My husband and I love this coffee shop. It's so cool. The coffee barista's are so fast , kind and very good at their job! Our coffee was perfect. My husband had a blueberry muffin and I had a carrot cake muffin with cream cheese frosting on top. It was fantastic!

Google
First time to Nashville and we tried the Poindexter Coffee, located inside The Graduate hotel. Instagram worthy decor, lots of seating, very chic :). The food could use some work as it was just ok, nothing special at all, given the prices. My vanilla hot latte was good though. Worth a visit if but only for some coffee and cute pics. 😜

Located in the Graduate Hotel. Hotel lobby prices. Automatic gratuity charged, even on overpriced grab and go items. Took 15+ minutes to get my pastry order (one "berry croissant") which was pretty... but not 15 minutes pretty. Also, as coffee part of order was super fast, those got cold while waiting for it. Coffee (latte) tasted great, but experience not aligned with price level.

This place is absolutely breathtaking when it comes to the beauty and atmosphere and the food was so delicious. I got the biscuits and gravy with an English breakfast tea. Finished it off with a cookie and Mimosa. Loved it!

Google
Poindexter Coffee, a charming spot near my workplace, offers stunning surroundings and friendly staff. While the Lavish Latte was delightful, I was less impressed with the Queen cheese sandwich. The flavorless white bread could be upgraded to sourdough, and I suspect the smoked cheddar might have been absent. At $12, it's a pricey disappointment. For a more satisfying lunch, I recommend Jason's Deli located right around the corner.

This place is so nice and neat, coffee and bagel are great, this also is great for dating lol, you can choose a sofa to enjoy your coffee is so great, Josh was great making the coffee and costumer service in both languages!! He is just awesome!

Google
Stunning location with gorgeous ambience. Never seen a coffee shop like it. Lots of outlets for computer cords. WiFi is fast. Expansive space for people to spread out. I just wish there was easy free parking nearby.

Yelp
Super cute coffee shop located in the Graduate Hotel! Breakfast sandwiches were great & coffee local with a hint of blueberry or such! We enjoyed relaxing and catching up on the news in this shop - plenty of space, colorful and just happy! Service was good as well so thank you!

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Lots of seating, tables with chairs, couches, lounge chairs, it's a great space to sit and chat with friends or find a quiet corner to read or work. They didn't have a lot of seasonal specials, which is something I look forward to when visiting coffee spots. Not a ton of seasonal drinks, they had a Berry Bliss Pumpkin Spice, & Hit the Road Jack (Matcha, cinnamon, & vanilla). I got a pumpkin spice - it was on par for a coffee shop. Nothing special. They also had sandwiches, wine, and some pastries, but I didn't try any of those.

Yelp
My brother and I were in town visiting and wanted to check this place out since it seemed to be popular. The ambiance was great, such beautiful architecture and vibe. It's in the hotel lobby of the Graduate! We got some pastries (cookie and chocolate croissant) which were really good. Then we got an iced mocha & honey/cinnamon latte, both were good too. Mocha was a bit bitter, my brother let it sit for a while after to see what the taste would be like after. The bitterness went away after letting it sit with the ice. Honey/Cinnamon was good, a lil milky but to be honest, it's still really good. I'd def get it again so, no complaints about it. The service was alright. The cashier barista was judging us a lil hard, didn't seem like she was happy to help. We didn't really ask much of her, only asked her what the display pastries were since they looked a bit similar to each other. And her vibe seemed off and I felt bad thinking that I asked a dumb question. But she was treating other customers with such great hospitality so I was confused on why she was a bit rude towards us. The other barista was nice though. One thing I noticed about the place here is that they're not that welcoming, but maybe it'll be different for others.

Yelp
Stopped by Poindexter for brunch, and while the coffee was just okay, the breakfast sandwiches were definitely the highlight--delicious and satisfying. What really stood out, though, was the decor. The place is super cute, with a cozy and charming vibe that's perfect for brunch dates or a casual hangout. If you're looking for a stylish spot with solid food and a great atmosphere, Poindexter is worth checking out.

Yelp
Pulling up to the hotel, I noticed that valet and parking is $28. I came early in the morning so I curbed parked it for $2.43. It's a vibe in here for sure! The make Taco Bell, checkers, and old hotel sign memorabilia look cool. They even retrofitted an old ball gown and turned them into lamps. I ordered the biscuit breakfast sandwich which was delicious and a cappuccino. Coffee is on point. Really nice guys at the counter and look forward to coming back and staying a bit longer to enjoy this vibey space!

Yelp
Stunning place to grab a coffee! The colors and the patterns to go with the natural light pouring into the space make this the instagram morning hot spot. Located in the lobby of the Graduate hotel, makes this more of a destination for the traveler at one of the many nearby hotels or the Vanderbilt student across the street. Straight forward if not lacking coffee menu, standard types of cups in hot and iced varieties. There's a decent little menu of hot items that focuses on biscuits for the breakfast goers. Everything is well executed, but the iced vanilla latte I got for my wife honestly wasn't very impressive. It just seemed like there was not more than a half serving of espresso. Food was tasty and brought out quickly, but I did kinda have to intuit myself that it was my order and pick it up from the counter. Overall it feels like the coffee shop is more like a way to keep people spending a little money while they take in the amazing design and decorations.

Yelp
Coffee shop in the lobby of the Graduate Hotel in Nashville, also known as the Dolly Parton themed hotel. I was staying at the hotel, but this cafe is open to the public. It is an island under high ceilings dripping with chandeliers and kitschy art. They have a La Marzocco espresso machine, and serve a small menu of light fare along with specialty drinks. I opted for one of their specials, a lavender latte, which was delicious. The espresso was nutty and bold, with low acidity, nicely balanced by the subtle floral flavors of the lavender syrup. Creamy, not overly sweet. The staff were genuinely kind, and the ambience is unmatched. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommended.

Yelp
The most aesthetic coffee shop I've ever been to! And the quality goes right along with it. They make their own syrups and the quality is 10/10. Located in the lobby at The Graduate and lots of space to work!

Yelp
A perfect latte and a gorgeous space. I got my coffee to go, but I wish I'd had time to sit down and just enjoy the decor for a while! They also had some food options that looked good. Definitely worth a stop!

Samantha B.

Yelp
The place is absolutely adorable. So bright and pretty! Staff is very nice and helpful. The coffee is great. The food however, is overpriced and very mediocre. Oatmeal is fine but came with a few small bites of apples covered in cinnamon. Not like it's described. The grilled cheese was incredibly boring. Just decent but not good. The biscuit was sad. It says "biscuits" on the menu and it's $7. The guy was kind enough to clarify it's one biscuit and I said that's fine. When it arrived I laughed to myself. Lame. Maybe the takeaway is stick to coffee. Oh and the cookie! Yum.

Yelp
We walked up to grab a coffee while waiting for the rental car company to open and I'm so glad we did. We each had The Dolly latte and it was hands down one of the best lattes I've ever had! It was so delicious that we went back the next morning for another. The Graduate lobby is decorated so cute and the atmosphere just makes you happy!

Yelp
The avocado toast with egg tastes healthy and I also enjoyed the orange juice. This place has one of the most eclectically cohesive decors I've ever seen in a coffee shop. The chandeliers are beautiful and the artsy vibe makes you want to sit on the couches and sip your coffee a bit longer. Professional service from the baristas.
google avatar

Kelli S.

Yelp
The ambiance combined with the most amazing latte made my day. Seriously 10/10 for all of it.

Yelp
Went here to try something different as a Nashville local. It was alright. Not a lot of options on the menu and even then, the selection was pretty basic. I had an iced cuban, which tasted more like your run of the mill iced latte. Not bad, but nothing I'd go back for. The decor was trendy and had a rad lil vibe to it. Though I admit, the number of bachelorette parties streaming through the joint were distracting for any meaningful conversation. Would I go back? No. Would I recommend to an out of town guest looking for a fun girls weekend, yes.
google avatar

Yelp
Quaint and glamorous spot just off the lobby of the Graduate hotel. Imagine Alice in Wonderland and Andy Warhol were the interior designers. Come for the decor and vibes, stay for the food and coffee. Got the biscuit sandwich. Simple and to the point. The biscuit was flaky and light. Got The Dolly (latte with cinnamon spiced condensed milk !) Staff was super laid back. And made the myriad orders look so easy.
google avatar

Pratiksha M.

Yelp
I LOVE this place! The atmosphere is Barbie meets French pastry shop. They have a small stadium-style seating that is made up of a bunch of eclectic couches. The matcha latte was fantastic. It was the perfect place to work from in a Saturday morning. I will say the bummer is that there is not free parking around the area and the parking lot across the street was trying to charge us 20 or 30 bucks for a few hours. We found another parking spot a few blocks away that was 10.
google avatar

Angel S.

Yelp
What a chill spot. We stopped by for Bfast and coffee. The service by the friendly Baristas was on point. The latte was beautifully made, and the food was well prepared and flavorful. If you're downtown chillin in the AM, I highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Located in the airy lobby of The Graduate, you can walk right up to a pencil covered bar and order breakfast or coffee. I kept it easy and ordered the Biscuit Sandwich with bacon. They make it fresh so a small wait and you can enjoy. The staff were friendly!
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Um. This is one of the CUTEST cafés I've ever had the pleasure of stepping in. Not to mention one of the cutest hotels too. There's soooo much seating available. Whoever designed this space did an A+++ job because we had so much fun looking at all the decor. There's also tables available too, so it seems like you can do some work here (we came when it wasn't that busy). After you have some tea, I would recommend going to the bar on the rooftop for drinks / to check out the ambience up there!
google avatar

Caleb B.

Yelp
Dropped in here for a coffee beautiful hotel would love to stay here on my next visit. lobby was truly something special Service was fantastic. Very nice and welcoming.
google avatar

Yelp
This is the cutest little coffee shop! While it's located in a hotel lobby, there's plenty of seating and a relaxed atmosphere. It was busy, but we were served quickly, and impressed by the barista spelling everyone's names right. The coffee was delicious- I had the "Dolly Latte" with cinnamon and sweetened condensed milk.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm a Flight Attendant and was coffee house hopping while on my layover in Nashville and found this coffee house. My latte was one of the BEST lattes I've had in a VERY long time! The foam was as velvety as I get on my layovers in Australia when I get Aussie flat whites. Soooo good! The coffee house is actually in the lobby of the Graduate Hotel and the ambiance is soooo fun! Tons of places to sit and relax or do work. I HIGHLY recommend!
google avatar

Danielle D.

Yelp
Absolutely adorable coffee shop. Lots of coffee choices Plus an entire Cold fridge of cold drinks Plus alcoholic cold drinks. There was also a fridge of prepared foods as well. It is a great space to meet some friends and hang out as well as large tables for workspace with plenty of outlets for your phone and computers. The staff was wonderful and the vibe couldn't be beat. Check it out!
google avatar

Ken C.

Yelp
This is properly the only one coffee shop that open early in the area. It is huge and cozy. I love the open space concept, and ability to do work in the same time. So, nobody will bother you. I also like their biscuit sandwich. The staff was friendly and service was fast. However, I do like to see if they add more option with bakery in the future. You can have a morning meeting and so chill. Also everything is $10 for food and any special drinks is $5+. So, it is not a cheap coffee shop.
google avatar

Jane Y.

Yelp
Made a pit stop for coffee before my trip. Solid coffee and great staff. The decor in the hotel is fun/eclectic and theres a lot of natural lighting.
google avatar

Ahide V.

Yelp
I would say I've never had coffee like this before. It was so good! Had to have it two days in a row. The baristas are so nice, they asked what type of milk I wanted, I didn't want to change anything about the coffee because it was that good! The seating in the lobby lounge is adorable and comfortable, I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
We were in awe to stumble across Poindexter while walking through midtown because it was simply THE CUTEST cafe I've ever been to and every corner of it is so instagram-worthy. The cafe doubles as a hotel lobby and a cafe lounge, and there's plenty of seasonal and caffeinated drinks to choose from. My friend had the spiked cold brew, which was deliciously boozy, and I had the rosemary vanilla iced coffee, which was equally refreshing. A must-see if you're staying in the area.
google avatar

Kurt G.

Yelp
Great spot for breakfast. Really cool ambience. The lattes were quite heavy on the oat milk but that may be a function of the oat milk they used. Overall a good experience.
google avatar

Tim G.

Yelp
Very cute coffee shop with lots of nooks for sitting, clearly created for those who want to hang out for extended periods and post their experience to Instagram. The shop is in the lobby of the Graduate Nashville hotel. It is quite spacious, with a number of seating areas, including comfortable chairs outside. The decor is quirky with a lot of visual impact. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the coffee was very good. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood, whether you want coffee, a little snack, or just some fodder for Instagram.
google avatar

Julia B.

Yelp
Where do I even start?? Poindexter has been our favorite place to get a great cup of coffee and catch up/get some work done for the past year! The staff is very friendly, and the coffee is delicious. After getting your order, you have an endless number of couches to choose around the huge Graduate hotel lobby. I have never been to a coffee shop/lobby more extravagant than this one. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but we have figured out that it has worked best for us to park along the street (in front of Amerigo has some toll parking) and go in. Definitely try Poindexter if you want to get the full Nashville experience and take some super cute pictures!
google avatar

Jared M.

Yelp
#fatjared say...not my favorite. For being in such an amazing location I definitely expected a bit more options than what was served and available. Not bad enough to get below average because the coffee was still good, but there are much more tasty coffee spots than this place. The atmosphere is quite unique. Couches everywhere inside a gorgeous lobby. The shop itself is right in the middle of everything, and as you can see from the menu it is not very big. Pay attention on the food side to what is made to order and what is grab and go. We were going to eat, but due to a lack or options we decided not to. My wife got a latte, which was good but too much milk compared to the really tasty ones we have had before, and I ordered an iced americano. I usually judge coffee places by the cold brew, but they were out which was a huge hit to this review. You have to have cold brew available, plain and simple. I will say the large space, both indoors and outdoors makes for a great opportunity to have some quiet time. With a more full menu and always making sure you have full stock available this review would have gone up. It was good, not great. There is better roasted and tastier coffee, but not a bad experience.
google avatar

Katherine B.

Yelp
Really cool atmosphere and a great place to take photos! However, the espresso was pretty average. Would not be my daily spot for coffee, just not that great tasting. They did have mimosas though and their croissants were alright, slightly over baked but huge! Walk up and order service was fast for Nashville! No complaints just an average coffee shop with really cool atmosphere in a college town attached to a hotel.
google avatar

Mike G.

Yelp
Fantastic coffee and pretty good pastries in a hotel atmosphere with a huge amount of varied seating. The service is also friendly. The ample seating and a cool atmosphere is what really makes it. The only small downside is that the wifi is very hard to access due to their captive portal system that keeps giving errors when you try to login.
google avatar

Alexis C.

Yelp
Service was really good and very fast. Atmosphere is really cute. The food is good but over priced with the quality it's nothing really fancy. The coffee was really good tho. It's also has a boutique feel and is in a hotel lobby.
google avatar

Morgan L.

Yelp
the coffee was great and inside has such a cute vibe!! also they give out these pencils for free which is very unique

Yelp
If you've never been to Nashville before, just know it's basically a Bachelorette's dream. And this spot definitely should be on your list. We were staying around the corner at the Hyatt and I searched on Yelp for a cute breakfast & coffee spot within walking distance we could grab a quick bite to eat and drink before going out on our adventure for the day. This Instagrammable spot is located inside The Graduate and again, is what bachelorette dreams are made of. Right when you walk in, The Graduate is boasting with pops of color. Turn left (sorry if you're Zoolander and can't....) and you'll reach Poindexter. Speaking of Zoolander, this is the spot to get your new default pic taken. I mean, it is where I did it. My husband looooved being my personal photographer for the morning. ;) There's a lot of lounge seating, even a risers seating situation, too, with adorable couches, so plenty of places to sit and enjoy your coffee & pastry. The coffee is delicious and it's kind of cool because you can see right inside where they make they coffee. The food is all prepared in their back kitchen and brought out. I got a croissant and my husband got a biscuit. Everything was tasty. It's not necessarily a sit down coffee spot, but more of a grab and go situation. Again, definitely a cute spot to grab a coffee at if you're staying at The Graduate for a bachelorette party.

EcoVoyager And E.

Yelp
Very cute funky atmosphere. I had the Dolly Latte that had a hint of cinnamon. Was very good. My husband had an iced Mocha which is his go to coffee drink and gave it a rating of 8 out of 10. If you are in the area I recommend this place.
google avatar

Matt H.

Yelp
Popped over here for a coffee from a nearby hotel without a pleasant coffee shop in it's lobby. The setting here is lovely, in the nice, big, airy lobby of the hotel with plenty of seating. The coffee itself was very nice as well,
google avatar

Nate M.

Yelp
Nothing but eye candy and caffeine in this gorgeous hotel lobby coffee spot. Yeah, Poindexter is in the lobby of the Graduate which is home to an eclectic array art work, funky furniture and tons of stuff for the gram. The coffee area is tucked away on the far left side of the lobby and has plenty of tables, chairs and plush couches to sit on and nurse that hangover or get some work done. This is a fully functioning coffee shop and not just coffee cart. Espresso, lattes, ice coffee, teas, and other breakfast beverages are served here. Highly recommended if you WFH and need something new to look at!
google avatar

Lya H.

Yelp
Ambiance is so beautiful, service was quick and matcha lattes were delicious. I started off every morning with a latte and I'll be craving it once I check out!
google avatar

Anne F.

Yelp
I stayed at The Graduate the night before and grabbed a latte from the Poindexter when I was checking out to get back on the road. Service was quick, but I was unsure if I was able to get complimentary coffee with my hotel stay. I thought I had heard that it was available, but then I didn't see any sign or mention of it and completely panicked when it was my time to order. Hello post-COVID social anxiety combined with a lack of caffeine. Both of their seasonal lattes sounds great. I asked the barista which one was sweeter and ordered it iced. I didn't get a strong flavor, it was very tasty! It's a spot I'd return to if I was staying at the hotel for sure. I'd even swing by to get some Instagram pictures, it's STUNNING! However, just for the drinks- nah- this was just okay. I'd rather explore a new spot.
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
Ambiance: A- Spacious, love the artsy wallpaper w colorful butterflies. A little trashy w fast food plaques on the wall. Sun comes through early mornings. Excellent for students with great study options. Coffee: B- No decaf option. Cappuccino was slightly bitter but smooth. Limited bakery items. Service: A- Friendly albeit purely counter. Overall: not bad, but I'm looking for outstanding; so on a short visit, I'll keep exploring.
google avatar

Ellen D.

Yelp
I love going here for a coffee and then taking a walk around centennial park and Vanderbilt! Such a cute little setting to start the day off on a happy note. I love their seasonal lattes, the honey lavender is so tasty and they use Humphrey St coffee which is always amazing
google avatar

Bethany L.

Yelp
The "Queen Cheese" here was incredible! The spicy tomato soup is very flavorful and rich, if you like spicy food you must try it. It paired great with the grilled cheese sandwich. Wish I had the recipe for this soup! I got an iced vanilla latte with extra vanilla and it was very smooth and delicious. Very happy with my meal. Unlike other reviewers, we came around 12:30 and had very quick and friendly service The hotel this shop is in is BEAUTIFUL.
google avatar

Valerie H.

Yelp
We're staying at the Graduate for a few days so Poindexter is a great option for breakfast. The smashbrowns are so good and made to order, the tomato soup is tasty and not too spicy. If you're a guest at the graduate you get a free cup of coffee each morning, kudos for that! The entire hotel, Poindexter included is eclectically decorated and full of character.
google avatar

Jayz P.

Yelp
The staff, the ambiance, and the drinks are on point. You can do work, homework, interviews, visit with friends or take gorgeous photos. Definitely a place to check out if you are in Nashville. You will not be disappointed. I wouldn't try the cheesy grits though. Don't get me wrong, it's palatable but stick to their drinks and eat elsewhere.
google avatar

Chad B.

Yelp
A for atmosphere, B minus for breakfast! An original, colorful twist on Americana adorns this hotel lobby, the space is a converation piece. The juice is good if expensive. The biscuit and breakfast array are average. If you are in the area, it is worth stepping in. I guarantee you have never seen decor like this!
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
So, I came to Poindexter based on raving reviews and it did not disappoint. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and a oat milk latte. The breakfast sandwich came out quick and I devoured every bite of it. So good to the very end! My latte, although very, very good took roughly 20+ minutes. I honestly don't mind waiting, if it's communicated to the guest before hand. Having one barista makes it challenging and I understand that. My advice would just be to communicate to the guests that the wait time for non-drip make take up X amount of minutes. I saw many guests complain and leave without their coffee. Overall, I would definitely come back form the sandwich and coffee, just not during a rush.
google avatar

Alanna T.

Yelp
I stopped in a few months ago when my mother was having surgery since this was the only local coffee shop open. Don't look for a vast Starbucks like menu here. They focus on good, simple coffee. I had their espresso and breakfast sandwich since I needed some fuel while waiting on my mom to finish her surgery. The espresso was strong, just like I like with a little bit of chocolate and toffee notes. I had 2 rounds so it was good stuff. And the sandwich was what I needed. Bacon, egg, and cheese on a biscuit that was flaky and delicious. It was the perfect amount of food and gave me the energy to keep going for the long day. Thank you for your hospitality.
