Google
Plum Market in Bloomfield Township is a top-tier grocery store for anyone who prioritizes organic and high-quality food. As a senior reviewer, I was thoroughly impressed with the extensive selection and the overall shopping experience. The store is a goldmine of organic options. I found everything I needed with ease, from organic peanut butter and jam to specialty items like Mountain Valley Spring Water. I was particularly pleased to discover delicious vegan cupcakes in their bakery, a testament to their commitment to catering to diverse dietary needs. The entire store is clean, well-organized, and the staff is both friendly and helpful. While the prices may be higher than average, the quality of the products and the pleasant shopping atmosphere make it a worthwhile investment. For me, Plum Market sets the standard for a superior grocery shopping experience.

Google
Great wine and beer selection! Love the sushi, prepared meals and incredible selection of produce. They have everything needed and more. Thier toiletries and cosmetics asle has even introduced me to some of my new favorite products thanks to the "testers." Thank you!

Google
Hot food and salad bar was very good. However, the other shoppers were extremely rude. Staff was mixed - some were very icy and others were nice. Not sure I’d shop here again.

Jazmine B.

Google
Customer Service Issue: Cashier by the name of Doreen is extremely rude each and Everytime I get her as cashier. Rather I’m shopping for a personal or a delivery service. She’ never seems to be in the best mood. If I could scan the orders myself I would but that’s what she’s here for. All other associates have been very polite and helpful expect Doreen. I was satisfied with my shopping experience but the checkout process wasn’t so pleasant. Despite her I do love the store and the variety of gluten free options for shoppers like myself.

Google
Great store for high quality food needs. I associate this to being like Nino Salvaggios but smaller and easier to shop. Nice fresh produce section. Very good quality in the butcher section. A nice variety of specialty soups, drinks, spices, for all of your dietary restrictions. Nice little cheese section with some attentive staff waiting to assist with suggestions. Staffed registers and self checkout made this an easy and efficient exit.

Google
Is an extremely high end, grocery store that blows any operation in Michigan from catering to deli produce fine wines and liquor! Whole Foods does not even come close. Preparation for major holidays for families to prepare for their Thanksgiving , Christmas Hanukkah .They have so many great ideas you have to try.

Joy C.

Google
Plum is a great high end market for grocery, produce, cheese, wine, baked goods, apothecary, gifts, cards & ready to eat…I could go on and on. Everything is clean, organized, easy to find and everyone that works there is very helpful. They have huge selections of everything!

Google
I got hooked on Plum Markets imported Parmesian, off the block, cheese a few years ago when my son, that lives in the area brought some north to me. I live 4-1/2 hours north in Michigan. Every time we travel south, I pick up 2-3 blocks. It's awesome with a slight nutty flavor. Can't beat it. Plum market never disappoints no matter what you're looking for. All their products are "Top Shelf".

Yelp
Plum has it figured out. Since they expanded this store got even better. Anytime I go to a different market I realize I should have gone to Plum.

Yelp
Plum is my go-to for unique items you cannot find anywhere else! Everything from their prepared foods, hot bar items, fresh juices, and assortment of beverages makes this place a guarenteed great experience! I love going to Plum for a quick grocery run or just to browse the store! They also have the best chicken tenders in Metro Detroit!

Jonathan Lightning R.

Yelp
My time is valuable and if I have to wait 4-5 minutes standing there waiting for your cashier or a manager to get the handheld scanner charged up and working; this time lost on my part makes me quite unhappy. A quick apology from the checkout clerk would have been nice but this is untrainable etiquette-- I get it. KEEP your scanners charged up and don't wast my time when I check out. There's no topic of conversation to discuss at checkout to keep me entertained 8/07/24 12:30pm)

Jonathan S.

Yelp
Picked up an amazing "All Natural" Boneless Ribeye, thick and juicy cut, ....grilled perfectly with a great sear and butter soft throughout. And the hot food was amazing. The sweet and sticky wings were awesome and the clam chowder was perfect. Plum Market - Highly Recommended

Yelp
Received a surprise gift of a lemon meringue pie! Had 1st piece tonight and it was really good ! Nice and light.

Yelp
I like coming here on some weekend mornings, (they open early!) and getting something yummy to bring home for breakfast. They've got a good selection, and everything I've tried is great! As I always like to mention in my reviews, the lovely staff is a delight.

Yelp
The store over all has good food, but it's quite small & actually cramped In some areas. If you're behind someone who likes to look at everything, your screwed. Just don't come if you're a impatient shopper, especially at peak times.

Yelp
Enter from the register side doors, it was closing in less than 15 minutes. We were looking for some dried sunsweet brand prunes, cereal and other items. Took us a whole 10 minutes to find the prunes, went up and down every aisle with no success. Ended up asking in pure desperation since we had less than 5 minutes before they closed their doors. We finally found small packets of the Newman's brand, passed on them since usually buy the tubs of them. They didn't have any prune brands we like or usually buy. Still like the plum stores for the smaller and intimate grocery stores. Any grocery seems so peaceful and serene when it's close to closing time, it's quite nice actually. You don't realize the chaos of a grocery store until you go before close or later at night.

Rich C.

Yelp
Bought a bunch of baby food and brought it home only to realize that it was over a week expired sitting on the shelf.... Plum doesn't care about their customers and would rather let our kids get sick than to throw out mishandled product.

Yelp
Besides being a bit costly, I like this place. You can find almost anything here, unique or plane Jane. I came here for the fruit pie/cake which tastes like the ultimate deliciousness in fruit and cake. It's layered with Chantilly cream and fresh-delicious fruits! This cake is seriously delicious. They have lots of interesting finds here and it's a small/local store which is always fun to support!

Yelp
They don't ruin the Zingermans bread by jamming it in plastic. The sherry selection is great- wines are stellar...

Yelp
I purchased online and was pleasantly surprised by the great packing and the speedy service.

Yelp
Plum Market has the best food in the area hands down. When I know I want the best quality I go to Plum. You definitely pay for the quality, but it's worth it. The produce, seafood, prepared foods and bakery are the best. Overall a great market.

Debrah J.

Yelp
I've been shopping at Plum Market in West Bloomfield since it opened. One always feels welcomed at the store because everyone is friendly and helpful! Plum Market has the cleanest environment and well laid out with wide aisles. Plum has the widest selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Plus, someone has always been available if I had any questions. Plum also has a beautiful wine selection to choose from. Again, theirs always someone available when I've had questions. You cannot beat their fish and meat department. It's the finest quality with the widest selection. I could go on and with many accolades regarding Plum Market, but I think I'm getting my point across. I truly ILove shopping at Plum Market for many more reasons then I posted. **************

Yelp
Food selection and quality is good however a lot of things are overpriced. We paid $110 for five steaks which were 30% more per pound than nearby grocery stores and not any better quality. It was Easter so we were limited with what stores were open. On a normal day, Plum Market wouldn't be my first choice to grocery shop.

Karin C.

Yelp
I love Plum Market. I can always find the special food items that I need that makes Plum Market so unique. I especially love the wine section and the Zingermans products. I really appreciate such a special store in my area. The service is impeccable! The ambiance of the store is clean and well organized.

Stephanie R.

Yelp
I always find a great selection of produce, meats, fish and carryout items. The bakery department is full of delicious Zingerman's breads and desserts by multiple vendors. There is a great wine and liquor department The staff is friendly and helpful. The market is clean and attractive. It's a wonderful store to shop in. The only downside are high prices but they reflect the high quality items that are offered. Stephanie R.

Yelp
We ordered catering for lunch today and it was an amazing spread! Beautiful, fresh, lots of different flavors. We had a large sampling of their salads, sandwiches and desserts. Everything was fabulous and we can't wait for them to open their new downtown Detroit location!

Alan K.

Yelp
The store is too small for the amt of merchandise.. aisles very narrow , and prices ridiculous.. don't need it!!! I wish it was Trader Joe's instead!!

Yelp
First time here today! LOVED IT!!! Bought a great wine for my boss, and stopped at the seafood county for crab legs b/c they were so pretty looking in the counter. I will be back! Wonderful experience!

Yelp
I love Plum Market! It's not the cheapest place to shop, but it is the most pleasant. It's the spa experience of grocery shopping. They have a great produce selection, a great wine, beer, and liquor selection, and great vegetarian items. They also have awesome and unusual gifts, including candles and flowers.

A C.

Yelp
I enjoy buying seafood from Plum Market. There is always a nice selection. I have been able to find specialty items that aren't in regular grocery stores' seafood counter. The store is always neat, clean and the customer service is great as well. I also enjoy the bakery area as well. It is always fresh.

Yelp
Feh feh! This has to be joke because all foods wasn't always that good through non fresh and spoiled foods! This why my family and I are no longer come hee to shop for foods after 2009! it's worthless to come shop here for spoiled veggies nor fruits over there for over costly prices! no one deserve get poisoning foods nor become sick from those ridiculous foods.. play it by safe.......

Yelp
I think Plum Market does certain things very well: the holiday catering is excellent, the prepared food is decent, their fishmonger and butcher and deli are all top notch. I am less impressed with the freshness of their produce, but I love the option of buying a precut butternut squash in the fall. The prices, of course, are fairly obscene, which prevents me from going frequently. I really wish they had a better cookie selection, and their breads are surprisingly weak. The app should update its own coupons - its not at all user friendly.

Yelp
Several stores in Detroit suburbs. Two in Ann Arbor. Small store in Detroit airport. Good for organic produce and higher quality meat & seafood. Used to be tops for "to go" but quality and consistency seems to have declined in past year. Still good but not great like before CoVid.

Michele N.

Yelp
Plum Market is one of my favorite places to shop. I mostly go there for their organic produce. The produce is beautiful and they carry most everything. The market is always so clean, organized and easy to find things. Friendly and helpful staff too with excellent customer service! They also have the best ready made foods.

James F.

Yelp
First time shopper and visitor at Plum Market Very impressed with the selection and quality of the merchandise. The deli and bakery smell great along with the meat selection seems good. So much opportunity on the liquor department! So much local fare throughout the store. Only wish I had this store near my home........

Karen W.

Yelp
Unusual options, high end quality (with a matching price, so probably best to buy your cornflakes elsewhere). Great service, I particularly like the house made choices and bakery selections. Clean, open and bright, with well stocked shelves.

Lucetta F.

Yelp
Beautifully presented fruits and vegetable. Delicious prepared foods. Unique offerings. A pleasure to shop there.

Linda J.

Yelp
I love the Plum Market in Bloomfield. It has a large selection of both groceries and food to go! Even though I do not live near there any more, I make it a point to go at least once a month. It is less expensive than other boutique markets with greater selection and wonderful customer service.

Trudy J.

Yelp
Excellent Market! Health products are great as well! I have been shopping at Plum Market for over 10 years and they never disappoint!!
google avatar

Despina T.

Yelp
I just wish there were more of these around the area! Plum is small enough to be your corner grocery store but big enough for great selections! They pride themselves on healthy, fresh, organic, etc. foods. Produce, meat, deli, seafood, bakery, flowers & an incredible wine selection! I love their freshly squeezed juices. They have cute Christmas sweets & chocolates. Plum also offers a shoppers card & they actually send good email offers what seems like every week, like 20% off your $50 purchase, etc. They do have a location at McNamara terminal at DTW but they don't accept their shoppers card at that location. Some of their produce & items can be extremely pricey.

LaShanna H.

Yelp
It's clean. The staff were all nice, engaging, and helpful. Great selection of fresh produce, meats, and poultry. I love the apothecary section.
google avatar

Yelp
Get over the prices because there are things her you just cannot get anywhere else. Always superior produce, hands down. Always first to offer up vegan items and the food bars are superior to Whole Foods. But I'm currently obsessed with the sushi burrito! (If you do not see any at the sushi bar, ask him to make you one). Michigan is always woefully behind the coastal trends. The closest thing we have to a sushi burrito is the sushi wrap at Chubby Duck downtown ... until now! And Plums is amazing: different textures, savory and a little sweet... perfect! Also: keep an eye on the specialty drinks at the coffee bar. The autumn warm cider is amazing!

Yelp
I stopped to buy some food at Plum Market on West Maple and Lahser on December 9, 2021 at 6:30 PM. Since I wanted to buy different kinds of mandarins, like the kishu mandarins, I looked for a produce clerk to hep me, but none was to be found. When I stopped at the fish counter, the man behind the counter told me he had just removed all the signs for the different fish but could replace them if necessary. Since I had to drive for over an hour to get home, I walked over to the soup counter to select some soup. The clerk was busily removing the pots of soup on her tray, getting ready to wheel them out. When I asked her to please stop, so I could choose some soup, she kept removing the signs and expressed her frustration with me for slowing her down. It was a little before 7 PM with three more hours of shopping for patrons before the normal store closing at 10:00 PM. I picked up some bread I had ordered in the morning and headed to the checkout counter. There were three people ahead of me in line. The checkout clerk and bagger were intensely discussing something, while trying to check out the first patron and going back and forth to knock on the office door, which was locked. Neither clerk thought of opening another lane to checkout the other patrons. Another clerk kept on walking back and forth, instructing clients to go to the self-checkout lane to check out. Nobody moved. I was not going to struggle with my three different types of mandarins to find the right code and waited in line. The clerk just kept on issuing commands but did to open up another checkout lane. When I finally checked out and paid after over twenty minutes of waiting in line, I walked over to a fourth clerk in a cap, apparently on guard duty to ask her where the spoons were and suggest she might want to open up one more checkout lane. She replied, "How can I make you happy, Honey? We don't have the staff, Honey. How can I make you happy, Honey?" I ate the soup, which was cold and stale. I walked over to the clerk in the cap again to ask where the waste receptacle was. She pointed me in the right direction, asking me one more time, "How can I make you happy, Honey?' There was not an adult in sight! I pinched myself as I walked out just to make sure I had not walked in to a Dollar store or Kroger in error.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Ron is so very helpful, knowledgeable, kind, and patient. Thanks for helping me with my endless questions.

Yelp
We have been shopping at Plum since they opened and have seen the many upgrades to the facility. On our weekly visit two weeks ago, in the coffee isle, we could not read the labels as we usually do and felt our eyes burning but couldn't understand why. We looked up and the store had new led lighting put in that section of the store...it was painful, not a good customer experience. All we wanted to do is leave. We went home and researched the affects of led lighting and found it is very harmful to the eyes and skin. See article https://marktechopto.com/technical-articles/understanding-ultraviolet-led-applications-and-precautions/ Please do not invest in completing the project for the rest of the store or any of your other stores. Thank you.

Mary Q.

Yelp
Prices have increased through the roof at this store for no known reason other than greed eg a single Pomegranate $8 1lb pound of Cantaloupe $8.99 lb is $4.99 lb at Whole Foods Prepared Salomn $30/ lb Rib lamb chops $59/lb better looking At Whole Foods and $22/lb Totally taking advantage of everyone and everything including the employees who are leaving in droves
google avatar

Collin O.

Yelp
This place is the best, they have an amazing food and wine selection and on top of that the service is great! Someone told me that the sushi is actually made at MON Jon Lau restaurant which I believe because it is amazing every single time. If you see a very old man stocking the produce he's actually the owner and he just cares so much about what he does that he's still at work. The prices are on the higher side a little bit but not terrible, but all in all for the neighborhood I think it's the best grocery store around
google avatar

Alfred M.

Yelp
Okay, I don't like being negative, but I walked out of the store. One item, Chrystal Geyser water one gallon-$2.65 and at other stores, one nearby where I purchased it, exactly the same product, not on sale, for $1.00. Come on, that's being sought with your pants down, what a rip off. I was there to purchase some aged parmigiano cheese, as I looked over the plastic wrapped pre priced packages around the impressive mega wheel, I noticed several packages with a green mold growing, I know enough about cheese to know tarts not a good sine on a hard cheese not parmigiano, not at there price, MOLD, That gave me the chills and I left may cart and walked out. I know they have pre-prepared food of quality, but I presume their clientele have more money than branes if they pay there prices, produce, wine . . .for sure, don't be taken in by the sales tags, shop around.

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Was shopping today checking out at self checkout and it said I needed assistance to scan something I was waiting for a while& then the family behind me kiosk went off to saying the same thing. We all waited for what seem like forever. A employee finally caught wind and rushed over HOWEVER she went right past me at the first kiosk and went directly to the family on other side closest to the exit. Not only had my kiosk went off first but I was closer and it blew my mind and yes I'am Brown Skinned Woman and the other family was the opposite ! I should've left but I needed my grocery's and it was late won't return to this location even though it's closer to my home

Alina V.

Yelp
I have been a loyal customer at Plum Market since it first opened. The quality of the hot bar, bakery, and entire grocery experience is far superior to Whole Foods. However, I am extremely disappointed that Plum has gotten rid of the features/idiosyncrasies that made it stand out. Ever since COVID, Plum no longer has a Zingerman's coffee bar and has stopped carrying goodies from Avalon Bakery and Silverland Bakery. Enjoying a muffin and latte before grocery shopping was a weekly ritual for me, but now the eating area has been downsized to accommodate self-checkout machines. I thought that Plum Market was not just a grocery store but an experience, and lately it has neglected that and moved in the direction of Whole Foods, eliminating an emphasis on human interaction and turning into a warehouse. This is very saddening and I hope Plum will return to what it once was. I used to gladly pay higher prices at Plum, since I knew my experience would include a nice latte and exclusive goodies from my favorite bakeries. Nowadays, I am going to Kroger and Whole Foods more often. This is unfortunate and I really want to see a change.

Yelp
Love me some plum market! They have all of my gluten free and dairy free needs!! I love the fresh sushi and hot foods bar! The pastry's they get some zingermans are so freaking delicious! The store is organized nicely, huge wine section if that peaks your interest. Full sized grocery store with a meat and seafood counter, hot food, and all the specialty items you really can't go wrong here!

Yelp
I've seen this place around, and decided to pop in today to check this place out. I enjoyed my time here, and have plenty of nice things to say, but also am hesitant about coming here again for a number of reasons as well. It seems that organic "whole food" style groceries seem to be popping up at a fast rate these days, and Plum Market is one of those. While I appreciate the organic, healthy way of things, I'm not a hard core shopper for any of these places. I could never see myself shopping full time at any of these places for any reason. Coming to Plum Market was fun. The place is clean, well stocked, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Much easier to get assistance then at any of the big box stores, that's for sure. Their produce was impressive, amazing wine selection with even better prices, and tons of grocery items. The meat and seafood counter was impressive as well, with everything you could think of. Top notch! But, the prices here are steep! EXPENSIVE. Yes, they have everything, and it was a pleasure to shop in a grocery store with such personal attention, but $13.99 for a pound of Michigan coffee? I love coffee and will splurge on something like that from time to time, but not as my daily cup. I don't know that I need specialty organic, free range, gluten free goat cheese hand made in Michigan by local farmers who drive Priuses. I mean, if you do that's fine, but I don't. Sometimes I just want regular cheese to throw in an omelette, ya know? Also, on yelp if you check into Plum Market it says you get a free reusable wine tote. So, I walked around and asked an employee about it who wasn't helping anyone else. They directed me to the register and said that they should have them at the checkout. Okay, good. So I finish my shopping and show the register girl my phone about the free wine tote. She just looked at me and said I had to go to the wine section to get it. So I did, but couldn't find it. So, I went back to the register, paid for my groceries and left. Maybe next time.... In closing, I really did like my time here, and will probably return for various random items. Such items would be coffee, a slice of their pizza, or maybe a sandwich.

Yelp
I never would have made the trip to shop here except that they had two products I couldn't find elsewhere--Duke's Mayonnaise and Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner. (Quite the combo, I know.) I should have known, however, that a store like this would cost me a lot more...every aisle had something I wanted and it all looked soooo good. Unfortunately, the store is a little on the expensive side, but everything is beautiful and organized and fresh and you can't beat the selection and variety. I wish we lived closer so I could go more often! Last but not least, their customer service is AWESOME! From the people serving samples to the manager walking the aisles who directed me to something I hadn't found to the cashier who was nice and chatty and offered me a store discount card...and finally, to the cashier and customer service agent who took care of me immediately (and without giving me a stink eye) when I realized I forgot to use a $10 coupon (thank you, Entertainment Book). *As a sidenote for other Yelpers, I could NOT check-in here, even from inside the store. It said the store was a mile away?!

Yelp
With Farmer Jack (Southeastern Michigan Grocer) going out of business on the NE corner of Maple and Lahser and Kroger "claiming" that they are relocating to that spot (I thought January 08 was when it was supposed to open...), we were left without a convenient grocer. Along came Plum Market- a step up (more like a gigantic leap) from your average grocer. Plum, a locally generated budding grocery enterprise, strives to deliver "impeccable freshness and incomparable quality." Plum not only carries the freshest produce, they also promote Michigan farmers by showcasing their produce (check out the website for more fun facts!). I love plum because it has the health food store mindset like a Whole Foods, but it also allows me to get my beloved national brand items as well. I also recently found out- and tried- their fresh pizza dough from the bakery (made daily). It was AMAZING! My only drawback is that it can be a little pricey at times- but for the quality- in my book, it's worth it.

Polina S.

Yelp
The same items and brands that you can find at any store for the price that is three times less. I understand when it is some unique items/produce, but the same fruits/ veggies/canned veggies/fruits, etc. I don't know... Personally, i would not shop here.

Izzy E.

Yelp
Every time I come to Plum Market for a Birthday cake they can never write happy birthday on it. The bakery people aren't nice about it either. They say want to use a chocolate disk that says "happy anniversary" or "congratulations"..I mean it's a birthday why would I want that, or the employees say the person who writes on the cakes "left". If your selling cakes you should have plain chocolate disks for the people to write something on it. Also, to top it of, their handwriting SUCKS. If someone works in the bakery, they should know how to write. I won't be buying anymore cakes from here.

Boodah D.

Yelp
This my favorite market when fresh is on my mind. I try to minimize time here as wallet capacity quickly outweighed by shopping basket . But like Boodah says... good things in life are not cheap. To me it is nice boutique market with unique items not normally found in average low class markets (no offense low class markets- you just can't compare, sorry). For me it simple, Plum Market is diamond among wasteland of grocery stores. Shop wisely and save money where you can my friends!
