Point Prim Lighthouse

This review is for Point Prim Chowder house. Priceyness was justified with taste and view. Lobster roll and seafood chowder was very pricey. But when you bite into the buttery lobster roll with thick and juicy lobster, you are fully experiencing PEI. Also when you have hot spoonful of clams, scallops and potatoes from seafood chowder, you are in heaven. Chowder was perfectly seasoned and perfect consistency. My wife and I shared but we were yearning for more. This place was unexpected find by visiting Point Prim Lighthouse. If you are visiting lighthouse, stop by the chowder house.

Great attraction in PEI and one of the only lighthouses you can actually climb up. My family had a wonderful time. It’s not a long visit but still has some great history to it. There are washrooms and a little shop, and a restaurant right beside it as well!

A lovely stop on my trip to PEI. Got to climb up into the Lighthouse and learn about the history. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. And the area is just gorgeous!

One of the bigger lighthouses that you can enter for a small fee of $6. Worth it to see the display of items used during its operation, learn some history and get a nice view from the top. It’s a steep climb though. There’s a small gift shop and a restaurant nearby.

Out of the 5 lighthouses I visited on PEI this one is top of the list. You can pay to tour the lighthouse but we just read the history from the main level. A cute little shop with tons of local art and trinkets. The staff were all super kind and welcoming.

A quiet little spot with lovely coastal views. The lighthouse is well-kept. Not a lot to do besides walk around and take photos, but it’s a peaceful stop if you’re driving through that side of the island.

Beautiful lighthouse area. Well taken care of and decorated. The theme here is red. Red benches and red picnic tables for you to enjoy. Take a stroll along the beach, go up the lighthouse for a small fee, or gaze out over the water. Either way, Point Prim Lighthouse is definitely worth the drive. A very picturesque lighthouse.

Drive out to Point Prim for a visit to the majestic lighthouse! If you're staying in Charlottetown it's only about a 45 minute drive. The lighthouse sits prominently awaiting visitors from afar. The location is beautiful for incredible views. For a small fee, you can climb the steep winding staircase to the top. Just warning you that it is really steep and may not be safe for some. Once you get to the top you can experience the beauty surrounding the area. A visitor like me from a desert area really appreciates the sites along the shore. It was definitely worth the short drive!

A really well maintained lighthouse. It is apparently the first and oldest in PEI. It was operating when we got there keeping the ships away. It was in a nice space with grass surrounding it, which was great because it's been raining all day and we would have been in all the mud otherwise. It's a nice setting and if it were dry there is a red beach you could walk along surrounding the lighthouse. It's about 45 minutes outside of Charlotte town with a lot of nice farmland and quiet scenery. We came to it after going to visit the lighthouse in Murray Harbour which was being renovated when we got there. It was up high and had a view of great red cliffs.

Beautiful spot! For a small fee of $5, you can climb the stairs inside to the top. The stairs are steep and it can be narrow, so be cautious. Going up is easy, but coming down is harder. Definitely worth the $5!
