Miami’s 13 Essential Food Hall Dishes | Eater Miami

"As crab rolls go in Miami, there are plenty of options to choose from, but Poke San’s version, paired with broken butter and spicy ponzu vinaigrette makes for an over-the-top bite. The rice is seasoned with vinegars fortified with kombu and rolled together with cold kani salad, enhanced by spicy hints from togarashi, sweetness from mirin, and salinity from masago and kewpie. The roll is sliced and served immediately to preserve the temperature contrast between the rice and the kani." - Juliana Accioly

Google
The food is amazing, Chef is a genius, and the vibe was great. Nothing was left on my plate. Crab roll is a must-try here!

Google
A really delicious make your own poke bowl restaurant. Very fresh ingredients, vast options and friendly service.

Been coming here for a long time, years. Got really frustrated when ordering a large and told by the cashier that it would come with more rice and protein. My bowl came with just a couple pieces of salmon ( basically a bowl of rice) some pieces frozen and found a hair in it. Horrible experience had to leave this review and won’t be coming back to poke San. Being a long time customer, definitely doesn’t mean much for them.

Google
A good poke place! The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors were well-balanced. I appreciated the variety of toppings and sauces available, and the portions were satisfying. It's a solid spot if you're craving something healthy and tasty. Would definitely come back. You most order "The Kid"

My counter boy (i’m old enough to be his mother!) was really cute with black and bleach, dyed hair, jewelry, and most likely tattoos that I didn’t pay attention to. Just the kind of kid that would have an intimidating manner in Manhattan. But he had a friendly smile and was really helpful in making my choices for my poke bowl. My bowl with yellowtail was delicious and I felt satisfied and healthy after my meal. They also have a great selection of sparkling beverages without too much sugar another addition that helped me stay healthy.

Service is exceptional, employees treat guests with kindness and food is always ready in an extremely timely and efficient matter. Food is delicious, has some of the best sushi out there. Very enjoyable experience!

Google
This is my go to place for a poke bowl. Everything is super fresh. It's located in the Citadel, which is cool but I usually get my food to go.

Google
Such great food!!! And I’m picky. I’ve been a repeated customer and strictly from uber eats. I order the same dish every time and they were so kind to even go as far as making my birthday special as a repeated customer. Can’t wait to go in person to hug them. 5+ all the time on their end!

Yelp
Wax on bowl was good. I got the large and shared it and still had leftovers for lunch the next day. Staff was nice and answered my questions. Located inside of the citadel which is a cool vibe with a bunch of other places to eat.

Yelp
The Wax On bowl was great but a bit too saucy from the dressing. I got it with half white rice and salad. The salmon was fresh. Came on a Wednesday afternoon and wasn't packed and the food came out quickly. The sushi spot across from them is their sister restaurant but did not get to try anything from there on this visit.

Yelp
I'm not a fan of food courts. But, a few of Miami's hidden gems are located inside halls like the Citadel. Brought by a friend, specifically for a Poke bowl. Very fresh tuna over sushi rice and garnished with wakame, crispy shallots and marinated cucumber, drizzled with eel sauce. As tasty as visually enticing. My only criticism, is next time I order, less cucumber. I like cucumber. But for my preferred taste, the marinade is very sweet, to a point of too distracting. I prefer to let the protein be itself without being overpowered by the sugars. Otherwise, I plan to make this a frequent choice. Also suggested - the crispy rice and the crab rolls. Deliciously well composed!

Yelp
I used to love this place so much! From day 1 I tried the sushi bowls and I would always get the bonsai bowl with lots of extra things added. The good thing is that you add your phone number and your order will be saved for next time so every time we came we just gave our number and pay for the same order over and over. We came today and we did same as always. The bowl came and none of our bowls had the avocado (this had happened to be before when they forget one of the ingredients and I have to stand up and they will say sorry and give it) it always made me mad having to stand up and tell them but that's the reason why I have my saved order. Today I stand up and nicely tell him it's okay I'll wait the guy open 3 avocados (2 we're bad) cuts them and when he is about to hand them to me he checks my order and tells me no you didn't paid for avocados and I say didn't you just repeated my order and he said yes and I tell him I have always had avocados since the first order you can check and he said yes you are right but not this time - I nicely said so if you just repeated all my orders how come didn't have it this time around and he said I don't know but I cant give it to you. (Instead of saying I'm sorry I didn't charged you for it this time or I'm sorry I didn't repeated the order correctly. Do you want to pay extra for it? he just said "I can't give it to you")I was in shock of his rude attitude that I said to him I have never felt so disrespected from anyone like he just did. He was about to hand it to me and said I can't give it to you you didn't order it when it was him repeating an order that is been in his system over and over for the last 2 years. I'm sorry but you lost us as a loyal customer that used to come 2-3 times a month not anymore. I will never be back to be treated with such a bad attitude from an employee. The owner was there too or manager and he didn't even apologized that was the worst. In other times they were nicely and even apologized for their mistake but I never encounter them making the mistake and talking me to with attitude. I would have gladly paid for it if he was nice and admitted it was his mistake but he had the worst attitude when I was so nice to him so NO more! There are plenty places like this in Miami so not coming back here ever again. Your bowls are not $5-$10 for you to treat someone like this!

Yelp
Have ordered delivery here twice now and can officially say this is the best poke bowl I've had in Miami. It's also the best I've had between Miami AND NYC. Yes, it is expensive at $16 a bowl and I recommend getting a preset bowl like "The Kid" to get more bang for your buck. No, I don't care that it's expensive as this is going to be my new treat myself poke. It's not a ton of tuna but a decent size, and all the other ingredients combined make it perfectly portioned and absolutely delicious. Sauces are amazing, tuna is fresh, and they have much better ingredient offerings then other places and a good asian drink selection. I will definitely be trying their bites and crispy rice as I imagine it tastes just as a good.

Yelp
Hello fellow readers ! I would like to say that Poke-San is a pretty awesome establishment! I would say the customer service is 5 stars & the fooooood is pretty much to die for. I've come here 3 different times & I have tried 3 different things on the menu so far. I brought my friends here to come and try this place with me and they agreed that this place is amazing !! The food that I ordered with my friends consisted of "Stuffed butter Crab roll", stuffed onigiri , & a build your own Pokè bowl. I'd say it was priced average. (Not too shabby). The Pokè bowl was about $17-$20. The stuffed onigiri was about $9-$10 & the stuffed butter crab roll was $12. The taste of each item on the menu that I've tried have been pretty epic! My friend told me to try the stuffed butter crab roll and MY GOSH! You are so in for a treat! After you see them making that fresh crab roll, you will be coming back for more.. it comes with a side of butter ponzu (citrus-soy sauce) sauce. When you dip the roll into the sauce and you take 1 bite , you will go straight to heaven. Your taste buds will be so satisfied & you will want to stuff your face. The second thing I tried was the stuffed onigiri. That stuffed onigiri had spicy tuna in the middle and furikake on the outside. When you take that 1st bite you're honestly just going to be so happy & want to savor every piece of this because your tastebuds will explode. Lastly, I made my own poke bowl because I'm originally from Hawaii & I made it to my liking because here in Miami, no one knows how to make a proper Pokè bowl. I had hot rice on the bottom topped with tuna, salmon, edamame, red onion, masago, sesame seeds and togarashi with soy sauce. It was pretty damn good ! But the togarashi was a bit too spicy!!!!! It was weird because I never expected that spicy to come out. Over all, all of these have left a really good taste in my mouth and I'm so excited to try more of Pokè San! The ambiance of this place is amazing ! Pokè san is located in my all time new fave hip spot called , "The Citadel". This concept of a "food hall" is just AMAZING ! Reminds me of the food halls I've been to in London and Argentina. The cleanliness is on deck (especially with Covid-19). All workers are wearing masks & gloves while preparing food. It makes me truly feel comfortable, knowing that the staff at Pokè san and The Citadel are taking all pre-cautions at all cost. Over all 10/10! Please come & enjoy this awesome place! I'll be back!

Yelp
As a seafood snob who grew up in Vancouver, I was happy with the quality but disappointed in the portion size for the price. The $16 Wax On poke bowl (salmon, mango, cucumber, red onion) came with good quality salmon and perfectly pickled veggies. The rice was also sushi quality and perfectly seasoned with sugar & vinegar. However, the amount of salmon wasn't enough - definitely relied on the rice to fill me up. The large $20 bowl would've been more satisfying but seems too pricey - I've had fresher & more filling $16 Chirashi bowls in high-rent cities such as Vancouver, Tokyo and NYC. I do like their Asian drink options such as Chrysanthemum Tea and Ramune Soda (yum Lychee flavor!). But at $4 a pop, also quite an upcharge considering Asian grocery store prices of $1-2.

Yelp
UNREAL fresh poke and great staff! Thank you tons George for your care and diligence while we ordered with family. Must visit!!

Yelp
The presentation was good, however the food needed more flavor. Maybe adding more sauce to the order would've create the perfect combination. I got the small order and added a drink, fresh seaweed, and avocado. Paid $26.54 with the tip.

Yelp
Delicious delicious..: the fish is nice and fresh, the rice is so good that I can eat it by it self . A huge fan of the pickle cucumber , they put a good amount. I order twice last week and not one complain.

Yelp
This is my fav local spot for take-out. I always get the Miyagi BYOB which is amazing. Fish is fresh and portions are plentiful. Today I got the cevichito with plaintain chips - another bullseye. Will continue to come back for more.

Yelp
This place is sooo good! I wish I would've taken a photo before I began eating. The cucumbers and sushi rice are to die for. Everything tastes so fresh and the customer service was easily 10/10

Yelp
BEST butter crab roll around town! They have well proportioned poke bowls that you can customize which I love! The fish is super fresh and flavorful, However, their butter crab roll and their yellowtail onigiri are hands down worth trying this new hot spot! (Located inside of the citadel)

Yelp
We like this place for the fresh, light, healthy flavors. The crispy rice tuna/yellowtail, seaweed salad, and simple/classic bowls are all good. The people who work there are helpful and professional. The prices are fair.

Yelp
Ordered the crispy rice which was soso sadly. It's unfortunate because I enjoy crispy rice but the crispy rice here is oily, overdone and extremely salty. Not what I was expecting at all. Disappointed as this was my first time trying this place at the Citadel. The tuna was great on the crispy rice but that's it.

Claudia P.

Yelp
Excellent poke bowl! I just ate it and want to go back soon. Wish I'd taken a picture for you to see.

Lanette C.

Yelp
Ordered a salmon poke bowl with salad. Delicious!!! Was very fresh and I loved the wasabi Alioli!!

Caroline S.

Yelp
Quality Poke! Fresh and creative with great choices and modifications. If you're not in the mood for a bowl they have great other options like a butter crab roll and crispy rice. Will be back!
