I was in the mood for poke about a year ago and decided to check this out for lunch. So glad I did I’ve been coming to this poke lunch spot ever since. It is a hidden spot in St Claude. The staff is always friendly and the poke is fresh. I tried the Kinda Hawaiian with the wonton chips. The mango and tuna was fresh. Definitely coming back.

Google
such a cute place! a little bit off the beaten path i think, but worth a stop. food was delicious, maybe a touch overpriced for the quantity, but i think the quality balances it out - fish seemed pretty good quality! staff was super friendly too and it was easy to substitute whatever i needed to in my bowl :)

Google
Cannot say enough great things about Poke Chan. Probably the best poke spot in the city. The food is always fresh and delicious. Presentation is great. They try their best to source as locally as possible (e.g. the tofu from the West Bank that is phenomenal). The cooked dishes are also great. The wafer ice cream sandwiches are worth the visit in itself. Beyond all of this, the staff are the nicest people possible. The girls there couldn’t be sweeter, especially with kids. I’d give this place 10 stars if I could.

Google
I had a very spicy poke bowl from this place I mean, it was very spicy; but despite the spiciness, it was the best poke bowl I have ever had in my life. I will not be getting it with whatever spicy sauce it came with next time though because the following morning I woke up, went to the bathroom, and straight up POOD. 32 minutes of pain, contemplation, and regret. It was well worth it though. Eating here was truly a humbling experience and I cannot wait to go back 🫡

Google
Pretty tasty poke spot with a large variety of cooked options as well. Tuna was a bit oxidized and had lost a lot of color when we came but flavors were decent.

Google
This place is absolutely solid for the price point. The food and sauce is fresh and delicious. The large bowl is proportional to the price and quality. They are no longer BYOB as they now have their liquor license. They have vegetarian and vegan options available. I can personally say the fried tofu is great in texture and taste. Get the spiced bean sprouts added to your bowl! I will definitely be going back again... And will try to get a picture before digging in.

Google
The best pokebowl I have ever had! All the ingredients were so fresh. Y'all.. The tuna, the mango.. I literally just left and I'm already planning my next visit. Friendly and super fast service. (Side note that does not take away from how great this place is- I also order the chicken karaage. It needs a little more spice and I wish it was smaller bites so it would be easier to eat.)

Google
As a recent New Orleans transplant who’s lived in New York and Houston, and traveled to poke hotspots like Austin and San Francisco, I can confidently say that Poke Chan is hands down my favorite poke spot. The fish is always incredibly fresh, and the combination of sauces and vegetables pack a flavorful punch with every bite. What truly sets Poke Chan apart is the energy and warmth of the place. The service makes you feel like you're at home, and the atmosphere has this calming, peaceful vibe that makes you feel like the world is good—especially when you're far from family and friends. It’s the perfect blend of quality, taste, and genuine hospitality—the place is a New Orleans staple and must try.

Yelp
One of the better poke options here in Nola! For those from Hawai'i the fish kind of reminded me of Foodland. I wouldn't recommend putting mango on a poke bowl but at least they're honest with the "kinda Hawaiian" bowl name haha. The karaage don actually stood out to me. It's the first time I've had karaage chicken here and it was very reminiscent of home. I would have opted for the sauce on the side next time so I can easily save leftovers because the portions were massive! The takoyaki was also very tasty and hit the spot. Dessert is limited which is a bummer but the taiyaki was great. We came on a Saturday night and the place was empty which was shocking to me! I will say the location is a bit inconvenient because there is only street parking. I'd still recommend giving this place a chance!

Yelp
Yes poke-chan! One of my favorite places to go! It's in a very discreet location so it's kinda hard to find however it's one of the best spots in New Orleans. We ordered the karaage don and it's delicious. You can customize your own bowl but we decided to get one of their own. Kaarage is a Japanese cooking style mostly for chicken and it makes the meat juicy and crunchy. The portions are definitely filling, I ended up bringing some home! 10/10 would come again!

Yelp
Delicious and fresh. Paper sushi-style menus make it easy to order (I have def been intimidated by Poke places before). Nice staff.

Yelp
My primary concern for poke is fresh ingredients, and poke-Chan always delivers. Their fish is always fresh, their sauces are flavorful, and they have a wide range of ingredients. They generally have lots of seating room so great to eat in or take out.

Yelp
Best poke in the city. I highly recommend the raw bowls they have on their list and not make your own. I'm so happy they came back after the pandemic because I absolutely love this place and the portions are substantial.

Yelp
With just one visit & one bowl devoured, I'm well on my way to obsessionville with Poke-chan! I'm a lover of all things bowl, from açai to bun to bi bim bop to burrito. Believe it or not, I had yet to try a poke bowl because I figured they were more oriented to raw fish lovers and being that I'm vegan, I couldn't imagine anything too exciting going on (a bowl of raw veggies... isn't that just a salad? WRONG!) They had me at the get-go where you fill your form out. I have very specific needs and get hellannoyed when, say, the sauce or the nuts or the avocado is left off whatever bowl I've ordered. And it's inevitable because human error is more the norm than the exception in New Orleans. I think there were roughly a dozen different asks on my form and all were executed as desired. They allow for your bowl to be served over rice or greens. I went with the latter and loaded that baby up with fried tofu, wakame, nori, daikon, marinated bean sprouts (one of the most delicious things I've ever put in my mouth), macadamia nuts (nice Hawaiian touch!) and a bunch of other things that give justice to the over-used phrase, "party in my mouth." This might have been more of a blow-out celebration! All of the ingredients are super fresh (my guy confirmed the same of the raw fish) and generously arranged in the bowl. I'll be honest. I was regretting not ordering the large for $2 more (I'll be honest. I almost ordered a second bowl to go) because it was so damn delicious! Environs is a cozy, transformed shotgun with plenty of seating and a really nice back patio that will be enjoyed in weather that is not over 90 with even higher humidity. I'll be back in less than a week. Not kidding.

Yelp
I've been 5 times and they have been rock steady. Just happened to stumble on them searching for poke near Mid-City. Always the freshest fish and veggies, great sauces, wonderfully helpful service. All the Signature bowls I've had were delicious.

Yelp
I lost my Poke virginity here and I will treasure the memory until I die! Menu is pretty straight forward just pick what you want either raw or cooked and the friendly staff will bring it to you once ready. I had the one with the pork belly and raw egg and it was delicious. I also tried the octopus balls and they were amazing!!! I will definitely be back for more.

Yelp
Very happy to discover this place, having recently moved here and realizing I'm in the middle of a healthy food desert. The people working here were very welcoming and helpful, and the food was really healthful and satisfying for a modest cost. I will be back often.

Yelp
I came here for the first time last Sunday around 8:30 for dinner. It was somewhat empty, and had a cute little setup. They have laminated slips you can fill out with dry erase markers upon entrance for the build your own bowl option, otherwise there are signature bowls on the wall menu behind the work station. I did the BYOB of course, with the large bowl which comes with three scoops/ proteins. I really loved that they had furikake and togorashi seasonings for the rice/ bowl. I was given a number at the register after payment and the food was brought out to me shortly after. The first thing I wanted to try was their sushi rice, because that's one of the biggest factors that can make or break a good poke bowl. The verdict: their sushi rice is amazing, and they definitely know what they're doing! I tried some of the fish alone to taste for the sauces, and they could definitely use some work as they were lacking some flavor. Fortunately, you can always ask for extra sauce for your poke, although I just squeezed a ton of extra srirachi on mine. I enjoyed my poke bowl from start to finish and no food was left behind. Of course it is a bit pricey, but the value is great and you get amazing portions for the price you pay, unlike the surrounding competitor *cough*. And you can't forget about the good service they provide. Next time, I'll be back to try the takoyaki and the fried chicken along with one of the specialty drinks! I'm also wanting to try my poke bowl with wonton chips instead of rice.

Yelp
I've been holding off on writing a review for this place. Only because we've eaten here multiple times and every time was a different experience. First visit was great. We met the owners and everyone was so helpful and accommodating. Their suggestions for sauce choices were on point. Food were delicious and fresh. Second visit was ok. This time my salad tasted dirty, as if it wasn't washed and prepped before serving. I did saw the guy open a bag and dumped it in. I'm sure a lot of businesses do this as well but maybe we just had a bad batch? I don't know. It threw off my entire meal. I ended up having to pick around it. Third visit was better. I wish I remembered which combination of sauces I created the first time. Pretty sure I've tried every sauce they offer. Overall, nice place. Clean setting and bright, open space. You can either build your own bowl or choose one of their specialties. Love the freshness of the seafood. So far the best poke we've had in the city.

Yelp
This'll be long. Short version: this is a build your own bowl that offers nice choices, fantastic ingredients, vegetarian options, good service and a really nice space to eat. They offer a poke bowl option (rice-based), but you can also get a bowl with a bunch of wonton chips and no rice, or a seaweed-wrapped burrito, both of which have their advantages. The wonton chips are pretty delicious, and the sushiritto comes wrapped and halved, which I find makes for fantastic leftovers. The great thing about the menu is the diversity of ingredients it offers. You want fresh vegetables? Fruit? Sure! You want something fried? The lotus chips and wasabi peas fit that. You want more protein? Soybeans. Some healthy fat? Avocado or macadamia nuts. Spicy? They've got jalapeno or wasabi. Sweet? Mango. Sour? Pickled daikon or ginger. Every bite is something new. Hawaiian makes for a natural fusion cuisine that has a lot of good stuff, and the sauces and ingredients here are all top notch. Expensive for a bowl, yes, but worth it. And if you're building a vegetarian bowl (or burrito), their unlimited topping policy makes it even more worth it. You can definitely eat fish free here and not feel cheated. And the house they've built in is quite beautiful and a great place to eat, and when I've been in there have always been plenty of people working here and I've gotten notably great service for a casual restaurant. One can order by filling out a form in front, which given the complexity of options is helpful. I do really wish they'd mark the menu as to what (particularly among sauces) is vegetarian/vegan. Mind you, they still don't have a working website. And it's not especially fast for a build your own bowl place (and at the moment you can't really order in advance). And still it's unclear to me whether certain things (notably their miso soup) are vegetarian/vegan. But I suspect I'll be back often enough to find out. TL;DR So I returned to this place a month or so after my first visit and tried something different. You fill out a card to customize your order, and I thought through mine and was ready to pay when I was stopped. I was a bit thrown off and wondered what was wrong, until I was told that because I ordered tofu (instead of some expensive seafood, presumably), I'd get unlimited regular toppings and one premium topping included in the price. Even though this is ostensibly a seafood restaurant and I do not eat seafood, this is clearly a place that wants my business. /TL;DR

Yelp
Nice new restaurant in this area of the city! Love that you fill out your "create your own" with dry erase markers and not wasting paper and pencils. I created my own bowl but was disappointed when they come to tell me they had no octopus. He got the honey garlic bowl off the menu. We got iced coffee and milk tea- which they forgot to make and we got after our food. Only thing is the signage, we missed it and kept walking past the wine shop until we realize it was the "house" with the sign way up high- the shutters were closed and the blind down on the door. Be on the look out and hopefully they'll add some pizazz so more people know about it!

Yelp
I had been searching for a place that served sushi burritos for such a long time and was so happy to find this place! All the ingredients are fresh and you watch them make it in front of you. Great vegan options as well. When you order tofu, you get unlimited toppings. :)

Yelp
Poke Chan is my favorite poke spot in town. I think they have the most creative & freshest poke in the city. You can't go wrong with the tamarind scallion bowl or miso sesame bowl! Oh and they fried chicken bowls are also good!!
google avatar

Judy L.

Yelp
This place is so yummy. Fair price and portions. Lots of options so don't just glaze over them if you don't know what it is initially. Can't really critique cause I make my own bowl so it's up to me what flavors I want. Generally though, the ingredients are fresh and the combos turn out decent.
google avatar

Yelp
Everything here was super fresh and delicious! They had plenty of options to choose from. You can do a premade bowl or customize your own! I always love to customize mine so I can put all the toppings I want! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
The best poke place in NOLA I have known so far. Everything here is great especially their Takoyaki! The place looks very cool too but a bit too cold. Their backyard is very nice too especially at night time! Recommend this placeeeee

Yelp
I think by far probably the best and FRESTEST poke in town! Kind of my way to get here but totally worth it! Seasoning very flavorful and good!

Yelp
Hit all the marks! Delicious, excellent quality ingredients, clean, friendly, and cute. I ordered the tamarind scallion poke bowl and left feeling full and satisfied. Even though I live all the way in Metairie, I would definitely take the drive for some more poke. If my word isn't enough for it...there was another table who wanted to replay a message of a high-five to the kitchen cause he was so impressed with his meal

Yelp
*disclaimer* I do not like raw fish. This is probably my favorite poke place that I have tried. Even though I don't like raw fish, I've been on a poke kick lately. Not only does poke chan have cooked protein bowls, but they also fry the tofu. This makes the tofu texture and flavor so good. It's also very good if you are with someone who doesn't like raw fish like me. The honey garlic marinade was yummy, and the spicy mayo was so good. They do limit you to 4 toppings, but it was more than enough for me. I got the regular sized bowl and ended up eating two meals out of it. My friend got the honey garlic bowl and really enjoyed it. The interior is so cute and clean, and the staff are very friendly. We saw a couple sitting eating little fish ice creams and will have to go back to try those they looked so cute!
google avatar

Chelle L.

Yelp
Such a cute place to have poke! I love that you can really customize your poke bowl however you want and especially without having to point at everything and to talk above the glass but just having it on paper instead. So many options to have and it's so fresh! I've gone here twice now and it's been delicious both times and the atmosphere is great. It's still relatively new but it's got character to the place and I love it.
google avatar

Becky N.

Yelp
Probably one of my favorite poke places in nola. Poke-chan has a variety of options to meet your palate. They offer cooked bowls on the menu and also allow you to create your own bowls with a variety of proteins and vegetables. I love how they have the paper and marker so you can take your time and choose what you want in your bowl. This build your own bowl method makes me feel like I'm not rushed and holding up the line. I also feel that it's quicker because there is no back and forth with what you want in your bowl. They FILL your bowl up brah. Love this place. The staff is also kind. Support local businesses!
google avatar

Yelp
Hands down THE BEST POKE PLACE in NOLA!! You have an option of choosing a burrito, wonton chips, or poke bowl, and trust me, you can't go wrong with any of these choices! Their protein is incredibly fresh and there are a ton of selections/toppings to mix in your dish. What makes it distinct from other poke locations in NOLA is Poke-chan gives a hefty portion of protein. They also have a variety of marinades to choose from (Thai Spice is my favorite!). When you first walk in, grab an erasable menu, and fill out your preferences. Make sure you read the directions on the menu too because they list how many toppings come with your dish. Additional toppings will be .50 cents to $1.00 extra. I once went overboard with my toppings because I thought it was unlimited, but my mistake for being hangry and for not reading! Once you are done, just check in with the cashier and you are good to go! The wait could take a bit, but that's because they are making your dish with love and creativity! Check this place out, you won't regret it! :)

Yelp
Finally getting around to eating here and it was soo good. It is also very cute. The interior is simple yet sleek. Friendly staff. You can build your own bowl or eat it as a burrito or salad (I think). I just got a pre-made poke bowl-tamarind scallion. Mm the seaweed salad so fresh and so good. All of the ingredients were actually really delicious and fresh. I forgot what fish came in my bowl but it was just a tad fishier than the other ones I tasted but nonetheless it was still good. My cousin got the honey garlic bowl and I definitely loved his. Will be getting that next time. I loved all of his flavors. Also, jalapeños make a great touch, but only if you like spicy cause it was SPICY. Can't wait to come back and try the other interesting items on the menu!
google avatar

Vince P.

Yelp
Currently open for to-go & delivery only. We got it to-go but food is so good we couldn't make it home without nibbling! The nibbling ended up with us eating it all!! Everything was really fresh & delicious. We got a few predesigned bowls but you can definitely make your own!

Yelp
Oh em gee, this place is poke paradise! Yelp reviews definitely did not lead me astray. I love poke and was waiting patiently for the poke scene to arrive in New Orleans. I won't mention the only other poke place in town but let's just say it's a bust and I was completely let down when I tried it. Poke-Chan, however, knows what they're doing and they do it really well. You can choose from their poke menu or customize your own bowl which is what I did. The portions are huge. I have a big appetite and I started getting full when I was halfway through. (But that still didn't stop me from finishing my entire bowl lol). The ingredients taste really fresh and I like the variety of options to choose from. I was really happy that scallop was an option because it's my favorite! My fiancé got the chicken karaage bowl (Japanese fried chicken) and it was crispy, crunchy perfection. So good. The only con is that I noticed avocado is $1 extra to add to your bowl and it seems like more of a basic item to me, but that won't stop me from returning!

Yelp
It's always a pleasure to eat here because not only is the food super fresh & tasty.. the atmosphere and service is amazing every time. AND GURLL the portion here is A1. They're very accommodating and can help you answer any questions! My top recommendations if it's your first time and you're not picky like me is definitely the Honey Garlic Bowl since there's a good variety of ingredients in there. As for drinks don't skip out on the Thai tea or jasmine milk tea!! Of course they also have an option to build your own bowl which is great for ppl who are allergic or picky about certain things. You can also ask for certain sauces on the side.. gochujang is always a good choice. There's also cooked and vegetarian options wooo!!! The main reason why I love this poke place and believe it's the best in the city is bc the portions are really a bang for your buck!!! And did I mention the atmosphere/decor? Street parking is the only option but it's worth it! Just be careful of where you park, watch for signs and don't get towed lol

Yelp
Nice little gem I was brought to by my friend. It's not far from my home which is a plus. Not as quick of service as poke loa, but it's still fresh. You turn in your sheet and they prepare it for you and deliver it to your table. My friend also had some fried tuna balls. She really enjoyed them. My bowl was really tasty. I'll probably be back.

Yelp
Sush-i-ri-tto! *clap clap clap clap clap* Sush-i-ri-tto! *clap clap clap clap clap* When I heard that New Orleans was getting another poke restaurant I was pretty happy about it. For those of you who don't know what poke is: it's sushi's sexy cousin. It's a bowl of raw fish, veggies and other goodies. It's basically sushi salad or deconstructed sushi roll. I was excited to try Poke-Chan and then someone mentioned that you can build your own sushiritto here. A sushiritto is a big sushi roll packed with raw fish, rice and other yums and wrapped, burrito style, in seaweed and you eat it with your hands. As far as I know, Poke-Chan is one of the first, if not the only, place to offer it in New Orleans. Needless to say, when I visited Poke-Chan I had sushiritto on the brain. I like how it works here: you fill out your card with what you want and what you want in it, give it to the folks, pay, and they make it for you and bring it your table. I got my sushiritto with tuna and salmon and other stuff such as sweet onions, scallions and edamame. It took a while, but when it was finally delivered it was beautiful. It also came with two sauces on the side, but I decided to keep it simple and just add a little soy sauce. The food was DELICIOUS. It was fresh and tasty and the flavors in my concoction blended together perfectly. Some of it fell apart as I ate, but that was no problem, I just went after those bits with my fork. I love eating things like this, because it's a healthier alternative to eating a burger or taking my weekly trip to the nearest Mexican restaurant. I like that they use "washable" dishes to cut down on waste, just be sure to put your dishes in the right place when you're finished. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great and while it was pretty dead on the cold, rainy afternoon I was here, I can see that it's built to handle a crowd. If you're a poke fan, or if you're curious about sushirittos, this spot is a must. The location is great, the staff is friendly and the food is delectable.

Yelp
Probably will get slapped on the wrist but we disregarded yelp highlights to order wonton chips! Def will return to Include this hot item. After several disappointing poke tries in the southeast area of the states, we decided to share a 'build your own' bowl. Our items: white rice, masago, tobiko, sesame seed, mango, double salmon, tuna, ginger, and cucumber tossed in honey ginger and sesame oil. Portion size is larger comparable to other places we tried from tx to la. So from that, I think your getting your fair share for the price you pay. However, next time we may eliminate mango and just add more fish. We was overwhelmed with mango. It sweet and juicy but we was here for fish not a fruit bowl. The sauce was perfection. It was well balanced and tossed evenly throughout the fish. Here's tough critics opinion. We had a few bowls in Oahu and Kauai and we are still on the search for poke spot that does the rice the same. Along with other places in the area, they did not replicate my Hawaii poke bowl experience. I think they did basic jasmine type rice. It had no flavor whatsoever. And for toppings, although it appears they will be generous since they let you go happy checking at the order sheet without being dinged with extra fees here n there. They get you by dropping a sprinkle of each item on the bowl. Come on! where's the tobiko and the sesame seeds to add the texture that I love w my poke bowl? Maybe I ordered wrong? Maybe I should not build my own bowl and check out their menu 1st besides playing poke bowl dictator? That I will do next time. Give the menu some trust, try wonton chip, get a Thai tea and also, their sauce toss game is too good to share with my Plus one.

Yelp
Super cute! I haven't had enough poke in my life to say it's the best, but it is definitely a winner in Nola. There's street parking, but if you can't find any close by we parked near the railroad tracks. To order, pick up a mini clip board and build your own bowl or burrito! I literally put everything in my bowl - $13 Step 1 Size: Reg bowl Base: Brown rice & mixed greens Step 2 Protein: Bay scallops & yellowtail Mix-ins: Fresh wasabi Marinade: Ponzu and spicy aioli Step 3 Toppings: Corn, snow crab, lotus root chips, sriarcha peas, pickled daikon Garnish: Togarashi, fried garlic, jalapeno Okkkkk, so I would recommend trying sauces on the side and dipping it as you eat to see what other "marinades" you like. Sometimes it can be a bit bland if you don't have enough sauce. I'd have to say the additional sauces I liked were the "thai spice" (reminds me of thai chili) and "tamarind scallion" (very different but I liked it a lot). This is a lot bigger than the Poke Loa one I went to so it's great for groups of friends or even date night. They also offer spirits and in-house mojito! Next time, I want to try the Wonton chip and burrito. I would recommend this place for anyone craving some poke!

Yelp
Old shotgun double converted to a lovely restaurant space with rustic industrial interior with lots of sunlight streaming in. Located on St. Claude Ave by the railroad tracks and a few street parking spots out front. You walk in and pick up a mini clipboard with options to build your own bowl, or peruse their paper menu to try one of their creations. The selection is more varied here than other poke places around town and the ingredients were fresh. Portion sizes were generous, but there are several up-charges for options that add up quickly. I had a large bowl ($13.75 for 3 scoops), an extra protein scoop option $2.50, extra toppings ($0.50 each), two premium toppings ($1 ea) and totaled up to a $23 bowl, but I'm a piggy like that and will go all out on these kind of things. It was a big bowl and worth it to me, but beware, all the add-ons can add up! We also tried the fried octopus dumplings (Takoyaki) and the Japanese fried chicken (Karaage) and both were delicious. The dumplings have a soft texture, but look like little octopus hush puppies, so don't let that surprise you. Also had the spicy ginger limeade, which was very good! We ordered the Samanco dessert, which was advertised as a fish shaped waffle stuffed with vanilla ice cream and a thin layer of red bean paste, but they had an issue with the ice cream and refunded us for it. Boo. I really wanted to try it. Service was good, space was lovely (there is also a little backyard courtyard area with string lights for a nice evening), and the food was delicious, if a little more expensive than other poke places. I would definitely return!

Yelp
I waited until my second visit to write a review because I was not sure if my first visit was a fluke or the norm. I now have what I need to write an accurate review. I will start with the good. The poke bowls are good. They are fresh, high quality, and the variety of customizable flavors are nice. I enjoyed the bowls on both visits and for that I would say it Is a high quality and flavorful dish. The way that the ordering is set up is not very easy for someone who has questions about flavors or items. The ordering is done on a small clipboard where you choose what you want. The source for my lower rating is the service. The lack of friendly or helpful staff at the start was a clue. But the worst is that a bowl with all ingredients on a bar should not take 15+ minutes to receive. I had to ask for my drink when it was not given to me when ordering or brought with my bowl 20 minutes later. This inexplicable lack of service is why my score is not higher.

Yelp
My husband and I go to Poke-Chan specifically for the takoyaki. They are reasonably priced (5 for $5.50), served in a visually appealing fashion, with appropriate toppings and katsuo bushi. They are flavorful with a generous portion of octopus inside. Our only minor complaint is that we felt the batter was just a touch under-cooked. We usually share, but when it comes to takoyaki, we each get our own orders. We will return for more takoyaki from Poke-Chan! The karaage are tasty, lightly battered. My husband commented they are a bit larger pieces than traditionally cooked in Japan. But it's not a deterrant, as they are still fairly easy to handle with chopsticks. I ordered a milk tea, which was delicious, very sweet. But I was disappointed in the small size for the price. I probably won't get that again. I don't feel qualified to review Poke-Chan's poke bowls, because they're the only poke bowls I've had the pleasure of knowing, so I have no basis of comparison. However, it's obvious the ingredients are fresh and high quality.

Yelp
"It's New Orleans, Dorothy" Poke Chan on 2800 St Claude, and it's the 2nd Best (so far), of the local poke restaurants. (Poke Loa down on Magazine is better). A few refinements and 'CHAN' can improve: Hot rice shouldn't touch my chilled poke imho. Secondly crab favoured Pollack or imitation crab has no place in this dish (imho of course). For those of you who like dat fake stuff...more power to you. (this was MY 1st visit to Poke Chan, & menu called it something else) 3rdly, a REAL fermented gluten free soy sauce would be nice. TAMARI? so I consumed my dish slightly drier and less salty than preferred. It wasn't cheap... 15 bucks plus plus plus for a moderate serve. Not extravagant or fancy surrounds. It's clean. Staff were out swatting flies whilst I dined in. Efficient service , little interaction with customers. 2nd Best in 'local' show, gotta long way to go 'Nationally'. I wish em well and would return. I am a fan of poke, and Poke Chan.

Yelp
Heard that PokeChan opened up and decided to go visit today. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I appreciated that they had pre-made bowls, and even a menu of cooked items. I'm pretty indecisive, so I opted for the "make your own" option. The great thing about making your own is that there are a lot of add-ons that you can load into your bowl that don't cost extra! There are a few things that cost extra, like avocado and seaweed salad, but most options are unlimited! I'm very happy that the poke scene is growing in New Orleans!

Yelp
I am a vegan and it's really nice the wide variety of vegetables there are here! So I wanted to see what they would recommend and I went with their shroom bowl which came with brown rice, season sprouts, mushrooms, tofu, green onion, and pickled daikon, and more! They even gave me some of their vegan sauces to try for free! The flavor of the bowl wasn't anything special, but with the sauce, especially that miso ginger, it was amazing! The staff was very friendly, they took time to show me all my vegan options and they really cared. Beautiful place, very clean, nice art on the walls. Definitely worth a try. UPDATE-- I came back and tried the sushirrito and I customized it myself putting it as I'd like, it was soooo delicious! Plus if you are vegan and just get the tofu as your protein you get a premium topping like avocado or seaweed salad or something like that for free!

Yelp
Excellent food. Great service. Support your locals. They have been around for a few years and this review has been due for awhile. The food is always fresh and for a business in this environment I can say their cleanliness is superb. I love mixing the honey garlic and spicy aioli. The price is great for what you get especially when you compare it to the other poke places in town. I suggest parking by the railroad if you can't find parking out front. The walk is very short and the area is generally safe. Currently it seems that they are only doing take out but their service is really fast whenever they do have a line. I would recommend Poke Chan 10,000 times over for the best poke spot in New Orleans.

Yelp
Soooo good. Super comfortable setting with in house poke creations. They also shell out great kitchen items. We ordered their Spicy Thai Poke a rice bowl as well as a sushi burrito. Crushed it all. Will be back with the boys.

Yelp
Initial thought wanted to give Poke-chan three stars, so I went with my gut - but I 100% plan on going back and definitely will write an updated review. The restaurant is located right by Faubourg Wines (hit up both in one go if you know what's up). The restaurant gives you the option to make your own on a fill-in sheet, or you can pick one of their menu bowls. All three of us made our own. Of course avocado is extra (what else is knew), but I was so sad to see that seaweed salad cost an extra dollar. I ended up getting the Tamarind Scallion sauce, which had a big kick to it. It really made me overall dislike the bowl as a whole because the sauce was s prominent and i didn't really like the taste of it in general. My friends both got the Thai Spice sauce and really enjoyed it. All the components were good - my sauce just really ruined it. But that's not to say that some people would really like it! I was also surprised at how long it took for them to make our bowls. I guess I was comparing it to the more fast-food feel of Poke Loa on Magazine, but here we made our order and sat down as opposed to going down the line with them (which was how it looked Ike it would be). I think Poke-Chan could totally elevate their menu by adding a symbol or a note to signify which items are spicy. This would be great because then, if you aren't big on spice, you don't have to ask about each individual item/sauce you're interested in or you simply won't accidentally order something too spicy that makes you're food enjoyable (like me). Overall though, my friends really liked their food, the space was really nice, and I'm excited to go back and try a new sauce

Yelp
One of the better poke places in New Orleans. The service is top notch. The place looks pretty clean. It felt like the protein portions were larger than almost any other poke place I've been too.

Yelp
The restaurant is super clean, bright and fresh like the food. Choose one of their bowls or grab a clipboard and build your own. I had the octopus dumplings as an appetizer. Unusual texture, soft dumpling with slightly chewy octopus inside with sweet and sour sauces drizzled over. I had the popular honey garlic signature bowl that comes with warm white rice, big chunks of salmon and tuna, crabmeat, avocado with a sweet/slightly spicy ponzu type sauce and and aioli drizzle over the top. The regular size was plenty big for me, actually I couldn't finish it all. Very good flavors, fresh ingredients, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Best poke place in town! The make your bowl option is always a must when I visit this restaurant. Many options and really good prices.

Yelp
We went to an event and while driving we notice Poke Chan was close by so we decided to grab lunch to go after our event was done. We ordered three bowl. It took them awhile to get my order done. I only had one other customer ahead of me also waiting for her order. I was excited to try this place out. I had the salmon and tofu as my protein with half salad and rice with honey garlic sauce and other toppings. First off opening my container of yummies, I realized I should have requested extra sauce. It was dry due to the fact I had salad/rice combo. Into a few bites, I noticed a funky taste which I'm not quite sure where it came from. It wasn't like the whole meal has a funky taste, it was a hit and missed. From the other two take out, my sister food didn't sit well with her after she ate hers also. We both had salmon and other similar pickled toppings. I'm not sure I'll be back for second.

Yelp
Y'all, it's taken me a reallllly long time to get on the poke train, but I'm finally here and ho boy is it magical. Most poke offerings always seemed underwhelming to me - crappy quality tuna and tons of sweet or creamy sauces. I wanted something of quality, and I wanted something a little different, ya know? In walks Poke-Chan.... I LOVE that they offer toppings and sauces you can't get anywhere else locally. They offer scallops and wood ear mushrooms (labeled "fungus") and their tamarind scallion sauce is TO DIE FOR. On top of that, everything is so fresh and flavorful you can't help but love it. Seriously - I've eaten here for twice in the last three days. Try it!!

Yelp
Been twice in one week (the first week's visit). If you know Poke and what to expect, you'll be happy for stopping by here. The way it works is mostly the same as other joints, you grab a little menu, marker and check off your options. First time I got a burrito and I was surprised at how filling it was. I just knew for sure I would ravage it and still be looking for more. Nah, after the first half I began to question my unjustified desire to finish it off, but I ate it anyway. It's not like sushi ingredients are meant for a later consumption anyway, right? Second visit was a bowl and, again, deliciously filling. I won't bore you with what I had exactly, mostly because I don't remember and just make a decision as the menu is in front of me. I'll take pictures next time which will be soon.
