"What’s old is new again, especially in boutique hotels. Miami Beach, more than many American cities, has some fertile history to work with, thanks to its strong Art Deco visual identity. A decade or two ago, the proprietors of a place like the Plymouth Hotel might have filled it up with surreal futuristic whimsy. Today, however, designer Fernando Santangelo, best known for his equally thorough renovations of the Raleigh and L.A.’s Chateau Marmont, turns to vintage furniture and Restoration Hardware." - Mark Fedeli

Our first visit to Miami and Plymouth was in a great location to the beach and restaurants. The staff were very friendly, our flight arrived very early in comparison to check in and the reception staff were very accommodating for us to check in earlier than 4pm. Although the room size was rather small, the shower pressure was fantastic. Room service was excellent. I believe the pool area closed too early it would be nice to relax and unwind if it stayed open to at least 9pm. The bar staff inside and outside the Plymouth were lovely and had great customer service. All in all it was a great stay at Plymouth.

Google
Great location, rooms are nice. Nothing is free here so bring a loaded bank card. No balcony The pool is beautiful, with a great pool bar. The barman Walter is the best! He is great at mixing drinks, always happy and smiling definitely made us feel welcome. Thank you!!

The best thing about our stay at the Plymouth Hotel was how amazing Iqiann at the front desk was and the friendliness of the valet staff. Iqiann was so helpful. She really made our stay better. My husband and I stayed for a week and were disappointed in the hotel. It came highly recommended by a local friend who had stayed here a few years ago. However, it was definitely not a four star experience for us. During our week here, the pool (which is the main attraction of this hotel) was closed for events 3 out of 7 days! We were not told of this prior to our stay, and we definitely did not book a discounted room. All we received was a last minute apology. Also, the toilet ran entire time and the closet space was non-existent, with no luggage rack. However, the pool being unavailable was the main issue. This was ridiculous for the top dollar price we paid, and it was not courteous to not tell guests this prior to their stay. Would not return.

My partner and I recently stayed here and we had the most magical stay! The pool is absolutely adorable! It is so pink, the pool is warm and their is a bar by the pool where the bartender makes great drinks! For lunch we had Blue Ribbon sushi which is the restaurant in the hotel -- it's also a great dinner spot! We had the perfect stay and an incredible day chilling by the pool! Highly recommend this hotel. To top it off, the rooms are a great value! Very affordable and in a prime location just walking distance to the Setai and Joe and the Juice!

Jefferson was great and very friendly and helpful. He was quick with setting up our umbrella. He provided great insight on Miami Beach. Will definitely go back and rent beach gear with his company. Great job and thank you for your amazing service. You are awesome!

Google
The Plymouth is by far my favorite place to stay on South Beach. I love the hotels boutique and retro feel. Originally built in the 1940’s and you can tell they have kept that same charm. Drinks are incredible at the pool and they have an amazing sushi restaurant inside. Loved having the pool view from our room and being just a skip and step from the beach! Will be returning 😍

Google
BEWARE your car will get towed!!!! I wish I could give this hotel a higher rating. The front desk was very welcoming and the hotel itself is charming. The location is okay because it is only a couple of blocks from the beach. As far as food and cafes, there is not much around. The biggest disappointment was the fact that our car got towed. Upon arrival, the valet took our bags and let us check in without taking our car. They made no mention whatsoever that we could not leave our car there and didn't even ask if we were going to valet. As a result the car got towed and we had to pay $289. We witnessed this happen to other guests as well. Which leads us to believe they have some sort of scam in place. There was never any attempt to find out who the owner of the car was. They watched as the car was towed. If you do end up going here make SURE they valet your car because they won't even attempt to. I have NEVER experienced this before. Very misleading and dishonest.

It's a chic hotel, quiet and well appointed. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. |The pool areas was nicely furnished and had a bar close by. The rooms were furnished with style and had quality linens and towels. The bar in the lobby was cozy and had a nice happy hour.|I highly recommend this boutique hotel.

Yelp
This is my fourth time staying at the Plymouth Hotel, and it's truly a small gem in South Beach. I went for my birthday this time, and it was an amazing experience. Mel, the manager, was extremely nice and always accommodating. He consistently helped me through email and phone whenever I needed anything. He even gave me a free bottle, wrote me a card for my birthday, and was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. The front desk staff is always nice and deserves a raise! The pool is great, though I wish it was a little bit cleaner. The happy hour is very affordable with good drinks, and the Blue Ribbon happy hour is excellent as well. We enjoyed hopping into the pool after happy hour. The hotel provides free chairs and towels for the beach, and they have a driver if you need to go to the beach but can't walk too much. It's always a pleasure staying here, and I especially want to thank Mel for his amazing service. Thank you, Mel!

Yelp
I stayed at The Plymouth from 29 April until 2 May 2024. I first read about this hotel on Going.com. I read more on the hotel website and the Miami Design Preservation league website about the history of the hotel and its renovations over the years. mdpl.org The hotel is a gorgeous art deco gem! The restoration is sublime. I loved staying there and definitely want to return. The staff are quick to inquire about possible needs or issues, fast in offering assistance and remedying any concerns. The entire hotel made me feel as though I had stepped into a Wes Anderson movie and time traveled back to the 40s! The front patio has marble topped tables, banquette seating, rattan club chairs, and coral colored cushions to match the fringed umbrellas. It is the perfect spot to sit and sip a cold drink while people watching. The lush plantings are meticulously cared for. Across the street, in the trees of Collins Park, wild parrots call to one another! The lobby is a work of art! In fact, I read how two murals by artist Ramon Chatov were uncovered and restored during one restoration The Plymouth received. One of my favorite things about the lobby is the old phone booth! It is so cool they kept it! The pool area is a wonderful experience, dare I say a destination! Its 1940s Art Moderne design transports me to Old Miami, and with the music playing songs in Spanish I even feel like I might be in Cuba! The harlequin tiles, brown and sun kissed orange color scheme of the chaise loungers, fringed umbrellas, and cushions is perfect! The designers have used opulently lush plantings to both create a tropical oasis and divide the space into many smaller spaces. The pool bar has a patio with banquette seating, wooden tables, and rattan backed low chairs for relaxing on. At night the strings of Edison light bulbs and wicker hanging lights create a sexy glow perfect for happy hour or evening dining. There are cabanas to reserve, resplendent with draperies offering both shade and privacy. The pool is so clean and clear! The water was refreshing without being chilly. They offer guests soft Turkish towels and complimentary sunblock along with after sun skincare lotion. I love how many different humans came to enjoy the wonderful space! Some of us were enjoying the shade, others lying in the full sun. Children played, couples leaned into one another for an underwater kiss, and some very chic women with a great deal of life experience napped on their lounger in fabulous bathing suits. The Plymouth's queen room is the room I stayed in. My view was a tiled rooftop and lush tree; this was more than I expected for a basic room. The bed had a pillow topper on it, making it too soft for my liking. The decor is luxe and in keeping with the feel of the rest of the property. The built in armoire with coral fabric gathered in the glass window panes of the doors felt very old Hollywood to me. The shiny stainless steel fixtures, subway tile shower surround, and hexagonal black and white shower floor tiles also felt tres chic! This room would easily accommodate two adults. The floor is faux-bois ceramic tile, making it a smidge chilly for me. The air conditioning in my room worked very well. I did not eat at the Blue Ribbon sushi bar and grill, nor did I have drinks at any of the bars. I walked to the beach, a mere two blocks-ish away. The ocean is stunning! I did not care for the commercialization of the strand by each hotel in the area setting up a booth to provide guests with beach amenities. The Plymouth provides towels and loungers. Umbrellas cost extra. It spoiled the pristine sand&sea views with row after row of lounge chairs waiting for guests. The Plymouth is not alone in this practice. I certainly appreciate not having to rent a chaise or towel. I wish the umbrellas were part of the amenities. I wish the hotels stored their beach amenities somewhere other than right on the beach. Storage is probably tight. I don't know where they would store all those lounge chairs. Still.... I prefer the unspoiled sands of Sanibel Island, for example. This will not keep me from dreaming of my next visit to this gem of a luxury hotel! Go stay at The Plymouth.

Yelp
Unfortunately, we were here for one night on a rainy February day. However, the hotel is beautiful. We had a two bedroom two bath suite. We had the cutest soaking tub in the cutest bathroom. It is quite art deco. We had an amazing balcony. So much larger than a balcony anywhere else we stayed. There was a couch 2 chairs, aand 2 chaise lounger, as well as an outdoor umbrella. There were not complaints about the room! There were no ice machines, so it had to come from housekeeping. But they were pretty prompt about bringing it up.

Yelp
Incredibly small rooms, no where to put your suitcase, dirty sheets, old towels, the AC did not work in my room and it was summer in Miami, and horrible service. I was told I could adjust my 4 night stay to 2 nights and be refunded through Expedia so I did. Then after when I contacted Expedia who reached out for them first approvals they refused a refund. I spoke to a manager since three times and was told I can get a credit instead. They transfer me, send me to this email, then go that email. They stopped replying and never provided the credit. This hotel is a mess. I go to south beach regularly for work and have never had an issue with any of the hotels I stay out until Plymouth.

Mary M.

Yelp
We checked in for 2 nights, upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff, holding doors for us, handling our luggage. Check in process was smooth, we got our keys quickly. The boutique hotel was well designed, lots of unique touches. Retro touches like a phone room. The lobby was decorated for the holidays which gave it a warm touch. The room itself was located in at the other building. It was clean, not much privacy when it comes to bathroom door. You can hear all sounds from inside. The pool in the courtyard was ver nice, it was surrounded by a bar, restaurant. At night it was lit up with twinkle lights. Parking: $40/day (valet - in and out service - phone app to request). Self parking is around that amount but if no in and out privilege. You pay each time.

Iliana R.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 days. Although our flight landed hours before check in time, the staff allowed us to store our bags and enjoy the amenities. The pool and outdoor bar were by far our favorite part. Big shout out to Walter the bartender, he was so kind and friendly - we loved his energy. He definitely deserves the kudos for keeping the people happy

Heather A.

Yelp
It's 80 degrees in my room and they won't do anything about it. We called twice and still won't do anything about it

James K.

Yelp
The location of this hotel is excellent, as it's roughy three blocks away from the beach and nearby a bunch of restaurants too. The valet & hotel staff were also very friendly and pleasant to interact with, and they had a nice bar and restaurant inside the hotel, along with a cool pool. All good amenities. As for the hotel room, the shower was great with a larger shower head positioned directly above where you stand, which was nice. They also have a cart for snacks/alcohol for sale inside the room, and while some people probably would like this we didn't only because the room was smaller and the cart took up space. There was also an issue with our thermostat light during our stay, which was another downside. Overall though we would stay here again, in large part due to the location being right by the beach, with a friendly staff, at a reasonable price.

Amanda S.

Yelp
The staff were amazing, super friendly and helpful. The bartender made great drinks. Beds were comfortable and location was convenient ( walk to beach, botanical garden ) my only real complaint is the upholstery in the room was really dirty. There were two of these benches at the foot of our beds, both were in dire need of a good cleaning. Same with the cushions on the loungers by the pool. They need to be replaced or at the very least given a good cleaning.

Johanna M.

Yelp
Hotel is super adorable but the best part was Alejandro the bartender who i met a month ago at the bar--genuine energy, such a great soul and fun vibe--they don't come like him often, it's not an easy job but he does it with ease and such positive energy-they are lucky to have him. Thank you Alejandro--te adoramos! Johanna y Skylah

Yelp
I arrived to Miami solo for a two week trip and was denied entry to my rental so I walked into the nearest hotel in tears. It happened to be The Plymouth and I am so glad it was. The staff here went above and beyond even before I decided to stay for the night. They offered me something to drink and a place to sit and figure things out. I had dinner at the bar (also exceptional service) and a comfortable nights sleep. The next day I was able to sit and enjoy the beautiful pool before my long term accommodations were ready. They didn't have to bring me in and take care of me the way they did but I will forever be thankful that they did. It made all the difference for me in that moment. Thank you!!!

Yelp
the worst part is after I go back home I still got bites when to see doctor, doctor said it's flea. My home is new apartment it just built plus I just move in two months, and I never got bite. every thing is new bed and everything. So doctors said it came back with me from the hotel, flea are very small can hide in clothes bags, luggage. It's sucks I have to do a bug bomb, tons of laundry and house cleaning. Nightmares.

Yelp
This was the best hotel experience I have ever had...and I've had many of them. We got into town at 7:00am the day of our stay and headed to the hotel to drop off our bags until check in. They said our room wasn't ready yet, however, a suite was, so they gave us the upgrade at no charge and let us check in at that moment. What hotel does that...they did for us. The room was great, amazing bed and sheets and was impeccably cleaned. We spent a day and night on the town and didn't get to use the pool or the bar, but everyone there seemed to be having a good time as well as it being very tastefully decorated. The next morning, being somewhat hungover from the previous day's shenanigans we were greeted by the bellman with ginger and some other stuff shot to rejuvenate the day, and boy did it help. We checked out, went on our cruise, and got back, again at 8:00 or so. Flight not leaving until 7 that night we again needed a place to store our bags until the evening. They gladly accommodated us with this at no charges as well. The place has a great culture and everyone I met was more than happy to help. The next time we stay in Miami it will definitely be at the Plymouth Hotel.

Yelp
Boutique Hotel. You should know going in to expect some major differences between a boutique hotel and a chain hotel. Which we did. The good: Wonderful lobby. Perfectly kept, relaxing and just great to see. Awesome in hotel bar. Good drinks, reasonable prices. Quirky, but fun rooms, new furniture. Nearly ideal location. Almost on the strip and 4 minutes walking to the beach. The not so good. No chairs in the room. Not even one. Hallways are pitch dark to the point of whoa. Hey, the 1980's psuedo porn posters on the walls, it's not quirky, it's just old The why-your-pretty-awesome-place-is-getting-3-stars: First, resort fee. A pool, everyone has one. Beach chairs and towels aren't all that (and those are handled by third party.... not exactly the most service oriented third party either). And.. uhh.. yeah. Oh. Coffee. Not much 'amenities' for your resort fee folks. Either raise the entire price, or just don't charge, because it's not bang for the buck. Not value added. Second. The @#$@#$ AC. First, the AC was set at 80. We don't need 70 in the tropics, but 80 wasn't it. Once we mentioned it, we were told "Oh you can change it". We mention that it says under central control. "No, you CAN change it". No, no you can't. In the 30 second debate, they finally write it down. When we came back, the AC was on.. .at 68 degrees. Our check out day, poof, back to 80. Third: Staff shouldn't debate with the customer. The AC was one thing. Our bags was another. "we'll take them up". We'd rather take them ourselves. "No, we take them up". No, we'd rather do it ourselves. We wait 15 minutes for the bags (which, honestly they tucked away for us for free when we arrived very early), and then "I'll take them up".. again. I'm not saying the customer is always right (cause we're not), but, in some cases, just open your ears an listen. All in all a fun place. Great location. Cool interior. Better value by far than some of the others we looked up. And it makes the visit more fun, perhaps even authentic. But, some tweeks are in order to break out.

Yelp
South beach Miami hotel staple... Not too steep ( decent pricing ). has poolside bar service and good happy hour. The hotel has clean rooms and comfortable beds. The service is also very good and they have very friendly personnel all over the hotel and restaurants. They do have a service charge per da, like most hotels now, but you get what you pay for! Definitely recommend for a weekend get away, or if you come to Miami on vacation. ( great location, close to Beach, shops and dining.

Melaminah H.

Yelp
Didn't love it. The ladies at the front desk were very good - great customer service. Beyond that, I don't have anything nice to say. We were here the only couple of days Miami has been cold and rainy in like 30 years. Unfortunately, there is no heat in the room so we were sitting in our jackets to keep warm. The shower sucked - water pressure leaves something to be desired and the water never got hotter than lukewarm. It's unfortunate because the shower itself is a beautiful, rain shower faucet head, which couldn't be fully enjoyed. Speaking of the bathroom, the toilet paper holder couldn't be in a worse place. It's off to the side and slightly behind you, and because the wall is so close to the toilet, it's hard to get to. Had they moved it to the other side, it would have made much more sense. The second day we were here, the elevator went out. We were forced to take the emergency (outdoor) staircase because the inside one didn't go up to our fourth floor room. This place is kind of a restaurant that also happens to be a hotel. The lobby is always PACKED with people trying to go to the restaurant. It doesn't help that the restaurant reception is immediately next to the hotel reception, so you end up walking into a wall of people the moment you walk through the hotel front door. They offer happy hour sushi rolls that are plain, basic and just ok. I guess for $8, they are ok. Just temper your expectations if you order them. I guess the only other good thing is the friendly housekeeping staff. There's also an on-site gym with a nice variety of dumbbells and a couple of versatile machines. One final upside is that it's close (walking distance) to several restaurants, bars, and shops.

Alison R.

Yelp
we had the best experience at The Plymouth. The staff was incredibly accommodating, friendly, helpful, and all around great. We loved the Sushi restaurant, the pool bar and overall quaint amenities. Mel, the manager was awesome!! Highly recommend!!!

Matthew D.

Yelp
Buyer beware: we chose The Plymouth over a beachfront hotel for the poolside Miami experience. On the first day of our vacation, we head down to the pool and are greeted by signage saying the pool is closed for a "private event." The "event" is a commercial photo shoot, bought and paid for by some studio. We were not informed as guests at the time of booking or even at any point the day before. Guests cannot even walk through this main route to the desk from their rooms with all their bags during this shooting. The Plymouth is double dipping at the expense of paying guests and the attitude at the desk is that the hotel won't hesitate to do it again. We won't return and don't encourage newcomers.

Sola H.

Yelp
Such a move surprise, they greeted me with an offer for a glass of wine and I was immediately in love. The Blue Fin Sushi restaurant onsite and lounge/bar by the pool... traveled for work but didn't want to leave. Amazing front desk kindness and attention. Will return soon

Christina J.

Yelp
Stayed here for 4 days with my BFF for a girls trip. We booked the 2 queen bed, balcony room. Pros: - Location is great. super close without being RIGHT on Collins. walking distance to a lot of stores, food and shopping. - cute decor and friendly staff - Triton (bartender) at the hotel bar was super nice and fun. - 2 giant full length mirrors in the room -beach access! free chairs and towels. (umbrellas are $20) Cons: - the room was soooo underwhelming. what balcony? you cannot stand on it lmao -the sink was small, no counter room so getting ready is messy. - The AC is controlled by the front desk. you have to call to adjust the temp. (in miami tho? it's hot af) - the bathroom door is not very private. You can hear everything in the room with the door shut. - no robes? Usually i wouldn't care but a "resort" usually has robes. -lights not working, outlet hanging out the wall etc. just not well maintained. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again. Wasn't the worst but I've been to Miami quite a few times and this resort isn't memorable. Just not impressed (especially with an additional $45 resort fee per day). If you are looking for a better experience, try the Confidante!

Ben S.

Yelp
We'll start with the cons because they are plentiful. I would never stay here again. Front desk staff that were unapologetic and stiff - no empathy - no emotion. The bell/doorman however was friendly and helpful and welcomed me back when he saw me coming in the main door during my stay. A room that was 84 degrees - per the room thermostat that also indicated that the temperature was centrally controlled and there was nothing I could do about being hot. This was caused by the sun, but even at night the room only went down to 74. A room with no chair. Not even a desk chair. Not even an ornamental stool. Literally no where to sit but the bed or the toilet. In their defense there was not really any room for a chair. The door to the room was 18 inches from the side of the bed and in line with the foot of the bed. If you have any work whatsoever to do during your stay you won't be able to do it here. I also never got a call that my room was ready. I was early and they said they'd call when it was ready so I went and did a few things then sat in the lobby and no one called me. Finally when I saw other guests being sent upstairs I went back to the check in desk and oh yes my room was ready. Apparently their computer system didn't save any of my info so they had to swipe my credit card again putting a 2nd, $150 hold on the card. They also had you sign and initial this document 4 different places about various hotel policies which isn't a very welcoming move. There was a Nespresso coffee machine in the room...with an empty water tank....a water tank too tall to fit in the bathroom sink which was the only place to fill it up. Unless they expected me to fill it up in the shower? Or perhaps use the $9 bottle of Fuji water to make my espresso... Pros: The bed was comfy, but I still didn't sleep well because I was hot. There was a beautiful wall of windows overlooking the courtyard pool. While aesthetically nice this had to have contributed to my 84 degree room. There is a free breakfast at a restaurant down the street though I can't comment on the quality as I had to fly out before it opened at 8am. The pool area is intimate in size and the chair loungers were comfy. For a non-beach front hotel they did arrange to have chairs and towels down at 21st St Beach which was nice as well. There is a also a Citi Bike share station a block away which is nice.

Jake W.

Yelp
Hidden fees. No parking. Dirty rooms. $9.00 water in the room. Old gross rooms. Filthy grounds. Rude staff. We are staying here as I write this and looking for another hotel. December 26-29th. Restaurant on premisses will not charge to the room. Not a single good experience. DO NOT COME HERE. This place is terrible.

Luisa L.

Yelp
A group of friends and I planned a Miami trip months in advance with another hotel but when we arrived our original hotel failed to notify us about their ac going out in the middle of summer. They had booked our rooms at different hotels (a total of 3) and they were a disaster!!! It wasn't until we complained to the general manager that they were able to find us all a new hotel with rooms for all of us. We were fortunate to get placed at the Plymouth and we were so pleased! Mel and his staff were amazing to us and even came to our horrendous hotel to pick up all our belongings and take us to their beautiful hotel. It's because of them (Mel and his staff) that we were finally able to enjoy our trip to Miami. Overall the hotel was clean, accommodating, and beautiful. I totally recommend!!!

Melanie L.

Yelp
Stay here!! Normally I prefer chain hotels because they tend be cleaner and more of a safe bet but I would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting! It was so clean and really fun. We arrived Friday night and I was nervous that it may have too much of a party vibe or be too loud for my liking due to how many non guests we're enjoying the bar and restaurant. However they closed down at 11:30pm and it was never a problem! Our first morning there they had free juice shots in the lobby for guests. They also offer weekend yoga classes to start your day. The on site restaurant was really good and the happy hour at the bar was great for pregaming before going out or drinking by the pool. I also loved that they had doormen. It made me feel safe and they were very helpful with luggage and parking recommendations. Don't park at the garages. They are overpriced and there is parking available on the street right in front of the hotel. The rooms were a little on the small end but I never felt like I didn't have enough space. Overall a really great hotel and very cheap while still being elegant and feeling upscale.

Rey R.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I didn't look at the 3 1/2 star rating on this hotel before I booked it. I was traveling with a larger group and trusted them. Boy was that a mistake! I took a "shower" a trickle of lukewarm water and didn't have air-conditioning for one night during a heat advisory in Miami. We reached out to the front desk for help and they sent someone who drained a bucket of water from the air conditioning unit and left. Woke up in the morning sweating, and not so clean. If you know what I mean, went downstairs to find that he "manager" would not be until 1 PM and there was no one to talk to but that she would relay the message. Guess what? That sure didn't happen. When I spoke to Isabel, the manager, at 2 PM she said there was nothing to do to help me because I prepaid for the hotel in March. You think that might be something they like... But you could be wrong. She said there was no way to give me any kind of credit or voucher for our troubles. Not only am I obviously never coming back, but I'm letting everybody know that you really need to pay attention to ratings before you book your hotel.

Stevie S.

Yelp
I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet stay with no hassles or problems. Close to the beach, close to the amenities, close to bus stops that take you into downtown Miami. Clean, friendly staff, nice ambient and chilled out vibe. My only small complaint is the lack of visibility in the corridors but in speaking as a visually impaired individual and this will probably not be a problem for most others and I would not penalise on this issue. It has been a great experience here and although I can't comment on most of the amenities this hotel has to offer, I can only say that for what we wanted, it ticked all the boxes.

Bernie L.

Yelp
Great location. Terrible staff. And liars. What a joke this place is. Hit me for 183$ charge upon check out after locking up $600 on my card after fully paying up front. Not even the Faena takes a daily deposit. Also staff is rude and it's loud till 12 am.

Carley M.

Yelp
I was highly disappointed. Nice sized room for south beach, expensive for what you get. Service sucks at the front desk. We called and went down multiple times for things like not having hot water and not having an entire curtain where the sun comes in first thing in the morning. Room 418. They kept saying they would send the engineer and never did. No place to sit other than the chair at the tv stand - not conducive to eating a meal and watching tv for more than 1. They didnt replace the soap, shampoo, or conditioner until the last day of our stay. And to top it off, because the room wouldnt go lower than 78 because the sun shines in all day, we had to open the hall door to get the flow of air and a cleaning lady walked in accused us of smoking weed in the room. I was like lady if we were smoking an illegal substance we sure wouldnt be doing it with the door wide open and in front of the cameras inside after signing a smoke free contract at check in. They didnt even clean the floor from someone before us even after i complained. This celebration ribbon was here our entire stay and wasnt ours. For what we paid for the 5 day stay, i am so disappointed and embarrassed by how we were treated, on top of clearly not cleaning during covid times, i will never be back. Update i have been trying for 2 days to work with alex the manager who says she will call me back later or i get a other associate who leaves a message or another who sees my message but the manager is not in. This is so frustrating. I have requested proof of smoking, an incident report and photos. Vacation at a luxury hotel should be so much easier

Yelp
Got here around noon, check in is at 4pm. Watched a lot of people get rooms early. However, I was told that my room type was being cleaned, therefore, it would be a wait. Ultimately, they upgraded the room which I felt if this was a consideration, consider it earlier instead of at 4pm. Check in at 4pm, check out at 11am. Beach/pool close at 5/6pm, opening at 10am. Not much time to use the amenities if you are there for one night. Missing desk chair in the room. Desk lamp broken. Brought this to staff attention, they said maintenance would come and look, that's all they did... look. This was crucial as i take work meetings and would have appreciated a place to do so in my room. Windows open, but don't close... maintenance said that's just how it is, with no remedy. PROS: The beach staff were sweet, I appreciated their level of service. $5 sodas and waters, so pack your own. Hotel happy hour was lovely, drinks and food under $10! The concierge at the front door made sure they opened doors for guests as well as making guest feel welcomed with every entrance.

Yelp
I specifically want to thank Misha and the night staff that worked on 02/05/2022. My friends and I had a very difficult time checking into the hotel, so Misha was working hard to communicate with our company to get settled in. The staff took our luggage in on a cart while we were waiting and offered us water while we were figuring out the mess we were in. Once we checked in, Misha knew the hard time we had and directed us to the bar around the corner. It was raining and the she lended us umbrellas to use. The next morning we had to check out and the staff took our luggage in while we enjoyed the hotel's amenities. My room was spacious and my bedding super comfortable. Kindness goes a long way when you've had a long day. I'm super pleased with the professionalism of all the staff that helped us and would recommend my friends to stay here.

Yelp
Second time staying here (Bachelorette party) and now with my best friend. The staff is always amazing. They gave us recommendations for things to do on NYE and even arranged a car service for us. Thank you to Isabelle, Egian, and the gentleman who works the night shift(didn't get his name, tall good looking guy with glasses) Even the guy at the pool was super helpful. A few things I would change is charging for the coffee in the room. Also, housekeeping services are inconsistent. Other than that it has been a great experience. We will be back.

Yelp
Think twice before booking here. I booked it through Hotel Tonight and it seemed like it had great reviews with a good price. Little did we know it was going to be a nightmare. They took us to our room that wasn't even part of the Plymouth. It was a building that is called "Ansonia" which seemed odd to us that it wasn't even the main hotel? Anyway we get to our room and it looked nothing like what was shown on Hotel Tonight. It had a terrible odor and honestly resembled a jail cell. We went to open what we thought was a window actually ended up being an opening to the trash unit. (I have videos and photos). We were appalled. We spent 1800 for a luxe stay and this was what we got. Of course we requested a room change which they provided. The room we stayed in was small. It couldn't fit two people comfortably. The sink was diagonal to the bed and there wasn't a closet to store your luggage. lastly, it wasn't cleaned. I found bugs in the cabinet with the brochure. We decided to make the best of it but of course our mattress was broken. Yes, broken. We called to have it fixed and they sent someone to inspect the bed and he confirmed that the mattress was indeed broken. We made several calls and follow up calls with both the hotel and Hotel Tonight to have it fixed and they said they would but they never did. Our entire stay we slept on a broken mattress. My boyfriend and I were very exhausted by the entire experience. The customer service at this hotel is really awful. I contacted Hotel Tonight and reiterated a poor experience that i had and all the hotel gave us 2 out of the 4 service fees they collect per night. Yes on top of the full 1800 we spent, they charge you additional fees per night. So 90 dollars we got back. Make note... the hotel it isn't directly on the beach, you have to walk a few blocks to get onto the beach. They have their own section but you have to pay 15 dollars for a umbrella, the towels are half the size of you and there isn't beach service for food. A couple ahead of us bought four beach chairs to get two extra towels (keep in mind the pricing goes up) and they were denied their towels. Apparently some outrageous restriction they have. All in all don't commit on hotel tonight because you don't get to cancel or change your hotel and they dont give you any money back. My boyfriend and I will not be staying here again.

Yelp
What a shame .The restaurant and bar were great. The building was iconic 1939 deco I believe. It was decorated somewhat in the genre but unfortunately on a tight budget. The pool was the worst. Shabby umbrellas ripping and faded. Old chair pads and it just didn't seem clean . I never went in. The elevator kept breaking and we had to take outside stairs (service stairs) several times to the fourth floor. The valet service for our car did not speak English well enough for us to understand that it was an outside business not part of the hotel .confusing.

Yelp
Quaint hotel and while rooms are small they are nicely furnished. It is a shame that the front desk staff is so rude and abrasive and when there are issues they are dismissive. I do have to give kudos to bell staff and this is why I gave them a two as they are awesome. While the rooms are nice but small the halls are dark and disgusting and need some TLC. Cushions on outdoor furniture needs some TLC. I am upset over overcharges on two trips that involve the mini bar which we did not use or consume. The last time was for an expensive bottle of liquor and neither my husband or I drink due to health issues. They dismissed me again and said manager will call but have a feeling I will not hear from them. Also the elevator broke hitting me in the arm as we exited causing extensive bruising. Beware and check your credit cards after checking out. So disappointing as this has the potential to be great. Also they do not have onsite parking. Parking is available a couple of blocks away and is expensive. Additionally you are charged a daily resort fee. You do receive chairs at beach. Beach is within walking distance

Yelp
Was looking forward to staying at this hotel, but unfortunately, I got sick. This hotel has a no cancellation policy. They won't even offer you a credit. If you try to call guest services to cancel no one picks up and you have to leave a voicemail and they never call you back. If you are sick, you shouldn't chick into a public hotel and share public spaces with people. We all have a duty not to spread illness. Plymouth hotel should accommodate guests by giving you at lease a credit for a future hotel stay. There are many strains of flu and illnesses right now. The CDC recommends staying home for 24 hours if you have a fever or illness, but this hotel recommends you check in.

Yelp
Room and location were nice, I would stay here again. Do note, however that there are two buildings in this hotel, one of which is barely attached to the main one, and hallways are not nearly as nice. We were relegated to the second building, or as we called it "the poor people building", which felt very removed from the fancy main building. In fact, the person we checked in with, didn't tell us any information about the location of our room, and after wandering around lost with all of our luggage for a while, another staff member was able to take us to the right entrance. Still, it was a nice room and very quiet, so that wasn't too much of a trouble for us. The other thing I would note is that the hotel recommends a couple of parking garage options. The primary lot they recommend is twice as expensive as the others, but was noted to be a better choice. We parked in the expensive lot the first day which was very dirty and unsafe feeling, and then moved to the much nicer, and significantly cheaper lot the second day. Unless you are going to be taking your car out of the garage multiple times per day, I'd strongly recommending walking the extra 0.1 mile (if that) and going to the $20 lot instead.

Yelp
They call themselves a "luxury boutique hotel". We paid $350 per night for a tiny room with extremely poor lighting, no privacy due to slatted door to the toilet and shower. There was one mirror poorly lit so you can't do make up. Windows are old and thin so you can enjoy the sounds of a Miami Beach bus stop all night. The pool was pretty, the bar was nice. The service was poor. Ants in our room. I reported the ants and they did nothing. They tried to con us into using their 2 blocks away shady garage surely owned by a friend for $40/night! We parked down the block In a safe well lit automated lot and paid $35 for two nights. Tried to upload a video of the ants but didn't take. They charged us a service fee of $40 per day. Not sure why....? Maybe because we asked for an extra towel. Definitely do not recommend this hotel.

Yelp
This place has really gone downhill. I've been here a few times and our last visit was bad. AC was out in both rooms we had and it was really lacking cleanliness

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
This hotel will not offer you a credit or refund if you are sick or have Covid! The hotel staff is not nice or sympathetic. Unfortunately things happen and people get sick. There's a pandemic going on. If people choose not to check into the hotel because they are sick they should be offered at least a credit or refund. Also, an at home Covid test should be sufficient. Why should someone leave their house sick and go to a lab to have a professional Covid test just to prove to the hotel that they are sick! An at home test should be sufficient. People don't want to check into a hotel when they have Covid and infect others guests! I would never stay here! Worst costumer service!!! To many other boutique hotels to choose from in the same area. Don't take a chance staying here. They almost encourage guests to check in when they are sick! If you call before your reservation and explain that you're sick, they tell you that it's nonrefundable, and no credits given!!!

Yelp
isabelle the manager is the worst customer service person i have ever interacted with. she was incredibly rude to my mom and me who paid to stay here for the week. our room's AC stopped working and she rolled her eyes at us and then the water pressure was awful. DO NOT STAY HERE. lol... when i said i was gonna give her a 1-star review on yelp she threatened to call the police what a joke. then she called me a stupid white girl. izabel is racist and a horrible manager and should not be working in this job... very uncomfortable and very rude staff

Yelp
This hotel has a really cute aesthetic, but for how expensive it is, (paid $800/night) I do not think it is worth it. It is a very dirty and run down hotel. Rooms are a little tight and there's not much for room service choices. My main problem was that we had palmetto bugs crawling all over our room, and when we notified the front desk, they basically told us to kick rocks. No cleaning service was offered, no special gift to ease our disgust, all because they said it was because we booked at the non-refundable rate. I understand this is humid, South florida and that bugs exist, however for how much we paid per night I don't think we should have them, let alone deserve such terrible service and treatment. Will not be back and plan to warn anyone going to Miami not to stay here.

Crystal R.

Yelp
Looking for a space to rest your head... staffs extremely hospitable Thank you "Carley" Thank you to all the staff.... Y'all made me feel safe and at home on my mini vaca

Nunya B.

Yelp
Hotel has a decent bar, but there a number of annoying things about the property's management. Poor customer service, and the hotel applies an automatic tip (not a service fee, a tip!) on the minibar purchases. Pretty shortsighted to piss off customers in this manner. I wouldn't stay here again.

Renada P.

Yelp
My rating is simply for the bartender in the lobby area. Alejandro! You were MAGNIFICENT! The service and attentiveness to your customers is one to be admired. Keep this guy on your payroll. He deserves a raise and should be in charge of your entire bar area. Alejandro, thank you for making our birthday bash a true riot. We had so much fun at your bar in the hotel lobby. I would return if only you are there. You know what it means to provide a great experience! You are top notch!!! Thank you so much for making our trip to Miami the greatest. Alejandro, you are the Plymouth Hotel and why they are successful.

Yelp
If you're looking to relax in South Beach, especially if you never want to leave your hotel, The Plymouth is an outstanding choice. The Rooms. Comfortable and stylish, with an excellent shower (pressure could be a bit better though), plenty of outlets (although two bedside tables would be better than one), and just about everything you'd want product-wise. I'd recommend springing for the pool view king; it isn't too much more than the standard room, and you're already taking out a second mortgage to pay for a vacation in South Beach, right? Is that just me? The Staff. The porter who greeted us wasn't offended that I wanted to carry in my own bag, and promptly offered and brought me a glass of rosé on the house. A perfect welcome to Miami Beach. The ladies at the front desk took one look at me and gave us a handicapped room, and gave my wife a pitying look. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but basically everyone that works at the hotel was nothing but nice throughout our stay. It's odd that they try and clean your rooms every evening, right when you're showering after the beach to go out, but that's not too inconvenient and I'm almost sure it wasn't because they were trying to see me naked. The Pool. Not always a factor when it comes to hotels, but definitely a factor in Miami. This pool is gorgeous enough that there was a literal photo shoot happening while we lounged, complete with stylists, many costume changes, and one staff member whose job it became to keep me out of photos. The Downsides. Just so you don't think I work for the Plymouth, it's not perfect. This joint isn't cheap, which makes the mandatory "resort fee" a little galling. Especially so because while it includes two beach chairs and towels, it doesn't include an umbrella. What are we, peasants? Also, no swim up bar? I have to walk a hundred feet or wait for the attendant to come around? This isn't the Middle Ages. The Amenities. That said, I appreciate that cold water and sunscreen always available at the pool. The roses delivered to our room with a weather forecast for the next day were nice I suppose, as was the guy that came and dropped off a hat...but again, I'd rather just have an umbrella without having to drop $15. The Location. You're on the north end of South Beach, a little away from the main drag of Ocean Road, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You're still a short walk from the beach or Lincoln Road, and it's quieter and feels more like a vacation than a party. It's a long hike to Joe's Stone Crab, but you could use a few extra steps. The Food. This is what puts them over the top. The food is legitimately awesome, even when you branch out from Blue Ribbon Sushi. The presentation, the flavors, the execution...it's all on point. Sitting by the pool, we had a fresh and perfect burrata and tomato salad, great tacos, a beautiful shrimp sandwich, and (heavy as fuck) oxtail and mushroom hash for breakfast. Tater tots should always be subbed in for other potatoes. The wings are more like fried chicken than wings (breaded), but I wasn't complaining while I was eating them. The menu is fairly expensive, but absolutely standard for Miami Beach, and better than what most of the restaurants are offering for similar prices. I'd stay here again.

Yelp
The Plymouth Hotel was a total 4 for me. The price I paid was in line with the value I received. I would recommend the hotel and also go back. I booked a 6-night stay on Black Friday in January for myself and 2 of my daughters who were visiting me in Miami from MA. Heads up, the booking was non-refundable, which was a bit if a drag. A very friendly staff may be the best things about The Plymouth. The front desk and door staff were especially welcoming and helpful. The Plymouth is an older hotel that is well renovated. You enjoy the art deco past with modern updated touches. This is a "boutique hotel" but not a snobby one. It offers a good location next to Bass Art Museum, 3 blocks from the beach and a few blocks from the convention center which is currently under construction. There was a fair amount of construction all around (other hotels/condos) which was not a disturbance and simply showed the area is up and coming. The hotel was quiet for SoBe. There are plenty of fees, 18% that are described up front. So just be prepared and forewarned, those fees are similar to other hotels in the area. The Plymouth has a very inviting pool that is heated which I thoroughly enjoyed. The pool offers a high amount of shade, which was fine for me, but sun worshippers might be disappointed. Wifi worked great in the room and at the pool. The rooms were better than decent, tastefully decorated, on par size-wise with most of SoBe ...and come with a killer bathroom. The bathrooms were large, well designed the best part of the room. All in all, I was very happy and give The Plymouth 2 thumbs up.

Yelp
Nice hotel near the beach. This place is conveniently located for easy access to the boardwalk. Superb restaurant, good service, and a really nice pool. Great choice for a beach getaway weekend.

Yelp
I don't often write reviews , let alone negative ones - but I do think people should be warned about the Plymouth. The property IS NOT a luxury property and there is NO PRIVATE BEACH. they share a beach service that is open to general public and with 16 other hotels - 3 blocks from ocean. Also the pool is minuscule, and entirely self service - zero service other than a bartender , who cannot take food orders , since that is outsourced by delivery . Basically same idea as Uber eats! The WIFi is woefully slow, so probably not even a good option for business travel. Finally expect to be woken up at 6:30am as maintenance crew began power washing the pool area. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING :(

Yelp
The room is small but spacious enough, service is good & bathroom is big. I really like the look. They use molton brown products & thats also very nice! We ate at the sushi place & they have $8 sushi from 5-7pm & half off drinks at happy hour at the same time. I would stay again but given there are so many hotels in Miami, i'd like to try other places. For first timer in Miami, great hotel to stay at!

Yelp
Considering the Plymouth? That was my predicament last week upon my first ever trip to Miami Beach. The main deciding factor for me was the price; relative to several other hotels I considered, the look of the rooms and the relatively still convenient location swung in the favor of booking here. Upon arrival, the first thing I saw was what looked like a dilapidated building across the street from the Plymouth (in actuality, I think it's an unfinished hotel in process of construction). The block had a somewhat depressing feel. The Plymouth hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, so if all you were going by were the photos from their website, you might at first be shocked by the contrast until you get inside. Service at check in was friendly and personable. Only valet parking is available and it's $42 per night. I asked the person checking me in if there are any other options and he offered that one could try street parking, which entails feeding the meter every three hours. However, in reality, I realized that, if you don't mind a short Uber ride or a 20 minute walk, you could park in a municipal garage, where the rate was $20 per 24 hours. You won't need your car while on Miami Beach anyway. The hallways are reminiscent of an NYC apartment building, dark and foreboding but I guess it reads as classy to some. The room itself is quite stylish (disco ball lamp is a nice touch), and I didn't find it to be small. The view of the pool area was beautiful and where the Plymouth really shines. The shower stall is spacious plus the huge shower head was a nice addition, albeit the water pressure wasn't amazing. Another thing that alluded to an NYC vibe for me was the small sink; there was little room to put your toiletries as you get ready. The room did smell strongly of something scented. So, if you have a smell sensitivity, you would be in absolute hell. I understand though that, due to the humid climate, the rooms can get musty and they're trying to make them smell inviting. On that note, I don't begrudge them how cold the room was when I arrived. On the second day of my stay, both key cards just stopped working and had to be replaced. The black coffee at their restaurant that we got in the morning came out to eleven bucks for two people, plus tip. Sigh. Bottom line: if you don't mind a 15-20 minute walk/Uber ride to many of the main attractions, it's not a bad deal, especially if you hack the parking situation and use the municipal garage.
