"Open since 2017, Long Beach’s Plunge is on the second story of the 1900 Ocean Building. It’s also friendly to the plant-based crowd with a vegan ceviche and a orecchiette ragu pasta. But they’ve also got tequila tastings and crowd pleasers like a crispy chicken thigh and lobster mac and cheese." - Eater Staff

Google
The food was delicious it’s a little pricey but it’s worth it for a nice view and good vibes All I can say is treat yo self! Then take a nice walk by the beach 😊 You have to find parking in the street so come early to find a good spot like a 3-7 min walk. Side note: make a reservation it’s better to. Our waitress was superb. Thank you for a nice time

Google
beautiful view + amazing food. the garlic fries have to be the best thing on the menu! the burgers are very fulfilling. the prices are also reasonable due to the serving sizes.

Google
Wonderful place for a meal with a view in Long Beach. Service was excellent, though I would suggest they ask customers if they want iced or hot coffee beverages when placing their orders. I had the espresso martini. It was spot-on, and so was my burger that had an egg and bacon on it. Yummy! Parking can be a hard find on the weekends.

Google
Parking is a little tricky because you need to find street parking. You might have to park a couple blocks away but that’s kind of expected for this kind of area. The restaurant is located inside a fancy hotel building, Despite the place being busy the staff were really friendly and seated us right away. Ordered cappuccinos, brunch burger with kale, and a breakfast burrito. Tasted amazing, affordable prices and portion sizes. Really nice views overlooking the ocean.

Google
Food was great! Excellent choices in substitutions if you have a food allergy or preferences for your meal. We got brunch here, and while the service was a little slow, we didn't mind because they were very kind and attentive. Fantastic views of the water as well. The hummus appetizer (pictured below) and side of garlic fries (pictured with the breakfast burger) are both to die for!!!

Google
Really beautiful and scenic dining experience at Plunge. The food was fantastic, and our waiter Frankie was very helpful in their recommendations and service. The Award Winning Burger was outstanding, and the Korean Cauliflower Wings were really superb. A high recommendation for a beautiful sunset dinner. Book a reservation to make it easier on yourself, even if it is same day.

Google
Hidden Gem. Absolutely love it. Caught it at a great time, not busy but got busier. Amazing views and tranquil when it's not loud. 2 appetizers and 2 glasses of prosecco. Easy street parking mid day/week.

Eat some brunch, then save the world. Without further ado let’s begin this Sunday good review. Plunge is an American restaurant overlooking the ocean in Long Beach, CA. It is located on the second floor of the Ocean Front luxury beach club between 14th street and Ocean avenue. This restaurant is very laid-back eatery that offers classic brunch food and cocktails. They have a modest food/drink selection on their menu. I was warmly greeted by a male host and sat at a high table facing with a beach view. I decided to order a farmers market greens salad with jidori chicken and a fresh 100% squeezed OJ. Food was delightful and fresh, similarly, their OJ was cold fresh and purely refreshing. My female server, Mary Jane, was affable, assiduous and obsequious. Service was on point. Atmosphere was quite relaxing. Staff were brilliantly professional. Prices were fair. Street parking only. Overall, I had a good experiments a first time customer. I recommend this brunch spot in LBC.

Yelp
Plunge is modern and sophisticated. The fresh, curated layout, the floor to ceiling, pristinely cared for windows set the perfect vibe for a girls brunch or hot date. The staff has a 'yes' mentality and make requests happen--be it switching tables, moving tables, splitting meals and checks, serving orders family style and keeping up with delicious beverages that are constantly being ordered. My top favs: Espresso martini- it sure puts a pep in your step Plunge burger- perfectly cooked and juicy Avo toast- fresh, lots of flavors as you bite into it I recommend carpooling.

Yelp
RUDE AF UNPROFESSIONAL trash of a business. My sister wanted to have her bday lunch here today & she said they don't take reservations , she probably got it from Yelp or their actual website. So no need to call to confirm hours or ask if dogs are allowed .. cuz online it says so! So our party of 9 plus 2 dogs are on their way from the SGV & one friend arrives first & is told by a building employee this dump is CLOSED for renovations.. When i went on their Yelp page YESTERDAY it most certainly did NOT say they were closed.. yet magically today it does minutes before we arrive. They should've put a big assssss banner on their site or modify their hours on Yelp! I'll never consider dining here & I will not recommend. Instead I'll pray for the livelihood of the staff MINUS the management :/

Yelp
The parking nonexistent we parked at the park Around the block. I'll definitely give them a five star for the view ! Unfortunately, the food was a major problem. I guess their fryers was down , but they did have a beyond option which I appreciated. Definitely needed more service. We ended up busting a table just out of being impatient.

Yelp
Visited my niece for her birthday and she wanted to go to Plunge for brunch. I was more than impressed with this place, it's beautiful. The ambiance is classy yet down to earth, not stuffy. They have a bar area and also a big screen on the wall in front of a large table. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Plunge was a happy find for us being locals to Long Beach. I remember coming here about 9 years ago, it was a little convenience store and some seating, likely for the residents. This was when I was looking to lease in the building. This place is pretty awesome now, and totally a secret find!! The drinks were delicious and well poured, my Benedict was yummy. The view is outstanding! Highly recommended for mimosas brunch for a both a small or medium sized group... or actually even large. There's a fire place with some intimate seating if you're either waiting for your table or just hanging out. We think our server maybe hungover or something, but still very attentive (poor guy)... We actually rode escooters there, so I'm unsure of the parking, but surely there is valet. Front door is locked, you have to be let in by the door person. 10/10 Recommend!

Adonis H.

Yelp
Best view in Long Beach with a great vibe and food to match. I've yet to have a better Cubano sandwich since I've been here and I can't wait to go back! They are right on the beach and offer some good options and elevated flavors. Can be a casual or more dressed up spot as it serves both vibes.

Yelp
Plunge gets 5 stars in my book for the overall experience! It was a gorgeous sunny afternoon that my friend and I visited this establishment for brunch. I was looking for something dog-friendly (as I often do), and surprisingly, this restaurant had an indoor dog friendly dining area! I have never seen indoor dog friendly dining ever in my life, and I was so overjoyed that the restaurant that offered this overlooked the ocean and had great food. The service and the ambiance are what shined the most at this restaurant. Tall soaring windows that directly overlook the ocean, and every seat in the house has an ocean view. Also, Plunge had the service of a 5 star restaurant. They have such an attentive staff that are excellent at making small conversation to make your dining experience just a bit more enjoyable. The food here is not going to be the greatest food you've ever had, but it's definitely delicious. I ordered the breakfast burrito and my friend ordered the crab cake benedict. The crab cake benedict was absolutely divine and we both enjoyed it more than the the burrito. I highly recommend the crab cake benedict if you visit! The burrito was great too, but after trying the crab cakes, I just can't look back! I also ordered an espresso martini, which was delicious and the perfect pick me up to start the day. The ONLY downside of this restaurant is that it does not have dedicated parking, and it's in a busy area in Long Beach. My recommendation is to park along the nearby park and walk over. There was a farmers market going on at the park when I visited, but luckily I was still able to find parking after about 5 minutes of circling. I will 100% be back with my dogs to enjoy a delicious Sunday brunch with a view in the near future. This restaurant really provides the complete experience. Whether you want to dine with your dogs indoors to escape the intense Socal summer heat, or just enjoy a great restaurant with a beautiful view, this is the place to be.

Yelp
What a fantastic find. Quick search for a place for brunch with an ocean view brought us to Plunge, inside 1900 Ocean Beach Club. Melissa was fantastic, explaining the memo and location. Sourdough app was killer, mixed green salad add chicken was refreshing and I had the breakfast burrito with sausage. A bottle of Trefethin Chardonnay of course, it WAS brunch! This was such a great find and will certainly pin it for our next visit.

Yelp
STEPH JUDGEMENT: Wonderful views, great food, very nice service. How have I not reviewed this place yet?! I've been a fan since they first opened and they just keep getting better! I come here mostly for breakfast/brunch--it doesn't seem to get overly crowded like a lot of breakfast joints in town, probably because it's not really visible from the street. Located on the second floor of a luxury apartment building, their modern, sophisticated decor is in keeping with the surroundings and they have expansive windows that face the ocean, through which you get good views from pretty much everywhere. I believe they also have patio seating, but have yet to try it. They offer a pretty good selection of vegetarian/pescatarian items (the crab cake benedict is always a favorite), and I can't say I've ever had anything disappointing here. Service has always been friendly and prompt--definitely one of my most fave places in Long Beach.

Yelp
Ok Plunge!!!!!! What a hidden gem!!!!! Peninsula Sunrise- BOMB. it's like a premium tequila sunrise. Chilaquiles- great!!!!! (although I added the chicken and it kind of was not a great addition. I didn't really like the texture of the chicken). Excellent sauce ratio. Good flavor. Nice amount of eggs Steak and eggs- my boyfriend sis the steak was well cooked. He got egg whites. Said he'd get the dish again. We went on a rainy day, so the view was hard to fully taken. But I just enjoyed having a view of outside and watching the people walk below. It was nicer inside in the pictures let on. I feel like you could go here with your girls for a cute brunch and dress cute. But also you could walk in for a lazy Saturday morning brunch in sweats and still fit in. The server was nice. He wasn't really around a lot, but we really didn't need him. Nothing really to praise or doc stars for

Yelp
The view is gorgeous! The food is a bit disappointing. I expected a great meal with the view. I went on a Friday afternoon and it was empty, so we got an incredible table. You order at a counter and seating is first come first served. They offer a variety of beverages, including wine, beer and spirits. Sadly, the menu was very limited. There were only two entrees, a burger with fries or a breakfast burrito. Everything else on the menu was an appetizer. We ordered a burger with fries, the shrimp and buffalo cauliflower. The food was good, but we were expecting a meal and hadn't had lunch. It would have been 5 stars if they offered more than appetizers on the menu.

Simon K.

Yelp
This time started with the garlic fries as an appetizer. Was huge and could feed 4 people easily. Nice and crispy! Came with a wonderful lemon garlic aioli. My wife loved The Local which was basically bacon and eggs. She got it with wheat toast that she liked. They take reservations which is recommended if you want to sit by the window for a view of the ocean. Otherwise you'll still easily get a table without a reservation, just farther away. As usual parking is a hassle because you have to find a street spot. I highly recommend over shooting the blue striped building slightly then turn right up the street to get a spot. Otherwise if you turn prematurely then all the one way streets work against you in the wrong direction.

Yelp
Wow! What a hidden gem! We are RVing and travel with our pug, so we called ahead to see if they could accommodate us. Not only do they allow pets, but we were sat at the best seat in the house - inside even! It was a little difficult to locate, but we were in bikes, so it may have been harder to find because we were coming from the beachside. It's located in what seems to be a shopping/apartment building. Once we were sat, we were thrilled with their Happy Hour, which was half off appetizers and several drinks specials. Had house margaritas for $8 and draft beer for $5. Great deal! Service was awesome, drinks were tasty and the food was really nice! Fried calamari, shrimp ceviche and crab cakes. All delicious. We had a great time with an incredible view. We will definitely be back! Thank you for the hospitality!

Diana T.

Yelp
Firstly I must point out , it is a nightmare to find parking! We called the restaurant and they said to go by the beach lol Along with every other person in Long Beach After circling the parking lot for 20 minutes we finally got a metered spot. Then we had to walk back over to the building the restaurant is actually situated in. You can climb a stairway to the second floor or take an elevator. The bathrooms are located outside the restaurant where other businesses use them. Once we were in the restaurant we were seated by the window with a great view The server came and said water would be served shortly and took our drink order but had to check twice about what was available. Online you can see a menu with many choices but you are actually limited. This is also true for the Menu. There was an All Day menu advertised online but NOT available. The photo I have taken is the only menu provided. Dinner starts at 3 pm. We arrived at almost 1 pm We ordered Calamari and Garlic Fries to start. Then we had an order of French Toast, two orders of Hollandaise Crab Cakes, Poke Bowl and a Hollandaise Spinach and poached egg. Overall the food was average. Not much flavor to the crab, hollandaise was overwhelming everything else. French toast was great. Poke Bowl was flavorless. View was great though The chairs you sit on become more and more uncomfortable as time goes on. Grey ones! We took a short cut back to the beach through the parking garage using the elevator. Got pretty busy by the time we left. I read Yelp reviews before going but a little disappointed.

Maria C.

Yelp
Yes, we are fortunate in Long Beach to have many great restaurants just a few minutes drive from home. We were curious to check out this restaurant in an unexpected location, but surprisingly very happy to stumble upon it. The "Plunge" restaurant has a stunning view of the ocean!!! We ordered Crab cakes, Cobb salad, and a Blackened Chicken sandwich with a glass of California chardonnay and sauvignon blanc. The food and the wines were delicious, the waitress was a super friendly and attentive young lady, and the atmosphere was incredibly peaceful and beautiful. My husband and I were so grateful that we could enjoy a wonderfully delightful and stress-free lunch, and we'll continue to visit this place. Two thumbs up!!

Amy-Christine L.

Yelp
Feeling embarrassed on behalf of the plunge for the way they handled our dining experience. tried to set a reservation a couple months in advance for a group of 8, was told on several occasions to email the owner. never got a response to any of the ~10 emails I sent but was told my group was welcome to dine. when we got there we were informed that our only food selections would be the first three items on the menu because during winter they abbreviate their offerings. wouldn't have minded that except for that this rule only applied to us and somehow every other diner was exempt. so bizarre. one of us found a hair in her food but at least she was not charged for her meal so I guess they hit the bare minimum in that respect.

carol h.

Yelp
Went for first time today (Wednesday) afternoon for their "advertised" 1/2 off wine. We enjoyed the beautiful views and food. Our waiter was very nice but our bill was not. Apparently wine special is for bottles of wine not specified. Not cool!

Luna L.

Yelp
My first negative review. Employees stole my gift card even though I went back to the restaurant and called numerous times. When I finally got a hold of a manager, they said they would look in to it and call me back. Ghosted. Music was so loud we could barely hear each other at the table. Never again ):

Danielle R.

Yelp
This place is such a beautiful little restaurant. We came for breakfast and the view was so perfect! Food was great portion sizes and priced accordingly. Our server was very attentive and friendly.

Rebecca D.

Yelp
I had a nice lunch experience here today with my best friend. It is on the 2nd floor of a high-rise condo building. Contemporary clean space with an ocean view. Our servers were friendly and our fish sandwich and beet salad arrived quickly. We decided we will come again and meet up for happy hour one night soon.

Travis D.

Yelp
Great little place with a fantastic view. Recent changes in service may be problematic though.

Julia W.

Yelp
Terrible, won't be back. Staff was not prepared and did know the menu. Give them a few years or new management. View is nice but nothing great if you would like to eat.

C P.

Yelp
The views are amazing. The food was decent and the drinks are fine. They allowed a horse 200 pound dog to dine in and displace patrons. The dog slobbered all over the floor and tables. This was very disturbing and distasteful. I would not recommend you dine here. Everyone in the dining room was appalled and service at close out was slow.

Renee L.

Yelp
Power Bowl and Roasted Beet Bowl is frecken delicious! Tomorrow I might have to go with the Jackfruit Sliders. Check it out peeps, they have a menu for everyone. Enjoy

Gauravi P.

Yelp
I wanted to give this establishment a four stars because they are dog friendly and allowed us to bring our dog to lunch even though they do not have an outdoor patio. But, the food was so so and the ambience was a bit stodgy. I think a lot of people come here for the gorgeous view of the ocean and beach. The crowd however is older and more reserved. This restaurant is located inside an apartment high rise. So, don't be confused when you first arrive. You are probably in the right place! We ordered the crab cakes and chef's special: mussel, salmon, and scallop stew. The stew had bacon in it. I really wanted to order the mussels but felt like the waitress was forcing me to order the stew. Which is my own fault because I should have put my foot down :) Anyway, the food was good but nothing out of this world. Service was pleasant and friendly. I will say a lot of people like to be seated by the window for the water view. So be sure to expect this when you are seated! Sometimes it can feel crowded even though it's just one area of the restaurant that is filled.

Megan B.

Yelp
They have happy hour all day on Thursdays - half off apps, $5 draft beer, $8 cocktails. However, they only had one beer on draft available when we went. Not the best vibes for happy hour with a group - a quiet spot hidden in an apartment complex. You can see the water, but don't go for the views. I didn't have any food - solely basing on my happy hour experience.

Tasha C.

Yelp
Sunday brunch Window seat with a clear view NO WAIT Service was great Everything was perfect

Casie B.

Yelp
This place is great to bring friends and family visiting along Beach- great views and great food. Parking is tough around this area so give yourself an extra 15 minutes before your reservation.

Rena T.

Yelp
I love coming here. This is my 4th time here and the Ube French toast OMG. Get it. You don't know what you're missing.

Gabby S.

Yelp
Love the food, cocktails, and especially the view! There aren't many ocean view restaurants like this in Long Beach, so I always bring out-of-town visitors here. We've made reservations every time we've eaten here, but walk-ins are also possible here.

Jamaica Y.

Yelp
I had an incredible dinner here last night with impeccable service (Luka) and a stunning view. It was easily a five star experience, and Plunge is a hidden gem. My one star deduction is 100% warranted for two reasons. (1) During my previous visit here I had a server (a woman whose name escapes me) who was so rude that I wondered if I had somehow personally offended her although I had done nothing more than asked if the restaurant had a full bar. (2) The true travesty is that, despite having a "spirits" section of the menu with a slew of cocktails containing "vodka, rum, gin" etc... the restaurant does NOT in fact have a full bar and is serving mock versions of these spirits without providing any indication of this on the menu. I know! I swear it's true. Check the menu and call and ask for yourself. It's wild. Otherwise, love this place. The good: - Stunning ocean views - Chic decor - Dreamy mussels--must order (get extra bread) - Service generally - Lobster mac and cheese is worth the price tag - Salmon was sooo crispy on the outside the way I love it and the zucchini corn succotash gives elevated Mexican esquite vibes - Crispy chicken thigh was excellent - Good wine (skip the "spirits") The bad: - I can't get over the spirits thing - Good luck with parking The mediocre: - Note that this is upstairs of a buzz-in residential building... so you'll need to get buzzed in and let them know you're going to the restaurant Bon appétit.

Esther J. C.

Yelp
I don't know why I haven't written a review here before. I thought I did. Lol! Anyway, this is one of my favorite places to come to for celebrating or brunches or even dates and definitely kid-friendly. Outdoor patio is nice and so is the indoor seating! The views are beautiful and the food and service are always great! The tortilla soup is one of my friend's faves. I love the chowder. The salads are yummy too! And if you love lobster and Mac n cheese, their lobster mac n cheese is so yummy! Drinks are great here too! Hope you enjoy!

Jacob G.

Yelp
Food was not properly handled. I ordered a breakfast burrito on a Saturday for brunch. It came in with TWO large egg shells just counting the ones I saw at the surface. I even bit one!! Horrible experience. See pictures attached. Server was also so unprofessional today. She didn't follow up from first serving us for at least 15 minutes, so we sat there waiting for her to follow up. Mind it was empty that morning. After having to flag her down, she decided to walk over to greet a second group that had just arrived and ignored my waving. Had they not arrived and she would have taken longer! She took her sweet time with them btw. I was hungry so I asked them to make a second burrito, which took another 20 minutes to prep and serve. At this point it had been an hour since orders first went in. Server didn't offer a complimentary drink while I waited the entire time hungry... She didn't even say sorry for her staff. She was also absent a lot and only refilled our waters once. Mind she splashed water on the floor when she did think of us. And I stepped on it when we left. Of course I did not tip. No way!! My friends and I also did not buy drinks here. we had like no chance to even see her and order and by that time.. we were done. They run for $16+ and I've had them before. They're overpriced and look fancy but they taste bland and I know they can work on them. I'm an excellent judge of drink and I can tell you, I'd rather get a dive bar drink.. This is the last time I'll visit this wanna-be all that joint. the ambiance is only there when we make it fun and the server did not help us feel better about the experience. I will wait for a manager to respond to this post or it's dropping to ONE star for the review.

Sonja T.

Yelp
Great oceanfront restaurant 2nd floor that is dog friendly...and its indoors! $15 mai tai. 5 coconut shrimp $21. Cheese burger around $22. Great staff. The only complaint would be the chairs. Not able to lean back...like a barstool more than a chair. One long bench seating is available interior.

Dena S.

Yelp
Breakfast burrito was very good sausage tasty plenty of eggs. We added bacon for an add cost. Delicious. Pancakes were tasty. Ours were very small and we said something they brought us another order. The staff was kind attentive and friendly:

Lucy R.

Yelp
Awesome service, nice view. I order the chilaquiles and drinks it was awesome. I will definitely will be come back

Cait B.

Yelp
I came here for lunch during the week and it wasn't busy at all. The servers were missing for the first half of when we got there, but once they came out, the service was great. The food was really refreshing and they had a lot of healthy options. The views were stunning and the vibe was very low key.

Yonnie C.

Yelp
Came here on Sunday to have brunch with a former coworker. Parking available on the street, found something on second street and hermosa due to a Long Beach marathon happening on same day. Ordered a breakfast burrito with carne asada meat; came with 3 pieces of fruit. Yum! Ocean views from our seat, it was nice. Limited menu options though. Also the restaurant failed to let us know there was a marathon that morning so we spent extra 20 min trying to find parking and when I arrived, I spent extra 40 min getting out of the neighborhood due to closed roads and too many runners. It was chaotic.

Alex L.

Yelp
Definitely a little bit of a hidden gem with a great view. I came here after yoga on the bluff to explore a bit of their menu and this place is hidden away in an apartment complex. It wasn't too crowded, but had beautiful views of the ocean as you were dining. I had a watermelon salad, which was incredibly refreshing with pieces of prosciutto and a burger with the garlic fries. You could tell each item had ingredients that were sourced with love, because they were all pretty delectable. I thought the burger portion was a little slim for the price (not a ton of meat), but the taste of everything blew me away, that I thought I'd adjust my expectations accordingly and feel grateful that I didn't overeat...Wednesday's they offer bottles of wine at 50% off as well. The s'mores vegan dessert was amazing too. Service was seamless and nice. Highly recommended!

Kellie B.

Yelp
Great view, especially at sunset. Luka was our server and can't say enough good things. He was very warm, but laid back and attentive. It really made the experience very enjoyable. The margaritas were good and strong. Garlic fries were delicious. My only minor complaint is that there's not a lot of food choices on the happy hour menu, but this is typical of most places. This is a great place if you actually want to have a conversation. The music is not too loud and the general vibe is low key. Great spot!

Lala F.

Yelp
As an OG of LBC it was truly a nostalgic morning !! Loved this spot not only because of the location but the vibe ambience service and food I cannot complain no bad experience here and will return. The food was fair ... the potatoes were tasty. I def recommend!

Jaz W.

Yelp
Amazing food, beautiful views, and great service! Perfect brunch spot or great for dinner! I was amazed at how beautiful the view was..Best to call ahead to reserve your perfect spot, because this is a populat spot amongst locals. There is also a really nice bar to sit at; what you sacrifice in views you'll make up in great drinks!

B B.

Yelp
Really was looking forward to eating here But... From the greeter to the waiter to the food it wa all ...meh! The iced coffee was brown water with froth. Was today the froth was from "shaking " the coffee! Really?! It was AWEFUL The bacon was so thin it looked like the thin sliced bacon from the grocery store. Eggs sooo small could not believe I had 2 eggs on the plate. That said...don't waste your time and money here. It use to be a very good experience Not any more

Gina L.

Yelp
Great views, the drinks are a bit pricey and the food was a small amount for the price. Parking is horrible. But glad I went during Happy Hout!!!

Wyatt R.

Yelp
I would not recommend this place if you are in a hurry as they are a little short on staff it seems. If you are looking for a nice brunch spot for a good price, I would absolutely recommend. Delicious, original drinks (try the matchtini!) and the food is very good quality and tasty. The ocean view is also fantastic!

Kathryn C.

Yelp
Love this location but showed up just for happy hour only to find out from the waitress that they no longer do evening happy hours except for Thursday. Disappointed because it is marketed in various places. Waitress didn't even try to talk to manager to see if a discount could be arranged. Feel more could have been done from a customer service perspective. We still ended up eating and the Mac and cheese and Brussels were both very good.

Yassi A.

Yelp
Good service, good food, and an incredible view. I feel this is a hidden gem & kind of want to keep it that way. I went for brunch with a friend who was down to order a few things and share them all so we got to taste more than one thing. We started with the summer beet salad that was so good that I've attempted to re-create it at home numerous times. Then we split the brunch burger with garlic fries. The burger was just like how most men want their women, thick & juicy! It was my first time eating an egg on a burger & I thoroughly enjoyed it. The bacon is bomb too. The ocean view is beautiful. I almost felt like I was in South Beach, Miami. The pricing is worth the good quality of food. Overall, I recommend Plunge but don't blow up the spot! Lol

Yoojin S.

Yelp
Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in SoCal. Relaxed and quiet atmosphere. Panoramic ocean views. It's located on the 2nd floor of an apartment, a little hard to find but you'll see signs that lead you in. You'll feel like a fancy local. And food is so good!! Their Pesto Pasta is a family favorite. I think about their vegan chickpea based Tuna Melt occasionally. Their vegan cheese is absolutely the best! It is magic. So gooey and ooey. I wish I knew what brand they use so I could at least attempt it in my pandemic kitchen. However, although the Happy Tuna Melt is listed as vegan, to actually have vegan cheese is a $1.5 extra. Err... ok? It's totally worth it still. And they asked if I wanted a salad or something else as a side, sure. Added a simple side salad and noticed it was a $5 add on. :0 I felt misled, definitely they should have said the price or listed the add-on on the menu which is not here. Some improvements: - Indoor dining only (from what it seems like and what we were given), but tables weren't 6ft apart... It would def be nice if they were. We were fully vaxxed but I donno it still was uncomfortable dining so close to another table that was really loud.

Yelp
TLDR; food - good (we could have also been starving) service sub par. Only ordered take out but the views and ambiance are nice! First I was put on hold for 3-4 min (was going to hang up but we were starving and we live across the street) when the server finally picked up again & she said quite rudely, "still there? What do you want?" I ordered our dinner, hummus, burger no cheese add jalapeños (lactose intolerant). She repeated it correctly and said it's about 20 min. I show up 20 min and it's not ready but I pay for our meal; and ended up waiting an extra 15 min after that. No one was really checking in on me either while I sat at the bar waiting. The restaurant was not busy upstairs or down on the patio; I don't know what was taking so long. After receiving our meal I took it back to our apartment to open it and see a burger with cheese, no jalapeños but i was still charged. Fries were delicious, burger would've been better with the jalapeños and w/o me stripping off the cheese; and the hummus was good too; I liked the crunchy garbanzo beans! The food would've been a lot more enjoyable with a better, seamless experience with the staff. Maybe we'll give the sit in a try.
