"Pokéworks’ menu includes a number of pre-designed bowls, such as the Hawaiian Ahi (Ahi tuna, cucumber, sweet onion, hijiki seaweed, edamame, Pokéworks classic sauce, chili flakes, seaweed salad, green onion, sesame seeds, and seasonal crunch) and the Yuzu Ponzu Salmon (Atlantic salmon, cucumber, sweet onion, pineapple, cilantro, ponzu fresh sauce, seaweed salad, green onion, sesame seeds, and onion crisps). Customers can also go the DIY route by choosing a base (a bowl with white or brown rice, a wrap with white rice and seaweed, or a salad with chopped romaine and spring mix), up to five proteins (various seafood, chicken, and tofu options), vegetable and fruit mix-ins, flavorings and sauces, and toppings (seaweed salad, pickled, ginger, toasted rice puffs, and more)." - Monica Williams

Food portion seemed smaller than usual. Flavor was bland. Tuna didn't taste the best. Store was out of some toppings as well.

Google
I ordered from here through DoorDash. Honestly it was a decent Poke Bowl but I chose two proteins, Ahi Tuna and Spicy Tuna. I barely saw the spicy tuna but there were enough Ahi Tuna. I will order again sometime soon and I hope this time they make it right.

Google
Went in for a work meeting and while it's not the best place for this event, the food was tremendous. The service was really friendly. Parking is kind of a pain, but it was high peak lunch time so I suppose that is to be expected. I'll definitely come back and get another bowl, the regular size w Hawaiian ahi was the perfect size to feel satisfied without being full and at 660 calories, well worth it.

Jenny Melick

Google
Messed up order. No spicy tuna. Tasted very bad

Google
I really am glad I came here, been wanting to try this place for a while have seen them around here and there. I ended up getting build your own burrito option, great choice! It's a nicer quick option that many other restaurants you find. I love the fresh fish provided and you can get is seared too yum!

Google
I had the most pleasant experience at Pokeworks in Troy, MI. The manager was Fantastic. He help me build my bowl with all the great food pics... When I tell you, it was Delicious!! Rather than looking aggitated because I couldn't make up my mind he was very patient... He gave Great customer service. I will definitely be back. Thank you

Christine

Google
So delicious! Definitely coming back. Tons of options and everything tasted very fresh. Indoor / outdoor seating options. Parking is easy. Also worth noting that the staff is super friendly! Greeted when I walked in, had some laughs with the girl who served me, and left with a smile. Good vibes here.

Google
This is an amazing spot for lunch! totally recommend the umami ahi as it is one of the best bowls they offer. workers are always helpful and very friendly as usual!

Yelp
The food has always been good here whenever we have WALKED IN AND ORDERED THE FOOD FACE TO FACE. We decided to try online ordering today. The online ordering process was very easy and we felt confident that the food would be made correctly, but boy were we wrong. One bowl was made perfect, except for the fact that it was missing sauce. The other bowl we ordered was on the complete other end of the spectrum. For this second bowl I ordered masago, which is an extra cost, and never received any. Along with this, this bowl was supposed to have heavy sauce, but it was so dry that I had to add my own sauce from home. To top it off, I found pieces of pineapple in this bowl, which I never ordered because I am HIGHLY allergic to it. This has to be one of the most disappointing trips to Pokeworks ever because we have absolutely loved this place in this past. When I order something online, I shouldn't have to dig through it before I take it home to make sure it was done the way I requested it online. Not sure if we will be back after this, especially after I received food in my bowl that I never asked for and am severely allergic to.

Riley K.

Yelp
anastasia is the best worker there, she was very kind and respectful, she seems like a hardworking young lady!

Michael T.

Yelp
Better than I expected. You get two proteins ranging from spicy tuna to salmon to even lobster for $13.95. Or you can try their premade bowls which probably isn't bad. Their selection for carbohydrates include rice, salad, kale noodle (interesting!), brown rice. They have many toppings. They were not annoyed that I got basically all of them, lol. Dressings not bad. The flavors mixed well. Pricing not unreasonable. I'll be back

Wendi K.

Yelp
Fresh, filling, delicious, customizable. I got the two protein sushi burrito (about $13-14 after tax). My only nit is I wish the ingredients were distributed better - they were sort of clumped on so I'd get like a huge bite of ginger in the middle. Located in a small industrial area.

Timothy G.

Yelp
I mean the food was pretty good on and off the past few years. But holy cow look at that spam musubi. Inflation must have hit the spam market pretty hard. Just make them at home yourself.

Marissa C.

Yelp
Again I came here for a quick lunch and it did not disappoint! I would recommend selecting your own ingredients if you are familiar with eating poke, if not they do have pre selected bowls that are pretty good! I feel like they did a good job of separating peanuts/tree nuts and directing me through the selection process. Overall this is a very solid poke place, I would just recommend more sauce on the side but I like things a little saucy

Elizabeth E.

Yelp
A decent stop, overall not the best I've had but not a bad option. The staff was great and very helpful! The inside of the store was nice and the food was pretty okay. My main qualm was with the rice base, it wasn't the sticky rice consistency I'm use to, the sauce options left more to be desired- like a basic spicy mayo or eel sauce though it's possible I missed those- and the toppings had a good range but not great. Overall if you're looking for a good spot around Troy it's not a bad choice, I'm just picky with Poke! Bonus: the prices are really decent!

Jennifer W.

Yelp
I've been to this location several times, and this is the first time I've had the poké prepared as a burrito. I chose shrimp and salmon for the protein. For veggies, I added cucumber, red onion, green onion, and carrots. Spicy mayo is always my sauce of choice. The burrito was delicious. Pokeworks has fresh quality ingredients, and I'll continue to return to this business. I just wish it was closer than 30 minutes to my home.

Katie H.

Yelp
This is my favorite place for poke bowls. The interior is always fresh and clean and the workers constantly are friendly and polite. DEFINITELY try the Hawaiian bowl!

Stacey N.

Yelp
Love the poke bowls here. Fresh ingredients and great variety. Love that I can create my own combinations.

Lilly P.

Yelp
I was craving a poke burrito and live very close to here so decided to give it a shot. I ordered ahead on the app, and my burrito was ready by the time I showed up. The food was fresh, and I will definitely be going back the next time I'm craving poke!

Tonee S.

Yelp
Fresh! Delicious! Let's be honest. Poke May mean different things to different people. To me, it's a form of deconstructed sushi. And I LOVE IT for that reason. Ingredients were fresh. Flavors bright and bold! Everything in harmony. Great portions per price. Love love love. Place is clean and inviting. Customer service on point! Will be back!

Joseph S.

Yelp
Quick and mobile orders are done on time 80% of the time. Employees are quick to acknowledge you

Marty K.

Yelp
Great service and food with great options, especially the lobster bowl. It is also nice seeing the owner around too!

Amy L.

Yelp
One of my favorite poke places I've been to so far. They have a ton of different options and toppings, you should definitely try to build your own bowl. I haven't tried one of their preset bowls, but I'm sure they're good too. It's also a really great price for everything too!

Amy T.

Yelp
Best food, best service and clean with clean bathrooms. We all know this is a plus! Go get a Poke Bowl you'll be addicted like the rest of us.

Karmen F.

Yelp
I haven't tried poke since living in Southern California so I am glad to see it made it's way to the Midwest. First off, the basics. I am vegan so I am not the typical poke order. I don't enjoy tofu chunks so my bowl is always all vegetable based. I was happy to see a variety of toppings and add ins are available. Despite not adding the typical "protein" to my bowl, it was still full and I had plenty to choose from when creating my bowl. The ingredients looked and tasted fresh, the flavors were great and the sweet shoyu sauce was the exact flavor I was looking for. Pickup order went smoothly, order was ready as promised and the staff was very friendly. What could've been better. I ordered two bowls as a pickup order via their app for lunch. Missing from my order was the extra sauces and one of the bowls was supposed to be half rice half salad but instead was all rice and in a smaller container than the other bowl in my order. I checked the receipt and it shows everything correctly so human error, it happens, no big deal. Thankfully there was still some sauce and it wasn't an error that affected any allergies. I'll be sure to double check all the orders before leaving next time but when it's lunch time and in as busy of a parking lot/area as this place is, I prefer to be in and out quickly with the correct order. It would also be helpful if the app or website explained what the sauces were. I am sure in store they can explain but when ordering online it was hard to tell if you're not familiar, especially with their house sauce. Overall I am super impressed with the flavors and freshness and will definitely try Pokeworks again!

Caitlyn C.

Yelp
I was very excited to try this place as I've been trying to find a good poke restaurant in troy however it just wasn't my favorite. I'm a big spicy mayo and eel sauce fan - but there was no eel sauce and a spicy aioli instead of spicy mayo which was a little disappointing to me. The tuna and salmon just didn't seem like they were the best quality, and the spicy aioli just completely overpowered the bowl so I ended up just tossing it. The rest of the ingredients were fresh and tasty, I just think me not enjoying some of the flavors was more of a personal preference. Hoping I can try something different on the menu next time and have a better experience!

Amy H.

Yelp
I love poke and was so excited to come here for the first time. My five person party and I all agreed that it was just okay. The flavors of the sauces were good and the restaurant itself was clean. The staff was not overly friendly but also not rude or anything negative. BUT the rice was mushy and the amount of protein per bowl was super small. You can pay for extra but once you start to do that it adds up! I can't get over the bland flavor and soft texture of the rice though... I would definitely skip over this next time and try something else.

Kat T.

Yelp
My family went for lunch and my husband doesn't eat sushi. There were good alternatives for him to choose. My son and I designed our own poke bowls and they were delicious. Only complaint is seating is not comfortable. It's not a place you would be inclined to linger.

Jessica W.

Yelp
This is my first experience with poke. I have heard about it for so long and I have been dying to try it. I am definitely hooked! It was so delicious and I can't wait to go back. I want to try all of the signature bowls and then eventually make my own bowl and add all of my favorite toppings. This time I had the spicy ahi tuna! I love spice! If o had one issue is that I would love it to be even more spicier. I also didn't like that bottled water was $2.50. I could buy a whole case at that price! I'm actually going to buy a case of water and keep it in my car (at least through the winter months), just for occasions like this when the bottled water Is too pricy for me.

Joey K.

Yelp
My go to for a good healthy meal. Tough to find a poke place you can trust but their tuna and salmon are always fresh along with the other non seafood options. Service is quick and the place is clean.

Saphace A.

Yelp
We ordered online and it was ready much quicker than we anticipated! Not bad on prices and the food is fresh. I've had better poke though...Flavors we're fine, but I needed more? Not sure what was missing. Generous amount of rice and love how they packed all of it in the bowl. Problem is that it was packed so tight that it made it hard to eat without spilling when you try to mix it up. Still, looks like it's a popular place! We tried the tuna but I'm sure the other bowl options may be amazing since lots of customers were coming in and out during the lunch hour!

Gina P.

Yelp
my bf and I have been going here a lot recently and we have had good experiences every time! staff has always been super friendly and place is kept clean. food is fresh and so delicious, and the prices aren't bad. I always enjoy my meal. the interior is nice to sit in as well!

Mark B.

Yelp
I have cravings for poke every now and then and this place always does a solid job of filling that craving. I can't say it's the best poke I have ever had but it's definitely good and fills my need. It is super easy to order online and place your order and oftentimes the food is ready quicker than expected. They have a nice variety of options to pick from when it comes to customizing your bowl. I have also seen that they have seasonal specials with different flavors which I feel is pretty unique for poke places. Out of the times I have been here I have always had good experiences and the food has always been solid. The pricing isn't too bad either which I know can get pretty expensive when it comes to fresh fish. Overall this is a solid poke joint and they definitely do a good job with their bowls here.

Whitley K.

Yelp
I love this place! A great spot to grab a filling and delicious lunch! I typically get the bowls. They're generous with portions and I feel like you get a good amount of food for the price. If i had to recommend somthing, i would reccomend the Spam Musubi! Also, the service is always helpful and welcoming. specially the owner.

Yelp
John Christie and Raven Are absolutely amazing. John in particular is very high-level and knows how to build good customer relationship because a few times I came there he remembered me and he even knew what I like to order. That tells you that he's not just working there just to work there or something just to sell he really cares about the customer service experience on top of the great food they provide. All of your suggestions since they open When I started coming here has been excellent thank you John and your amazing staff I continue to come here with my friends and family.

Nicole E.

Yelp
Ended up getting some carry out from here for our dinner. It's right next to the great Greek restaurant. I like that you can build your own bowl, burrito or salad here. Pick up to 3 proteins. 1/2 of the bowl is rice, keep that in mind. My hubby ordered the preset Signature ginger chicken bowl, he ordered it just as it is listed on the menu. I built my own with tofu, chicken and crab salad and added edamame, sesame seeds, green onions, cucumbers, onions and the sriracha aioli. My build my own bowl was tasty and all of proteins, veggies and the sriracha aioli all melded well together. My hubby enjoyed his sweet ginger chicken. I still liked my build my own over their ginger chicken, way better. The ginger chicken does have some spicy kick though.

Rodrigo T.

Yelp
Since I know how to make my own #Poke . We rarely go out for this stuff. BUT since our out of town guests we're fancying it. @pokeworkstroy it is then. The Poke was pretty good and hella fresh. We got the large #Albacore bowl which was super good with the 3 scoops. Our side #MisoSoup was interesting with the garlicky floaty balls, but still delish. The #SpamMusubi was also divine. I'd definitely eat here again if given the chance. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!!

Anthony N.

Yelp
Great fresh food. Nice people behind the counter. The salmon bowl is my go to and I've never been disappointed. Large selection of toppings and sauces.

Eric D.

Yelp
Experience: A couple of friends and I were visiting Detroit and were in the mood of poke bowls. That being said, we came across this place. It is also good to note that this location is a bit of a drive from Detroit, but by pure observation, you could definitely make a day out of it and explore the area. Parking: The business shares a multi level garage complex with other restaurants. With that said, depending on the day and hour, it could be difficult trying to find a spot. However, the garage is free so that is a huge plus! Worth: Sure, if you are by the area, give this place a try. I had a large poke bowl and I had no complaints. However, what disappointed me was the spam musubi. It is actually served premade and fairly cold. It was ashamed because I knew it was good if it was actually heated up at least. Both items are pictured below. Overall, the place was decent if you are in the mood for poke bowls.

Dorothy W.

Yelp
Yummm! Poke works is my favorite go to poke place! Fish is fresh and the sauces are flavorful! I always create my own and get white rice with spicy tuna and 2x salmon, and then I usually mix it up with the vegetables and toppings! For the sauce- Siracha aioli, pokeworks classic, and the sweet chili gochujang is my favorite combo!

Christal P.

Yelp
Poke in the Midwest. Not the most appealing thought for a self-proclaimed poke snob who spent years in Hawaii eating fresh caught sashimi grade ahi and salmon. With that in mind, beggars can't be choosers, and my craving for poke was enough for me to give Pokéworks in Troy a chance. Pokéworks offers good modernized poke suited to mainland tastes. Although the fish isn't sashimi grade, it tastes fairly fresh. My Shiso Salmon bowl with ponzu sauce was light and refreshing. The Hawaiian Classic Bowl came with ahi and more traditional toppings including Hawaiian salt, seaweed, roasted sesame oil, and sesame seeds. The large size is very filling, and there are a myriad of toppings to customize one's bowl. Check-in on Yelp and receive a free Dole Whip with li hing mui powder. Dole Whip is the best soft serve I've ever tasted, and I'm glad to see that Pokéworks carries it. Pokéworks' version lacks the tanginess of the authentic Dole Whip found on Oahu, but it comes close. There is also miso soup and garlic spam musubi for sale. Service is friendly, and the restaurant is bright, inviting, and clean. It is located in a new strip mall with ample parking. Pokéworks is a godsend for fans of Hawaiian cuisine. Where else in the Detroit metro area will you be able to find poke, Dole Whip, and spam musubi in one place? I can now get my poke fix without waiting a year for my next trip to Hawaii.

Michael M.

Yelp
Food was delivered timely, accurately, and was fantastic. No complaints. Great healthy poke bowl option.

Valerie C.

Yelp
Delicious and friendly staff. Satisfies my Hawaiian poke cravings. Could only be better if they had palm trees.

Yae Sul J.

Yelp
Yes!!!!!! Finally!!!! I was so happy to find out pokeworks is finally in Michigan!! I used to go to get this for my poke cravings in nyc and was super excited that I get to have this once again! I have been coming here religiously with my poke buddy every week! Nothing else can satisfy my like bowl cravings! I used to be a full on sushi rice lady but since I have learnt of the kale noodles, decisions have been tough... HOWEVER you can do half and half!!!! So best of both worlds. I usually get the 2 protein bowl and make my own. Which is sort of nice when you know what flavors you like and stuff, if you're new to it and cautious there are other things on the menu they have to help you get into the world of poke! Suggestions of sorts of what goes well with what. For me: it's always salmon + a type of tuna. Ahi tuna is pretty popular but the other one is also seasoned really well and does hit the spot. I put almost everything in and they are really generous with their portions so it's a +++!! I mix 2 sauces (sweet chili gochujang + umami sauce) with wasabi on the side to mix - I am a sucker for spicy food (I also do not skip on the jalapeños) They also have pineapple soft serve, which we had a taste of and it is super delicious!! Note to self: I do sort of want to try the sushi burrito !

Julie P.

Yelp
Great place with friendly staff and really good food! The spicy ahi tuna is great! All very flavorful! Thank you!!

Aubrianna H.

Yelp
OH THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!!! I will be back time And time again. I was a first timer and they really explained and let me try everything. The restaurant was clean and plenty of seats. Even the manager was there and did his part. Everything tastes and looked so fresh. It's more expensive then your regular quick food (not fast food filled with fat but quick healthy) but worth every penny. Plus it's fish so that puts the price up. Cheaper then if you got all that at a sushi place in a roll or two. The different soft drink blends tasted delicious, yes i tried every single one. Plus they use paper bags not plastic!

Bob L.

Yelp
While food might be good, staff sleepwalking their way around. Standing here for 8 mins, no one acts like I am here... Going to leave in a couple of minutes if they don't get their act together...

Michael R.

Yelp
THE BEST POKE I have had. So many toppings. Everyone was so kind and friendly. Great prices as well.

Morgan K.

Yelp
I've had a couple bowls here that were quite good, but todays bowl was filled with extremely mushy rice that was extremely unappetizing and made the bowl difficult to eat and enjoy. My toppings were scarce and the bowl was made up mostly of the mushy rice. Super disappointed.

Joleen E.

Yelp
I love Poke fish. Its a nice meal when you want something fresh and light. This place, when it first opened, was really good. I liked coming down to Troy and eating here every now and then. I ordered takeout today and I was surprised. I got the "Make your own" version. The salmon tasted like it was "ice burnt" (To summarize, it tasted like old ice cubes and it made me nauseous) and the rice was super chewy and clumpy. I looked at the counter food area through the glass and it looked a bit dirty.. I'm not sure if there was a rush before hand, it did not look appetizing.

Eden L.

Yelp
Thanks Roy for the amazing service! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was so positive. :)

Boss C.

Yelp
The food was not good maybe it was because of my food pallet not sure but I didn't care for the uncooked fish. Not my favorite...

Mindy R.

Yelp
I tried Pokeworks for the first time today for lunch. I ordered the Umami Ahi bowl. Delivery was so quick. I think it was probably less than 20 minutes from the time I ordered to the time it was at my work. The bowl was absolutely outstanding. So flavorful and fresh. This was my first time ever trying a poke bowl, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I know that I will be ordering from here regularly.

Diana V.

Yelp
It's currently 10:50 am. My friend and I asked the worker what time they opened. She rudely said 9. We were asking 9am? No response. Then we asked are u guys open? She kept ignoring us. And then we asked again for the 5th time and she said no we're not open. and just bring so rude I don't understand never have I ever treated people that way.

Teresa I.

Yelp
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE PokeWorks. Our office orders weekly, the service is great and the food is delicious every time. I highly recommend this restaurant. Troy Location.

eve k.

Yelp
Delicious! I order from here AT LEAST twice a month. Everything is fresh, it is quick and their to go orders are accurate. Most of the food I end up ordering and eating are super fried and cheesy but Pokeworks gives my waistline a break They have vegan options and you can choose if you want a base of white rice or greens!

Angela T.

Yelp
I was hesitant to try poke because I don't like raw fish and I thought that there'd only be raw options. I was wrong; months later, I love poke and always get shrimp! They also have vegan options, like tofu. This is my favorite poke place, I've highly recommended it to all of my friends. I've been here many times and each time has been very tasty and enjoyable. I'll add some pictures from a couple of times that I have been here. The protein, add ons and sauce choices here are innumerable! The shrimp is really good and I usually get a regular bowl, which consists of 2 scoops, they also offer a large (3). The umami shoyu and pokeworks classic are my favorite sauces, I mix them together. I don't know why I got the wonton crisps, I guess I wanted to switch my order up and try them, but I didn't like them. They were very oily. You can see the rest of my add ons the my pictures. I stopped eating here during quarantine and I'm usually hesitant to doordash food because it's usually not as good or prepared properly, but I had no problems. They followed my requests and didn't forget anything. The staff has always been super nice during all of my visits. One of the workers definitely deserves a raise. I wish I remembered his name; he's in his early 20s and worked told me how he ended up having to cover 2 shifts one of the days. I thought this was really awesome because I would not have done that haha. So I hope he received a raise! :) I'll be back when I crave poke again or am in the mood for something quick!
