"The all-natural cider pressed at this Plymouth orchard is one of a kind. The location presses different combination of apples throughout the season, resulting in subtle differences in flavor depending on the batch. The unpasteurized cider is a bit pricer than other orchards around, but return customers swear by the tart, not-too-sweet flavor." - Eater Staff

It was enjoyable to visit, the location is great. Is located in Warren, but the road changes to a dirt road, then expect your vehicle to get dusty or muddy They have different kind off apples, Fiji, Gala, Crispy honey and maybe a few more of other variations. Donuts were good, not too sweet. They have another bakery products, not big variety, but enough to select different options. The Apple Cider was great and also they have it warm. Nice little animal farm with Mountain sheep’s, pigs, and goats. My family and I, really enjoy the visit.

Born and raised in Michigan, I can't believe I've never been to the Plymouth Orchard. The very large parking lot is lettered so you can find your vehicle. If it's rainy bring your boots, it will be a little muddy. 👢 There are many attractions for children outside including some small farm animals. 🐖 🐐 🦃 🐔 Plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy your time there. No touching or feeding, please. The wagon ride was perfect. A nice slow ride around the Orchard. You can see all the apple 🍎 trees, many birds are tweeting and I was lucky to see a family of deer 🦌 on my ride. There is also indoor seating and no worries. There are many spaces for everyone. Now, the good stuff. So many baked goods and jams, jellies, butter, and plenty of drinks. The apple cider and donuts 🍩 were amazing. Still warm to the touch and just melts in your mouth. 😋 I can't wait to back and try some homemade goodies.

Google
Great family spot! Plenty of free parking space. You can buy apple cider, fresh fruit, jam, baked goods, etc at the store. The little area with farm animals is fun. Our toddler loved it! She didn't want to leave. Overall a nice place to visit for kids and families.

Google
I enjoy this place, there is so much space to move around and is very kid friendly. I enjoyed the food prices! My most memorable food choice was the donuts of course but I enjoyed the cider slushy!! I also enjoyed the honey lollipop they offer and frosted Halloween cookie! Something that can improve is the tractor ride, its pretty slow and there aren’t much decorative options to look at. Otherwise, I enjoyed this place 5/5 stars just because the cider slush is so different and taste delicious for a great price!

Google
Beautiful cider mill, and they make all their products straight from the farmed apples. The donuts with cinnamon and sugar come straight out the oven and let me tell you i bought two donuts one for me amd one for my husband, sorry to say hubby's donut didn't survive the ride home 😁😔😬🤤🤫🤭

Patricia Cameron

Google
This is a family friendly place. Free parking, no admission. Good donuts and the apple cider slush is so good. The children can climb, run, and play. The hayride cost is very reasonable and the ride is relaxing.

Google
The best way I can describe our experience was ok. I really don’t like that you cannot go to the orchard or pumpkin patch without riding the trailer which for us was 20 extra dollars. Secondly, we had to wait probably about 30 mins for the trailer to arrive. With 4 children this was quite frustrating don’t make it obligatory if you have to wait for it. The orchard was pleasant to look at and it had decent attractions if it wasn’t for the long trailer wait.

This is a very nice cider mill. They offer fresh produce as well as wonderful baked goods. The cider and doughnuts are fresh and there is a wide variety of apples to take home. The animals and wagon ride will entertain the adults as well as the children.

Yelp
I've been coming here since I was a little kid (in the 80s) and whenever I am back in Michigan visiting family in the fall, I absolutely must stop at the Plymouth Orchard and Cider Mill with my kids. I appreciate that not much has changed in the years that have passed and they are still cranking out the most delicious cider and donuts around. The animals are always a big hit and my son was super excited to look at the hairy pigs. I miss the old days when there were cows and horses, and my only suggestion would be a sign on each other pens letting the visitors know what animals are inside the area. We knew they were pigs, but I'd never seen a hairy pig and it would have been a great learning opportunity for all of us to read about what kind of pigs they were and where they were from. There was a new play area that we had not visited before and my son enjoyed himself. Maybe making it even bigger would be fun, but not too big to take over the farm area. There were a LOT of kids in the play area and I'm surprised no one was hurt. There was a line out the door for the cider and donuts and no place to sit, but the line moved very quickly and we enjoyed shopping while in line. We will for sure be back in the fall when we are back in Michigan to see family and friends.

Yelp
Very cute cider mill that I got to visit in mid-September of this year when I was in town for a wedding. Super cute animals that you can feed, the cinnamon sugar donuts are everything and more! And a fun spot to spend a couple hours!

Lisa D.

Yelp
We love this cider mill! They have the best carmel applesof any cider mill. Their cider and apples are organic. A half gallon of cider is 8.00. The Carmel apples are 4.50. They have a wonderful animal area for the kids, and wagon rides as well. Apple picking is available in season. We drove here from another cider mill where the cider was bad, due to being pasteurized. I love coming here and highly recommend it.

Yelp
Recently moved to metro Detroit and this is the first cider mill I have gone too around here. Honestly it's okay, I've been to larger and more exciting cider mills in the past. I will say it is clean and well upkept. The cider and donuts are good and there are animals to look at if you have younger ones! I seen a sign that states no dogs except for service animals so keep that in mind if you're wanting to bring your furry friend along.

Yelp
Previously I would have given Plymouth Orchards a five star review, however after going once this season, I was not as impressed as I've been in the past. But I get it, they didn't open at all last year due to covid, and it's still the beginning of the season, so I get that they need to train people, and that's why I'm giving them 4 stars instead of less. Here is the biggest thing that I had an issue with: there wasn't hand sanitizer anywhere, not even inside where they sold donuts and other treats. I didn't bring my purse to the cider mill so I wouldn't have to carry it around, and I just put some cash and my car key in my pocket. I contemplated bringing my sanitizer, but nowadays it's everywhere and I didn't want to have an extra thing to carry. After I bought some goodies for my daughter and I, we found a table, and I began my search for sanitizer. I checked all around the inside of the building where the tables were.... No sanitizer was to be found. I was pretty shocked at this. So my daughter and I used a napkin to hold our donuts and ate them that way. Now I will say that they had hand washing stations outside next to the port-a-potties, but that wouldn't have been very convenient, plus we'd have to touch doors again to get back inside. So really, for the sanitizer issue alone I took off one star. There was also the issue of the hayride.... We boarded but apparently the tractor broke down and they fixed it while everyone waited.... We were on that hayride for an hour.... That's a long time to be on a hayride with a wooden seat! We waited a half hour for the tractor to start, but they hayride was pretty unamusing. There were barely any decorations on the way, and also no pumpkins. We basically just drove around some fields and trees.... It definitely was not worth the $4 per person. I realize the tractor issue is probably a one time thing, but still, the hayride just wasn't worth it and it was fairly irritating! But the donuts and cider were great! The petting zoo/animals they have were fun to see and there were baby goats! I don't think I will return here again this season, but I will give it a try again next year. If you come, just be sure to bring hand sanitizer!

Yelp
I've been visiting this cider mill for almost 7 years. Not only is it beautiful, but the donuts and cider are quite possibly my favorite thing in the fall time. The donuts are fresh, with a dozen priced around $10. Not only do they offer donuts, but they have a ton of baked goods, candies, baking mixes, caramel apples, cider, etc. They have hay rides, picnic tables (indoor and outdoor) animals including pigs, goats, chickens and multiple areas to take fall themed photos. I should warn that if you are sitting outside, there are quite a few bees that pick up throughout the season - but it's their home, not ours. My tip is to get a cider slushy and then put a cinnamon sugar donut around the straw. It's the perfect fall sugar overload. 100% recommend this cider mill for your fall adventures.

Nicole E.

Yelp
Closed for the seasons, why? It's the last day of October today, doesn't that still count as peak fall? The gate was clearly closed. It doesn't make sense that this place is close so early in the season. It's only been full for once in a month. Looks like we have to wait until next year to come again. What a bummer.

kevin k.

Yelp
The warm doughnuts are great. Very kid friendly, the staff are very hard workers. If in the area give it a try.

Alina A.

Yelp
So many activists for kids to go and play around. The wagon ride is like $2 person but worth it. My favorite part was shopping for apples and drinking cider with the kids. The petting zoo is free, but they charge for the feed d. Overall, it's great to take the kids and have them explore outdoors

Sid R.

Yelp
Great donuts, service, and welcoming atmosphere inside. Cider is good too. On a nice fall day, highly recommend you pay a visit here.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Wonderful location. All the animal areas were clean with plenty of shade and areas to keep dry and out of the elements. All had water that looked fresh- the water containers were film and residue clean. Anyone that knows ducks know how much they love to get in the water that they also drink so don't get all irritated if you see it - they are not House pets!. Donuts were fresh and everything was clean. Their port-o-potties are the cleanest I have ever seen. Nothing on the floor, no odor, and a fully stocked hand washing station . I visit every year and will continue to return!

Karen W.

Yelp
Although I am not a huge fan of cider mills in general, I enjoyed our trip here. The best part was that unlike every other cider mill I've been too, there was not swarms of bees everywhere ready to sting and attack! The lines on a beautiful fall Saturday afternoon were long but moved very quickly! I liked that inside they have a variety of baked goods, honey, candy and other items to purchase in addition to apples, cider and donuts of course. The apples here are all organic which is what I was looking for. They also impressed me by carrying Gluten Free Specialties Bakery in Rochester gluten free donuts. They come prepackaged and sealed, 2 donuts to a bag. This paired perfectly with my cider slushie! Meander about to see the petting farm, go on a hayride, listen to live music or pick out a pumpkin to take home.

Yelp
I love this place, a simple and nice cider mill. Donuts and cider are awesome. Nothing too crazy but relaxing and nice.

Amelia B.

Yelp
I am a FAN of this place. It's always hard to decide which Cider Mill to go to; but it all depends on what your looking for. Kids activities? Photo Ops? Haunted houses? Country Store shopping? Apple Picking? U-Picks? Donuts? Cider? Cider Slushies? Petting Zoo? How much time do you have spend? Plymouth Orchards is good quick SIMPLE Cider Mill. It has a few places to explore, take some photos and climb up on hay bales for fun. It has a small Petting Zoo on one side of the place, and a hay ride (you have to pay for it). Only porta potties are available for restroom options. They have a small pumpkin patch as well that the hay ride will take you to. Cider is fresh, and there is a sign that tells you what type of apples are in the Cider that day. The Cider Slush was the best I have had. Donuts come in Powdered, Cinnamon Sugar, and Plain. There are pies, and other treats to purchase in the small country store. It will take maybe 45 minutes to do a once over. So its a great small Mill to visit when your looking for fresh Cider and Donuts and not spend alot of time.

Yelp
CLOSED for 2020 season because of COVID

Yelp
When fall begins to arrive and a slight chill is in the air, you know that the apple orchards will be ripe for the picking. It's at that time that Apple cider and cider donuts are at their peak! Wanting to take full advantage of the fall season, I headed out to the Plymouth Orchards recently to check it all out. Located outside of Plymouth and surrounded by fields, the orchard instantly gives you the feeling of being out in the country and miles away from the buzz of city life. While this orchard isn't a "you pick 'em" Apple place, we still enjoyed the petting zoo on the weekend ($1 buys you all the feed to keep the goats, sheep, and llamas happy for the whole afternoon), and then heading in for some fresh apples, cider, and donuts. There was live music on the same day, which added to the festive atmosphere. It was crowded on Sunday, but not overly so, and the staff was efficient at helping everyone park and move through the lines inside with the least amount of wait and hassle. Even though it may feel more like summer than fall, you can still get into the spirit with a visit to the Plymouth Orchards and Cider Mill!

Yelp
Enjoyed coming here. Didn't know what cider mill to go to but we all decided on two. The first was a disappointment but we decided to come here next. There is no charge to get in but there is a $2.50 dollar charge per weekday to go on the tractor ride. A 3.50 dollar charge to get on during the weekends. The ride takes about 15 minutes and there's a drop off location half way at the pumpkin patch. Small but it was fine. The tractor ride has no special accommodations for seating but you don't have to really worry as he drives 5mph. The animal farm is cute and the pony was a plus. The line to get cider and donuts was LONG. Took 15 min to get in but it was worth it.

Yelp
I came here on a first date to check the place out and see what this cider mill was all about. It's a bit out of my range, so I didn't even know it really existed until my date mentioned it as a place to meet. Walking in, the place was kind of cute. It's not huge, and I really didn't know what to expect. They have a small farm area with goats and cows, a pumpkin patch and hay rides. Walking around was fun because there was stuff to see and do. I really loved the Turkeys here because they are adorable. Cows and goats are friendly and walk right up to you. Chickens and ducks ignore everyone and that is fine by me. lol. Walking to the inside of the store area they have a decent selection of things to buy. Cake and cookie mixes, bread mixes, tea and along with a variety of jellies and other odds and ends. I will say, their individually priced cider was ridiculously priced at $4.25 for a single serving. That's ridiculous. As someone who doesn't want or need a gallon or half gallon of cider to wash down two donuts, I was appalled at how much they charged. Donuts were delicous and fairly priced. Date and I enjoyed our time here and they have a dining room area with picnic tables inside that you can sit down and eat at. They also had a man and woman who were playing guitar, singing and entertaining the masses in the dining area which was cool. Overall, its maybe an hour of your time here if you really drag it out. Not the coolest cider mill out there, but it's good if you want to grab donuts and cider for this time of year.

Yelp
My friend from Florida was visiting me and both of us have never been to a cider mill so it was an adventure for us all. Let me begin with the drive which when you get off of the highway takes you on gravel and you follow signs and make your way to the mill. This was our first time at a cider mill and given that it was a the first cold wave of winter we opted for some hot cider. It was possible the best decision. We loved it so much that on our way out back on the road we got one each hot ciders for the road. You can order donuts and get one each if you so choose. They are freshly baked. So we we got half dozen donuts and two of each kind: regular, powder sugar and cinnamon. I love the cinnamon the most. The only problem I had was the use of porter potties. May be I'm just not familiar with is so I couldn't use the restroom here. Other than that, for my first visit to a cider mill I loved it. I will be back again as long as it's open for season.

Cherie S.

Yelp
We take the opportunity to visit here ever year. Lots of fun. They have a small petting zoo area and a really nice hay ride. The doughnuts and cider are delicious of course. The line for doughnuts is super long but moves really fast.

Jeff H.

Yelp
We stopped at the Red Shed on Sunday afternoon. The cider was good -- the donuts were stale.

Cindi R.

Yelp
Really delicious cider and the donuts are just a perfect texture, very fresh, and delicious. The honeycrisp apples were the best I have found in the area all season. I stopped by the little stand off the road on a beautiful day and avoided the crowds. Loved it!

Bruce E.

Yelp
Opening weekend, everyone is out for fresh apple cider and fresh donuts, yes you dunk warm donut into cider, it is the Michigan way. Beautiful blue skies with a hint of fall, wagon rides ($2.5/3.50 on weekend) though apple orchard. Family of all ages, for us all the cousins, aunts and uncles eating this harvest apples, cider, hot cider, carmel apples, fresh donuts, and apple cider slush. Apple Carmel coffee for our died hard coffee drinker. And live farm animals display and petting. Wish we could see the apple mill as it was in the 60s as we learned the building is used for storage. My wife grew up in this area and they could pick apples then, a flood of memories all. Staff is very welcoming and patience as we decided which donuts we wanted. They grow certified organic apple choices when ripe, but cider is from conventional and they sell conventional apples also. Must come before Nov 5th end of season

Zain R.

Yelp
We went in October, the Apple Farm was close and you can't buy or pick up apple from tree Pumpkin farm was open we pay 3.5$ per person for 10 min small trip in truck through pumpkin farm and we thought ,they will leave us at least 1 hour to pick up the pumpkin, and the pumpkin was already picked up and you ll just choose one and buy it,nothing interesting over there so boring and if you want feed animals you have to pay 5 $ ,Don't go over there , not alot to do it

Graziella B.

Yelp
Lots of activities for children. There's chickens and goats for the children to see and get up close and personal with. There's also an awesome hayride to enjoy through the apple orchard. Once you get your grand tour of the orchard come back in through the barn and go shopping or sit and enjoy your hit cider and fresh apple cider cinnamon donuts! You will have a blast.

Alexandra M.

Yelp
My school took a trip to this apple orchard as a field trip. We are a school with adults with disabilities who are 18-26. We had booked weeks in advanced and were told we would be given the indoor dining area (as they stated "it was wide open, no one had reserved it yet"). Upon arrival (on time) we were directed to put our lunches in an outdoor pavilion, which was covered but had screened walls, because there was a group that came late to the orchard. The introduction and information part of the tour, as well as the wagon ride went really well and we truly enjoyed getting apples and pumpkins. However, because there was a group that came late...we were forced to dine in the outdoor pavilion while it was raining. Several of our students got wet because they were very close to the screen. We also went to buy things and overheard an employee telling each other to "watch these students", even though they were all accompanied by a staff member. Upon complaining, the manager came out and stated "I'm sorry that you're unhappy" which is not a real apology, places blame on us, and designates themselves as the victims. The manager also stated that in the letter they sent it stated where the overflow customers dine and upon looking at the letter it stated an "enclosed pavilion". To me, enclosed means real sides, not screens. They did refund our money, but I can't help but feel like this was because we were a school from Detroit. I also feel as though they could have handled the situation differently, perhaps splitting up the late group into the "enclosed pavilion" as we were timely in our arrival.

Yelp
I am shocked this place has as many stars as it does. Who gives a shit about the donuts, cider and apples when their farm animals aren't cared for?? My husband, myself and my mother were mortified at the tiny cages that the pig, ducks, and chickens were in. With each only having a tiny house for shade. Hopefully they let them out throughout the day but they had zero shade at 4:30 in the evening and their water was FILTHY!! I mean the ducks and pig were PANTING so bad. Every person walking by the ducks water was so grossed out- it was black and thick. We won't be coming back but omg TAKE BETTER CARE OF YOUR ANIMALS!!!!! Ugh!!!!

Christine B.

Yelp
It's cider season in Michigan. My favorite cider mills don't have a lot of frills, or at least have options for folks who are only there for the cider and donuts to get in and out quickly. I went yesterday, and the parking lot was about 85-90% full, so it was pretty busy. Thankfully, I was able to walk right into the building and easily found the line. I waited fewer than 10 minutes in a steadily moving until I was able to pay $8.50 for a gallon of non-pasteurized cider. There were multiple cashiers open who raised their hands and called out as they were ready for the next customer. Because the line goes around the outside of the room, it looks a bit crazier than it really is. Walking out of the room where I paid, there was a large room with tables and chairs for folks to enjoy their cider out of the elements. I expect it gets loud and crowded as the days get cooler and rainier. Still it is a great space, especially for folks with kids who cannot wait until they get home. The cider is good. It has a nice flavor for this time of year. It has some sediment, but not too much. In my house of two, we are already 1/2 gallon into it, so it goes down easy! Though it is not bland, I flavored some with rose-scented geranium, and it picked the flavor up perfectly. I expect it would do the same with a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Geo R.

Yelp
It's my favorite because the apples are good to the core! They are so fresh and tasty and smell so good when the donuts are cooking !

Richard C.

Yelp
Wonderful orchard that has it all! You can get hot fresh donuts, apple cider (warm or cold), several different types of apples, pet livestock, let your kids play in corn, or walkthrough a sunflower maze! This is your one stop shop for all of your Apple orchard needs.

Wendy N.

Yelp
I've been coming to this orchard since I was a child. It's an all around nice compact cider mill. Great cider: check Yummy donuts: check Great hometown service: check Scenic and quaint: check Hayrides and fun: check I love this cider mill, lots of great memories. Well ran and operated, plus decent prices. There is a nice little petting farm, and the cider and donuts are delicious. I love the little store filled with speciality jams and yummy apple butter, pies, breads and many other delicious fall treats. This location also has ample indoor seating to enjoy your treats. The hayride is awesome. The scenic view of the trees changing into beautiful autumn colors, as well as the orchards decorating is lovely. A great orchard and cider mill, definitely worth a visit.

Kelly Y.

Yelp
Best donuts I've had at a cider mill! So warm and crispy. Last time I came here, though, we had to wait over an hour in line for the donuts. Came with friends, so it was fun to chat in line and look at the animals. I think they also have a smaller location where you can just go pick up donuts/ciders without all of the frills.

Racemic U.

Yelp
Lame cider mill. I pulled in because they have a huge sign under their main business sign that reads, "A Certified Organic Orchard and Farm". One would take from this that they therefore sell cider that is made from organic apples. Sadly, this is not the case. The vast majority of what they sell is non-organic cider. Only a tiny table pushed to the side is actually organic cider. I didn't even notice it until I was leaving and asked the woman if the cider I purchased was organic and she confirmed that it was not. They offer 3 donut options plain, cinnamon & sugar, and powdered. We tried the plain and cinnamon & sugar varieties. Both were served cold and didn't seem particularly fresh. The cider tasted terrible. Lastly, the customer service is horrendous. When we entered the store we were the only customers. The woman working there didn't even pause her inventory work to greet us. My 5 yr. old son actually said hello to her 3 times and she just kept ignoring him. How can anyone be rude to a little kid at the cider mill? The only time she acknowledged our presence was when we were leaving and standing by the cash register to pay for our items. This was really bad because we were the only ones in the entire place. As we were leaving an older couple entered and she just completely ignored them also even though the register is directly next to the entrance. No smiles or pleasantries, just curt, short, and unfriendly. As far as I could tell there were no other activities for kids. We ate outside at their picnic tables and behind the store was just an empty field. I see other reviews mentioning a small petting zoo and hay rides but I saw no sign of these...perhaps they are only available on the weekends. If the employee had better customer service skills she would have mentioned them; but she was far to busy doing her inventory for the week. They didn't even seem to have a proper bathroom but just port-a-potties with a small rustic sink. I strongly recommend a different cider mill for a positive and lighthearted experience this fall.

Nancy T.

Yelp
One of the few orchards in Michigan that offer organic apples. The apples were excellent. The animals are a bonus and they do a fantastic job of creating a welcoming space. Highly recommend.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Fun cider mill! We just walked around the farm and got cider a donuts, but there is a corn maze and wagon ride. The cider and donuts were in a big barn with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There were staff members walking around cleaning and wiping down tables which was nice to see. It was pretty muddy though, so don't wear shoes that you love. The parking lot was a mud pit at some parts.

Stella T.

Yelp
This cider mill has a special place in my heart because it was the first one I'd ever visited. There's plenty of space, and you can enjoy a petting zoo, wagon ride, and pumpkin patch. I realized at my last visit that I'm not very good at identifying animals... I think that the animals I saw were goats, chickens, and a cow. I had received a free voucher for the wagon ride, so my friends and I took advantage of it. I probably wouldn't pay the fee to ride the wagon though. It's quite slow and boring, and there isn't much to see along the ride. The driver drops you off at a pumpkin patch and picks you up about ten minutes later. My favorite part about cider mills is, of course, the cider and donuts. I'm not a cider connoisseur, but I thought that the cider was pretty good! A huge plus was that the hot cider only cost $1.50! I went to Franklin Cider Mill a couple weeks ago, and I paid around $4 for the hot cider. The sizes are different, but the one at Plymouth was enough for me. As for the donuts, I wish they were warmer. They were pretty tasty, but I wasn't super impressed. I'd rank Parmenter's Northville and Franklin higher on my cider mill list, but I'd go back to Plymouth since it's closer to my home in Ann Arbor. Also, be sure to use the restroom before going here because they have only portable restrooms!

Morgan A.

Yelp
This place is so cute! Lived in Metro Detroit all my life and had no idea this place existed. My husband and I went here back in October for some fall feels. We arrived around 11am on a Saturday, the parking lot was already pretty packed, but were able to find a spot. As soon as you walk up it is just so cute. They have a building off to the left that I think you can hold private events in, such a wonderful idea for a birthday party. Lots of pumpkins ready for purchase right at the entrance, along with mums and barrels of hay. Lots of super cute picture opportunities set up throughout the property. Tons of seating, so you can sit and enjoy the hot doughnuts and cider. We tasted the cider and got a dozen doughnuts, DELICIOUS! This is what fall tastes like. They also offer a petting zoo, and a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch. The one down side is you cannot pick your own apples, but aside from that, this place has everything you could need for a fall outing. Look forward to our visit again next year!

Sara M.

Yelp
I have a favorite little cider mill in Michigan that I have visited occasionally for more than a decade, but this place is a totally different style experience but just as enjoyable. This place is quite large, has a tractor ride through the orchard, a petting farm for visitors, especially the large groups of children. I visited with a school group of small children. The facility has a pavilion for lunches or snacks, plenty of tables and chairs, adequate restroom facilities. And fabulous friendly staff serving cups of fresh pressed cider, warm apple cider donuts with cinnamon sugar coating and everyone on the tractor ride got to pick a small apple to eat or take home. It was nice to learn that it is an organic farm and there was a small educational presentation on what that means. There was a play area with decorated hay bales to climb or for picture taking. The parking lot handled all the school buses and carpools safely. It was a bit loud and crowded in the pavilion but everyone was using good manners.

Yelp
Yummy real cider and good atmosphere. I love the two dollar wagon rides, for kids under three it is free. You get to pick an apple during the ride which always is fun. Later in the season they also have a pumpkin patch yay! The kids always love the animals, I always love the doughnuts, a good time is had by all. The cider is sweet, I recommend the stuff in late September until around the fifteenth of October which I think tastes the best but all of it works. I am a cider snob really. The doughnuts are perfect cake, crisp yet soft. I like all three varieties, cinnamon sugar, powdered and plain. I will admit the slight crunch of the cinnamon sugar is my go to if I am only having one which sadly is the case now. They have good apples and we always get a bag to take home to enjoy. Mmmmm crisp and fresh.

Yelp
I consider myself an apple cider connoisseur and have hit nearly every mill in the Metro Detroit area at least once in my life. So how is it that I had never gone to Plymouth Orchards & Cider Mill before last weekend?! I'm so sorry for all the 28 years I've gone without the perfect cider slushie. I weep for all the years we've lost, PO&CM! But now that we've got each other--I'm never letting go. It was a warm (verging on hot) day so it was perfect for the aforementioned slushies. Fresh and sweet apple flavor with more spice than most ciders I've had. As someone who throws in more than a little nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves into all my baked goods in the fall this made me a happy apple. They have just pulled up and are running neck and neck with Franklin on my favorite cider in the area. Warm sugar and cinnamon coated doughnuts? Well, ok! Caramel apples with peanuts so thickly dipped that it seeps out of the sides of the plastic and it takes about 3 bites before you even get to the apple? OH YES. Sprawling land means they're not so cramped like a lot of cider mills in the area which is nice. Saw lots of little ones running with wild abandon around the lot. So cute! And having the orchard on sight provided such a lovely view that evening. They also have a petting farm with goats (oh how I love me some goats!), cows, chickens, ducks, and a pretty feisty rooster. Plenty of picnic tables and lounge chairs overlooking the farm provide a comfy spot for cider sipping. The indoor eating area is nice if it's chilly or you've got a big group and they have a shop of apple/fall themed goods for you to pick up should you want (baking mixes, apple butters--your standard cider mill fare). They offer hay rides to take yourselves or the little kiddos on and of course they've got a great selection of pumpkins for all your carving needs. Be sure to bring a camera for all the adorable cut outs they've got for photo ops. As someone who has done some beekeeping I made a beeline for the hive themed cut out, natch! And speaking of bees--if they (sadly) freak you out then you're in luck because they are not so overrun with the little buzzing ladies like, say, Franklin. All in all the perfect fall experience!

Yelp
A cider mill in Plymouth.., who knew?! Well I didn't and felt pretty stupid about it considering I live here. Of course, the minute I found out I needed to go. A same day trip was scheduled, even though it was a rainy day in early September. Because of the rain, we didn't get to putz around as much as I usually like to do. We have no small kids, but I still usually like to explore every nook and cranny of a cider mill to check out it's cuteness in full glory. A visit to the big barn was the only place for us this day, but that was quite alright because that's where all the good stuff is kept. Inside is a store with plenty of local products such as fruit jams/jellies/butters, raw honey products, fresh baked loaves, pies and breads, mulling spice and fall-type 'accessories' and items. I was pleasantly surprised this store did not have the (what it sometimes seems like) obligatory stuffed animals, mounts of conventional candy and miscellaneous $5 cheap China toys to muddy the Fall inspired waters, so to say. The donuts are a win, we particularly liked the crunchy cinnamon sugar ones. The cider was nicely spiced but a little tart, but I chalk that up to us visiting early in the season. It didn't bother me as much as it did my family. On a table next to the windows they sell a glazed apple/raisin bread which we really liked slightly toasted for breakfast the following days. I like that there is indoor seating available, it feels like a giant barn picnic and it shelters you from the unpredictable fall weather and the bees - which seem to bother most people. Lastly, they have a really helpful and pretty awesome Apple Chart above their table holding bushels of apples for purchase. This chart tells you when which apples are in season and are being harvested, and it provides you with a detailed 'bio' of each variety which tells you its flavor profile and best use. Some apples are good for pies, others are good for sauces, yet others are best to just be eaten and not processed. This comes in handy when you're an apple variety noob, but want to whip up something delicious with your freshly picked apples.

Yelp
It's a very quaint cider mill. There were very few animals to see, not that much to do. There was a wagon ride that is $3.50 on weekends and $2.50 during week days which is nice. The apple cider slush is to die for! And the donuts are good as well. Prices seem reasonable. There are much larger orchards to visit with more activities. It was a decent place, not sure if I would return.

Yelp
Super small, only two kinds of donuts, cider overpriced, petting zoo is weak. Only positive was low traffic and the photo opps.

Yelp
This place is wonderful! I've been going here since I was a child and was so excited to take my 8 month old son here for the first time. We all had a blast! It's not a huge orchard, which in my opinion makes it great for younger children who might get overwhelmed by a frenzy of activity. There's a small farm, a pumpkin patch, tractor-pulled wagon ride that drives through the orchards and a very nice market that offers lots of fall-themed products. The cider and donuts are some of the best I've ever had at an orchard. Try the apple bread as well, it's delicious! I would recommend this for anyone who would like a fun fall afternoon. It gets busy on the weekend, so I would recommend a middle of the week trip, maybe sometime near the end of the school day as there are plenty of schools that come here for field trips.

Yelp
What's the point of getting cider mill donuts if they're not hot??? I'm not sure how anyone thinks these donuts are good, but maybe they don't always sell them to you cold. It was definitely a waste of money. I gave two stars as opposed to one because the line was very efficient and they had live music while you waited.

Yelp
This is really a classic family-owned cider mill. It really reminded me of treks to the cider mill when I was a wee one. I love the fact that the orchard is right on-site, and so there are hayrides available (only $2-3) and plenty of space for things like a petting zoo and a little photo area (do I want to be a bumble bee? a work in an apple? a farmer?). The goats and ducks at the petting zoo were pretty adorable, as was watching the kids interact with them. There was a hand-washing area (which I think is a must, considering the petting zoo/food aspect of the place), and everything, both outside and in, seemed clean and well-maintained. The indoor and outdoor areas were chock-full of children and parents, but didn't feel too chaotic or noisy for someone like me who was there with a friend, sans-child. The mill store itself sold three varieties of fresh donuts (soft inside with a slightly crisp exterior), and pretty much any type of apple substance you could think of. Apple butter? Carmel apple kits? Apple candy? Yep, yep, and yep. Lots of other fruit jellies and spreads filled the shelves as well. I only noticed the apple pie at the last minute, so didn't get to sample that. However, I picked up some great cider and really amazing Honeycrisps. I'd say they have about 6-8 varieties of apples on display. There was a large indoor area with picnic tables where everyone from infants to bikers gleefully enjoyed their sweet purchases. All in all, this was just what I wanted from a cider mill on an early fall day!

Yelp
Every peaceful love that they have animals for kids donuts are ok not as good as Blake's or Yates but maybe I just didn't get fresh donuts

Yelp
Of the handful of cider mills around MI I've been to, this one had by far the most space for sitting indoors. The place is packed with various park benches, several indoors, as well as a few outside. This place also had the most other apple related things for sale, including various james, mixes, seasonal coffee flavors, etc. (FYI these aren't things made on site, but most are still regionally sourced). It was also one of the few cider mills where you can actually buy fresh apples on site, and I appreciated the various posters and signs about the different apple types and the type of flavor (tart, sweet, etc) they each had. When we got the donuts here, they were warm and slightly crisp on the outside, yummy! Downside is that their ciders aren't pasteurized, FYI. The outside had a few various tractor trucks to climb, and a couple of farm animals. They also had several painted wooden cutouts, the type where you stick your face through to take a photo.

Yelp
It's hard for me assess this place, as the majority of my time was spent waiting in line for cider and donuts. This past fall was especially mild, so it seems like any cider mill you went to was just jam packed every weekend, and this place was no exception. A decent amount of things for the kids to do (at least enough to keep them busy as I waited in line for cider and donuts). As I got in line, they had little markers that would tell the approximate wait time for that point in the line. When I finally got into the building, like most cider mills, they sold more than just cider and donuts. They had pancake mixes, syrups and other items of the like inside. On the far wall is the refrigerators where they kept all the cider. And when you go up to pay the cashier, they have all the donuts behind them. It seems like they could come up with a more efficient way to do this, but that may require more space. Got a gallon of cider and 2 dozen donuts (variety of their normal, powdered, and cinnamon sugar donuts) to split with the family. The cider was ok. Considering the other cider mills we went to this past year, it was probably the best, but just ok. I'm not sure if it was something to do with this year's harvests of apples, but the cider didn't look as dark as it usually does in most years. The donuts were nothing to write home about. OVERALL- hard to say if this was a down year for a cider or not, but I wasn't that impressed. Other than the proximity to my house, and I can't say that there is anything here that would draw me back. CELEBRITY RATING- Joey Fatone

Yelp
Tiny but a good afternoon outing with littles. Hay rides and a playground make it enjoyable for an hour and a half. Lines were short and staff friendly.
