Coolgreens Will Open at Richardson’s CityLine Development - Eater Dallas

"Apparently, Pokemon fervor has not died down — a bar devoted to the anime empire is headed to the Dallas area this January, reports GuideLive. The Poke Bar is embarking on a tour of North America and Europe with food, booze, interactive games, and “card battles” in tow. Tickets range $35 to $55 per person in other cities with a Pokemon-themed burger and drink included. No word yet on how much it will cost to gain access to the in-person Pokemon experience in Dallas, but those interested can check out the pop-up’s website for updates." - Alaena Hostetter

I thought the poke bowl was pretty good considering we’re not that close to the ocean and it’s a “fast food” place in a strip mall. My husband didn’t like the masago that came on his bowl and therefore didn’t eat much of his bowl. This is one of those place we’ll go to when we’re really craving a poke bowl that’s pretty good and not great. There was one person working who was nice and spoke enough English to know what we were asking for.

Victoria Thomas

Google
My family eats here all the time, and we love it! Fast, healthy, affordable food. One bowl can even be two meals sometimes. Staff is super friendly and nice. We go here as a fast food replacement because it’s super quick and easy. We always order their set bowls, but you can do a make-your-own option too. They even have a bulgogi beef bowl that the one on Lemon doesn’t, so if you don’t like seafood there’s still something you can get.

Google
Stopped in for lunch at Poke Bop on Abrams Road with my wife. We both tried bowls with their vinegar-based sauce, but unfortunately, neither of us cared for it. I suspect the experience might be much better with a different sauce, so I’m still interested in giving it another try. Service was excellent—our server was polite and kind—and the ambiance was casual and clean. Portion sizes were satisfying. Overall, a decent spot, but next time I’ll explore different sauce options!

Google
The employee taking my order did a good job. Unfortunately the food was below average and the location itself was dirty. The employee working in the back came out to the general area and respectfully I thought he was homeless. Not well groomed, dirty etc.

Google
Ive ordered the spicy Tuna Bowl and Classic Poke Tuna Bowl. They have boba smoothie Taro drinks. They have alcohol drink on sale 2-6pm 50% off. The staff are very perfessional and friendly. Place small and clean. Everything tasted delicious and i love it!💗🌹👍💯

Google
We really like it here and they are super fast in service! We had crazy king Kong, Poke bop classic and miso ramen. The flavors are amazing and everything is super fresh. They put a good amount of sauce unlike some other places that seem to skimp on the sauce. My reason for 4 stars is I never get full here, I don't know why the portion size seem similar to other places. I don't think I get as much salad as other places. The employees are really nice and helpful!

Google
Stopped by on a whim - this place is GREAT. Quality was excellent, staff were polite and friendly, and the variety of choices were amazing. They have beer, wine, and sake as well. They also do Boba Tea! They have the machine for it and everything. Inside is very clean and the decor is fun. Drop by, have a bowl, enjoy!

Google
So fresh! Hidden gem! Love that they offer pineapple - I love combining it with the cilantro. Generous portions and sweet, friendly staff!

Yelp
It took me a visit or two to really appreciate this place. From the outside and interior ambiance, it's not much to look at and I've never seen people inside eating. It's a pickup and go kinda place. But you know what, I came in to pick up and go, so I don't know why I even care about the clean but kinda boring ambiance. What I do care about is the poke. And I'll tell you what, this place is the best in the area. It has all the regular poke choices - tuna, salmon, shrimp (spicy or plain) and tofu for the vegans. The fish is fresh, tasty and given in generous portions. I'm so over poke places that give tiny spoonfuls of fish and lots of everything else. This places portions are generous and more than fair. For the prices they charge and the freshness of the fish to the quiet and efficient service, this place beats anything around. I'm tired of paying restaurants entree prices for a poke bowl. $16 and you get three generous portions of protein. The bowl is so big I can make two meals out of it. It's a great deal in comparison to almost every other poke place within 10miles. I should know, my kids LOVE poke and want it as often as possible, so we've tried a lot of places. This is our go to. Please give it a chance!

Anna Claire B.

Yelp
Our favorite poke place in town! Service is fast and the people working there are always so kind. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
The service was awful, wasn't greeted when we came in and kinda rushed along.. it's our first time here so a explanation of the menu or sauces would've been appreciated.. 0 conversations was made or attempted to talk about anything .. just next next. And the ambiance we'll forget about sitting here, all they do is make you uncomfortable. It's a shame cause the quality of the food is good, but the crab (extra) most places it's not. The fish taste fresh! And has a lot of flavor

Yelp
I was giving this place a try again after 2 years. Last time I ate here, I was up sick all night. I ate a few things so I don't know for sure it was here so I figured I'd give it another shot. Walk in and an older gentleman (I think he's the owner) walked out from the back, rinsed his hands with cold water for about 5 seconds, no soap, started putting gloves on. Obviously that's not washing your hands (google correct hand washing procedure for a restaurant) i called him out of it and said no thank you and started walking out the door. If they aren't washing their hands correctly in front of customers, they definitely aren't washing them properly, if at all, when they're in the back prepping all of this RAW food. That's how you get people seriously sick
google avatar

Joel B.

Yelp
Not the best poke in town IMO but always enjoy. A little too much focus on all the extras versus having the very best quality basics. That said, my family enjoys the speedy takeout and delivery from here often.

Isabelle E.

Yelp
I order poke quit often and it's easy to please me. However when I ordered this bowl it was DRENCHED in mayo. Never in my life would I consider mayo on a poke bowl. I can't even believe it's an option. Genuinely worst poke of my life. SOAKED in mayo. And gross mayo too. Mixing it in didn't help. Showing kid for reference that the entire top of the bowl was covered in mayo. I literally couldn't even take a second bite.

Andrew W.

Yelp
Great portion sizes! Owner is super nice and friendly. High quality & delicious. Our go-to poke spot.

Yelp
The sushi and poke bowls are to die for ! And the boba is amazing . I love when a girl that has black hair (she's been working there for a while now ) does my sushi and boba because some of the other workers usually do them a bit off but it's still amazing
google avatar

Brigitte K.

Yelp
Good poké location in the Mockingbird Ln area. They also offer chicken, most places don't, shrimp, garlic shrimp, argula, and green tea rice. Bowl was a nice size, and lots of toppings, sauces, and crunchiness to choose from. My favorite was the garlic aioli and sriracha aioli sauces. Drinks, they have sake, wine, and boba drinks to choose from. Spacious inside and clean location
google avatar

Nate B.

Yelp
The two guys that were working today were very friendly and really good at what they do an excellent at customer service. Very good food at a reasonable price and if you live in the area or around one of their locations I would highly recommend trying it. They Boba tea is extremely good.
google avatar

Matt P.

Yelp
Local poke spots make for a great lunch date, in-person or takeout. The inherent "healthiness" makes the scarfing down of all the spicy mayo less guilt-inducing. All joking aside, their sushi burritos look as awesome as they are crafted. I gotta get my hands (and my mouth) on these pronto!
google avatar

Yelp
This is my first experience going into this store I just happened to be in the neighborhood. I've always loved poke bowls, but I've never actually been to a store that has them or makes them. I usually get them from Kroger for $7 and they're good but not near as good as what I experienced that Poke Bop!! It was so good and I will definitely be coming back here as soon as possible. I just wish they had one closer to me in Garland.
google avatar

Diana D.

Yelp
This is a great poke place with lots of options for building your own bowl, as well as a nice variety of Signature Bowls on the menu. My favorite is tuna+salmon+brown rice with lots of add ins (cilantro, ponzu, edamame, sesame seeds, onions, cucumbers, avocado and mango). Not a fan of raw fish? They also have chicken, shrimp and tofu. Everything is fresh and tasty!
google avatar

Amy D.

Yelp
Giving a 5 as a take out place because I love their bowls.. but I'd love it if they'd lay off the fabuloso cleaner because the smell is horrible.

Luciana V.

Yelp
Honestly, while the food is ok, the service and price make it not worth it. I got a regular sized bowl (vegetarian) and added avocado. It costs me $1.50 to add a quarter of an unripe avocado to my bowl. In total, my bowl costs $17 before a tip. To me, that is quite steep for a glorified salad that doesn't entirely fill you up.
google avatar

Nick T.

Yelp
First time trying poke Bop and I purchased Satoshi Spicy Tuna. I have to say, it tasted great. I would buy it again. Only one negative thing I have to say is the portion size, I was still hungry after finishing the whole bowl. For $11.95, I expected more.
google avatar

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
First time trying out this location. We normally go to the Lemmon location. Poké Bop perpetrually disappointed me. Ordered takeout and they didn't put the sauce on the side. The salad was swimming and liquid spilled all over the outside. Their "squid salad" is sliced octopus, definitely not squid. The "sweet onions" were raw red onions, which is supposed to be pickled red onions. The shrimp is minuscule and super overcooked. The salmon is so watery and broken down, it's like it was frozen and thawed multiple times.
google avatar

Zain K.

Yelp
Still haven't had a five-star poke experience here in Dallas, but this came close. Not as many protein options as some places, but decent variety in terms of other toppings, and everything is fresh and tasty. Sauce-wise, I think the house poke and ponzu sauces combine well (tip: you really only need half-portions of each before things get a little too salty/sweet). My only knock is the price, mainly because there seem to be more up-charges here than at other places, so the cost can get a little steep if you're not careful. Still, this is my go-to poke spot in town at the moment.
google avatar

CR J.

Yelp
They didn't have as many options for toppings as the Lemmon Ave. location. The employee who helped me through the line threw my food together in the bowl which I didn't appreciate but of course- it still tasted the same. but my portion of rice was wayyyy more than the meats. Also, it was just all so incredibly dry. I think they were running low on sauces and started to get a little skimpy with their portion sizes. It had just the most horrendous smell outside that creeped it's way inside that made me and my party pack up and go. The great thing about this location is that they offer snacks/goodies and boba tea. But the taste really isn't there. Everything tastes a little rushed and cheap. Maybe there's something in presentation, and this place just didn't have it.
google avatar

Andrea J.

Yelp
This is the second location of Poke Bop that I have been to. This one is bigger inside with more seating than the Oaklawn location. I love their green tea rice and the toppings selection. I'm a little disappointed that when I asked for mango on my bowl, they did not tell me there would be an upcharge (there is also an upcharge for avocado, which my friend got). I feel like you should ask people just to make sure they are aware/ok with it. Also, one of the people behind the counter was on the phone the whole time he was helping me. I felt like I was interrupting him, but there was another worker there that could have served us. It was a weird experience, but the food is good enough that it won't deter me returning.
google avatar

Roscoe S.

Yelp
Decided that I better try one of these Poke things that are suddenly popular around here. The place was clean, well-lit and empty when I walked in about 7:30 this evening. I told the person behind the counter that I had never had poke but that I had reviewed the menu online and had ingredients selected for a 'build-your-own-bowl'. I read my list to him and asked that if it didn't sound right to him, to let me know. He gave me no useful feedback which probably means one of two things: a) he wasn't interested or, more likely, b) there are no wrong answers. My order was a 3-protein bowl: brown rice tuna, shrimp, chicken scallions, kaiware, pickled ginger, hijiki soy sauce garlic chips The components all seemed fresh. It tasted like each of the items, individually, that were in the bowl; there was no melding of flavors. Maybe it all comes together better with one of the aioli- based sauces? It was, overall, OK. I'll likely try poke again sometime, somewhere for comparison purposes.

Yelp
Man o man am I happy I hopped on my Yelp! app and found this GEM!!!! The gentleman behind the counter was AMAZING!!!! He gave me the PERFECT suggestions and made a great accommodation for me since I was torn between their white rice and kale noodles ! BOTH WERE AMAZING!!!!!! The spicy tuna hit the SPOT!!!!! I will for sure be back for more and to try their tea!!
google avatar

Erika O.

Yelp
Like that they keep tuna in pieces verses a mush texture but the pieces could be a little more bite size. Try the green tea rice!
google avatar

Karl K.

Yelp
The poke bowl was very good, very fresh, made my way. Yes, there is an upcharge for mango and avocado and it was not disclosed, but that doesn't bother me. The boba tea was not good - very weak, boba was old and breaking apart. My advice, skip the boba and get the bowl. Overall, the food was good, not the best, but I will come again. And, I'll skip the boba tea. D
google avatar

Lindsay T.

Yelp
Meh. I popped in for lunch at noon on a Wednesday. No line, but I still felt rushed by the person making my bowl. They skimp on the portions so your bowl is only 2/3rds full. I don't think I'll be back since there are loads of other Poke places around that have better service and portions
google avatar

Deana K.

Yelp
The poke was very good but the service was unfortunately slow. I would recommend ordering ahead!
google avatar

Tracy B.

Yelp
I have been to the Lemmon location several times and got to stop in here last night. Same great flavors, same fun guys! I usually build my own bowl with green tea rice, double spicy tuna and all the other yummy toppings. My favorite topping is the squid salad. For the sauces, I love spice so I get the wasabi aioli and Korean bimbim. This location is great because they serve bubble teas and frozen drinks!! Yummy! The frozé is delicious! Please bring it to Lemmon for the summer!
google avatar

Marnie S.

Yelp
I made my own bowl. Cured salmon, green tea rice because regular rice was not an option, garlic aoli. I was disgusted. The Green tea rice had an odd flavor to it lemony was lime green and the flavor did not mix well with add ins in my bowl. The cured salmon was fishy, smelled fishy tasted fishy and was overly salty. Let me say, I LOVE cured fish. I MAKE cured fish and buy cured fish so I am no novice to this method of fish preparation, this particular cured fish was just not good.
google avatar

Rebecca O.

Yelp
This place is awesome and all of their ingredients are super fresh! All of the staff is extremely friendly and professional. I also really like how they go 'Poke Pokeeeeeee' every time someone walks in the door!
google avatar

Rachel T.

Yelp
I will start off by saying the food itself was delicious and tasted fresh and as expected. My issue is that the restaurant attempted to upcharge me through Uber eats saying I "requested a bigger size" which I did not. I ordered and received a regular size order but they attempted to charge me an additional $7 for no reason. I had to submit a ticket through UE and go back and forth several times via email to get it sorted out. Not sure what they were trying to pull, maybe someone thought that I wouldn't notice. Not cool.
google avatar

Alida R.

Yelp
This poke place is vegetarian/vegan friendly! They have tofu as a standard option for build your own bowls, as well as a pre-set tofu bowl. The tofu is either raw or barely cooked, which isn't great on its own, but sort of mimics the texture of raw fish and tastes fine if you put sauce on it. Not the way to introduce tofu noobs to tofu, though. However, it's not the most user friendly if you've never been before. My mother-in-law clearly asked for quinoa and was given kale, and didn't realize until her bowl was completely ready. Also, the people making our bowls didn't ask us if we wanted any toppings etc.; I was the only one in my group of three who got any, because I looked at them listed on the menu and specifically requested them. My bowl wound up being about 40% bigger than my companions, simply because I asked for more stuff! So if you build your own bowl, don't be shy about it. There's a vegetarian burrito on the set "pokerito" menu that includes both fresh and fried tofu. I didn't see fried tofu on the build-your-own-bowl line, but maybe you could request it?

Yelp
We still love this place. My family has been eating here at least twice a month since they opened years ago. Since covid started, we order it delivered and I've been impressed with them getting our complicated orders correct. Thank you Poke Bop for being a great, locally owned option in our neighborhood for fresh, healthy, fast food.

Ryan L.

Yelp
Based on the rest of the reviews I read on this place I thought it would be worth a try. Oh boy, was I wrong. Picked up a little past 6:30 on Friday and had consumed by 7:30. By midnight both my wife and I had the worst food poisoning of our lives. And I'm talking horrific, I'll let you fill in the details, but as bad as it gets. Note, we've eaten street foods all over the world, including downtown Mumbai.. It's now Sunday at noon and we're just now starting to feel relatively human. Again, could have been just a bad night but good luck to those who dare ordering the spicy tuna.
google avatar

Victor B.

Yelp
My favorite Poke place.... for sure. But it is a little expensive tho... The green tea rice is one of my favorite things from this place.

S R.

Yelp
I was hesitant to order due to some of the reviews but I'm glad I did. I loved the food. Service was fast. I ordered delivery. It was estimated to be 35-55 minutes but I received it in less than 20. I loved the food! I had the poke bowl with chicken, green tea rice and some add in's. It was delicious. Price range is about what I typically pay at other Poke places (however, crab is considered an extra add on here instead of counting as a protein so it costs extra). I will say the green tea rice as some reviewers noted may not be for everyone. My mother didn't care for it. But I loved it. I can see how some reviewers noted the green tea rice didn't mix well with their sauce flavors. I found it went well the garlic aioli. I loved the boba tea too. Price wise it was about $35 for the two of us not including the delivery and service fees. I would order here again!
google avatar

Yelp
Poke Bop is the go to poke place for my friend and I. They have such a huge variety of ingredients that anyone can get something they like here. I especially like that they have quinoa as an option for a base, so that even people who are trying to be low carb have an alternative to rice. They even gave a kids' poke bowl and rolls as well. I've never had a bad visit here. The food is always good, and so is the service. The restaurant is clean and roomy with plenty of seating, and the location is so convenient. One minor complaint is that they do charge for some things that other poke places do not. Otherwise, I highly recommend Poke Bop to both first timers and poke snobs because they have sometime to accommodate everyone's taste.
google avatar

Kelsey S.

Yelp
I was not really impressed with this poke place. I have been to another before which now sets my standards when going. I got a bowl and it was not very filling at all, especially for the price. They do not give you a lot of meat which is something they should do. The other poke place I have been to gives you so much meat and that might be what I like best about it. Also, it was kind of bland. There was not much flavor to the bowl. The employees did not seem very interested in helping me either when I was there.
google avatar

Walt M.

Yelp
Very good. SUPER clean new place. Fresh Average price. Happy hour weekdays from 2 to 6 PM has 50% off beer wine and sake. I also like the way they welcome you with "Poke' pokeeeeah!" And thank every customer.
google avatar

K K.

Yelp
Fish was really nice. Rice isn't my favorite. Wish they had plain steamed rice. Tons of veggie choices. Very fresh. Lots of sauces to chose from as well. All in all a very good American Poke place.
google avatar

Monty C.

Yelp
Fresh and I'm a fish snob..generous portions and the two 20 yr old guys that work here are professional, courteous, and just excellent if I were these guys boss I would be super proud ..but ..they probably own the place they are that good !
google avatar

Shannon M.

Yelp
LLLLLOOOOOOVE Poke Bop. We're obsessed! However, it's not the same without you, Chef Tommy. Ever since you left to open your other store service has gone WAY down. No one says your signature "Poke POKAAAAY" when you walk in, the guys at the counter are not the same, happy crew that they are when you're there and the store is not as tidied up and clean like it was when you were onsite. COME BACK!!! About to go pick up my next order for our office. Hoping to see happy, helpful employees when I walk in. Maybe they'll even have their earbuds out of their ears and be attentive - they have not been the past 2 times and it pains me to even say that. You definitely deserve 5 stars and I'll hopefully be able to add that star after pick up today. Fingers crossed!
google avatar

Anthony A.

Yelp
What a great add to this area. I have been going to the other location for months and when I found out they were opening up one in my area, I was totally excited. This Location is much bigger and it has more choices. They have miso soup and to my delight, margaritas....Or some other mixed drink. The menu is the same and the customer service is top notch. One must try any Poke Bowl but I prefer to make my own with the two different marinated Tuna's and marinated Shrimp. You have to add the crab and all the other fixins which include fruit, veggies, nuts and all those special sauces. This is a must try spot and will be a boon for the area. Great POKE
google avatar

Alice T.

Yelp
I like Poke Bop, but a lot of their employees lack good hygiene practices so I can only imagine what happens when they are cutting stuff up in the back. It defeats the purpose if you barehand touch the part of the glove that'll come into contact with food when you're putting the gloves on. Also touching the iPad with gloves on and then touching the food. Dumb. I won't be back. Don't want to get sick.
google avatar

Ellie R.

Yelp
Good, blended frozen boba drink. Nice, chill atmosphere. Friendly service. The tapioca balls were not quite steeped long enough, but still delicious.
google avatar

Markell A.

Yelp
This has gotta be one of my fav go to spots now! Granted I always order it to my work of uber eats but seriously so delicious! Have had the poke bowls but today I tried one of the sushi burritos... OMGAWWWDDD ! Always gets to me quickly and is always delicious
google avatar

Liz H.

Yelp
Employee on his phone was more worried about playing a game than anything. Rushed through making it while still looking back at his phone, which was out on the counter. Glove on one hand (had it on when I walked in, and was using gloves hand on dirty phone) and other hand bare. Come on dude.

Carlos M.

Yelp
Placed and mobile order ahead of time . When I arrived to pick up the girl running the stand looked confused and asked "if I was sure I had placed a mobile order " she then looks at her screen and realized she never processed the order. She was busy flirting with a gentlemen that was standing there I'm assuming for a while because he was there after I left . She thens hurries and complete my order fast with bo care about the quality of my order. When I got home the order was not correct things were just thrown all over . They need to pay more attention to all customers . 5/24/22 7:30 pm

Yelp
Friday night, neither wants to cook or even make a decision of where to order from due to exhaustion. Feed me! I'm hangry! I narrow it down to sushi or Thai and hubs chooses Poke Bop. It ain't fancy looking, and resembles a Salata in how you can get your bowl. And just like Salata, delish! I did the BYOB and the crunchy garlic on top is still making me smile. If you want Tei Tei, then go there. If you want good fresh food that is "fast" this is a great quick fix.
google avatar

Scott C.

Yelp
Food was fresh, the Sushi tastes great. my little girls love it. You feel good after eating a bowl.. I highly recommend.
