SF! There's the free glass bottles, opens late AND there's plenty of seating across two floors. It's a great place to hangout with friends and get some delicious milk tea.
google avatar

Yelp
I love the name Pleantea! It's definitely one of the more creative boba shop names I've seen lately. My go-to order at Pleantea, especially when I'm in the area, is the oolong milk tea with boba. What I truly appreciate is the glass cup they use for serving. While I don't always return it for the refill discount, I do recycle them at home and enjoy them as reusable water glasses. Compared to other tea shops, Pleantea's oolong milk tea is slightly lighter. However, considering the price point is a dollar lower and they use a glass cup, the value is excellent. Taste, of course, is subjective. With a 25% sweetness level, I can still taste enough to determine the presence of tea, but not enough to discern its quality. Ultimately, for my palate, the milk tends to mask the tea flavor regardless. Overall, if I'm in the area and craving boba, Pleantea is my first choice. The combination of a refreshing oolong tea, eco-friendly glass cups, and a fair price point keeps me coming back for more.
google avatar

Emily Z.

Yelp
I used to come here all the time, but haven't been in the area in a while and decided to come back to give them a try again! Quality of drinks are really good has remained pretty consistent over the years. I ordered the earl grey milk tea with boba. One thing I really enjoy about Plentea is that the drinks are never too sweet, even at the regular sweetness level. You have the option of ordering your drink in a glass milk jar or a plastic cup, both of which are priced the same. The plastic cup is slightly larger by 4 oz. There are a few chairs and tables for seating downstairs but they've closed the upstairs loft that was a larger seating area.
google avatar

Misty L.

Yelp
Ordered the early grey milk tea, 75% sweetness with honey boba in the glass jar; was great! And the perfect amount of sweetness in my opinion if you don't usually like the default. It is a bit pricey, but it's no extra cost to switch to the glass bottle from a plastic cup (although the plastic cup might give you a bit more drink) The boba itself was pretty good as well, would come back again to try the other drinks!
google avatar

Janet T.

Yelp
5 Stars for the Sea Salt Creama Jasmin Green Tea with honey boba. Their Jasmin Green Tea is truly refreshing and the quality of the tea is amazing! I also loved the perfect balance of the sweet and salty flavors of the sea salt creama...I can totally eat the creama by itself! Lastly, the honey boba was fresh, not overly sweet and had the perfect chewy texture!
google avatar

Tricia F.

Yelp
Plentea is my go-to spot for Boba near my office. I'm a classic milk tea boba gal, and love that Plentea offers their bevs in glass containers with the cutest color lavendar lids. You can return them to the shop for reuse or take them home and use them yourself. Plentea is fast, clean, and the classic milk tea is perfectly balanced. Big fan!
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
Another very popular spot in town. It's a nice little modern place. Staff wasn't all that welcoming or friendly at the time. We ordered ourselves through the kiosks. My boyfriend got the Honey Citrus Tea and I got the Honey Lime Tea with Boba. Both drinks were pretty refreshing and not too sweet. I came because of their glass bottles but didn't end up getting one because I didn't want to carry it around town lol. But definitely go get one if you can!
google avatar

Daniel Z.

Yelp
The boba teas are good however the staff here were not really informed about vegan options. I told them I'd use almond milk in my tea however they kept advising me to use lactose-free milk instead.
google avatar

Kong L.

Yelp
A unique experience! I stopped in for a late night dessert. My boba was served in a glass jug which was different. I ordered the taro boba tea and I enjoyed the sweetness level. It wasn't too sweet, just the way I like it.
google avatar

Leanne N.

Yelp
I came here with some friends during my vacation. We ordered 2 drinks(brown sugar ice milk & caramel ice milk) through the machine in the store, they both showed up as with boba in the images so we didn't add any more toppings. But they came out without boba. I like that you can choose the drink to be in the bottle or cup, creative. The drinks in general are good, not too sweet! The staff is amicable and helpful. This place doesn't have a restroom though.

Yelp
5 stars for sustainability alone at Plentea, they have these really nice small glass bottles you can get a variety of nice drinks in and keep for yourself to store milk or other stuff in later. There's a lot of variety of drinks, a nice asynchronous digital ordering system, and they also let you know if the drink you ordered might turn out to be too sour if you go for less sweet. My watermelon drink was refreshing and delicious.

Yelp
Went here on a weekend in the middle of the day and took a little less than 10 mins to get our drinks (passionfruit tea & sea salt crema green or black i dont remember) There were a lot of people ordering/ waiting for drinks and only 3 workers but they were pretty speedy!! I salute you guys.... Its super cute inside with a small section to sit down inside which I found quite rare in SF . I got the passionfruit tea and it was a little too sweet for me personally and i wish there were more seeds but it was still really good and i would recommend it to other fellow passionfruit lovers... The sea salt crema foam was delish like fr and when mixed with the tea it was a nice milk tea. Wish the tea was a bit stronger tho...

Yelp
The girl who took our order was friendly. I ordered a Grape Plentea while my boyfriend ordered a Milktea, both with boba. When they came out, we were both confused as they both looked milky. I asked the guy who said our order was ready if mine was grape. He looked confused and said, 'GRAPE?!?!, We don't have grape'. I pointed towards the menu and said that they did. He came out of his working station to look at the menu and went on to say they didn't have grape xyz, etc. I was tired, had injury, and didn't feel like arguing. He said 'Sorry about that', to a mistake I did not make. - Customers are not always right. - I know what I ordered and it was nothing of the sort. I would never order creama (which I hate) and my drink had. Nor do I go for milktea unless it is Taro, Thai, mungbean and the occasional oolong which is rare. I wanted a fruit tea. And the last time I was there: their fruit tea was lit. - Instead of scoffing it off or having a slight/bad attitude, that worker should could work being more open to listening to the customer and probing for more questions. - Even though the order came out incorrect, I'm not upset at the person who took the order. Her personal friendly attitude was great. - My boyfriend said, I guess we're not going here again'. - I'm open to going here again', but maybe not.. especially for that attitude, no thanks.

Yelp
Plentea has been one of my favorite boba spots since I moved to SF. I haven't stopped by much since before covid, but I finally went by this weekend and their drinks still hit the same! Plentea doesn't allow you to customize the sweetness of some of their drinks, but I've always found that to be fine because they don't make their drinks as sweet as most other boba places. Also, they still have their glass bottle rewards in place! If you return 10 of their glass bottles, you get a free drink. I love this eco friendly way to reward their frequent customers! Definitely will be back more often!

Yelp
Why is the parking here easier than Berkeley? The dude behind the counter was super nice. Service was fairly quick considering the amount of people in the shop. The little pouches that they have for the straws are the cutest things I've ever seen. Why is it that the brown sugar iced milk is the best thing I've ever had. It's milk. I'm paying $6 for milk. But I can't stop. I hate myself. But I still can't stop.

Yelp
Got a mango green tea and was sorely disappointed. Tasted like perfume, and the bubbles themselves did not have much taste. Only took a few sips of my drink before tossing.

Yelp
Super cute boba shop to check out either for a refreshing drink or to catch up with a friend! We got the matcha latte and blueberry smoothie in bottle jars which you can take home. The service was friendly and quick!

Yelp
I have been here a couple of times and enjoyed both visits. The drinks are tasty, and the service was great. We ended up exchanging a drink, but the employees didn't hesitate to change it out for us. The ambiance was nice, and there was seating inside. Additionally, the main thing I love is the bottles. I am still using them at home! Yelp
Cute spots with reusable glasses that you can keep afterwards! Love the push for sustainability. I got a fruity tea, which was very fruit forward and "cold brew" style. I felt like the tea flavor was very mild / nonexistent and the main flavor was the mango. I saw them muddling dragonfruit for my friends drink, and was quite impressed by the fresh ingredients. Would have preferred stronger tea flavors, but overall quite a good spot!

Yelp
While walking around SF, I was feeling thirsty and found Plentea nearby. I got myself a Sea Salt Crema Oolong Tea ($5.25) in a glass jar. For some reason, the glass was cheaper than plastic. I guess that's SF being eco-friendly? Anyways, I liked that I can reuse the glass bottle though. But do note that I had to hold the bottle cap as I was walking around and drinking since you can't just poke a straw inside. The drink itself is good. Nice balance of salty and sweet. Solid spot though!
