I unfortunately went on the wrong day, the regular chef was not in the day we decided to get breakfast here. The Benedict eggs were delicious. Biscuit was warm and soft, the home style fries very little considering it is paid as a side dish. The biggest disappointment was the grits topped with the gravy and chicken with bacon, it was extremely salty I tried to drown it with hot sauce to see if I could get past the salt. Unfortunately it was just too salty and waitress was kind enough to remove it from my ticket as she saw I just could not eat it.

This place is nice. Small but quaint. Our waitress wasn't as attentive as I would have liked. We had a large party for brunch. We started with drinks and they do not offer lemonade! So we settled for sweet tea or soda. Everyone food was ok. The biscuits are big and fluffy. The grits were ok and the home fries were dry. Most of the food needed seasoning but the bill for 8pp was very reasonable. Note there's only one bathroom for all.

This place was artistic, even in the bathroom. Service was fast, and there was only a few minutes wait on food. The dish I ordered was good. But the gravy was watery. My wife got the biscuit n gravy, but it was soupy. So we got her a bacon biscuit. It was a tall biscuit, but it was not done in the middle. And the bacon needed another few min on the grill.

Omg! I loved everything about this place right down to the color of the ceiling of the restroom. It's my fave. 🙂 I loved how colorful everything was from the decor to the floral table clothes. Good vibes (and messages on the walls), choices and good prices. The best kind of biscuits that are a little crispy on the outside and so soft and fresh on the inside. My husband loved his biscuits and gravy. Hope we get to visit when we get back in town.

We had lunch here today around 1:30 PM. There was a bit of a wait for a table (about 15 minutes) as several tables needed to be cleared upon arrival. The service was Fantastic. VThe ladies working were so pleasant and attentive. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. We tried: * Biscuits and Gravy: The gravy was flavorful and delicious. * The Coop: Really great! A satisfying and tasty dish. * Sausage with Biscuit: Simple but good quality. * The Pluck (Chicken with Pineapple Marinade): Everyone loved this. So flavorful. The biscuits that came with each meal were outstanding – truly top-notch. We also ordered the beignets with a Nutella-like spread. They were okay, not the traditional style we're used to, but still a sweet treat. Parking would have been easy, but the road was closed for a festival. The atmosphere inside is cute and quaint. Overall, the cost was very reasonable for the quality and amount of food.

Plucked Up Chicken & Biscuits is a downtown Columbus, GA breakfast/lunch eatery, of course, specializing in chicken and biscuits. Serving breakfast and lunch for over a decade, Plucked Up is a sister restaurant of Mark’s City Grill and Hunter’s Pub & Steakhouse, all concepts of restauranteer Mark Jones. My husband is from Columbus, GA, so we have a tradition of visiting for Thanksgiving. We stayed a little longer than normal to attend a family mini-reunion held at the nearby Hampton Inn Columbus Downtown. We were starving and needed a quick bite to eat, and Plucked Up was the closest non-fast food restaurant open. Plucked Up is an intimate eatery with exposed brick walls showcasing brightly colored, eclectic meets country decor. The wait staff was super friendly and welcoming despite a packed eatery. Our to-go order came out so quickly, I didn’t finish taking my usual quantity of pictures We both ordered Plucked Up Biscuits (my husband added an egg to his). I am actually shaking my head as to why we hadn’t been to Plucked Up during prior visits to Columbus. The biscuits were buttery and fluffy, the chicken was crispy and flavorful, and the pineapple marmalade had the right level of sweetness. I was eyeing the biscuit beignets being served as we walked out, and something tells me that the chelsea (fried chicken, pimento cheese, bacon, and jalapeño jelly) will be life-affirming.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment we walked in, the service was absolutely outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food came out hot and fresh, and every bite was full of flavor. The biscuits and gravy were perfection: fluffy, buttery biscuits smothered in creamy, well-seasoned gravy that tasted like it came straight from a Southern kitchen. And the pork chops? Juicy, tender, and cooked just right, with that perfect balance of seasoning that makes you want to savor every bite. This place delivers comfort food and hospitality at its finest—I’ll definitely be coming back!

Friendly staff and quirky decor. A great place in downtown Columbus for breakfast! Biscuits are warm and fluffy! A must try, parking located in the front.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast. The best biscuits and gravy in the area, hands down! The chicken fingers are seasoned to perfection and fried to a crispy golden brown.

Yelp
First, the restaurant itself is an eclectic burst of pure joy, who could not like those giant chickens? Second, it has a trap door! For whatever reason, I absolutely love a secret door! Third, Tanya was wonderful! She recommended the perfect breakfast for our taste buds and was a wealth of information. Finally, the food was hot, fresh and so very D-LISH-US! Those biscuits, yummy!

A wonderful welcome to Columbus, Georgia Fantastic food, unparalleled service and homey ambiance

Yelp
Best breakfast. Whatever you do... get the chicken and french toast biscuit with maple bacon jam (I forget the actual name of it on the menu). I dream of it. Highly recommended!!!!

Yelp
The waitress was nice and kept calling us "baby" and "baby girl". Must be a thing in the South. The food was decent. But the fried chicken was a bit heavy and the decor a bit too kitschy for me personally.

Yelp
Me and wife stopped in here for a late lunch. We were able to get a table but as we were walking up quite a few people were leaving so I believe it gets pretty crowded and it's not very large. The waitress was extremely friendly as were all the staff there. I got the 4 piece chicken strips with biscuit and tots as a side. The wife got the crispy chicken salad. My strips were very good. Not huge but decent size and cooked and seasoned well. The tots were also good and very crispy. Now the biscuit was phenomenal. The wife said her salad was also great. Lettuce and ingredients were crisp and fresh and the chicken was delicious. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
The place was super cozy. Service was very quick and friendly. The food came out very quick and was fresh. The tater tots were so crispy and flavorful. Large portion sizes, left feeling very full. Even got offered a coffee to take in a to go cup.

Yelp
A great spot downtown Columbus, great service from Tonya and the food comes out fast.... Like a rocket! Very cool vibe inside with lots to look at in the 1 minute until food arrives. Lol. Biscuits are huge and perfect as is the sausage/ ham/ breakfast potatoes and eggs. A must go!

Yelp
Plucked up was DELICIOUS!!! Quick and great service. It was very very busy but so worth the wait!

Yelp
Plucked Up was so much fun. The decor inside is funny and quirky and we loved the giant chickens! We had a wonderful server who gave recommendations of the most popular menu items. Given her suggestions we had Gravy Biscuits, The Coop, French Toast Biscuits and eggs with bacon Each dish was lovingly prepared and everything was absolutely delicious! We left with full bellies and a plan for what street to explore next. I absolutely emphatically recommend!

Yelp
Cute and cozy restaurant, with a friendly atmosphere.Service was quick and our server was very friendly and pleasant, the food was so delicious, I had the chicken coop, it was the perfect combo, 2 biscuits and gravy covered with eggs, cheese and chopped fried chicken. Best biscuits and gravy hands down, super creamy not overly seasoned or salty, biscuits were fluffy and perfect, chicken was super tasty, seasoned well and crispy. Definitely will be back to try some of the other items on the menu, if back in the area, lots of yummy sounding items to choose from. Restaurant is on the smaller size, for a group of would fit comfortably at their available tables but maybe not the best place for larger groups due to seating availability unfortunately.

Yelp
It was busy and lively for Thursday morning, I bet it is packed during the weekend rush hours. The interior was funky and fun, with lots of interesting things on display. It was a nice size with a good number of tables and chairs, and also had a small bar counter with handful of seats. Their menu was separated into three sections, easy to see and understand exactly what you are gong to get. Since this is a place that focuses on Chicken and Biscuit, we made sure to get something with Chicken and Biscuit. We went with 2 Egg Breakfast and The Chicken Coop, with a cup of coffee which came with free refills. 2 Egg Breakfast can have choice of meat with additional charge. We added fried chicken. The fried chicken pieces did not look like much, but they were great! It was finger-licking good! Grits had solid flavor and comforting. The biscuit was so fluffy and airy, buttery and delicious! We were very happy with this order. The Chicken Coop was much bigger in portion than expected, and what a display! We added fried chicken to this order as well. It was very good, a comfort food at its best! It had everything you want in every bite. It sure was the champion of breakfast. We had a really nice breakfast here. It seems like it was very popular among the locals, and I can understand the reason why. The service was very friendly and welcoming. The food is affordable and comforting. We enjoyed every bite!

Yelp
A charming quaint place with great eats. My husband and I stopped in traveling thru town, and the cat head biscuits are epic! My husband chose the chicken pot pie, and I had the Chelsea. Both dishes were outstanding with great flavor!

Yelp
I don't think the floors have ever been cleaned. Chairs are nearly glued down. And then after getting coffee, couldn't even get to order food because the server never showed back up

Yelp
This was my first time trying this place and wanted to see what the hype is about. Highly recommend for everyone to try.

Yelp
I love biscuits! This is my 2nd time and again amazing! I brought a friend and she was impressed also - yum! Staff is nice and quick to serve. The decor is interesting and makes you laugh while you wait for the star of the show- food! I look forward to my next visit.

Yelp
Three words for you: French. Toast. Biscuits. This place was cute, delicious, and prompt. Shout out to Tonya, her service was impeccable.

Yelp
We "Plucked Up" and found the cutest little chicken & biscuit breakfast spot located in downtown Columbus, where breakfast is served all day until 3pm. I ordered the Biscuit Benedict with my poached egg a little more in the firm side, oh the hallandaise sauce was on point. Our server LAYNIE was friendly as they come, very knowledgeable of the menu she represents impeccable service very well. There's plenty of parking outside, so no worries there. When I'm in town again I'm making a bee line right here for another biscuit creation.

Yelp
Food: Yummy. Biscuits remind me of my mama's. Had a wrap (cannot remember the name, but it had fried chicken, pimento cheese, hot honey) and it was great. The cheddar grits were lukewarm, hence the -1 star. Ordered a biscuit on the side (because you should always order the staple at a restaurant, especially if it is in their name!). So good!! Our server, Tanya, was quick, friendly,, and thoughtful- she even added a cup of sprite on our table so my son could continue filling his drink during the busy lunch hour. She could tell that we were in a hurry (he was on his lunch break) and brought our check and need to go box quickly when we asked for it. This is a really cute restaurant The ambience mirrors many of the ones downtown. This would make a great place to hold an event- which they do offer
google avatar

Yelp
Wow, this place is delicious and service was friendly and prompt. We came here on a Saturday AM and sat outside as it wasn't too hot. If you're in the south, you must get chicken, biscuits and grits. It's heart attack on a plate but oh so tasty. It's OK to indulge yourself once in a while. The grits were just OK. I asked for cheese grits and it definitely wasn't. The two chicken tenders were perfectly seasoned and friend. Not overly greasy. The biscuit was soft and buttery. The eggs are eggs that were scrambled-just standard and nothing to screw up there. I also tried the beignets with the delicious sweet dipping sauce. Yum! Not too sweet and not greasy either. 4-4.5 stars!
google avatar

Madison B.

Yelp
The food was phenomenal. The people were fantastic. It was quick, delicious, and an overall lovely dining experience. 10/10.
google avatar

Jason R.

Yelp
I wanted to eat something really southern while I was in town and I was not disappointed. I had "The Aspen" which was chicken tenders in chipotle barbecue sauce in a biscuit sandwich. The sandwich was delicious as a package the chicken was cooked great with really good breading. The biscuit was really good. Another person in my group got French toast biscuits. I had a bite and I would definitely get that if I went there again. You could still taste delicious biscuit but it was crisped with the sweet French toast batter. Really unique setting inside with great service

Yelp
...Plucked Up Chicken and Biscuits was exactly what these Las Vegas ladies had in mind during our visit to Georgia. The only thing missing was peach pie! The pork steak (fried) and eggs with grits and biscuit was satisfying and filling. The chicken coop with eggs , biscuits and sausage gravy was juicy and delicious. Their coffee was flavorful and their sweet tea was satisfying too. The staff was fantastic and the atmosphere warm, hospitable and great decor. And after a filling meal we had a pleasant walk in the area.

Yelp
Ok, I'll start with, it was amazing. I'll second that with the service was great, too. I will finish with a (half tounge in cheek) rant. I have lived in the deep south for 47 of my 50 years. Never once has anyone run into any kitchen I'm aware of and whipped up some cathead biscuits, fried chicken, sausage, milk gravy, over easy eggs and thrown some cheddar cheese on it all. While it was absolutely delicious, and I will be back, I think this must be what a native "Chinese food" eater must think in most US Chinese restaurants. Don't get me wrong, it was great. But to you folks with the review from Vegas, we don't eat like that. Nor have we for at least the last 50 years. I dunno, maybe some folks do. It would explain why so many of the trucks need those oversized suspensions, cause man. It's good. And I think I put on 5 lbs in one meal .
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by this restaurant on way through town-4.5 stars. Highly recommend! I had the chicken biscuit with bacon jelly. I asked for the jelly on the side-next time I will put bacon jelly all over-yum! The size was a biscuit with three chicken tenders. The biscuit was deep fried as well as the chicken-first time eating deep fried biscuit-highly recommend you try! I ate about half this meal-I am consciously watching what I eat. Food was hot, fresh, chicken juicy, and fast. Waitress (very pregnant) was fast and friendly. She refilled our drinks (water and a decaf coffee) 3 times! They even had a party of 5 and another couple join just after we ordered! My better half had White Water biscuit-it had pork and biscuit with gravy. He thought the pork was cooked just a little too long. Gravy and biscuit were perfect! He would order again! Wish I would have taken photos!
google avatar

Andy B.

Yelp
Went there to try out their biscuits and gravy because I am a fan and a friend recommended it. The hey indoor and outdoor seating, as well as bartop seating. I sat at the bar. I want to preface this by saying I will come back to try a straight up chicken biscuit or the chicken and grits. A guy next to me had a 3 piece chicken platter, and the chicken looks phenomenal! I ordered my biscuits and gravy topped with an over-easy fried egg and a side of white cheddar grits. The grits were pretty tasty. The biscuits and gravy were alright. The real star of that particular dish was the biscuit. I'm sure they make their biscuits in house, and this was pretty amazing. The gravy is described as a sausage gravy. While the gravy definitely had a sausage flavor to it, probably from sausage grease, there wasn't an abundance of actual sausage in the gravy. Still, good flavor so I wasn't disappointed. And the fried egg on top helped. I have been spoiled by working at a breakfast spot where the breakfast chef's sausage gravy was a religious experience. So, I'm kinda picky. The servers were super friendly, and the overall vibe of the place is kinda upscale diner. Would definitely recommend. Excellent menu!

Yelp
In town for a military graduation and my DIL was hoping for some good chicken. With a place named Plucked up Chicken how could we resist. The decor is fantastic and fun, we loved looking around, the exposed brick walls is beautiful. We seated ourselves per the servers request and she quickly came over to take our drink order and give menus. I ordered a sweet tea, it was delicious and has that small pill sized ice which is my favorite kind of ice, so Bonus for a great, refreshing drink. For food I ordered the biscuit benedict. The ham was extremely thick and plentiful, so much so that the egg dwarfed in comparison and I really love poached eggs. The biscuits were soft, moist and delicious. The hollandaise was nice and light tasting. My DIL ordered chicken tenders, french toast biscuit and cole slaw. She was happy with the chicken, but was quiet on the slaw. So I dont actually know her opinion of that. For a sweet treat I ordered the beignets. They were good, but I think I just had too many biscuits as I only ate two of them. Overall, A+ on food and ambiance. You cant go wrong here! Definitely give it a try.

Yelp
My son recommended this place while we were visiting him. We enjoyed the atmosphere and our food tasted great! We all had something a little different but seems like you can't go wrong with any of it.

Yelp
Good food and atmosphere Had the biscuit beignet drip in sauce Had the egg Benedict the ham was at least 1/4 inch thick

Yelp
THE CHICKEN COUP IS AMAZING =========================== Walked over for breakfast with my husband and son and I loved the food. I'd definitely go back. I ordered the biscuits with gravy, fried chicken, eggs and cheese on top. Everything was amazing. You can tell the local soldiers from Fort Benning and everyone else loves it. Amazing food and the service is good.

Derrick G.

Yelp
Enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, The servers was nice and welcoming as well but the food was amazing. Recommend: The Stetson

Yelp
If you find yourself in Columbus Georgia for a graduation or some such, do yourself a favor and drop in on the fun times and terrific food at this small, oddly named bistro on the main drag downtown. That is, unless you are allergic to fried chicken. Virtually every menu item contains this poultry mainstay. I had the Cut Bait burrito. I like wet burritos, but wet with sausage gravy? Yes please!! An added bonus was the pickled jalapeños relish. WOW. Others in our flock had the Chicken Coop. All forms of chicken appeared. Scrambled eggs, fried chicken, potatoes(?). With cheese. They left nothing on their plates but crumbs. Not to overlook a Southern staple, the collards were outstanding. No one had grits. Hate to admit it. Open for breakfast and lunch, I think. We were there at 11-ish and had a 15 minute wait. Probably much busier earlier. Go!! Get plucked.

Yelp
As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted with friendly faces. The atmosphere is fun and Tonya is a great server. She kept our glasses full and the delicious food arrived at the table quickly.

Yelp
We were passing from GA to AL and stopped here for breakfast. The food was delicious and plentiful! There is indoor and outdoor seating. The decor is fun, place was clean, and if we're back in the area, a definite return to try something else on the menu. The area is walkable for a few steps after a great meal.

Rebecca J.

Yelp
Waitress suggested the chicken pot pie. It was wonderful!! Staff were super kind. Service was quick as it was a working lunch. Quaint atmosphere. I'll be back!
google avatar

Yelp
The best biscuits I've had in my entire life! Sinful! I got the pork steak and eggs and the pork was so tinder I could cut it with my fork. My mother got the chicken and grits and it was incredible as well. I highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Yelp
We came here on a weekday and it was a busy time but we were able to sit down right away! I believe our waitress's name was Tonya? She was the sweetest lady and made our experience just as great as the food. My husband and I went again, today (Saturday at 11am or so) and definitely expected it to be busy-- it was, so we waited maybe 20 mins? It went by super fast. Once we were sat our server gave us excellent and quick service, she greeted us right away, got our drinks and put our order in while managing other tables. I didn't catch her name. We haven't had to wait long for our food both times we've visited despite how busy it is. Needless to say, this is my FAVORITE breakfast spot in town. The food is amazing, the service is top tier, and the inside of the place is so cute and clean. One thing I would like to mention is how organized and collected the staff was even during busy periods. People were coming in and leaving and as the tables came open they were cleaned and seated almost immediately-- by the waitress that was serving tables of her own.
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
What a place to have a breakfast! First it is downtown Columbus in one of the old buildings. The inside is beautiful and raw. The brick walls are left open and the old floor is being used. It is decorated with quirky signage. The clientele is very mixed, leaning toward the college age students. When you walk in, you feel happy. We had an amazing waitress. Very pleasant and informative. For our order we had a chicken biscuit and gravy to the side and a fried pork with gravy and white cheese bits. These are not your fast food biscuits. The biscuits are huge. There was plenty of meat in them. We were stuffed when we left and what are great taste. The price was more than reasonable.

Yelp
Came here for a quick morning breakfast walking in down home. I'll send country vibes ordered ice water and coffee to drink. Crushed ice is always a blessing in the water taste and refreshing the coffee rose robust full of flavor smooth very hot. Ordered the chicken coop in the breakfast burrito The chicken coop tacular in the fact of the biscuits there is something to say about the biscuits at this establishment top-tier there wasn't as much gravy as I was hoping, and the gravy was lacking in flavor and depth some of the pieces of the fried chicken were extremely chewy would've enjoyed a broiled cheese and then the chicken on top versus called cheese on top. The eggs were cooked wonderful and the yolk ran velvety. The burrito was good size. Had an OK amount of filling could've used more again the Grady was flavorless and had zero Deb's. He could've use more gravy as well on the breakfast burrito. The relish was very intriguing. It was a very Ziggy by the complimented well when paired with the burrito itself, our waitress didn't offer us any advice, it was quick to leave the table even though it was not very busy. Will come back to this establishment again to try some other menu options.

Yelp
Food was delicious first time to Georgia and have a real southern breakfast. Grits were buttery yummy. Son had the fried chicken great. Waitress were very nice and helpful with the menu.

Lupe O.

Yelp
Flakey biscuits, fast and polite service. Small quaint place. You can taste the sausage in the Biscuits and gravy. Six of us and no one had a complaint. Unique name - Love it.

Yelp
1st-- the food was so amazing!!! we had a group of nine in our party and we all tried to get something different. Everyone was extremely pleased with what they got. I personally ordered the Wilbur and I was able to add a fried egg on it and it was so delicious. 2nd. -- I cannot say enough wonderful things about our server, Tonyae! As I stated earlier, we were a large group. We had 6 adults and 3 children. We had a bit of a wait to get in because we were a larger group, but it was worth the weight and Tonyae made it worth the wait. She kept everything on track and kept everything running smoothly, which is a good thing cause we (our group )were going in a million different directions, but she was focused and amazing. She knew what we needed before we did.. 3. This is a small restaurant so if you have a little wait to get in, don't sweat it it's worth the wait. 4. Such a value! And the decor is fun and funky, and a little clucky!

Yelp
The food was great and the service was amazing! Great customer service! Party of 4 and we were able to sit down immediately. We ordered biscuits, chicken, gravy, grits, and home fries. Only feedback I have is the pineapple marmalade made the biscuit bottom soggy and the floors were really sticky. I would recommend putting the marmalade on the chicken instead of directly on the biscuit and degreasing/scrubbing the floor. High 4 score and would definitely eat here again.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Our server was very sweet, but the lady that took our names down for the waitlist was very cold and unwelcoming. In addition, we were given a table that still had a dirty napkin on it. Floors were so sticky that I initially thought my chair was bolted to the floor. My ratings for the food are as follows: -Aleksi wrap: 4/5 -bean and corn salad: 1/5 (very sour and bland at the same time) -biscuits: 4.5/5 -chicken pot pie: 3.5/5

Dayna C.

Yelp
If we could rate this place higher we would. Delicious food and the best hospitality.
