Google
First timer at this location but dedicated Poke lover. Establishment was clean and tidy and cute and I loved how their menu is nice and big on the wall behind the counter as it makes it quick and easy to order. Plenty of choices as well to choose from. They also have preselected bowls you can can choose from and made fresh right there or you can opt in to make your own (me and my bestie did that) you get 4 protein choices. They are very generous with their portions as well so you do get your moneys worth! They also have a sauce of “original” medium and spicy is what we had and definitely good. I like everything spicy so the addition to kimchi on top was perfect. Definitely check this place out - parking can be hectic as they are located next to a Whole Foods but it’s a given especially for anywhere in WC.

The portion of fish is a little less compared to other poke places. The sauce is a bit too salty. Other then that, great service and atmosphere!

OMG. Just tried the pokecado toast. Both flavors. CANNOT GO WRONG. Do you like avocado toast? Do you like poke? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!?!? Killer flavor combos, fresh ingredients, and lots of them. Piled higher than the promotional photos; definitely get at least your moneys worth, maybe more with the toasts. Miso soup out of a machine was kinda bland tho. First time and will ABSOLUTELY return!

This place is in the same complex as Whole Foods. This shopping center is really hard to find parking because of the Whole Foods. I did a custom poke box. The ingredients were super fresh, including the fish. The portions are bigger than they seem and I was only able to eat half and save the rest for later. I also got a dole whip float with POG juice (pineapple orange guava) and it was sooo good. Definitely order 1 to share.

Wow... This place is just amazing. The food is super fresh, the flavors are the best, the guys are incredible. Everything was super clean and nicely presented and prepared. I got the Volcano Crunch and it was spectacular a little too spicy for me but I expected it.

Went here 20 mins before closing and expected a subpar experience but was pleasantly surprised! Still all the options and didn’t look like they were getting ready to close up. Amazing options, great flavors and fresh fish. Try it out if you’re in the area!

The poke is pretty good here, but I’m giving this location three stars because they’re so tight with its portions. Selecting avocado is a $1 extra, no problem, BUT you don’t get even half of the avocado; maybe two chunks if you’re lucky. I had to practically beg for another small chunk from a reluctant staff member. In fact, they are stingy with all of the toppings except the rice. I could barely taste the wasabi citrus sauce. I frequent the Castro Valley location and they pack you up nicely. For nearly $15 a bowl, I except healthy portions. I won’t visit the Walnut Creek location unless it’s an emergency. Mahalo!

Good portions and options. They also subbed a side for me, most places do not do that.

Yelp
I've walked by Pokeatery more than a few times but it always seemed a bit run down, however I finally decided to drop in for a Spam Masubi and a Dole Whip. After walking in and checking their wall menu, they either no longer have Masubi or it's just not listed anywhere. I considered trying a Poke Box, but to be blunt the uncut printer paper taped signs they are currently using to update their menu do not inspire confidence so I ended up deciding just to order their Dole Whip. Now I've had Dole Whip from a few places outside of Disney, including Rachel's Ginger Beer, and it's one of my favorite desserts, but Pokeatery's Dole Whip had an odd sour aftertaste that was unpleasant. I really had to push myself to eat more of it and I ended up throwing most of it out. The service was prompt and friendly, but I just don't see myself going back.

Yelp
I was craving salmon and this was the perfect place. I ordered my personal box. I had white rice, kelp noodles, cucumbers, green onion, seaweed salad, cucumber salad, salmon, spicy ponzu, spicy tempura, cilantro, pickled ginger, kimchi, and edamame. Also had a fresh pineapple juice. All was delish and I was full. The service was fast. The ambiance is all white, enough seating. Seems like most of the traffic they get is to go.

Yelp
Thank you for securely bundling my pick up order! The Spam Musubi and the Build Your Poke Box tasted fresh, and high quality. The Dole soft serve pineapple Float was a delicious refreshing treat. Excellent Value and excellent Service!!

Yelp
Pokeatery is a local chain of restaurants offering customizable poke boxes. I started mine with a base of Citrus Kale and purple Uala Chips, and my favorite components were the sides of Seaweed Salad and Crab & Spicy Crab Salad. My fish choices included salmon, hamachi (yellowtail), and tako (octopus), along with sides of spicy mayo and spicy oyo sauce. I then topped it off with corn, edamame, mango, pineapple, and furikake. Even though I came at the beginning of the day, the ingredients weren't as fresh as they were on my past visits, though the poke box still made for a nice meal overall!

Yelp
Disclaimer: This is only a review of their spam musubi. They had a sign outside advertising their spam musubi so decided to stop by and give it a try. I didn't try the poke, but it looked like your standard mainland type poke bar without marinated fish. The musubi was made to order. The worker scooped a large portion of rice and went to the back. She came back with a small container. In it, was a loosely packed musubi cut in half with sauce drizzled on the top of each cross section. I'm not sure they used a musubi mold, as it was so loosely packed and fell apart as soon as I took a bite. The spam was a thick slice, but not marinated at all, and the sauce was an overly sweet teriyaki. It was a big portion but not worth the $5. The musubis at a 7-11 in Hawaii are cheaper and better. Just make your own at home. I would not come back for the musubi, and just looking at the poke, probably wouldn't give it a try either. Worker was nice, though. Easy parking.

Yelp
.................. Wat is this :/ There are things they got wrong that I didn't even know you could get wrong in poke LOL We placed an order on the kiosk on the side, which pinged the staff behind the counter immediately. The place is vacant... And so eerily quiet... We just waited while the guy worked on various orders until he called out my name. And half our order wasn't ready (!). Simple mistake, no worries-- just corrected him and he went on to fix the order. But that was only the beginning of the end (dun dun dun...) The portions are good, but the stuff inside is so... Weird... First, rice was gummy and had small bits of starch sticking in it (unwashed...). I noticed the seaweed salad was EXTREMELY sweet and wet. Like, dripping wet (?). It tasted strangely artificial even after one bite. And then... The crab salad is dry...! Not a hint of mayo in sight. So the texture was this odd chalky mass. And THEN... The fish was way over-sauced (masking something...?), making everything salty af. What is happening............... I couldn't eat it :( My go-to is usually Poke Bar in Berkeley, but I'm usually tolerant of all types of poke-- seeing Pokeatery fall so short was a surprise to me LOL. I think they need to change their suppliers. Unless this is just a local flavor that I'm not familiar with...

Yelp
Cute little place in the Wholefoods plaza. I liked how there were a lot of different topping options but unlike most other poke places where you order as you go, you have to order at a kiosk and they make it for you behind the counter. Ordering at the kiosk takes a lil time just because there are so many steps to go through so that was a little annoying. The food came out maybe after 10 minutes and it was pretty good! The fish was fresh and the toppings and sauces were mixed very well. However, it isn't outstanding enough for me to return considering we already have a go to place in downtown walnut creek. But not bad!

Christian V.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite poké places in the east bay! I've been here a handful of times and I've enjoyed my food every visit! I like how they have an ordering kiosk to place your order instead of ordering w/ someone and telling them each ingredient to put into your box down the line. The kiosk makes it so much easier and is also perfect for introverts like myself! The fish here always tastes fresh and they have a nice variety to choose from. They also have different base options that not many other poké places have, like the citrus kale and kelp noodles. Their portion sizes are also decent and are the perfect size for me. My go-to sauce combo is the spicy ono and signature medium -- I'm pretty sensitive to spice and this yummy combo is the perfect amount for me. Highly recommend this place to fulfill your poké cravings!

Yelp
I always pass by this place and finally gave it a try. The parking lot is a bit congested because of Whole Foods, but other than that easy access. Super yummy! The lady who made my order was so nice. I created my own bowl. Super fresh fish and ingredients. I did the ahi tuna with spicy mayo and spicy ponzu sauce. Big portions and worth the price and cute outdoor seating. I'd definitely return!

Alan D.

Yelp
Note, this review is more like 3.5 stars. I was charging my car in the nearby parking garage and I had about 30 minutes to kill. It was around lunch time and this place showed up nearby for me. There was no wait, so I was able to place my order really fast. You just go through each step to build your poke bowl, which I found friendly. Food and Drink: It was not as good as I personally thought. My issues with using cardboard/paper containers is that the rice will stick to it. I felt like I lost a bit of my brown rice to that and I don't want to spend some of my time scrapping alongside the walls just to eat. The choices of having 4 protein is nice, since I find that to be the perfect number. However, no free avocado at this place. The sauce selection I had were good. The strawberry lemonade I had alongside it paired nicely. Like the food itself was alright but the price I paid for all this was way more than I anticipated. I spent about $23 or so for this and for the quality and quantity, I can go elsewhere for much less. Probably won't see me coming back anytime soon.

Christina M.

Yelp
Consistently good poke. Pretty generous portions, and they have mango as one of the toppings, which I always appreciate. The red cabbage, which is available, and that I thought was an unexpected topping, is especially delicious. The citrus kale, when it is good, it is great, and when it is not good, sadly, not good at all. The salmon and hamachi are always a sure bet. The shrimp are little succulent, maritime delights and the tobiko is fresh and crunchy.

Kevin W.

Yelp
Huge fan of Pokeatery. Been a regular since they have opened in this location. The work consistent comes to mind when it comes to their offerings. My go-to items would be their Poke Bowl with salmon, crab meat, seaweed salad and all of the mix-ins. I really appreciate that they somehow get the right amount of sauce to topping ratios and that, despite the drive back home, the quality of the items remains fresh. The cost of the Poke Bowl is lower than most of it's competitors, but the containers also appear to be a bit smaller than it's competitors. What I like about this is that I can also have room for a Strawberry Matcha Latte on the side, which makes this place a great balance. I have also ordered the Spam Musubi. It's a bit pricey, as it comes to 1 musubi that is cut into halves. The musubi, however, has a great amount of sauce and furikake sprinkled on top, which is a needed touch.

Melissa T.

Yelp
This is a good place for a quick poke fix! The amount you're paying for the build your own box ($19-$20) is a bit overpriced for the amount of protein you're getting. I did an add-on of avocado, and I thought I would be receiving at least half of an avocado, instead I received a Ferrero Rocher sized ball of avocado. The poke itself was fresh and tasty, but I would've liked a little bit more of a portion! Ordered miso soup as a side and that had no flavor. Not there for the soup, but it needs a little help.

Yelp
Very impressed with the delicious poke that I had here. I have my go-to spot for poke but there's nothing wrong with trying something new. Luckily for me, Pokeatery was a winner! Dropped by on a weekday night after work. I've passed by Pokeatery several times in the past and always wondered about it. Finally made my way inside and the ladies at the front counter were super sweet. There was one young lady who seemed to be in training, but she was being assisted by another associate. Interior-wise, the space is bright and clean. I was actually kind of shocked to see that there was nobody else inside. I came during mid winter last year, so maybe that's why. Not everyone craves for cold fish during the winter season and I can understand why. Menu-wise, they have a good amount of both protein and mix-in options. Their poke box is one size with three scoops of protein but the portions are generous for the price. They have a couple pre-set poke box options, but it seems to be popular to make your own here. I opted for a poke box with two scoops of shrimp and one scoop of Hamachi. Also tried their fresh POG (passion fruit, orange, guava) juice. Everything tasted really fresh, delicious, and flavorful! A lot of times when I try poke spots, I'm often left hungry after eating everything. But here, I left with a full belly that was nice and satisfied. It's hard to believe that this place is actually a chain, but I must say that my experience here was great. So glad that I finally gave them a chance, and I'm excited to come back again for more that fresh poke goodness.

Emily Q.

Yelp
The poke unfortunately wasn't very tasty for it's price of $18. There was also a bone in my fish. The restaurant itself however is spacious and there's plenty of seating.

Jemellee S.

Yelp
My friends have been here before and so I really wanted to try it since I was in the Walnut Creek area. It's on the same shopping center as Whole Foods so no problem finding a parking spot. But if you park around the front of the restaurant be careful backing up because people are not very generous with the road. Staff: So when it's my first time at a place I guess I got spoiled with staff explaining to me how the menu works and what the menu favorites are. So I kinda have high standards in that way. But I'm not a snob. So with that said, I know the menu is in the board and it tells you what to do, but I guess I felt overwhelmed and rushed by the server when I was ordering. She wasn't trying to help me so I kept asking questions. And didn't feel I got a great experience. Not so friendly staff. Food: the food options were great and tasted great. My friend is vegan so I was glad they had vegan options. They had quite a good selection of toppings and they tasted fresh. Price: the price for the amount of food you get is pretty standard. You get enough toppings and protein and it's not skimpy. FYI: Oh so, we did dine in and we were looking for a recycling bin and they didn't have one available (the bin was upside down) so we had to thro away out can and glass bottles.

Yulia P.

Yelp
Our favorite poke place was closed and we decide to try a new place. We ordered a take out that consisted of workout bowl, surfer bowl, kids bowl and custom order. The fish was tasty and fresh. The rice however felt like it was made the day before, stale and crunchy (not in a good way). They also majorly overused the sauce in all bowls, especially in kids bowl!! My child couldn't eat it, it was soaked in sauce and looked like soup. Also the sauce itself in kids bawl tasted like brandy mixed with super salty soy sauce, weird choice for kids. On a plus side, they were generous with fresh veggies and seaweed salad! Probably won't order there again.

Cristina S.

Yelp
This poke restaurant is located in downtown Walnut Creek and is a cute spot to relax for a shopping lunch break. I went in the afternoon and there were people enjoying their meals here. I was welcomed in by an employee and they were able to make my bowl for me. I created my own bowl (pictured below). Each bowl is $14.95, which is not bad for food in the area. I do think that this isn't the best poke that you can get in the East Bay. While the fish is fresh, my bowl lacked flavor and after comparing my bowl to the ones I see on yelp, I definitely did not get as much in my bowl as everyone else. Overall, not the best poke place in my opinion, but decent.

Reyna C.

Yelp
My office will order from here on DoorDash every so often. The pros: They have really quick service and there is a lot you can customize. The spicy crab is really good. There is a ton of toppings/sauces/additions you can put in your bowl. Makes every time a little different. Love that. The only cons I've experienced so far is the spam musubi. I've never eaten in the store, just through DoorDash so maybe the musubi just doesn't travel well. But it's ok. Really not worth it though. It's cut a little small so the first bite and it's already falling apart. But the biggest disappointment is that the spam isn't cooked or seared at all. Just a slice from the can. Still tastes ok but makes definitely a difference. I wouldn't get jt again.

Sunil R.

Yelp
I like this chain. They get plus points for having chips as a base which is unique. The fish was very fresh and tasty and the toppings were plenty and also fresh. It also appears to be cheaper and a better value than the other chains. This location is right off the highway and the young staff was very attentive and cheerful.

Stephanie P.

Yelp
Definitely delicious poke but a little salty. I just wish portion sizes were a bit bigger. Cute decor and nice staff.

Jeffrey T.

Yelp
Clean place and near Whole Foods and Kaiser so right in the thick of everything. The servers are pretty quick and they give you a good selection of toppings and food. Depending on who you get, you'll get more protein but it's a pretty good amount for the price. Especially in Walnut Creek where lunch costs an arm and a leg. Mix up your sauces and go heavy on your toppings.

Michael E.

Yelp
Pretty good poke bowls. The staff here was nice. The restaurant was pretty clean. Good place for lunch.

Jennifer N.

Yelp
I had my first lunch with a friend after we were both vaccinated at Pokeatery this week. When we decided to meet up, this was the first place we both suggested. We call it the "fancy poke place" since they feature bases of kelp noodles and ulua chips in addition to an array of the most diverse toppings of any our local poke places. The prices aren't fancy, though-they're on par with other local poke places. As of 06/10/21 they had a few tables indoors and about 3 outdoor tables. Most customers were taking it to go and there was a steady line for lunch in the hour or so we sat and ate our bowls there. Excellent quality of veggies and the 4 step process in building your bowl is easy. Staff is wonderful and taking all safety measures. I also enjoy their minimalist decor and free & easy parking in the same plaza as Whole Foods. Review #33 of 100 goal review in 2021

Yasmin A.

Yelp
I'd still go back because I love poke bowls! The place is next to Whole Foods , so there's lots of parking. Clean and appealing Pros. More options for your base. Nice clean bathroom , more options to choose from. Salmon was good. Con. No pricing upfront, lady is is skimpy with the portions and I felt like she was rushing me. Tuna can be fresher. $19 for a bowl.

Isabella L.

Yelp
*a review during the COVID-19 pandemic* It's been a while but I'm happy that this place is around since it's one of my favorite poke place in my area! When I arrived you order from two tablets on the side and they call your name when it's ready. I built my own bowl but they also have 6 signature bowls you can choose from. They also get extra praise from me for not using plastic take-out containers! I can't wait to return!

Mariah K.

Yelp
I really love this place so much. Fresh, quality ingredients. It's really close to my work so I love to come get my lunch here. They have pickled ginger which I LOVE so I always get extra. I came around 11 today and it was completely empty. Great flavor, it's fresh and almost any ingredient is available to make your preferred bowl. Definitely try this place out!

Debbie W.

Yelp
This review is not for their poke but rather other items on their menu. It's hot and I had a craving for Dole pineapple whip and the Pokeatery is one of the few places that offers it in the bay area (yes you don't have to drive all the way to Disneyland to enjoy this). It did not disappoint. Sorry I couldn't resist when I got it - ate some before taking a photo but the plastic dome was completely ful when served. Perfect for a hot day. ($3.50) When I walked in - I also saw a poster for spam musubi so I decided to try it since it's one of my favorite snacks. It was made on the spot and still warm. ($4.00 for the 2 pieces). The rice had some teriyaki sauce which gave it more flavor and who doesn't like spam? They offer indoor dining now. No wait as it was 40 minutes before closing.

Zorina A.

Yelp
Hubby and I were craving poke and found this place with great reviews and pictures looked very appealing. It's located in a shopping center near downtown Walnut Creek. Two reserved parking spaces just for this place, right in front. We came at 6pm and no one there. Although people started coming in after us. You can place your order with the staff or use their tablet at the entrance to place your own order. Very easy to use and promptly made. I used the tablet while my husband ordered with the staff. You can build your own or pick from a variety of bowls that have a mix of ingredients. Husband and I both picked build our own bowls. I tend to feel rushed when you build your own poke bowls but because they weren't busy, the girl took her time with my husband when he had questions. The other worker immediately started on my order once I placed it. I forgot to take pictures of the ingredients area but everything looked fresh. Everything tasted soooo good and definitely was fresh. The salmon and ahi tuna were so soft. Portion size was about right for $17 with tax. Indoor was cutely decorated and clean. They have two smal tables out front which is where we sat since it was warm outside.

Jason J.

Yelp
Ok so my wife and I went to our usual Poke place today, and low-and-behold it was closed! So we looked up this place (Pokeatery) and gave it a shot. First off, please forgive the photos, I was so hungry I completely forgot to take a picture before I had a few bites! Anyway, this place has excellent flavor! Their sauces are delicious and they have a good variety. They have a great selection of poke toppings, and have all the usual (and fresh) proteins. The place is low-key, calm decor, and a pleasant place to eat. I think my only complaint here is that my wife and I both felt they were a little stingy with each protein scoop. (I mean c'mon guys, at least make it a heaping tiny ice-cream scoops worth!) Other than the skimpy protein, this place was great. I'd eat here again. Thanks for reading my review!

Zsa-Zsa N.

Yelp
I needed to kill time before my appointment and since I'm not familiar with the area my sister suggested this place. I like the Pokeatery chain and this one was cute and clean. I got one of their signature poke bowls- The Surfer, but changed my base to brown rice. The fish and toppings were all fresh. I always think I won't be able to finish but I alway do. I was so happy to see that they served Dole whips and without hesitation ordered the Dole float with POG juice. SO GOOD!!!!

dan a.

Yelp
food is fine but AVOID THE DUDE AT ALL COSTS! been here a few times and the young woman who works there is usually fine, but this last time a new dude was working and the dude hella short changes you on the protein scoops like you stealing his lunch or sumthin! the scoopers they use are already small as it is, and the homie doesn't even fill the damn scoop! i asked him about it to give him a chance to fix it, and he refused! at $18+ dollars each you NEVER get your money's worth with this guy.

Kathleen K.

Yelp
Wonderful poke.... absolutely fresh ingredients and customized to your taste. Service is great and I like the fact you can choose a smaller portion if you have a smaller appetite.

Alyssa A.

Yelp
I've seen Pokeeatery on my social media pages in the past and was excited to see it was in my local area! When I walked in the place was pretty tame and quiet. The space was clean, open and welcoming. While ordering I observed the ingredients looked fresh and ready to eat. Only critique was the presentation of how the food was made. End result made it look like random food was thrown together. Might just be me but I always eat with my eyes first!

Laura E.

Yelp
Another great poke spot in Walnut Creek! Love the uala chips, along with the usual poke proteins and toppings. Pokeatery is the first place I've been to that has uala chips as a base, and I've been to several poke spots in the east and South Bay. Ordering on the iPad is super convenient and my order was ready within minutes. I also came here for the free Dole Whip as a frequent rewards member, which I am enjoying as I write this review. :) They even have boba per the pics on their door, but I have yet to try them. I'm in this part of town every week - not sure if that's good or bad LOL! I will be back!

Kristen G.

Yelp
SO GOOD! This is our go to Poke spot in Walnut Creek. Always fresh and delicious. It's a bit pricey but the bowls are generous portions.

Maria T.

Yelp
Old posting. I forgot to post the day I ordered. 1. Spam musubi - pretty small but good 2. Build your poke box- pretty good portions Ordered spam, crab and shrimp Ingredients were fresh. First time trying it out. Would order again.

Samantha C.

Yelp
3.5 stars- for the service, but the food was good! Forgot to take a picture, because I was so hungry! But this place is really good, especially on hot day! They are currently doing indoor dining. The fish was fresh! Really easy menu set up, just had to follow the instructions along the way. The only thing was the girl was rushing us, even though we were the only people in line. I was a bit bummed they didn't have masago. They said they have been out for months

Mark A.

Yelp
I've had a lot of poke since they've been popular. Poke eatery is probably one of the best out there. They always have good portions and the fish is always fresh. They have a lot of selections to add for their bowls. Nothing bad to say about any of the poke eateries I've been too. I took my parents here for their first time having poke and they loved it. Their places is always clean.

Larry M.

Yelp
Really good quality ingredients, always super fresh. Kinda confusing how to order... if you're looking at the menu, you think it's like most poké places, but it's kinda confusing when you get to the proteins and toppings what you can/can't get, and what is extra. Once you figure it out it's okay. I've been trying to order 'remotely' and someone else is picking up, maybe when I go in, it'll make more sense.

John M.

Yelp
I visited this pokeatery after frequenting their other location in Castro Valley (which seems to have closed down as of September 2023). I loved the CV location. Pokeatery gets the most important thing right; the fish is fresh. I stacked my poke bowl with Hamachi, Salmon, and Tuna. Hamachi was my favorite because of good texture and buttery but not fishy flavor. Salmon was second fav, tuna third but still good. Bc Tuna was a little fishy. Portions were a little small especially for the price, but can't complain. Will return

Jessica E.

Yelp
Poke has become a staple in my life like it has for so many other folks. The combination of flavors and the customizable options of it make it a unique experience every place I go. Pokeatery lived up to my expectations of a good poke bowl, and I fear I will be back here every day! The build your own bowl was $16. I think this is fairly average for poke. Being vegan can be boring at poke places. Luckily, pokeatery strives to provide excellent options for everyone. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw "vegan shrimp" on the menu. Like what?!! And at no extra cost! I've never had real shrimp, but this vegan shrimp was delicious and not at all rubbery like some vegan substitutes are. They also had raw and fried tofu, so if you're not keen on vegan shrimp you still have plenty of options. All the ingredients tasted fresh and the mango was delicious and sweet. I really enjoyed their seaweed salad too! Although I didn't get full service as I ordered ahead on doordash, the gals working there were very nice while I was picking up my food! Overall, if you find yourself in Walnut Creek looking for poke, Pokeatery is your go to!

Peter C.

Yelp
We will no longer support this establishment and it due to SERVICE. We was here sometime today and there were the same two female workers (one tall and one short), who is still there since the last time we visited this establishment (back in Aug 2020). The reason why it took us this long to give this place another chance is because we've thought things may improved, but we were wrong because services still remain the same. The short lady who was preparing our poke boxes in the beginning (of the line) seems to be ok, BUT towards when we were at the sauce stage; that's when was having a hard time following instructions. She added additional sauce into my protein mix, which I did not asked for... but I let that slide since it was too late, and i am ok with the additional sauce in it. But once the bowl moved to the Topping stage, that's when the Tall female worker took over... and this is where it went down hill. I complained back in August how SLOPPY she was prepared our bowls... and yet, things has not change with her. She just wanted to get the task done and over-with instead of putting some attention and care in preparing the bowl in front of us. I'm just disgusted on how our food was prepared, and no longer had an appetite. The same experience we had back in August 2020, still remains the same today. We supported this establishment ever since it was open, and we noticed that there are always new staffs... but the current staffs that they have right now is just the final straw for us. There are plenty of poke places out there.

Yelp
Fresh and delicious! I love the "assembly" line type of ordering concept. We had a poke bowl with Ahi Tuna and crab and the Volcano.

Yelp
Pokeatery is a small, chain Hawaiian restaurant with locations throughout the Bay Area and in Austin, Texas. The restaurant specializes in poke and pokecado toast. Like most poke spots, they are best known for a Build Your Own Poke Bowl. They offer traditional ingredients and a few special offerings, such as citrus kale, spicy garlic edamame, cabbage slaw, and crispy jalapeños. The ingredients were fresh, and portions were generous without being overwhelming. Price point is more expensive than other poke locations in the region. I'll definitely try the pokecado toast during my next visit. Yum!

Yelp
One of the better Poke spots I've been to in awhile. The staff wasn't too friendly but the food was good. 4 proteins and a bunch of fresh toppings. You don't get too much of any protein but at least you get a lot of variety.

Yelp
Sustainable, good portions, and LOTS of choices!!! Pokeatery stands out as a poke spot due to their trendy side options and sustainability. I was most impressed with their huge selection of toppings (all the different crunchy toppings especially!). My favorite protein is the hamachi which is not easy to find at poke spots. The kelp noodles were a very crunchy texture but were not able to hold any of the sauce flavors so I'd recommend brown rice instead if you're looking for a crunch that also absorbs the flavors from the sauces. Although it's fantastic that Pokeatery uses comparable containers, my container got moist and kind of soaked through due to the nature of the ingredients. I'm not sure if a better way to address this if they want to continue using biodegradable containers. Perhaps doubling up on the containers to prevent leakage? Overall, one of the best poke places around.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I were walking around the Broadway Plaza and we were both craving poke. There are a few poke places in Walnut Creek - Pokeatery is the highest-rated - so we decided to give it a try and we both loved it! You can build your own poke box for $12.50 (four scoops of protein). The portion sizes are very generous. We decided to share one serving and we both left full. They also don't skimp with their toppings so ask for many! We got brown rice and the scoop was massive. For our protein, we got ahi tuna and salmon. The fish was fresh and tasty - I give the salmon a slight edge over the tuna. The fish wasn't salty at all and the flavors with the sauce and mix-ins blended well together. Very satisfying and healthy. They have self-serve water and a TV playing the game. Plenty of seating inside. Pokeatery shares a plaza with Whole Foods, so parking may be limited (there is 20-min parking out front). A great casual spot to eat something quick while you are doing your shopping. A little on the pricey side but the four scoops of protein make up for it (most poke places only give you two or three). Will definitely be back to try the Dole Whip!

Yelp
Good poke-bowl, on par ingredients and kelp noodles (soo good). My beef is with the matsubi. Their online menu pictured 3 whole matsubi and what we got one matsubi cut in half...for 4 dollars!!!! It's one slice of spam and some rice for 4 dollars!!! If they were up front about it, I would be fine with it, but I just feel like I got played... I realize spam is expensive atm, but this seemed to be intentionally misleading :/
