"Brothers Anthony and Damon Mascieri took over the original Plenty on East Passyunk Avenue in 2012. At the time, it was a sandwich shop. In 2015, they snagged a liquor license, revamped the menu, and expanded the hours, adding dinner entrees and beer, wine, and cocktails." - Rachel Vigoda

It's a coffee shop and a bar! You could literally go from dawn to dusk in this place - just take your cues on what people are ordering to figure out what time of day it is haha! We went for brunch and I ordered the avocado toast and a dish of the house ricotta was ordered for the table. The ordering process is fast casual meets sit down. We peered over the menu and ordered at the counter (where they also have a coffee bar/take out corner) and then we found our own seats, where in which our food was delivered to us. I think this system works for the space, since the area is much more long than it is wide. The wait staff would more or less be hovering over every table if it was a full service type of environment. The need for that is simply not there. The avocado toast was served on grilled pieces of bread - each slice smeared with a healthy dose of the avocado spread (avocado, cilantro, grilled corn, pickled onion, and lime). The bread was well done and the avocado mixture tasted fresh and savory. I especially liked the pickled onion addition - helped create a deeper taste profile and cut the lime element. The ricotta was equally enjoyable consisting of grilled apples, pistachios, honey and mint. I found it refreshing and haven't really seen this as an option. I was able to taste all the ingredients and didn't find it too heavy. The portion was "plenty" for the table. The weather in the beginning was very nice for a February afternoon (70 degrees!). However, midway through the meal, mother nature changed gears and brought in the chilly wind. The trouble is, the windows were left open. I wish the staff didn't leave them open once the chill kicked in. I saw two workers fiddling with the outside seating (likely removing it given the change in weather) but nothing was done to keep the chill out and the comfort in. I think I would've probably stayed longer and ordered a coffee if it hadn't become unacceptably cold in there. Overall - an enjoyable meal and I like the day to night access of the establishment. Would've appreciated more comfort from the elements, but in any case the experience was "plenty."

I was hanging in Trendy East Passyunk. I guess trendy means you're trying to separate yourself from the traditional Philadelphia cheesesteak stereotypes. Plenty Cafe had the closest thing to a cheesesteak so I went in there. Much to my surprise and delight they serve alcohol. I excited so I was having a hard time using my inside voice. Apparently excited loud talking at the end of the bar in a small cafe is more offensive than breastfeeding in the middle of a small cafe. It was a very good sandwich. Their version of coleslaw was tangy, tasty and plentiful. The baguette was crispy. The brisket was good but not a whole lot of it. My beer was $8. Overall good experience. I got to have lunch with my younger daughter. Almost forgot my side/garnish salad was amazing with their version of coleslaw on it.

Had one or two vegan options which were delicious. Waiter was super friendly. Drinks were a tad pricey but yummy and space was really cozy.

I love their shakshuka but the toast.... Really??? Burnt and they didn't even care..... Already home so too late to try and get new ones. Come on people. Poor decision by whoever wrapped it up and thought this was Acceptable

Very nice choices. And healthy. Service is a bit long but good food. Don't be in a hurry when ordering here.

Great food. Hip little spot. The menu is unique and everything I've had over the course of 4 visits has been different & outstanding. Pictures posted are of the french toast & the salmon board. Waitresses are polite. Amongst a slew of great restaurants along E Passyunk Ave this is a hidden gem for breakfast & lunch.

I go here 2-3 times a week for coffee and a croissant (and good raspberry jam) and the folks here remember what I eat and are always pleasant and attentive. I get counter service for simple things, and table service for brunch. Sometimes they are super busy, and 10 tables and the counter seats are a lot for the staff to handle. Be patient and kind with them in those situations.

I mean, this place is great for a quick bite, but I can't say much in terms of quality for the price. $9 for a breakfast sandwich that I could make with a brioche bun with a tiny sausage patty and 2 eggs was a bit underwhelming. Definitely go for brunch, but maybe only when other places have a longer wait.
