Delicious food. We had the Shepard's pie and fish n chips and split the wild rice soup. The Shepard pie was HUGE!!! It was almost the size of a whole pie!! It was hot and delicious! The crust was slightly undercooked but I just pulled it off in those spots. The fish n chips were delicious and crispy! Just visiting the area and am glad I stopped in!

Google
Party of 12 with 6 being under 9 .. waitress / bartender was amazing .. so patient and friendly .. food was spectacular… prices were reasonable .. only issue was a tad warm but honestly didn’t effect the evening! Honestly so happy we stopped it was random on our way to another restaurant! So glad we did !

Google
the food and atmosphere was great. only problem was we ordered the shepherds pie and got the stew. thankfully, I had a hard time choosing either way, and the stew was absolutely fantastic, so we didn't bother asking for a correction.

Stopped in last night for fish and chips and the jumbo shrimp...both were awesome. Shrimp was huge and tasty. Our servers was super friendly and fun. Relaxed atmosphere. Some grandparents were there playing pool with their two granddaughters.Highly recommend Pog Mahone's.

It was a great night for the Anoka Football team to make it to the Bank. Unfortunately, as I was by myself and arrived a little late. It was hard to order, get drinks, and then they lost my food order and I was beyond late arriving and making it to the game. I will eat elsewhere if they continue. The fact they misplaced my food order and didn't offer me anything was disheartening considering my day! 🥺 I was only able to eat two chicken fingers and had to run.

We are from Texas and came up to Minneapolis for a week. Out of all the local restaurants we have been to, Pog Mahone's has been one of the best ones. Sully treated us very well. We will be back here next time we are in this part of the country.

Looking for someplace different and unique to eat, I decided to try Pog Mahone's, an authentic Irish Pub next to U.S. Bank Stadium. Amazing original Irish recipes and friendly service. I enjoyed their infamous Guinness Pot Roast. It was just what I was looking for! Highly recommend!

Google
We tried the coconut chicken fingers and they weren’t too bad. The coconut added a nice touch! Buffalo wings were great!! Good service! It got busy while we were here and one person working but she did awesome!

Yelp
Friendly service, good food, and a solid place overall, but the place wasn't very busy-at-all. I really think it's the lighting. The vibe of a bar and grill gets KILLED with bright lights. Play great music, and keep the lights low. Along with an awesome staff, and good food, this is a winning combination.

Yelp
Um, OK, My wife and sister were at a concert at the stadium and I was picking them up after the concert (AC/DC-yikes not my thing). I intentionally arrive a little early so I'd be able to get them as soon as the show was over. I ducked into this place to grab a beer while I waited and was completely ignored by the bartender and servers. The bartender actually walked right by me without even acknowledging me. Note that there was nothing going on in this place that required his attention. He just went over to the servers and started chatting. After five minutes I gave up and left.

Yelp
Happened to show up on a Tuesday evening about 8 pm, I walked in and asked why the place wasn't busy. I had my answer, 8pm on a Tuesday... Scotched eggs and fish and chips were out of this world, great dinner and experience. The bartender was lights out good and very enjoyable to speak with during our visit. Plan to visit again next time in town.

Yelp
Great spot to grab a cold beer and some good "pub grub". Nothing fancy, just exactly what you would expect from a spot like this. My wife and I were visiting Minneapolis and this place was across the street from our hotel. We wanted a quick bite and a cold beer, and Pog Mahone's checked all the boxes. A small, but quaint bar with plenty of T.V.'s on the wall for sports viewing. Brooke was the only server/bartender working, and we joined a handful of other patrons at the bar upon arrival. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and even though she was the only server, our service was wonderful. They have a nice selection of craft beers, as well as a full bar. The place is literally in the shadow of the massive newer U.S.Bank Bank stadium where the Vikings play, and Brooke commented that this place is jumping on game days. I know from my experiences at places around Wrigley Field that these "game day" restaurants can literally survive solely off the business they do when the home team is playing, but this place was pretty busy for a random Wednesday night. On Brooke's recommendation we split the Reuben Poppers and the Belfast Wrap. The Reuben Poppers were basically like Reuben egg rolls - stuffed with corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese. They were delicious. We got some thousand island dressing for dipping, and they were piping hot - right out of the fryer.... Really good. The Belfast Wrap was also really good. It was filled with tender steak, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes lettuce and a chipotle aioli.. it came with waffle fries.. again, just really good. Pog Mahone's isn't going to change your life, and there's a million places just like this in every city in the country, but they are doing it right. Good food and good service. Don't know if I'll ever be back, but if you're in town and you need a cold beer and a decent sandwich, this place will do!

Rebecca N.

Yelp
The service was slow (not a problem because we had a while) but I think the very nice bartender was left to tend the entire room. The steak salad (forgot the name on the menu) was surprisingly delicious.

Yelp
Very good Irish bar that was across the street from my hotel. Nice menu with all the Irish classics, as well as salads, burgers and other items. Bar is large with plenty of places to sit. Table seating available as well. Lots of TVs to watch the game. Food was really good. I got the artichoke dip and the steak salad. Both were excellent. The beer selection is very respectable with some local beers on tap. The menu has an option for you to order beer for the kitchen staff if you think they did a good job. Only $6. I have never seen that before and thought it was very cool. Service was top notch. The bartender took very good care of me.

Yelp
Pog Mahone's was a recommendation from an employee at the hotel I'm staying at in MN. They had all the sports games on the TVs which I appreciated. The service was great and so was the food. The Reuben Poppers are legit and the sauce takes them over the top. My entree was the Guinness Beef Stew, it didn't disappoint. It's essentially beef stew in a bread bowl. The best part about it, the bread didn't get overly soggy while I ate the stew. Needless to say, I'm full. Good thing I love running, going to need it tomorrow.

Yelp
TOASTING HAPPINESS We drove all the way from Chicago and we needed some dinner. I called over here to find out if the kitchen was still open for food. We found out we had about an hour to order. We rushed right over because we didn't want to be getting dinner from a gas station grocery store. Yes when traveling on the road for work these things can happen when restaurants close early in unfamiliar towns. We also decided to walk because walking on icy snowy sidewalks to a bar in the freezing cold is the safest thing to do. I'm feeling my decision making was influenced by the exhaustion of driving all the way from Chicago plus I didn't want to get back into a car again. The bartender here was really cool. I felt bad that the bar was empty but I'm sure Sunday's are like that around here. They had a great all day Happy Hour on Sunday with $2 off all tap beers. I decided to enjoy a delicious Castle Danger Cream Ale. I don't see many cream ales in America. When I would work in Canada this was my beer of choice. This was before America even started sprouting up local microbreweries. I was very excited to have this beer to enjoy plus we're not that far from Canada, so it's like old times for me again. We were up against the clock for dinner and drinks with the bar closing early. In fact, I think we heard last call which encouraged us to order another round of beer. That last call wasn't the last call because it got extended by an extra hour or two. Luckily a large groups of actors came in after their show and they started drinking up a storm. The bartender was smart to not close down the bar. I never understood bars that would kick out customers who are drinking when they can actually stay open. We were across at the other end from this large group and thanks to them we got our drinking time extended. I think we got 3 more rounds in after our first last call. Now that's something to toast about. The food was good. I wouldn't call it great. It was what I expect from Irish Pub food. I decided to go fish and chips because it just felt right. It was cold and snowy and it seemed like the perfect Irish bar food. The fish was nice and crispy. I wish the batter had a little more seasoning. The fries were delicious and I ordered them crispy and the cook nailed it. I can't stand soggy or under cooked fries. I also had a side salad because I needed to even out my dinner. The salad actually makes all of the fried food healthy. It's a road trip rule. We also had the coconut crusted chicken fingers to start with. Yeah it was a fried food kind of place which totally goes great with some nice ice cold beers. Our bartender was the best. He was on top of it and actually spent time talking to us. I'm are he was bored too with an empty bar. I'd defiantly come back here if I stayed in the area for work again. I'm always a sucker for a good happy hour and it's even better when it's all day event. That gives me something to smile about. Cheers!

Yelp
My son and I had never been here before and went last night before a concert at US Bank Stadium and we were both inpressed by the service and food! Our waitress Madeline was awesome even when the place got very very busy she was on top of her game! I have to also give a shout out to the bartenders - everytime we ordered, our drinks came out quickly through the madness of the restaurant being packed! I have worked in the restaurant business and know the stress but this place has figured out how to make it work during these busy times so kudos to Pog Mahones and Madeline we will be back! P.S. the chicken fingers were awesome

Yelp
The food is good. The beer list is modest. The service is ok. The decor does not suggest an Irish Pub at all. Maybe a sports pub. They also add 3.9% to your bill to cover benefits for their employees. It's ok, but I would not rush back.

Yelp
We ordered and paid for food online. Went to pick it up and management said the online order system should have been turned off. It was not. There was no food. They further offered to then make the food that would be ready in one hour. Very inconvenient and unacceptable way to do business.
google avatar

Jaylen S.

Yelp
We didn't stay. We walked in wanting to watch the gopher game and the bartender refused to put it on. The waitress was nice but she was the only one on the floor so service was slow, not necessarily her fault. The ambiance wasn't great. The food selection was burgers and salads. I wouldn't recommended it

Jill C.

Yelp
Amazing service right as you walk in the door! The food-EXCELLENT! The drinks-AMAZING! The atmosphere-AWESOME! The bartender Zach was always attentive and making sure you were good!

Yelp
Say there for 20 mins without a bartender in a mostly empty bar. Walked out. Zero stars

Smart G.

Yelp
Honestly, I had higher expectations. The environment is that of a normal pub, but the service and the food were really lacking. Scottish Eggs we're good, let's start with that. Then it goes downhill from there. Coconut chicken fingers were tough and over cooked. The blue moon beer didn't taste like blue moon. More like a cheap and watered down ale. The Fulton lonely blonde was ok, but a little More bitter than expected, but I guess I can't count that against them. The castle Danger cream ale tasted exactly like the lonely blond, obviously a mistake by the bartender and wasn't willing to accept it. Ordered the Guinness Irish stew and they were out. Ordered the shepherd's pie and they use the stew to make the shepherds pie. All the rest of the food I tried was basically crap. All in all a poor experience. Zero stars if that was a thing

Yelp
Wow - the sour cream & onion burger was a revelation. Great food, great service and convenient to hotels and the stadium.

Katie G.

Yelp
My husband and I were on vacation and just happened across this place. The food was great! The bartender was very helpful and kind. The music wasn't to loud for lunch. The place was clean!
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
We always stay across the street at Aloft so we usually stop by here at least once during our stay. I like the atmosphere, a good pub to chat in as there's no loud music and it seems to have a neighborhood feel. Decent beer selection with a few local crafts. Food is just ok. Sometimes it hits the spot and other times we are disappointed. The service here has always been quick and friendly and I think the prices are reasonable for the area. One Pet peeve: twice I have ordered burgers here and they have inexplicably added mayo even though it is not listed on the menu anywhere. Now when I order a burger I feel the need to stress "no mayo" and bring up my prior experiences. We shall return here for the atmosphere.

Yelp
We decided to order takeout because I was painting and wanted Sheppard's pie. The menu description sounded very reasonable and appetizing and I changed to the more expensive pie because of it. Cut to the actual food unveiling... See pic... There was no crust, for starters. I might have made a similar effort had I opened a $2 can of soup, the ones that have 3 pieces of overcooked carrots, two Lil chunks of potatoes and 3 dry cubes of boiled beef. The presentation was abysmal and more reminiscent of a public school cafeteria soup cardboard cup. That's all that I was given, ONE cup, this included mostly canned Gravy, the aforementioned facsimiles of veggies and half an ice cream scoop's worth of not terrible mashed potatoes. There weren't enough potatoes to offset the disappointment of seeing my $15 entrée be revealed as $2 worth of pretty high in sodium. Not sure why the Reuben poppers are called that. As they aren't like jalapeño poppers, but Reuben type stuff wrapped in dough and deep fat fried. This was more of a meal in terms of volume and presentation than the Sheppard's "pie". They should forego the salad dressing on the side, as it was obviously the cheapest quality dressing, the kind that comes in one gallon jugs. The Buffalo Mac and cheese was greasy, not creamy and had a coating of sauce, the chunks of chicken were salty and not too spicy. I wouldn't order any of these items again. When restaurants want to stay in business they must make an effort to offer value for money. I can think of better ways to spend $40... Can buy 2 big filet mignons and cook them at home with a nice side salad from Trader Joe's and a baked potato. for Pog's.

Yelp
Classic neighborhood bar- I'd almost call it a dive bar because it's so small but I think because of the area it's in (Mill City) clientele is more of the athletic interest. We went during the Final Four semi-final games so it was packed!! Two of us found two spots at the bar and they were quick to serve and accommodated us well. We ordered two burgers with fries and can't say we had any leftovers. This was not because portion was small (I was stuffed!) but because it was tasty! I ordered the Mac and cheese burger- I was slightly disappointed that it was real pasta noodles and not quite as cheesy as I imagined but still beyond edible. At the same time I was impressed that they made their own mac and cheese, especially for a bar! I ordered a side of waffle fries and THOSE are perfect- crunchy and seasoned like all waffle fries should be. It also can with a side of aioli that paired it all together well. We'll definitely be back to try the other burgers (and you can bet I'm getting a side of waffle fries!). Get here early if you want to watch a sporting event here because it's not a secret that it's a lively place to watch sports. It's walking distance to US Bank Stadium so I'd expect nothing less!

Yelp
The red headed bartender was possibly the worst bartender Ive ever had. Eyore from Winnie the poo would be faster than this guy. The lack of attentiveness and being present was horrible. He acted like he didn't want to be here and that we were a burden to his life. One and done for me!
google avatar

Steve T.

Yelp
Great place, friendly staff only thing keeping it from 5 stars for me is the lack of healthy non-salad options. Conveniently located right across from my hotel, I would return!
google avatar

Brandon H.

Yelp
Food is straight off the food truck, drinks are expensive and weak pours. 2.9% card fee is obnoxious. Wouldn't come back better options available

Brandon D.

Yelp
Would give more stars if I could, Hands down one of the best Pubs I've ever been to. Amazing food, friendly staff and all around great establishment

Yelp
Great service, reasonable price and a good happy hour. Food was good bar food/comfort food, all a bit heavy..... exactly what you'd expect from an Irish bar. Very neeed thE stadium and a great place to have a meal before hand. Very quiet otherwise. Multiple flat screen TVs.
google avatar

Lyle O.

Yelp
Seriously amazing Guinness pour, a nice homey vibe, and competent bar food! Pog's is also beautiful - I'm not sure why an Irish pub has a southwest theme, but it works. The staff are super friendly and attentive too. All in all, it's just a great place to hang out.
google avatar

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Bartender and server for the whole place was not interested in making money for your company. First I order a shot and a beer. Put a $20 bill down and he asks me if I want change? No check or printed receipt. Sketchy? Yeah I think so. Why would you ask someone if they want change if they don't even know how much the check is? I was there for an hour and he was saying how he's going to be closing at 10pm? A customer walks in at 3 minutes to 10pm. We close in 3 minutes. Not hey can I get you something quickly because we are about to close. I was also served a Guinness in a cracked glass. He didn't even use the glass washer on the tap system. I think you can find a better bartender to serve your entire place on a Friday and not skim from your register.

Yelp
Was looking for lunch on an absolutely gorgeous 55 degree mid-February day while exploring the Mill District and we could not have picked a better spot! They highlight their $4 mimosas on the sidewalk board. Walked in and there were very few tables. The owner immediately came over and greeted us, took our drink orders. After perusing the menu I couldn't decide between the pulled pork sandwich and the Belfast wrap, and the owner said they are his two favorites and house recipes...so we decided to get both and do halfsies. BEST decision. The pulled pork was so tender and flavorful, very unique and would highly recommend. I got the sweet potato fries and as always, can never go wrong with those! The Belfast wrap had tender steak and the chipotle aioli gave it just a small kick. We also started with the teriyaki wings, big meaty grilled wings smothered with sauce. Overall great find, I would definitely return!

Yelp
I was super excited to discover a new restaurant downtown on my commute home one night. A group of us walked over here for a mid-day break. Unfortunately, we were here just a tad too early for happy hour. It starts at 3:17 (clever)! There are a number of local beers and after reading all the reviews about the Reuben poppers we had to get a couple of orders. We also ordered an artichoke dip. The general consensus among the table was that the poppers were "ok". They certainly were not what I had expected they would be. They were a lot bigger so I thought they were well worth the money and they had a lot of meat in them (plus) and swiss cheese oozing out of them (plus-plus!!). Someone mentioned sauerkraut but I did not taste the sauerkraut. There was also 1,000 island for dipping. I enjoyed them and would order them again. The artichoke dip was served in a bread bowl with the bread that was cut out, as well as pita slices. It too, was tasty. This quaint Irish pub is located on the lower-level across the street from the Aloft. It has a long table (bar stool height) down the center. There's also a good number of booths, tables, and additional bar seating. I look forward to going back for lunch, and happy hour!

Yelp
Been here like 6 times now, and even brought the parents from western NY. I would probably stay clear of the Rubens, but everything else is exceptional. And my parents approve of the buffalo wings, and they are picky! Also, the waffle fries. :-)

Jalen R.

Yelp
Came into town for the holiday and decided to order a Reuben. While eating i saw a mouse run along the wall and into a hole under the tv to the left of the bar. I was denied a refund after the bartender told me " I didn't show him the rat". Also that "that doesn't mean they're in the kitchen". Would you finish your food after seeing a rodent?

Yelp
My review is solely based on coming here before a Vikings game. With the weather being cold and rainy, we were told by many locals that is a great spot to pre-game for Vikings games. I'm glad we listened as they were right! They opened at 8:00 AM and we arrived shortly after to grab a large table. If we would have arrived after 9:00, we would have been SOL. The breakfast was filling and gave us all a nice base before drinking. I ordered an omelet, bloody and coffee. I wasn't blown away by the food, but it's what you would expect for a sports bar. We came back after the game as we wanted to watch the late afternoon games, but it was standing room only. Overall, a fun experience and the location is in prime time to US Bank.

Yelp
Love this place! But it's way too bright. As much as I love a dentist's office, just turn 'em down... It'll help. Xo

Yelp
We stopped in here for a quick dinner before a concert at US Bank Stadium. Crazy busy as you would expect. It is seat yourself and they don't take names/do a waitlist but it actually went fairly smoothly. I had the coconut chicken fingers. They were honestly some of the best chicken fingers I've ever had. They come with a marmalade dipping sauce on the side that is quite yummy as well. My husband had the bangers and mash. The potatoes were really good. They are very creamy and yet chunky at the same time. The serving size of the potatoes was huge! They gravy was also quite good. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the bangers. They had too much of a "hot dog flavor" and less of a "sausage flavor" that I prefer but this is totally a personal preference. My husband liked them just fine. My cousin ordered the chicken wild rice as a start and she enjoyed that and then she had the chicken buffalo wrap with fries. I didn't try the wrap but she liked it. I did have a few fries and they were pretty good. Overall a good experience especially considering how crazy busy they were! If you need a quick meal before a game or concert I would give this place a try.

Yelp
I came here one late afternoon when the weather was absolutely beautiful outside! The bartender mentioned that they were having a special, of buy one get one, for any drink for the time of day I was there. I noticed the Macallan 18 and couldn't resist! I also ordered the Fish and chips, which I try all over the world! The fish and chips here are awesome! It actually has great flavor, its flaky and fresh and doesn't need anything else. You can if you like, but not needed. This place is going on my Fish and Chips list. The bartender was friendly but not very conversational, so I just sat, watched the game on the large TVS and enjoyed my fish. The place was empty when I came in the late afternoon, but I am sure the place gets very busy later. Great place, and I would come back if in MN again.
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
We just moved to the neighborhood and are so lucky to have this across the street from us. Their fish and chips are better than anything I've had in London and we go there every year. The coconut chicken tenders, bangers and mash, waffle fries, and sweet potato fries are all amazing. Service is friendly and quick as well. I'd give them 5 stars but they charge a fee for credit cards and they discontinued their awesome homemade pickles.

Justin H.

Yelp
My fiancée and I have been to Pog Mahone's twice and both times were spectacular. The food is great, especially the spinach and artichoke dip with pita bread, and they have a great drink selection, of which I recommend the Downeast cider. The pub has been practically empty both times we've gone, at roughly 9pm on Friday, which is surprising but we don't mind, it just depends on the atmosphere you're looking for. The employees have all been nice and accommodating as well, no complaints there. Overall, it's definitely worth the trip and it's always a great experience!

Rodolfo B.

Yelp
Very cool cozy place, great decor, friendly bartender and great comfort food options!!! I had the Blarney Burger w waffle fries....filling, delicious!! Yummy!! Great draft beer selection too!!

Connie A.

Yelp
Burgers were amazing! I had Skol and my husband had BBQ Bacon! They were overflowing with toppings and taste! Multiple napkin meal! And way to many fries to eat. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Great dog friendly restaurant. Strawberry salad is awesome . Great fast service and they delivered to our condo a couple of times.

Yelp
Came in for a quick beverage with a group of friends, right before the fourth of july fireworks down by the arch bridge in Minneapolis. Its a quaint little irish bar with a good selection of local beers and the wings were tasty. Never got a chance to sip on the whiskey, but we did toast to America in shots of fireball. Our waiter was very friendly and fun! If in the neighborhood, I'll be back!

Byron H.

Yelp
Came in for a later lunch. Service was attentive. We sat at a pub style table. We ordered fish and chips and the shepherds pie. Both were fantastic. The fish and chips were a bit greasy but other than that, were most excellent. The atmosphere is nice. With quite a large beer selection, Pog Mahone's could become your new pre/post Vikings game pub.

Hailey B.

Yelp
Very good food and service definitely recommend going there if you're not from around the area. My fiancé and I are staying in a hotel really close to the stadium and this restaurant wasn't too far from the hotel! Within walking distance!!!

Yelp
Nice quaint atmosphere. Tv's to watch sports. I enjoyed the prime rib sandwich. The roll was great and the au jus was perfect. One complaint is that staff is checking their smart phones way too often. It was noticeable. My waitress, the manager, the bartender, all of them were on their phones once every few minutes. My food came up at the window and sat there for about 4 minutes as my waitress was on her phone at the bar, talking to the bartender who was on his phone. Towards the end of the meal my beverage was empty while my server was on her phone. The cook was working his but off, and was finding things to do like clean while not busy, but he was the only one. More attention to service and a no phone unless on break policy would make this place much better. Food great. Service friendly but inattentive.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Fun sports bar, and great service. Fun waitress who was on it and fun to talk to. Good beer selection. However, the food is average at best. Shepards pie was good tasting but the beef chunks were "hit and miss". Some were nothing but gristle, which couldn't be eaten. Another had the fish and chips which were just "meh". The batter wasn't crisp, but rather soft, and didn't have much flavor. Go for a good place to hang out, watch the game, throw back a couple brews, and have the burger and frys....
google avatar

Yelp
Nice place and good service! I came for dinner before a show at the Guthrie. Had the Blackberry Brurger with waffle fries. Excellent! It is a smaller pub but the atmosphere is very inviting. Would definitely come back again.

Yelp
This is exactly what the neighborhood needed. A great pub that is perfectly priced and amazing food. The environment is ideal for watching a game or enjoying a happy hour with friends. The "Rueben Poppers" are incredible. I had them on Monday, had dreams about them on Tuesday's, and went back for more on Wednesday. They are like an egg roll with a grilled Rueben in them. Dip it in the thousand island for a mouth watering treat. The food quantities are very generous and have yet to leave hungry. The staff is very friendly. Two giant thumbs up for this great local watering hole with delicious in house recipes.

Yelp
Sat at the bar for way to long without the bartender acknowledging me. Was hoping to grab a few drinks and food, instead I wasn't even offered a water. With 5 other people sitting at the bar this is embarrassing. I got up and left at the 12 minute mark after the bartender looked at me and walked by for the 5th time without saying hello or asking if I wanted anything.

Yelp
Atmosphere and service is great. I liked the scotch eggs but my boyfriend said his sister can make better hollandaise sauce and the egg made it taste weird. We also got two burgers... one was the skol burger and I don't remember the name of the other one but they claimed it was the best burger in town and we agreed it wasn't even the best burger on the menu.
