Where to Eat Poke in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"One of the Poke OGs is National City’s Poke Etc., which serves a variety of different fishes and accompanying sauces and dressings island style with rice. Word on the street is that they have a killer kalua pig, too." - Jackie Bryant

Google
They serve more than just poke here, including Hawaiian breakfast and lunch plates. Most items seemed affordable but the menu should be updated to reflect price changes, as some items ordered were charged higher than what was listed. For poke, if you choose salmon or tako, it's an additional upcharge. I ordered a plate that came with a small side of poke, and the upcharge was $5 and some change for salmon. Upcharge is fine but for the amount given, it was not worth it at all. Nothing exceptional with the poke flavors. It's good but not worth the trip down to National City for when there's other, better poke shops in San Diego.

Google
This place is truly as good as everyone says! I ordered the pork belly with a side of oyster sauce, poke with white rice, and an extra order of pork lumpia. The pork belly was cooked absolutely perfectly—incredibly crunchy on the outside, yet soft, juicy, and full of flavor inside. The lumpia was also crispy and juicy, and the sweet and sour sauce was deliciously thick and sweet. The poke was fantastic; my only regret is not ordering a bigger portion! I'm definitely coming back to taste the rest of the menu.

Google
A great place to try authentic Poke, you can really tell the fish is prepared well and taste great. For a “make your own bowl” it was about $15 to pick two proteins and I chose the Cali Hawaiian and spicy mayo salmon. Both tasted delicious. My only one wish is that I could get some more toppings with it like you would get with other poke place. Like ginger or edamame! But I did leave feeling very satisfied

Google
Food was ok, plenty of choices, ranging from Hawaiian poke to Filipino. Portion sizes could be better (especially the poke compared to other poke places 8th&B and HFS). Lots of “additional charges” not listed on their menu screens. For example, extra charge for salmon or tako (octopus) poke. Your “make your own 2 scoop poke plate” for $15.99 will end up costing close to $20 and be lesser portion than 8th&B less than 2 blocks down! For poke, I’ll stick to 8th&B and HFS and for Filipino, I’ll stick to Tita’s. Oh, and parking sucks in this plaza.

Google
I ordered a poke bowl and since it was my first time at this place, I asked the server for recommendations on non spicy options. Although his recommendations were good, there was nothing friendly about his mannerisms. Regardless, it wasn't a bad experience, I got what I came for. But when it comes to the flavor, it was definitely not up to expectations. None of the choices I got had any flavor except maybe the seaweed and the musubi rolls. The meat quality was great but the flavoring and seasoning was almost nonexistent.

Google
authentic poke! they come very close to hawai’i foodland’s poke (which is what the worker said they were trying to do.) i’d say they’re kind of pricey especially for frozen fish, but still good overall :)

Google
Oahu grown tourist here. This place is legit. Authentic flavors and good value. Quality of fish was A+ on the day we went. My girlfriend almost ate the whole plate before I could get a picture.

Yelp
Poke Etc. is a very reliable poke establishment down in National City. The flavor offerings are always great - from spicy mayo, shoyu, sweet & spicy, kimchi to tako. They serve really great mac salad on the side as an extra or seaweed salad if you wish. If you're lucky and come in on certain days when they make their baked mochi goods those are a great delight! Service is always friendly and efficient. It can feel a bit busy sometimes depending how long the line is but that shows how popular Poke Etc. is! My only criticism is that the fish can feel pre-frozen and maybe not as fresh compared to other places I have tried or when I have been to Hawaii where it is extremely fresh from the ocean. But their flavors and for the most part the quality has always been great every time I have visited.

Yelp
Influenced by IG to visit this spot. I decided to check this place out on the last day of my SD trip. The place itself has such cute decor. Lots of colors and flowers. There is a designated line on the right side to order. Honestly, if it's your first time, you will need some extra time deciding what to order. Menu has so many offerings to choose from. They have fresh poke as well. I ordered the spicy mayo salmon and spicy mayo tuna. Apparently the salmon is extra charge. They do ask you before they charge you. Also, had an option to do double scoop of rice or one scoop of rice and 1 scoop of seaweed salad. The fish was well mixed and yummy. The seaweed salad could be a little bit more in the cup. Fast service. Happy staff. Busy workers constantly restocking and cleaning tables. Better than Hawaiian Fresh Seafood Liberty Station in my opinion. Can't wait to go back to try some of their other items or new location!!

Yelp
I would 100% come back to Poke Etc. I was a little confused at first about how to order, but one of the employees helped me out and suggested the poke plate. Definitely the right call! The shoyu and garlic tuna were incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. I also grabbed a side of lechon crunchy, juicy pork belly and their sweet and sour house sauce took everything to the next level. The pairing was unexpectedly perfect and seriously delicious. The staff was warm, friendly, and super patient. The whole place has a welcoming local vibe, and you can tell they really care about their customers. Thank you guys for such a great experience! I'll absolutely be coming back.

Yelp
We came here to try the poke - and the hype is real and worth it! They were delicious and have a lot of great selections to choose from. My personal fave was the wasabi. They also have a menu for hot plates and most of them are my favorite comfort food so we decided to order. Yes, their menu is for everyone and will satisfy any craving. The portions are generous. It because a full on feast and I would do it again! Most of all dining here feels like home, everyone was so nice, friendly and it feels just like so chill and free flowing. Do not skip their merch and drinks, especially the Mac Salad that's perfect with everything.

Yelp
This is a small unassuming place. Colorful decor. Service is fast, but friendly. The menu is pretty straightforward. I love that they have an option to just get the poke/fish (by the pound). When we get home, everybody gets to add exactly what they want on their poke. Oh, and for big orders, you get their tote for free!

Yelp
I've been coming here for a few years now. The food is always consistent in flavor and service is always friendly and fast. The food comes out between 10-15 minutes or less which is a win for me My favorite thing to order is the Island Bento which consists of the teriyaki chicken, pork tonkatsu, and your choice of a side of poke around 1/2 cup of it. This time around I ordered the spicy mayo salmon and it was sooo delicious! The cube of salmon is just the right size and hold so much flavor. The chicken teriyaki is super tender, and the pork tonkatsu is crispy, hot, and fresh. Ambiance is very casual, great for families. I always come here whenever I'm craving poke or Filipino. Their canned Thai tea is also the best!
google avatar

Mai H.

Yelp
I got to try a variety of items -- some of their poke along with several hot plate dishes like the loco moco, chicken katsu, lechon, and more. Everything was good, but my favorite poke flavor has to be the spicy garlic one. I like how big their poke pieces are, very satisfying. I also like that they offer a great variety of sides to go with your meal: pickled radish, seaweed salad, kimchi, mac salad, and more. It really balances everything out. They also have a fridge fully stocked with unique drinks like bubble tea, flavored green teas, and canned coffees. The owners are incredibly friendly and genuine. They make you feel right at home and clearly care about their customers. You can tell they put a lot of heart into their food and service. This is the spot to be if you're in the mood for poke and comfort food.

Yelp
If you can't tell already... this is my favorite spot. I honestly can't even count how many times I've been here each week! Lately I've been totally stuck on the wasabi and spicy garlic salmon - they're addicting. This place had been on my radar for a while, and now that I've finally tried it, it's been hard not to keep coming back. I'd say it's definitely in my top two poke spots! I can't even rank them because this one's just as good as the other place I love. You really can't go wrong with anything on their poke menu; I've practically tried them all at this point! I finally grabbed a few extras this time - the Spam Musubi and the Chocolate Orange KitKats I always see by the register. The chocolate was so good!! I love anything orange-flavored, and the musubi hit the spot, too. Definitely worth grabbing if you've been eyeing them! I still need to explore the rest of the menu - especially the spam musubi, but I'm always too full by the time I leave. The mac salad is a solid 8.5/10, and I always get double rice - never misses. The customer service here is great, too. Everyone's super friendly and helpful. When I was using my scooter recently after an injury, they even offered to carry my plate -that small gesture meant a lot. The place is easy to get into and handicap accessible, which I really appreciated. Can't speak for the restroom though; I noticed stairs and didn't check it out. There's plenty of seating and a good-sized parking lot, too. All around - amazing fresh poke, great vibes, no complaints, and awesome staff. You'll probably catch me here again... soon

Yelp
My sister and I visited on a Friday evening around 4:30PM for an early dinner. I ordered a Create Your Own Bowl with Wasabi Tuna and Spicy Mayo Salmon ($15.55+$3.07 upcharge) and a Lychee Lilikoi Hawaiian Sun drink ($2.34). My sister also ordered a Create Your Own Bowl with Spicy Garlic Tuna and Spicy May Tuna ($15.55), a Lychee Green Tea Hawaiian Sun drink ($2.34), a Large Macaroni Salad ($3.07), and one of the insulated bags that they were displaying on the shelf ($9.31). The bag was kinda pricey as it probably costs $1 in Hawaii, but my sister is a sucker for cute merchandise and supporting mom and pop shops. I would skip the macaroni salad as it was extremely bland - No flavor whatsoever; a little salt would've gone a long way. I originally wanted the octopus, but they were all out when we visited. All the flavors we ordered were delicious. We would rank them in the following order: wasabi tuna, spicy garlic tuna, spicy mayo salmon, spicy mayo tuna. I just wish there wasn't an upcharge for the salmon. There is plenty of seating inside the restaurant. The interior is outdated, but gives off local Hawaii vibes. There was a steady flow of customers while we there. A good mix of dine-in and take out. A lot of the patrons seemed to be returning locals which is always a good sign. The service is friendly enough. There is plenty of parking in the strip mall parking lot. Note, the area is a little dodgey so be aware of your surroundings.

Yelp
Honestly, this place should've gotten a five but their whole set up is a little weird. First there's 2 counters and a small sign pointing towards Poke Etc - which of course we missed. We went straight to one of the counters (on the right) but didn't order there cause we were pulled into where the poke display was. That's when we realized there's two separate lines. The poke looked a little sus. It just didn't look as fresh as the other shops we've been to. Classic example of "never judge a book by it's cover" cause the poke here is sooo good! Like really good, they knew what they were doing in that kitchen! Super simple menu, rice and your choice of a couple of poke scoops (salmon/ahi tuna/octopus) Lots of spicy options so we went with the most basic one (ahituna), which consisted of spicy mayo and shoyu I believe. That was pretty good, but didn't care for it cause I don't like spice. The other poke we chose was the ahi tuna cali style. That one was the winner! Super fresh & mixed really well with whatever it came with. The restaurant itself wasn't as polished & definitely stuffy but the food was the main event. There were tables set up so you can dine in. They also have a little shop to the right side which we didn't get to see. I'd suggest to please make a sign bigger so that folks aren't as confused & maybea better menu board for the poke itself. Along with poke, this restaurant serves hawaiian and filipino goodies. Might come back and try one of those dishes one day. Plenty of parking but it does get crowded and spaces are small.

Yelp
We tried Poke Etc in National City after hearing amazing reviews. They're probably the closest thing we found here that resembles those in Hawaii (in terms of fish and flavor selection.) The price point isn't bad either. They also have other items and desserts, apart from the poke, and we tried their halo-halo which my husband loved. Amazing staff and seems to be loved by locals.
google avatar

Polly H.

Yelp
We always stop by on our way home from TJ it's super convenient and only 15 from the border fresh fish and amazing flavors line moves quick since employees are very knowledgeable salmon is extra fyi
google avatar

Yelp
Poke was so fresh and delicious but I was a little disappointed that I got so little seaweed salad.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
What we ordered: * build your own bowl (4/5) [Taste: ] Very good authentic Hawaiian flavors. Very nice selection of bold but not overpowering sauces that nicely complement the fish. I thought their fish wasn't as fresh (compared to 8th & B) but definitely not the cheap stuff. Very good overall. [Service: ] It was alright [Comments: ] Good portions. For a build your own you get 2 scoops of fish and rice. I didn't really appreciate that they charge extra for salmon vs. tuna, especially when you are paying $16 for a bowl that's mostly rice. [Parking: ] Plenty of lot parking

Yelp
Best poke I've had in SD. I went at the end of the day so the ginger and kimchi ones were sold out. One of employees recommended getting there before last call at 6:30pm. They'll just put out a few remaining poke left. I tried the island plate which came with shoyu chicken and pork katsu. The chicken was very flavorful and katsu was crunchy despite thinly breaded. I love the vibe of of the restaurant. It was a nod to the culture. I would definitely come back for poke and try breakfast.
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
The best food is always in an unassuming strip mall. This is a really nice shop with lots of Hawaiian foods and other items to purchase (chocolates, bags, hair clips, etc). It is quite a bit larger than it looks from outside. Poke Etc offers 15 flavors of poke and many other food options. I tried the poke bowl with spicy garlic tuna and a side of mac salad. I was very flavorful and marinated well. The mac salad is one of my favorites that I've had. The service was quick and efficient.

Yelp
POKE ETC: It was great to find an independent Hawaiian Restaurant close to my hotel. I ordered the (BBQ chicken / chicken katsu / ginger poke side) combo. At 4pm the takeout wait was only 5 minutes during which I took in the island decor. As a sunbaked sansei, coincidentally in Aloha wear, I felt at home. Utensils & napkins were included - not always a given in my travels. And immediately I saw that the food LOOKED as authentic as the restaurant - see attached pic. Too often, at big chains, food is haphazardly dumped into containers by employees who obviously don't know how it's SUPPOSED to look. The BBQ & katsu were perfectly cooked and as delicious as they looked. The gohan was proportioned correctly to match the meats. I'm a rare Asian who dislikes fish. So, 1 small piece of poke was enough for me. I look forward to ordering again when I'm back in National City.
google avatar

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Whoa this is a lovely family restaurant where they are from Japan and also Hawaii, Hawaiian flavors soo close to home, love the chicken katsu, especially the lechon soo crispy like the lumpia, the staff is soo friendly ... when I worked in National city I would come here for many years and get the poke too, I love the Tako( octopus)
google avatar

Gabriel W.

Yelp
10/10 my go to for poke. It is the perfect blend between price and product. They do Hawaiian style poke and it is just like the island. $15 for two scoops of poke and rice. You cannot beat this deal anywhere in town for this quality of poke. I got the spicy salmon and shoyu ahi. Both were incredible as always.
google avatar

Ashley K.

Yelp
This Hawaiian style poke spot is so so so good. I can't stop thinking about it! I crave it all the time but live 3 hours away :( If you are in the area you have to check this spot out! Fresh poke and their other hawaiian food items look so yummy too! I can't wait to go back to SD so I can have this poke again.
google avatar

Katarina O.

Yelp
Oh my god. This was so special. I've only heard raving reviews and they do it justice! I got a create your own plate with Spicy Garlic Ahi, and Spicy Mayo Salmon. I was blown away by the perfection of the ratio of flavors and fish and everything!! The service was great as well, very welcoming environment, and helpful & kind workers! Poke etc. has changed the California poke game for me!
google avatar

Myla C.

Yelp
This fish was so smooth that it didn't even taste like fish! I'd highly recommend it to those new to eating raw fish or have trouble with the texture. The tuna especially had very little fish taste and goes down very smooth. Not pictured is the nori crackers which I very highly recommend pairing with the meal, as it made a huge difference in the eating experience! The atmosphere is extremely homey, and you can tell that you're supporting an amazing family business. They also have some unique desserts in the fridge and beautiful bracelets and hair clips in the front. The menu had a lot going on, so it was a bit difficult to navigate but the overall experience was great. Lives up to the hype!
google avatar

Raymond M.

Yelp
The best poke in SD for sure! Everything taste authentic. The spicy garlic was my fave. They also have lots of goodies. Got some turtle chips and redondo Portuguese sausage to take home.
google avatar

Warrick A.

Yelp
My go to poke spot in SD. Closest thing to Hawaii. I was a little hesitant about the big onion cuts but it compliments the flavors nicely. The other food is ok, but the poke shines. The staff is friendly also.
google avatar

Megan D.

Yelp
By far, one of my favorite Poke spots!! The food itself was amazing and so flavorful. The fish chunks were big and the portions were also very generous. I came with my sports team, and the staff pushed out our orders very quickly. So sad this place is far from home so I will definitely come back when I am in town! When you walk in, you line up and order your food. Then you find your own table if you are dining in. There are plenty of tables so that shouldn't be a problem. The restaurant also has an area to buy Hawaiian snacks and beverages. While waiting in line, there are also other souvenirs for sale.
google avatar

Louna N.

Yelp
Poke build your own plate (double rice, double salmon) was good but wasn't as filling as other poke places. They put furikake on the rice. Friendly and quick service. Busy and casual ambiance. The poke here is like seasoned / marinated fish with rice instead of rice with all kinds of toppings etc. For the halo halo, they could've put more ube ice cream. Otherwise it tasted delicious !
google avatar

Taylor T.

Yelp
Last stop before heading home to Denver, one more Poke fix! Can't beat fresh seafood in Cali and assorted options!

Chris D.

Yelp
Is this owned by a prior service member just stationed in Hawaii?! Lau lau was trash, it's either a day or two old and just heated up in the microwave or it was from a package, pork portion was very very small and dry, Some effort if you're going to have it on your menu. Poke?! Hold up... disappointed. Won't be returning, good luck with your business though.
google avatar

Andrew N.

Yelp
Fire!!!! Man, if I could drive out here every day to eat, I would! Everything about this place is fantastic. Except for the parking. The parking lot sucks. But that's out of their control. It's in a little shopping center. I had the garlic tuna and tako. I probably wouldn't get the tako again, but geez the tuna was freaking phenomenal. I loved it here. My son loves poke, we live in Upland, and I told him we will be taking a day trip to San Diego just to eat here.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
As I was in the area, I decided to get poke from here again as my boyfriend had never had the poke from here yet. I told him the Hawaiian food was really good but since we were planning to cook at home, we decided to only get poke. We got 1/4 lb Spicy Mayo Ahi, 1/4 lb Spicy Mayo Salmon, and 1/2 lb Ginger Ahi. The sauce of the spicy mayo on both fishes were sooooo good. It felt very nostalgic eating these two as the flavor were closely similar to the ones back home in Hawaii. However, the ahi/tuna was not fresh whatsoever. I could taste that it was previously frozen which was a huge bummer. The salmon didn't have that frozen taste which was nice. The lack of freshness wasn't a deal breaker but imagine if the fish was fresh with the spicy mayo sauce they had, mmm! My boyfriend was looking forward to the ginger ahi/tuna, but unfortunately this was a miss that day as it was kind of bland and missing that strong ginger flavor that he was looking forward to. I'll definitely be back for more in the future if I'm in the area especially for their Hawaiian plates. There's a variety of different poke options so maybe I'll try the others next time as well.
google avatar

P Y.

Yelp
Ambiance reminded me of small family run restaurants on Oahu. Cozy with vintage decor and lots of seating. Poke looked very fresh and there were many options. We got the Kama'-aina combo and the pork belly special both were great though I will say the Laulau didn't have all that much meat. Poke was amazing, salmon is an up charge though! Food was fresh and came out quickly. Will be bringing family and friends next time!

Yelp
Born and raised in Hawaii, but have called San Diego home for many years and am so confused at how I've never been to Poke Etc. before. This place is the real deal. They serve poke Hawaiian style. You aren't going to find the chipotle style build your own bowl. Instead, it's like walking into Foodland. All of the poke is pre-mixed and marinated. The spicy ahi was great! The poke is well flavored and tastes delicious. They have a variety of ahi pokes but also some salmon as well. You can buy it by the pound or on a plate or bowl. Beside the poke, they also have plate lunch options. We ordered the teri chiken that was very good. They also have local favorites like lau lau and kalua pork. It's not all Hawaiin food also. They also have different Japanese dishes and Filipino dishes as well! They have a big dining area with lots of local snacks too! You can find all your favorite Hawaiian sun drinks and different crackers, chocolates and cookies from Hawaii for purchase. The food here is delicious and a great taste of home!
google avatar

Gianina M.

Yelp
Place is located in a shopping strip w other businesses and lots of parking. 100% Hawaiian Poke. Service was above and beyond. Even though they didn't have ready a Poke Limu that we wanted they made it on the spot. We ordered two different Dishes of Poke of Salmon, Ahi and Octopus. Both dishes came with rice and Seaweed Salad. Each dish was a great price of $15. Flavor was like having Poke in Hawaii. Delicious! Poke is also sold by the pound here and no need to make long lines for Fresh Poke. We ordered to go but they alao had tables to sit down. Decor and ambiance is like being on an island, inviting and creative.
google avatar

Claudia P.

Yelp
I really wanted Poke for lunch and Yelp showed this place as 4 stars. I give it 5 stars. The portions were so big and the staff so friendly and helpful. The line to order was long but I only waited 20 minutes so not that bad. They are a big area to eat inside, very clean. Love this place!!! Try it
google avatar

Stephanie R.

Yelp
Amazing amazing AHMAZING POKE!!!!! tastes just like Hawaii the spicy ahi poke with Mac salad on the side and spam musubi is a must try
google avatar

Nayomi R.

Yelp
Favorite poke of allllll time! It's the closest thing to poke from the main land. I always get the spicy garlic tuna and spicy mayo salmon for a little diversity. The fish is always fresh. Every time I touch down in my city my family already knows to have it ready for me. Between the spicy garlic and spicy mayo I can never choose which one if my favorite. The rice has a well seasoned furikake. I would eat this every other day after class or before work. The environment as well is so friendly. You can tell the workers care about their work and quality of food. There's other food for non fish eaters I just love the raw fish! 10/10 for me every time! Don't forget to get a spam musubi too!
google avatar

Phuong H.

Yelp
Fresh, tasty poke! I usually go for the plate which comes with 2 different fish options. Good amount of poke, everything's super fresh. The only down side is that it's kinda pricey per plate & the portion of the seaweed is literally 1.5 bites lool. Service & speed is always great!
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
found this place while doom scrolling late one night and went the next day (looked so good)! love that it's only 10m from my place and in an area I'm familiar with. We went on a Monday at 1pm, it was slow and quick! We only went to pick up because we were on lunch but definitely want to come back to try more things because it smelled sooo good in there. We both had the salon poke bowls and they did not disappoint! The fish melts in your mouth, it's simple but so good. They also have a decent size menu and good variety of drinks! Really wanted to try a Hawaiian drink but didn't have time to look through them all. Can't WAIT to come back and try some of their hot meals!
google avatar

KayAnna S.

Yelp
SO happy my husband and I were able to experience genuine poke again all while being home in San Diego! Poke Etc is an absolute must try when it comes to poke. Their rice is perfectly fluffy and they have too many fantastic options for marinades on all of their ahi, salmon, etc. I wanted to have salmon shoyu again, but as we were in line (it was short!) they ran out of salmon shoyu twice. We ordered a 1/2 pound of it to enjoy in addition to our poke orders since we didn't want to wait on a fresh batch in the moment. It was well worth the wait! My husband had the basic spicy ahi and I had the spicy salmon. We were in heaven with each of our orders. The salmon shoyu was just the cherry on the top. All of the fish was incredibly fresh and the salmon was so buttery. Couldn't get any better! Can't forget our side order of Hawaiian Mac salad. I have no other words besides, it was perfect and creamy. For the restaurant itself, there is a good amount of indoor seating for all different groups sizes and plenty of parking in the lot as well. They do have a small general supply of Hawaiian market items too! We also loved that they had Hawaiian suns available, as it made our meal just that much better.
google avatar

Garret T.

Yelp
Food was incredible! Straight island vibes! Some of the best Poke I have had in San Diego. The line was a little long but well worth the wait. (Also took about 20 mins to get my girls hot food, but it was cooked FRESH) I will be back soon. 10/10

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! This and It's Raw are my favorite poke spots in San Diego! Their poke is super fresh and delicious and they have a lot of great combo deals. If I'm being honest, my favorite thing here is not even the poke, it is their absolutely delicious Samoan corned beef breakfast! Their Aloha Plate is also insane and a must order. And I can't neglect to mention that their SPICY MAYO is the best I've ever had! I have no idea how they make that stuff. Actually, if I had one piece of advice, it would be for them to add the spicy mayo to their DoorDash menu so that I could order a million extra every time I put in an order. They would make so much money off of me. As it is, I just beg for freebies in the "special request" note section and hope for the best. I have only ordered DoorDash from here and have never been in person, so I can't speak to the ambience, but the food is amazing.

Yelp
This family-run Hawaiian restaurant is such a gem! The ambiance is casual and laid-back, with a small but well-organized dining area, clean tables, and tropical décor--think flowers, surfboards, and a touch of Hawaii everywhere you look. Light background music adds to the relaxed vibe, and the staff is always warm, friendly, and helpful, making you feel right at home even when the place gets busy. While there can be lines during peak times, the food is absolutely worth the wait. They offer a nice variety of poke--honestly, the closest I've found to Foodland in Hawaii! Everything I've tried here tastes fresh and flavorful, and the mac salad is a must-have side. I also love the refrigerators stocked with Hawaiian Suns, Ramune, kimchi, seaweed salad, and other island favorites. I usually come here for lunch or dinner, but they also have tempting island breakfast options I can't wait to try. The bathrooms are clean and well-maintained, which is always a plus. Whenever I'm in the area, this spot is one of my go-to stops to satisfy Hawaiian food cravings.

Yelp
I was visiting my friends in San Diego and I really wanted some poke. Saw this spot reviewed by an online foodie and decided to give it a try. When we arried to the shop, there was a long line. The line moved kind of slow, but it gave me some time to decide on what I wanted. I went with creating my own bowl with 1 single serving of rice and 2 poke. I added an extra small cup of poke. The poke was pretty good, tasted fresh and authentic. My friends ordered like every other poke in the sample cups so I got to try mostly all of their poke. I believe the ones that stood out to me were the spicy ones. The spot was pretty good, but when I come back to San Diego, there are definitely other poke spots I want to try out. I just really did like the fact that you can order sample cups of the poke so you can try every flavor.

Yelp
Have heard so many good things about this spot and my partner and I both tried it today! The poke options all looked soo good and we ended up getting 2.5 lbs of spicy mayo salmon, spicy garlic ahi, and half a pound of Hawaiian salmon The poke was soo good and very fresh, spicy garlic ahi was by far my favorite I could eat the pound by myself! We came in around 12 and it wasn't super busy but that quickly changed as we waited in line

Yelp
I've heard good things about this place and came by on a Sunday for lunch. We ordered three create your own combo poke bowls. The poke was delicious and fresh, and the service is fast even with a line. I ordered an extra seaweed salad because the portion they give you is small. We weren't aware that the salmon poke was +$3 extra a scoop but apparently it was written on a printed out piece of paper on the glass case. I was just looking at the big menu above us when I ordered and I didn't see that indicated there. Next time I'll just get the tuna to save some money lol

Yelp
Great affordable Poke spot in SD. Lots of Hawaii style poke options to pick from. The counter is split between poke ordering and Hawaiian food ordering. Service was fast, it took about 3 minutes for them to assemble your poke plate after you pick your protein options. Generous portion for the build your own plate option. The shoyu salmon and garlic tuna were great options, will be returning to try the other options.

Yelp
The best island style poke you'll find in San Diego! It's so refreshing and they have so many options. I recommend going upon opening because they can sell out quickly. But it's a testament to how delicious they are.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite spot, but lately the prices have gotten way more expensive. There's now an extra upcharge for salmon on top of the original price, and the portions have gotten noticeably smaller. I spent about $60 on two plates with small sides and honestly didn't feel like I got my money's worth. While the poke is fresh, the prices no longer match the quality or quantity you receive. I've started going to 8th and B Poke in National City instead -- their prices are much more reasonable, the portions are generous, and the flavors are just as fresh and delicious (plus no extra charge for salmon).
