"In the centre of the 300 year old hotel of the same name, within a glass-covered atrium, you'll find this spacious restaurant boasting a lounge bar and a dining area overlooking the kitchen. Quality Polish ingredients power modern dishes underpinned by a strong classical base, with confident and assured presentation, bold flavours and an Italian influence. The well-chosen wine list features over 300 Italian wines." - Michelin Inspector

Hotel Pod Różą (Krakow, Poland) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In the picturesque historic center of Kraków is a hotel that’s entirely worthy of its setting: Pod Różą is a 17th-century gem, restored by its current owners to its Renaissance-era glory; its 57 rooms and suites, accordingly, vary widely in their sizes, layouts, and details, though all are true to the building’s ornate antique style, even as they allow for modern luxury-hotel comforts. Amarone, the hotel’s Italian restaurant, is Tuscan in inspiration, while the fine-dining Pod Różą serves a high-end modern Polish cuisine, and the wine cellar, in its arched vault, is a delightfully atmospheric space." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed in a Deluxe Suite for three nights. The room was spacious, with tall ceilings, a chandelier, and a large wardrobe as the first feature upon entering. Closet space was ample, and there were convenient hooks for coats and umbrellas. The living room included a desk, sitting furniture, a TV, a Nespresso machine, and a hot water kettle. The bedroom also had its own TV, both with Chromecast, which I always favor ☺️. The bathroom included both a shower and bathtub, L’Occitane toiletries, robes, and slippers. Housekeeping maintained the room in the cleanest condition. Everything was consistently neat and refreshed, and two bottles of water were provided daily. The hotel has a spa located in the vaulted cellar with a small pool, showers, a sauna, a cold plunge, a steam room, and heated loungers. Out of all the hotels we stayed in while in Kraków, I found this spa the most enjoyable. Additional observations: The suite had beautiful curtains, but there were no blackout shades. The pillows were flat and uncomfortable. However, I noticed the same style in all four hotels I stayed in while in Kraków. There was no turndown service, and the bathroom amenities did not include washcloths or bath salts. Each Deluxe Suite has a different layout. Ours did not include a bathroom window or an exhaust fan, so it may be worth contacting the hotel in advance if you prefer a specific setup from the pictures on their website. The hotel is located on a busy street, and noise carried into the evening. I required white noise to offset it. The only drawback during our stay was the air conditioning unit, which continuously made a clicking noise each time it cycled on and off. Overall: The suite, restaurant, and spa made for a special experience, and we look forward to returning in the future.

Far from 5-star standards The staff was unfortunately not very welcoming, lacking kindness and a smile. The apartment was fine, with a nice view of St. Mary’s Church, but there was a strange, unpleasant smell in the room. The real disaster was breakfast – flies on the cold cuts, dried-out cheese. This is an absolute scandal for a 5-star hotel. On top of that, there was complete chaos: the waitress insisted that breakfast was not included in the rate, although it obviously was – it had to be clarified at the reception desk. An even bigger issue occurred at check-in. Although the stay was fully prepaid, I could not check in without providing a credit card number, which was then entered into the hotel’s system. This was not a standard pre-authorization hold but permanent storage of card details. If I hadn’t had a credit card, I wouldn’t have been able to use an already paid stay. This is absolutely not the standard of a 5-star hotel. There are definitely better hotels in Krakow in this price range – with welcoming staff, pleasant rooms, and truly outstanding breakfasts. I do not recommend this place.

The hotel is beautifully located one block from the main market square. The sleeping rooms are small and a basic but the bathrooms have been restored, including heated floors and a walk in shower.|The restaurant is Michelin rated and very good. The common spaces are awkward - there is a glass ceiling in the main dining room and bar which results in glare - not the most romantic or intimate setting. The bar tenders are gracious and the drinks are good, only wish the seating was more comfortable.|The location tops all of this.

I recently stayed at Pod Roza for a business trip. The hotel has an elegant charm with a beautiful historic renovation and a perfect location right in the center of Krakow. Upon my arrival early in the morning, my room was already prepared thanks to prior arrangements made by my client, which was convenient after the flight. However, several issues unfortunately impacted the overall experience. The shower in my first room (315) was leaking heavily from day one I reported it to reception, but no action was taken during most of my stay. The room also had very thin curtains with no blackout option, which made it difficult to sleep during early summer mornings when daylight starts around 4:30 AM. Additionally, there was no coffee machine or kettle for hot water in the room basic amenities one would expect from a 5-star hotel. The bed itself was comfortable. The spa is beautifully designed, though quite small. The gym offers very limited equipment (no weights, just a bike, treadmill , and yoga mat), and it only opens from 9 AM to 11 PM, which is not ideal for guests with early schedules or jet lag. I had dinner at the restaurant every evening food was generally good but often extremely salty, with several menu items unavailable. The breakfast was of good quality, but I encountered a serious issue when I found a large piece of plastic inside my yogurt, which I reported to the staff. Additionally, some dried orange pieces in the granola were so hard they became a real choking hazard, especially for children. On the evening before my departure, as the issue with the shower still hadn’t been resolved, I reported it again. The hotel offered to move me to a different room, which I accepted. The new room was slightly larger and more comfortable, but overall nothing exceptional. In general, while the hotel has some clear qualities and potential, it currently doesn’t fully meet the 5-star standards it advertises. With better attention to detail and more consistency in guest care, the experience could be greatly improved. Surprising for this level: no labels or descriptions on breakfast items guests have no idea what they’re eating.

We stayed at Pod Roza for two nights including breakfast in July. The interior decor is superb and furniture classic and beautiful. The marble and stone in the bathroom is stunning. The restaurant area is beautifully designed and airy. The food is delicious. The staff are so polite. The combination of old world charm and such well-mannered staff gave a sense of timelessness. The beds are very comfortable tge the bedrooms equipped with everything you need. We would not hesitate to book this hotel again. Probable the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The location is perfect, near the old square.

Amazing SPA and rooms, since it’s an old building it has some infrastructure challenges like for example only one elevator, when hotel is at full occupancy you can be waiting quite long. The breakfast deal is not very good considering that it’s expensive; but it’s not buffet, so you can’t help yourself and need to be waiting for long time for service with a quite limited option for choosing from.

I highly recommend Pod Roza Hotel. Everything was perfect. Beautiful, clean and spacious rooms. Located within the Old City close to lots of museums, sights, restaurants and shops. The spa in the cellar is not to be missed!

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Staff goes on and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Beata was super friendly and helpful. Our daughter got sick and hospitalized for the entire holiday.. the receptionists asked us about her every time we swap shifts to accompany her. They gave us a complementary upgrade from a junior suite to a family suite as we requested a view of the main street. They also provided us with an adapter to charge our phones. All members of the staff go on and beyond their job to accommodate their guests. Whether they are front desk staff, housekeepers, concierge or restaurant staff. Its important to note that they take care of little things such as hooks in the room, side tables, coffee tables, chairs that makes your stay extra special Although Breakfast options were limited but it was delicious (smoked salmon, avocado, poached eggs, granola) It costs 110 polish currency. Location is spot on right on the main street. Starbucks is opposite the hotel and many other cafes and restaurants, shops etc. all 1 min away The only downside is that it might get slightly noisy at night as its on the main street but didnt bother us. Suite was spacious, luxury amenities were provided (O Loccitan) Photos on booking doesnt do its justice. If we visit Krakow again it will definitely be on the top of our list for accommodation.

The staff were waiting for us, it took us seconds to get our keys to our room! The rooms were spacious, the bathroom all marble white & black (hey, that matches my new stripes Fedora hat, perched on the sink!) There's a full-length mirror right when my luggage, so I can easily get dressed while hubby was shaving! That was a plus, since he doesn't like sharing the sink. . . We have great windows, and the views - can't complain. I took lots of photos inside & out. It was clean & comfortable and well done!
