"After booking a stay at the Poetry Inn, keep your phone with you. Because, soon enough, a personal concierge is going to call to find out all the ways your every whim can be catered to while you’re a resident at this sprawling mansion. The only hotel in the coveted Stags Leap district of Napa Valley , the inn has the kind of customized, one-step-ahead-of-you service normally reserved for landed gentry. Which is, essentially, what its owner is, if California had an aristocracy; Cliff Lede is one of Napa’s most successful vintners. After deciding not to turn the well-located space into a private home, Lede instead made it an estate worthy of a design magazine, equipped it with the amenities that he would want, and opened it up to anyone who shares his desire for privacy, stunning views, and exceptional experiences. So, answer that phone, get a reservation at a Michelin-starred restaurant, plan some private biking and winetasting tours, have your suite pre-stocked with local delicacies, and arrange a private dinner cooked by an acclaimed chef. Welcome to the good life."

"The Poetry Inn is somewhat isolated up in the Stag's Leap District (it's about a twenty-minute drive from downtown Napa), and although the rooms feel accordingly secluded and private, almost all of them have excellent views of the nearby hills. The décor is understated but elegant (leather sofas, natural woven wicker chairs, and cozy woven throws). If you're interested in an extended trip, look into their three-bedroom farmhouse that's available for monthly rental; it’s complete with a full kitchen and a private pool."

Wow, such an incredible stay. We only got to spend one night here but enjoyed every second. The staff is super friendly and helpful, rooms were spacious and comfortable — but the views really stole the show. I absolutely loved the pool area and the outdoor shower, and made sure to stick around for sunset on our patio. Whatever you do, leave room for breakfast. It was so good. Those pancakes <3

My husband and I spent 5 days/4 nights here right before Thanksgiving and had a fantastic experience. The rooms, view and food were top of the line, as you would expect, and the best part were the people. ||Everyone we interacted with from Jennifer, Kelsey, Bernard to John was engaging, helpful and genuinely interested in ensuring we had the perfect time without feeling overbearing. I won't spoil the details of some of the little things they did for us, but they were numerous and additive to our experience.||A special thank you to John for being a fantastic host, and reintroducing us to Merlot from Sullivan. We will be back.

My wife and I spent 5 days/4nights here just before Thanksgiving. As expected, the rooms, views and food were outstanding. Taking the experience to another level was the staff (Jennifer, Kelsey, Bernard, John) that was attentive, spot on with ideas and genuinely interested in ensuring we had a great time. Special thank you to John (who we interacted with the most) for reintroducing us to Merlot (from Sullivan). We will be back.

A special stay! The Emily Dickinson room was spacious and had a beautiful view. We enjoyed wine on our balcony every night and watched the sunset with wine. The breakfast is amazing. Rosario and all staff were very attentive. They were able to store our wine in wine cellar until the last day and we had the option to ship bottles if we needed. We highly recommend this hotel!

First Napa trip and this place is amazing. Breakfast options are all great. The rooms are really big and well setup. The view is awesome. Easy drive to several very nice wineries. We loved it.

What more can I say...beautiful room overlooking vineyards, extraordinary hospitality and delicious breakfast. They hit it out of the ballpark on all accounts. Josh and PJ went out of their way to make sure you had everything you wanted and beyond. This small, five room hotel was just perfect for our anniversary getaway. Highly recommend. Cliff Lede vineyard and complimentary wine tasting was thoroughly enjoyed. They arranged a private dinner for us on the balcony by Chef Amanda; a perfect way to spend our last evening. Great for couples.

Yelp
Hands-down the best place to stay in all of wine country! Need I say more? This is not going to be your traditional hotel experience. You are going to feel like you are at a luxury second home, with a hospitality staff that is kind and extremely polite and courteous. I can not say more wonderful things about this place. I almost am hesitant to write a review, as I want to keep this place unspoiled and all to ourselves. Bravo Poetry Inn. We can't wait to return!

Yelp
A slice of heaven... This small, almost boutique hotel was so very charming, the way it is set up, you enter and feel almost like you are the only one there. Greeted with wine and cheese, a tour though the gardens and a stop to take in the breathtaking view, we were guided to our room, a very large room with a hammock off the room in a little alcove that was Tovar's and surrounded by trees, overlooking the vast scenery of the many vineyards below. The bed almost swallowed you whole and helped drifting off to sleep so easy. Breakfast was served in our room and by a picture window one morning and the second, we took it outside and watched the sunrise with our coffee and croissants. They were so accommodating and helped us make all reservations for dinner and helped us find everything we needed or didn't know we needed for our trip. We will definitely be back! And next time, stay even longer

Yelp
Luxury accommodations at its finest. The Inn is gorgeous! We were greeted by the Inn keeper with wine and a cheese plate overlooking the valley from their balcony. After soaking in the ambience and enjoying our wine, we were showed to our room. Our room was spacious with a big balcony looking out to the valley. We had a huge bathroom with a soaker tub and outdoor shower with hammock area to enjoy outside. The Inn also has a pool and hot tub. When we were there it was like our own private pool. In fact for our visit, we didn't see any other guests the whole time we were there. Definitely a private, romantic place to stay. The Inn keepers are very helpful and assisted us with planning our stay in the valley including making reservations at wineries and offering recommendations well before we checked in to our stay. It was extremely wonderful service which helped make our stay even more special. Breakfasts are three courses of delicious food - great start to the day. Bread or baked goods from Bouchon bakery, oatmeal or yogurt, and then a hot dish like breakfast tacos or pancakes or waffles. Just amazing! This will be hard to top and we may very well have to stay here again on our next visit to Napa!

Yelp
Stayed here with my husband for our anniversary. It is really a great place . With beautiful views, hospitality is great, the breakfast is wonderful, and their decor is so elegant but yet very cozy! We loved the floor warmer on the bathroom tile. When we came in we were greeted at the door with wine and cheese platter and a tour of our room. Everyone was so helpful and always greeted you with a smile. I can't say enough about the Poetry Inn I can't wait to stay there again. It was well worth the money spent. I failed to mention that we had arrived early and decided to stop at their winery for a tasting before check in. Not really they were owned by the same place. We were treated to a complementary tasting and everyone was just so kind. Thank you again for making our Anniversary so very special.

Yelp
This property is UNBELIEVABLE. My fiance and I stayed here for one night over my birthday weekend, and we did not want to leave! Upon arrival at the inn, we were warmly greeted by Daniel (the innkeeper), who showed us over to the front veranda for a glass of wine and platter of delicious cheeses and olives. Daniel was extremely kind and friendly, and we felt instantly comfortable there. The inn overlooks the Napa Valley, and we sat admiring the gorgeous view of the vineyards for quite a bit before venturing up to our suite. It was hard to peel us away! Once upstairs, we were in awe. The room was absolutely incredible....very tastefully decorated and inviting. We stayed in the upstairs suite, which has all the amenities one could ever imagine in a luxury accomodation: Romantic wood-burning fireplace, wrap-around deck with cozy sitting areas overlooking the valley, large and comfortable living area, flat-screen tvs with surround sound throughout the suite, heated floors in the master bathroom, outdoor shower, guest bathroom, comfy robes and slippers, fully stocked complimentary mini bar, plush king-size bed that feels like sleeping on a cloud....the list goes on! You name it, they have it. Throughout our stay there, we felt like we were the only guests at the property....the privacy is hard to beat. We cat-napped at the pool in the early evening, and made our way back down to the hot tub after an excellent dinner at nearby Bouchon. In the morning, we were greeted with delicious mufins from Bouchon Bakery, coffee and orange juice in our room while deciding what we would order for our second and third breakfast course. Yes, you heard it right....a three course breakfast on our own private deck to start off our day. We had a hard time making our way back downstairs to check out. Everything was perfection. I could ramble on and on about our stay at the Poetry Inn, but to sum it up: By far the most wonderful place we have ever stayed! Thank you, Daniel, for the amazing weekend away. We are sure to return!

Yelp
After a fantastic weekend, we were supposed to head home on Sunday late afternoon. We were wine tasting at Cliff Lede and saw them advertising this place on a flat screen computer monitor. We asked about it and was told that it's gated and not really open to the public. However, given that it's Sunday afternoon, it might not be busy and we might be able to take a tour if we call ahead. After calling, Chris - the Innkeeper, invited us up. He showed us around the place, which is absolutely magnificent with a gorgeous view of the Napa Valley. The place used to be a Bed-and-Breakfast but has been renovated into something much more exclusive and high-end. It only has five rooms, with two being suites. Each room is perfectly furnished, with a balcony that looks into the valley. After telling Chris that we will be back one of these days, we got in the car to drive home. And then he turned to me and said "hey, why don't we spend the night here..." I got out of the car, walked back into the hotel and got us the Robert Frost suite. - Huge balcony to view the sunset - Huge comfortable bed - Huge sunken tub - Outdoor shower - Hammock in the back, right in the sun - Wood-burning fireplace - CD stereo system - iPod stereo system I can go on and on. The biggest selling point is the view. WOW. Next morning, we were treated to a three course breakfast. Given that the place only has five rooms, the personal attention is simply unmatched. This place is for the rich and famous. I pretended to be one for one night and will not forget that night for a long long time.

Yelp
After discovering The Poetry Inn by chance a year ago, (unfortunately we were staying elsewhere) my fiancé and I agreed that this was the place to stay on our next visit to Napa Valley. When we decided to elope we had no trouble selecting it as our desired venue. When the fires hit the Napa region some months ago, we were definitely concerned, but based on assurances from staff we decided to stick with our plan. After my recent visit to finalize plans and take a few days to familiarize myself, I am so happy to say that we made the right decision! Firstly, the surrounding area, and Inn grounds are simply gorgeous, with no indication of fires. The views are nothing short of spectacular, and the Inn itself is the embodiment of understated elegance. The staff is beyond friendly and efficient, and made me feel so pampered as they attended to every detail. The welcoming wine and cheese plate upon arrival, served on the deck overlooking the vineyards was a great start, and our stay was uphill from that point. The Cliff Lede Backstage tour and wine tasting afternoon with Todd was terrific, and Chef Lyn's breakfast was not to be missed. Hats off to the Poetry Inn's keepers, Daniel, Henrike, Marc, and Lisa; you set the bar for professionalism. Looking so forward to our big day in May!

Yelp
My wonderful boyfriend took me here for my birthday this weekend and of all the places that we've been too, this is hands down the absolute best place we've ever stayed at. 5 Stars for the Inntakers and service. 5 Stars for the cleanliness of the facilities. 5 Stars for the spectacular views. 5 Stars for every single aspect you can imagine. There is not one negative thing I can say about Poetry Inn. The experience was rejuvenating. From the moment you drive up the hill and arrive, you're greeted by the Inntaker with sparkling wine, cheese and crackers and the spectacular view. The minute we sat down on the balcony, sparkling wine in hand, we had to pause and take a moment to breathe and take it all in. It was serene. We stayed in the Emily Dickenson room. Beautiful! Everything was so luxurious! From the gigantic king sized bed to the heated floors throughout the bath area to the out door shower. UGH!! We literally, did not want to leave the room! The Inntakers really make this place special. Lena and Daniel are genuinely nice people, they took care of every single thing that we could possibly need and more! They were always one step ahead of anything you could possibly need. For breakfast, we had the option to eat out in the lobby balcony or in our room. We opted the room. We stepped out for dinner and when we got back there was a table ready for us right in front of the balcony for our breakfast. I couldn't wait for breakfast! Morning comes and we were brought coffee and pastries from Bouchon as well as the New York times. A few minutes later, they brought a bowl of perfectly ripened fruit as well as melons wrapped with delicious preciutto. We were just amazed at how much food was being brought out. The main meals of the morning were chunks of corned beef with bell peppers and potatos and cornmeal pancakes with blueberries. AMAZING! The day two's breakfast was equally amzaing. French toast with fresh berries and bacon and scrambled eggs with sauteed mushrooms, roasted tomato, bacon and sausage. I can't wait to come back to the Poetry Inn. It's definitely a hidden gem and I'm glad we found it!

Yelp
Absolutely a fabulous place! My fiancée proposed at the Poetry Inn. It was a dream come true. Bob, the inn keeper, was very attentive. He made us feel welcomed and feel like royalty. A week later we got a card from him thanking us for our stay!! Now that's customer service. The view was unbelievable!! We stayed on one of the suites with a balcony, outdoor shower, and heated bathroom floors. Loved, loved, this place. We will definitely go back!

Yelp
We loved every second of our stay here. Gorgeous in and out and the breakfast was amazing! The most romantic place to stay and we cant wait to go back. One of my favorite hotels (Inn) in the world. Loved loved loved it!! 5 stars in every respect.

Yelp
We came here for our anniversary. Tis is one of only two places in the Napa Calley that have views. And the views are spectacular. We had breakfast on the balcony overlooking the valley. The room is fantastic: 4 poster bed, huge balcony, inside AND outside showers, hammock, large tub, wood burning fireplace, desk and wifi. We arrived early and had wine and cheese plate in the lounge while we waited. This is a small inn, only 5 or so rooms. The staff is great, Bob checked us in and was very helpful getting a dinner reservation. A very nice and beautiful young German lady took his place until 9 pm. After 9 the staff leaves and the place is yours. Very quiet and restful.

Yelp
I truly didn't want to leave. We've just finished a 2 night stay and all I can say is that it was perfection. Everything about the Poetry Inn is easy and relaxing. It started with welcoming us at sunset with wine and cheese on the patio when we checked in. Mark and Daniel were amazingly helpful with dinner reservations, winery recommendations and were beyond gracious with their hospitality. The 3 course breakfast is an amazing way to start the day and the spirits and night cap selections in the evening are a great touch. Our suite was phenomenal, luxurious and just the quiet oasis we needed. Leaving Napa Valley is never easy, but leaving the Poetry Inn made it that much harder. We will be back time and time again. Thank you Poetry Inn!!!

Yelp
As previously mentioned, this place is gorgeous! Simply no other word suffices. The rooms are incredibly luxurious and you really don't want to leave (however you will leave to go to Cliffe Lede at very least). Breakfast in your room (three courses - which you specified) overlooking the winery is a sinful treat! I stayed there with my new wife for our honeymoon and we are determined to return sometime soon.... very soon!

Yelp
The experience exceeded our already high expectations.. From our first phone call to organize our visit until the moment we said our goodbyes after our 3 day stay, the personalized service and attention to detail was exceptional. Daniel and Mark helped create an experience that exceeded any of our (numerous) previous visits to the area. The rooms are exquisite and perfectly tailored for an intimate getaway. They are gorgeously furnished with wood burning fireplace and sitting area that creates the perfect place to enjoy each other, the wine, and beautiful cheese plate they bring in afternoon. The bathrooms give the feel of your own private in-room spa. With heated floors, bathrobes, bathtubs for two, and a shower that coverts to steam room. All perfectly designed to accommodate two. Some rooms include a private enclosed outside shower and lounge area to enjoy a natural outdoors experience and warmer weather. The rooms also have beautiful outside terraces with unparalleled views for you to sit and relax- enjoying each other and delicious snacks, wine or breakfast. The views of the property, valley, and mountains are also displayed in every room from multiple windows and sliding glass doors. Every morning, the Chef Lynn Vita creates a delicious 3 course breakfast with pastries from Bouchon and farm to table entrees that can be set up inside/outside your room in front of the gorgeous view of the valley and Macamayas mountains. The food is so much better than many local places you could go for breakfast. ****Next time we will definitely order the option of private in-room Chef's dinner**** In the common area, you may also find some of Chef's special chocolate chip cookies sprinkled with Maldon Sea salt flakes-they are amazing. What truly makes the experience magical is the exceptional service and the many ways Mark and Daniel worked to customize every detail of our visit to match our personal wants and needs. From our stay inside the Inn to all of out outside activities (wine tasting, restaurants, shopping, places to see). We truly enjoyed the comprehensive, better than first class experience.

Yelp
This place deserves all the stars in the world! Wow! The first review did a great job describing it...It is certainly for the rich and famous and is fully worth it. Heated bathroom floors, (yeah, a first one for me :) wrapping outdoor deck with breathtaking views of the valley, daybeds outside on the deck, fireplace, huge tub (yup, fits 2:) personable friendly services that attends to all your needs nonstop...5 rooms-very intimate ...Drinks outside on the padio, complemenatry sparkling wine & an awesome cheese plate.....Ahhh...I want to go back there....breaksfast is delicious, there is a chef onsite that cooks just for you and will make whatever you'd like as long as the ingredients are there....The breakfast menu changes everyday, but they made an omelette that I had the day before because I liked it so much....This place is poetic....and dreamy! Great spot! Thank you Alex.

Yelp
We had the chance to stay at Poetry Inn in May of 2013 and I must say it was incredible. Everything was top shelf! The property itself is perched on top of a hill and provides for magnificent views. The reception when we arrived was out of this world, we were able to enjoy the vista, some wine, cheese, and some delightful croissants. Our room was absolutely perfect, beautiful furnishings, plush bed, indoor and outdoor shower, massive tub, and a expansive patio with lounge chairs. As an added bonus the poolside and hot tub that overlook valley, absolutely marvellous - something we did not expect for a property of this size. Our innkeeper, Leona, provided us impecable service, and made sure we were looked after throughout our stay.We were treated to a 3 course breakfast in bed, and throughly enjoyed it. Can't say enough things about her!

Yelp
My husband & I stayed here the night of our wedding and a few days after before heading to honeymoon. Absolutely the BEST place to stay in NAPA. I felt completely spoiled here! They do anything and everything for you. The view is breathtaking and the service is 100%. The hubby kept it a surprise to me for our wedding night and I was completely speechless walking into our room. It was SO romantic. We had massages here as well that took all the stress away and wine tasting right across the street at Cliff Lede Vineyards was a fun time. They made us a coursed out dinner which we enjoyed in our room with the amazing view! Thank you to the inn keepers for making us feel so welcome and spoiling us. We enjoyed ourselves so much we did not want to leave.

Yelp
Napa's best kept secret!!! From the moment you drive up, you notice the attention to detail everywhere. The impeccably maintained property, has one of the best views of Napa Valley. You are welcomed by their world class innkeepers, Daniel, Henrike, Lisa and Marc. They are professional, courteous, genuine, knowledgeable and instantly your friends. Their in house culinary wiz, Chef Lynn prepares the most amazing breakfast, think Le Bouchon pastries, locally sourced eggs, vegetables and homemade granola!! Chef Lynn prepared our private terrace dinner, which I highly suggest you experience, to perfection. The rooms are generously appropriated, with a Tocca scented candle to welcome you, chaise lounge chairs on your private terrace and wood burning fire place. The L'Occitane bathroom toiletries, were put to good use in the indoor and outdoor shower, which provides a view of the hot air balloons taking off in the mornings. If you are looking for a slice of heaven in Napa, you have found the place. Make sure you book in advance, as reservations are limited to just 5 suites. We look forward, to making beautiful memories here, for years to come.

Yelp
Truly a special and magnificent experience. I only want to stay at Poetry Inn when in Napa and am extremely excited to schedule my next trip after just returning from there. Bob and Daniel exemplify the best guest experience. We felt like old friends reconnecting with them and they were both so accommodating to any requests we had. They made great recommendations and were always attentive and kind to us. We didn't want to leave and have already told all our family and friends about Poetry Inn. If you go, please be sure to take time to just enjoy your room and the Inn and truly soak in the environment and view. What a true gift! Thank you, thank you!

Yelp
My family stayed here this past week and we cannot say enough good things about the Poetry Inn. It is top notch in every way! The innkeepers are so attentive to your every need. They are the best staff I have ever came across. We loved all of them!! Our family will definitely be visiting again. It was the best week!!
