The Best New Restaurants In Paris - Paris - The Infatuation

"It’s worth braving the tourists around Hôtel de Ville for a table at Pluto, a chill canteen hidden inside Lafayette Anticipations, the Rem Koolhaas-designed contemporary art center across from the BHV/Marais department store. There are only a dozen or so blonde wood tables in a bright but ultra-minimalist concrete space, which makes lunch at this all-day café feel almost meditative. You might expect serious or experimental food given the environment, but the chef’s short lunch menu is regressive and comforting. You’ll choose from only four options that change constantly, but which may be a croque madame with pastrami and chili oil, a saucisse-purée punched up with salsa verde, or a seasonal vegetable tourte that’s healthy but hearty. Portions are modest, meaning you should absolutely order the chocolate and sea salt cookie and Basque cheesecake with a prune and olive oil dipping sauce for dessert." - sara lieberman, lindsey tramuta, lindsey tramuta, lindsey tramuta, lindsey tramuta, lindsey tramuta, lindsey tramuta, lindsey tramuta, sara lieberman, sara lieberman, sara lieberman, lindsey tramuta, sara lieberman

One of my favorite spots to grab lunch in the Marais. The menu focuses on small plates to share and has enough options without being excessive. The flavors are bold without being self indulgent. The setting is casual but with careful attention to detail, from the playful Pluto lamps to the geometric tables. The wine selection is equally carefully curated. The coffee hits the spot. I just wish they had some freshly squeezed juice on the menu.

The ambiance of this place is simply incredible, it exudes a Parisian charm reminiscent of the movie. The menu offers a delightful array of dishes that change frequently, ensuring a consistently fresh and exciting dining experience. The flavors are perfectly balanced and the dishes are simply delicious. The service is impeccable, as one would expect in a place of this caliber.

Delicious, modern food. International with strong French point of view. Very cool modern and tasteful decor. The staff is super kind. Casual but cool for lunch. Great coffee, juices, desserts too.

I didn’t feel the food scene in Paris is as good as before until I tried this place. Pluto really puts Paris back on the ‘wow’ map for me The ambience might be a little cold now given it’s in a building n it’s only their first week but the staff told me they are looking to make the space more cozy very soon Service was impeccable!! The waitress is so knowledgeable with wine you can trust her! She will recommend the best pairing for your food The food is AMAZING in capital letters!! It’s packed with flavors so so good

Really disappointing experience, having messaged on Instagram to check they had vegetarian options and being told 70% of the menu was vegetarian, asking our waitress what was vegetarian when we got there and confirming that we were vegetarian with the waiter who took our order, then waiting 1 hour for our food to arrive only for our first dish to be served with meat and only realising after taking a bite as it wasn’t obvious. No genuine apology or real acknowledgment especially having been vegetarian for over 14 years this was really disgusting and a wholly unpleasant experience. Not only this but the extremely slow service and staff more concerned with changing the lights on tables when they ran out of battery rather than serving food.

We really were looking forward to trying Pluto because we heard it’s the same chef who run Carbon, one of our favorite Paris restaurants of all times. And the food didn’t disappoint but the service needs some serious improvements. It was a bit of a disappointment unfortunately.
