"Plush closed because of the “combination of ever raising prices and new regulations” which were “just too much,” according to a Facebook post by general manager Ryan Cunningham on May 23. The plan, for now, is to eventually relocate the 617 Red River Street club to somewhere else that isn’t downtown Austin, according to the post. It was known for showcasing DJs since it opened in 2000 by co-owner Melissa Villarreal." - Nadia Chaudhury

I looove this place. Good diversity of music throughout the month, friendly staff, good vibes, always free. I like to dance and this is probably my favorite place to go. I also tend to meet pretty awesome people here, dancers and otherwise. I found it after moving here 2.5 years ago and it's always been a top spot for me.

Excellent spot - real small place and really genuine. People here want to have dance and have fun in a genuine way. Drinks are really affordable, lots of food available nearby if you need some fuel. They bring in some great historically important acts and cutting edge stuff. Better than the straight laced dance spots w/ big covers.

It's open late and has great music. This place has a sound system like I've never seen in any other establishment. It's kinda unbelievable. I've heard that it is "the best sound system in Austin". I'm not sure by who's standard. I'm no audiophile but the speaker is my favorite spot. They host some of the greatest EDM artists which brings out a great crowd. On a slow night the vibe is mellow and the DJs still put it down as if the floor was packed. Check it out sometime! I'll be the guy encouraging you to stand by the speaker!

I've been going to this bar since 2000... I love it. The music, the people, the vibe! So much love. Longest running Drum & Bass Night Tuesday that I know of. If you love the underground check it out!

Some of the best (new) electronic music that I've heard at a club. The DJs on DnB night absolutely slayed it on the decks, showcasing how serious this establishment cares about their quality. The setting is intimate, but that allows for getting to know then people around you, creating a more fun and inviting experience. The bouncer recognized me from the first time I was there days ago and made it a point to say hi. Drinks were fairly priced and service was good overall. Checkout the bathrooms while you're there.

An intimate, friendly little club. The staff seemed friendly, nice bartender and bouncer, friendly crowd as well. Drinks were reasonably priced. Good lineup of DJs. Happy to find electronic music in Austin on a Sunday night.

Great service, well made drinks, typically great music, and a FANTASTIC sound system. Definitely THE place to be in Austin on Tuesdays if you like Drum and Bass/Jungle. May only be the only second longest running DnB weekly in the nation, but it's number one in the south!

I have found my people at Plush. First time out on a Tuesday and I heard drum and bass from the street. Super friendly people inside and absolutely absorbing sexy sounds with beautiful women who like to have a good time. Felt like home away from home in Detroit. Highly recommended.
