Google
Great vegan menu with so much flavor, the mushroom tacos were my favorite but everything was so good I can't wait to come and try more. Bonus points for homemade tortillas!

August B.

Google
Ordered a bean rice and cheese burrito. It was mostly rice but the rice was DELICIOUS! The burrito was hot af when it came out but somehow when I finally made it down to the cheese it wasn’t melted. That’s the only reason I’m not giving this burrito a 5 star.

Google
Had the veggie taco, have been dreaming about going back since. Guacamole on top was also a really good guac.

Trae K.

Google
The Poblano Pepper @ The bite of Belmont is simply amazing. I ordered their chimichanga and it was so fresh and full of robust flavor. Their refried beans are to die for. I highly recommend this place and will be returning with my girlfriend real soon.

Google
The tofu bowl with epasote (mushrooms) is easily one of the best vegan Mexican plates I've ever experienced.

Paul S.

Google
refreshing to find vegan tacos and burritos (several of each to choose from) at PDX! in a small food cart before security behind Blue Star Donuts. quick, reasonably priced and VEGAN! tasty epazote and mushroom tacos, or grilled tofu tacos.

Sean B.

Google
If you want a great tasting, good sized and well priced burrito, this is the place to go! By far the best burrito I have had in a very long time. Nice environment, nice people and great food 😊👌🏻

Jordan Enright Schulz (.

Google
The tacos were delicious, though one of the sauces they provided was so spicy I about died. 😭 But it was my fault for using all of it on both tacos. Otherwise great food and service and calm, relaxing outdoor atmosphere. 🌟

Yelp
I was sweaty and gross after dragging my butt through a 10K. My sister grabbed a coffee and breakfast sandwich next door. I ordered the vegan burrito. Delicious roasted vegetables, melty, vegan cheesiness. The food came out fast. For a Saturday around 11am- not busy. It felt nice feeling like being part of the Portland vibe.

Yelp
Feom the first bite, I was in love! The crispy, perfectly cooked carnitas were the star of the taco - as they should be - and with every bite I got more crispy bits of deliciously addicting caramelized pork. Sooooo good! I think I was literally moaning as I ate them. The corn tortillas are freshly made and you can absolutely taste the difference. The street tacos were exactly how I like them: one home made corn tortilla stuffed with crispy yet tender carnitas, topped with chopped onion and cilantro served with fresh lime. Legit. Tacos are $3 and totally worth it. I ordered three and was full after two so had one for a snack later. Service with a huge smile from a woman who genuinely wants you to enjoy your meal. Food is fresh, meaning cooked to order and served piping hot. Located in The Bite on Belmont, a small food truck pod, Poblano Pepper had a continuous line so that's saying something. I'll definitely be back for more tacos and look forward to trying chimichangas, burritos and other menu items.

Yelp
My favorite burrito in PDX! The flavors are on point and the staff are so kind. Highly recommend! My favorite item is the chicken fajita burrito

Yelp
As a Californian, one of my fatal flaws is thinking that California has the best tacos. Poblano Pepper, like many other delicious Mexican restaurants all over the US, once again...reminds me that excellent tacos also reside in other places. Tacos: I always test out Mexican restaurants by their al pastor taco. Easily the best type of taco (although fish taco fanatics and lengua taco purists will disagree). Poblano Pepper does not disappoint. The pieces of al pastor are delicious and are augmented by the grilled onion slices and pineapples pieces. I also ate a chorizo taco. It wasn't mushy or greasy, which is the sad fate for many chorizo tacos. I will admit that chorizo and al pastor aren't the best taco pairing, but I was in a mood. The spiciness was perfect and the saltiness was just right. I really should have ordered more. Let's not forget the handmade tortillas. No easy task for any Mexican restaurant. It's time consuming and often done poorly. Here, they are soft, warm, the right size, and strong enough to never endanger the integrity of the taco. Drinks: Tacos are enhanced with the drinks you down them with. I'm sorry, but a taco with water is a wasted taco. Controversial, but I believe this. The selection of drinks here is top tier. They had grapefruit jarritos, which is rare. The horchata was smooth and sweet, but not too sweet. Sadly, I leave this place in a few days and I will miss it. Dear, Portland residents (Portlanders?), you have a gem here. Try their al pastor tacos with a grapefruit jarrito.

Yelp
I love this food cart! I love their nachos and taquitos, but their tacos are also amazing! My favorite meats are the pastor, carnitas, and carne adada. Their orange salsa has a yummy spice. If you're looking for pickup, they're quick with call-ahead ordering!
google avatar

Darren Y.

Yelp
Tried out the food cart on Belmont. Was pretty popular. Very friendly staff - got bunch of tacos. Carnitas, spicy tinga, pineapple pork, mushroom and tofu. All tasted pretty good. Their creamy looking salsa is hooot! They threw in some chips and guacamole for free - huge tub of guacamole and crispy chips. Nice!
google avatar

Yelp
These guys make great food, are super friendly and amazing to have at an event. I highly recommend ordering from them and having them cater any event you have- you'll be happy you did!
google avatar

Dun G.

Yelp
Overpriced and BAD. Chicken is beyond dry- everything else too wet. No flavor. No salsa just liquid sauces for your food. Guy messed up our order but not horribly, just seemed like he couldn't get it.
google avatar

Cristina C.

Yelp
We visited then at Portland BBQ & Brews fest, which was a nice change of pace. My son was about done with BBQ, and just wanted a taco. Reasonable prices, considering their competitors. My son said their horchata was one of the best he's had, so food for them!
google avatar

Bradford J.

Yelp
Their burritos are so big and so good. I have never had a bad experience. Kind people with great service..

Grace M.

Yelp
delicious. the epazote mushroom stacos/burrito are a vegetarian dream. genuinely the best vegetarian tacos i've ever had. whenever i'm in the area i make a point to come here; its my favorite taco truck in all of pdx
google avatar

Kylie C.

Yelp
My favorite taco spot in Portland! Their tacos are amazing. More specifically the carnitas tacos. It's so juicy and flavorful! I've also tried the carnitas chimichanga and breakfast tacos. Both amazing! The breakfast tacos can get a little overwhelming after a while. The salsa for the tacos are spicier than other taco spots so just a heads up. But overall so yummy! Service can be a little slow depending on when you go.

Yelp
I went to cartside in NE Portland so I'm not sure why that specific location isn't on Yelp. Difficult to maintain social distance rules just because the space was small and other food carts with people surrounding them. There were spaces to eat near a brewery though. Poblano pepper was really good! I'd recommend. Many vegan options! Got the soyrizo burrito for 8.50. The green sauce was hot.
google avatar

Esbeida R.

Yelp
We had the Poblano Pepper taco truck come to our wedding and they were absolutely phenomenal. Marcelo is the kindest man and cares so much about both the quality of his food and the service he provides. The tortillas, meat, and toppings are all fresh. Watch out for the salsa though because they're not playing around with that heat!
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
I went here tonight and shared a chimichanga and the chips and guacamole with my wife and it was SO DANG DELICIOUS. Portion sizes are super big on both the chimi and the guac. The chimichanga was the best I've had in a long long long time. This will be my go-to spot for chimi's from now on.
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
Eaten here twice now - a spicy tinga bowl and more recently a chorizo bowl. My coworkers have tried the tacos and burritos. We love ordering lunch from here. Great Mexican food. Consistent and filling.
google avatar

Jaime T.

Yelp
You never know what you're going to get at some food carts when you order something as simple as a chicken quesadilla. I've had some real baaaaaaad ones. Today was not one of those! It was so good, and the lady who served me was so nice. Thank you for a top notch quesadilla!
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
Honestly one of the best vegan burritos I have had in Portland. It's really really hard to find a good burrito in this city, especially a vegan one. I got the vegan chorizo burrito, and the tortilla was fresh, the seasonings were great, and the service was friendly.
google avatar

T B.

Yelp
Great Mexican food. I tend to stick with burritos. They've added a soyrizo burrito and nopales sometimes--wish they had nopales all the time! I've recommended to multiple people. Happy customers!

Beth S.

Yelp
Poblano Pepper sent a food truck to our street fair. The food was delicious, everyone was really happy, and the folks were very easy to work with prior to the event.

greg m.

Yelp
Poblano Pepper goes great w/ a beer from Baerlic. Some of the other food carts are also good but Poblano is my favorite.
google avatar

Yelp
The new cart at the Barley Pod on 60th and Halsey is fabulous! Polite prompt service and great food. I am Gluten and dairy free and have the Carnitas Tacos and have not been disappointed yet and this is my 5th time here in the last week and a half. Definitely worth a try.
google avatar

Mia L.

Yelp
The food is delicious. The reason why I am giving a one-star review is the service. The reason for coming to a taco truck is to be able to enjoy the green and red sauce with our food and we order a lot of food every time. Today we ordered 6 tacos and 2 very large burritos total of $36 worth of food and a generous tip. With that said the women working refused to give us more than 6 total sauces!!!! Mind you we have 6 tacos.... So we will not have green or red sauce to put on the giant burritos! When I asked if I could pay for more the sauce the women copped an attitude and said that they don't have enough to sell. Mind you they close in 20 minutes and she pulled the sauce cops out or A HUGE BOWL that had at least 50 sauces in it! She lied to my face!!!!
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
I called to place an order for pick up. The woman who answered was pleasant and helpful in offering suggestions on customer favorites. I ended up ordering a chicken tinga burrito, a rajas poblano burrito with black beans, and 4 tacos (spicy tinga, carne asada, epasote mushroom, and carnitas), all for around $22 which turned out to be an amazing amount of food! Everything was flavorful and delicious. My only complaint would be that the bottoms of the tacos were dripping with oil (appeared the oil originated from a single taco, possibly the mushroom...but can't say for sure). Regardless, they all tasted great! The burritos I would say were definitely the highlight of the meal. They were huge and hearty, and packed full of deliciousness. My partner emphasized how friendly the woman was running the cart. With the chaotic fast paced nature of the world these days, sometimes niceties are tossed to the wayside. Her friendliness and smile was so appreciated and added to the overall value of our meal. This is a cart we will definitely eat at again.

Yelp
came back a couple of times to find their food quality improved. the vegan mushroom or tofu tacos are excellent and a good deal. all of the interactions i've had with staff in the last year or so have been great. the food always comes out quickly. sorry for my angry previous review. it still stands as it's what i experienced but happy to update with a better experience to share.
google avatar

Matt V.

Yelp
Didn't think a bite would remind me of my grandmas tortas. So delicious, torta only lasted like 2 minutes before I inhaled it lolll. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Chad S.

Yelp
I'm hard on Mexican food, tacos especially and have always felt it's an area Portland had room for improvement in. Poblano just made my exception list. Tacos are on point with handmade tortillas!
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
I have been this food cart six times first two times were excellent then every time after it's gotten worse today I was given a Carnitas plate which I have ordered every time it was all fat no meat to the point of being ridiculous I was going to bring it back but my friend said that they would be embarrassed so I didn't but I think that this place is very inconsistent should be avoided it took 45 minutes I had to go up there twice to ask where my food was the reply was it's coming it's coming with an attitude I will never go here again I live right down the street

Sara A.

Yelp
I just moved down the street from The Bite on Belmont and ate at Poblano Pepper for the first time recently. Mexican is my absolute favorite and have tried food carts all over. But, this place was absolutely amazing! We all loved everything we ordered and ate it all! The individuals working/running Poblano Pepper are also SO friendly and you get your food fast! I've been there a few times since and plan on being a regular. Totally a place to try!
google avatar

Matthew W.

Yelp
Good food. Has a leg up on most other taquerias in town due to the flavors being a bit more nuanced than the blandness that's par in PDX. The refried beans taste like they should; buttery and fragrant. The owners are super sweet, which always makes a visit enjoyable.
google avatar

Jose R.

Yelp
Chimichanga was fresh, crunchy, steaming, and amazingly seasoned. Very well priced also. So many ways to make a chimichanga yet they smother it with their sauce, tomatoes and lettuce. Great combo. Looking to go back soon.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
It took me about a year and a half, but I finally found a solid taco in Portland. I've eaten here three times in the past 9 days and it hasn't disappointed. Taco's are $2 a piece and I recommend the carnitas or al pastor. Watch out for the red salsa, it looks creamy and mild but has some real kick!
google avatar

Whitney O.

Yelp
Love this food truck! They're super friendly, fast and have delicious tacos (both sauces are super dang good, one is pretty hot but amazing). Can't wait to try more from Pobalno Pepper.
google avatar

Steve K.

Yelp
Delicious Food! Burritos and quesadillas are loaded with great meat and love that they include guacamole and sour cream with most items! I'm glad they moved to the 60th Barley Pod and gave us a Mexican choice of food!
google avatar

Roo F.

Yelp
Best Carnitas Tacos I have ever had. Wonderful owners, and delicious homemade tortillas! I crave these tacos all the time!
google avatar

Anders K.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in Portland by far! Their carne asada and red sauce is my favorite.
google avatar

Carlos D.

Yelp
This place rocks! Reasonably priced, super friendly staff, great hot sauce and their food never feels like a gut bomb. What more could you want? The tinga here is great and surprisingly for Oregon, actually has a decent amount of heat! As a plus, they're always super accommodating if you want to add or substitute something in your dish. It's always nice to find authentic Mexican food that isn't greasy as all hell, not that grease is bad but sometimes you don't want that, ya know?

M T.

Yelp
This place is down right the best place to get a burrito In PDX, I come here roughly 4 times a week for either lunch or dinner and get the same custom made (. Yes they will happy add or minus items if u ask ) Breakfast burrito. They use real. Yes real new potatoes, not French fries or hash browns but delicious new potatoes. ( A new potatoes is like a baby red or baby Yukon potato ). Makes a huge difference The hot sauce both mild and hot are the best I had.
google avatar

Matt J.

Yelp
This place has some of the best burritos. This poblano is also (mostly) permanently stationed at basecamp so that's a plus. I've even had them at the cinco de mayo festival and they never disappoint. Get here and eat everything they make.

Yelp
If you happen to be going to Belmont Station for a beer, or just happen to be in the neighborhood, I suggest you check out Poblano Pepper. As a former resident of California, I've had some pretty amazing Chimichanga experiences from San Diego to San Francisco. I then moved to Seattle, where I went years looking for another one. I'd order them, only to find it was a burrito that was simply crisped on a flattop grill. That is not a chimichanga. A chimichanga is a deep fried burrito. Not one crisped by any means necessary. I was pretty excited to walk from Belmont Station where I was attending their 19th Anniversary Party to this Food Cart Pod - The Bite on Belmont. I had already planned to get the chimichanga so I went over to the cart and a friendly older woman took my order. I checked out the other food carts, and paid a visit to the onsite beer cart. The was covered seating, space heaters, and booze. You can hang out at this place and knock back a few cold ones in this casual atmosphere with lots of food options. I was excited to get back to the bar and have a look at my dinner. It was pretty big, as Chimichangas should be. It had rice, chicken, and cheese inside, with the cold toppings such as lettuce, salsa, and sour cream on top. The food did not disappoint! Although I would have liked beans inside like they do at my favorite place in SF, it does make the Chimichanga even bigger and probably harder to fry. If you've never had a chimichanga, try the one at Poblano Pepper - IT'S SOLID!

Michael S.

Yelp
Thanks for f*ing up my vegan soyrizo burrito order and making me eat a mouthful of steak for the first time in 15 years, I feel like I'm gonna barf now. I'd come back to get a replacement except I'm 30 minutes away now.
google avatar

Danni D.

Yelp
I blame Karen M. for ever introducing the idea of a chile rellano chimichanga. I blame Chrisi B. for allowing me to try hers. And I blame myself every time I order it. Every. Single. Time. It's SO much food. It's too much food. And every time I intend to order a couple of tacos, the words "chile rellano chimichanga" come out of my mouth as if spoken by someone else. Come with a friend. Split it. You'll be friends for life. It's like a blood oath that can never be broken. So thankful this cart is in the 'hood.

Natalie E.

Yelp
Poblano Pepper has the best burritos in town hands down! My husband and I eat here once a week - the prices are great. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Amber B.

Yelp
Best tacos in Portland. Seriously.. my favorite tacos in the world. Highly recommend/m. Try the spicy tinga

Betsy G.

Yelp
Really, one of the best Mexican carts in Portland. Great food every time!

Joe T.

Yelp
Hands down the best tacos and all around Mexican food in town. Great service, friendly employees and super fast turnaround time once the food is ordered. Pablano Pepper is my go-to when I'm in the mood for delicious tacos and burritos. These folks also have a special place in our heart because they catered our wedding back in 2015. People still talk about how awesome their service and food tasted all these years later and I'm here to say they've still got it. Highly recommend you try them out the next time you're over on SE Belmont and want to support an awesome family-owned local business.

Ellee M.

Yelp
Friendly staff, delicious good size tacos (I got two and thought I made a mistake but I was perfectly full) fast service, and warm tortilla chips! Overall great experience.
google avatar

Christine G.

Yelp
Very poor customer service! I asked a couple simple questions about their menu and the lady in the front had a bad attitude! Not worth my business when businesses make their customers feel stupid. Very disappointing and ruined my day. Never coming back.
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
It was great to get a vegan option at PDX Airport. Their food truck offers several options but I highly recommend the grilled vege burrito with added Tofu!!
