Four Chicago-Area Restaurant Shutters to Know - Eater Chicago
"Poke & Roll closed on June 25 at 555 S. Dearborn Street. Ownership will open a larger place soon at 5121 S. Harper Avenue in Hyde Park with the same poke, a full bar, and more named 1 Fish 2 Fish." - Daniel Gerzina
I was exited about this new poke n roll place opening by Starbucks. We went in about noon on Friday during lunch. I chose the sushi burrito poke because last summer i went to California tried the sushi burrito and loved it. But this place is worst sushi burrito i ever tried and it's not sushi burrito when the chef hand over me the burrito i was shocked it's like the sushi from jewel stuffed with load of rice and salmon, mango, and some greens. I also was bitting on the ginger was terrible because was so hard and chewy i also can see the root hair. This place was so disorganized because my wife ordered poke and they forgot the salmon inside and she when back to ask for salmon has to wait 10 mins and they just add some salmon cube on top and my wife told me is terrible taste and she would rather go to aloha for much better poke. Finally i paid $16 for sushi roll they come with 1 drink and my wife paid much more because they charge on $3 seaweed salad, $1 tobiko and $1 on avocado . The ingredients are limited 3 kinds. Over all the worst experience by far. I DO NOT recommend people to try, unless you want have same experience than me.

Fast, friendly, and a large portion of poke! Salmon with spicy mayo, seaweed salad, edamame, furikake, black sesame seeds, and cucumber was delicious!

Very good portions, plenty of tuna:) cons that there were no predefined menu options. When I got to chose myself, it did not become very tasty :/

Food is hit or miss. Sometimes you'll get amazing poke other times it's mediocre at best. If there is more than one person ordering it'll take a while. To get. If it's empty food is quick. It is definitely getting better owner seems pretty green and seems to be learning. I'll give it another shot I'm a month or2

Have had poke several places around the country and this place is as good as it gets. Most importantly very fresh fish and broad range of veggies/authentic toppings, generous portions and super reasonable price. Must try!

Tried this place last night. Made two bowls with some help from the person on staff. Asked for sweet/spicy and he suggested mixing ono sauce with a spicy sauce. Turned out great with both salmon and Tuna. My only thought was that it was surprising that there were no pre-made options. Person on staff (20171211 night) was friendly and helpful. Will continue to go.

Good portions and lots of customization options. For a bowl you can select the protein, the base, as well as add-ons and the type of sauce. Definitely one of the more unique options in the area. Staff is very friendly and willing to help!

No sugar added fresh squeezed juice was very tasty. I got the small poke bowl with ahi tuna, seaweed salad, avocado all the ingredients were so fresh and delicious. Welcome addition to the neighborhood!
