The Korean corn dog tasted so good! It’s crispy on the outside, perfectly cheesy inside, super match with the yum yum and spicy mayonnaise sauce, it’s definitely one of the best I’ve had! The message board is such a cool and unique touch! Those creations were so cute and dramatic!

The staff is very nice, the corn dogs and the tornado fries were SO GOOD. And it has a very cozy atmosphere.

We had a great experience recently and just wanna to share. If you’re looking for a meal that’s both delicious and therapeutic, PokiDC Rio is the place to be! First, let’s talk about the Poki bowl—it’s absolutely delicious. Fresh ingredients, generous portions and the flavors blended perfectly. I loved the variety of toppings and sauces available—it made my bowl feel truly customizable. But what really stole our heart (besides the amazing food) was the Good Vibes Message Tree. While waiting for our bowls, We got to read some hilariously wise and heartwarming notes from previous customers. Nothing like a side of inspiration with your meal! My two sweeties enjoyed their lunch and the message corner( great to occupy the kids when you wanna to enjoy your bowl) they spent time to write and draw something, they even made their own comment and hang on the message tree. Highly recommend ! We’ll definitely be back! Great food, good and fast service, pleasurable atmosphere.

We had poke bowls in Rio yesterday, Pokidc surprised me with the best poke in gaithersburg, their poke bowls were super fresh, packed with flavor, and just so satisfying. Whether you go for the classics like tuna and salmon or mix it up with your own custom bowl, you really can’t go wrong. Their homemade sauce was so delicious, my bowl with yum yum & eel sauce was perfect, We also tried their pop-up :Korean fired chicken bowl and tornado potato, they’re soooooo good! Oh…we loved their Valentine’s Day treats too! They’re giving out heart-shaped message cards and the cutest little love stickers—such a heartwarming touch! My bae wrote me a sweet message and me too, we hang it on the massage boards, and will definitely come back to check it out for sure. BTW, The staffs were so sweet and polite, making you feel totally welcome. It’s my go-to spot, and I highly recommend it!

This is my favorite poke bowl spot I have been to in Maryland. The owners are very nice, and the portion sizing and amount of fish is very fair. They are always quick and efficient.

I would say much like other similar create your bowl establishments (chipotle, cava, bibibop, etc), there are endless possibilities in how to customize your bowl whichever way you want and try new combinations each time. The things I liked more about this place in comparison was the healthiness and freshness of the ingredients. However, it seems like this place only let's you get 5 toppings whereas the other places don't seem to have a limit. They also seem to skimp on the toppings a bit more than the others as well. This place costs noticeably more than the others and perhaps it should. But I would be happier to pay the extra price if they were equally as generous with the toppings as the other places.

It was such a nice day out and this place made my day better providing a fresh and filling meal!

Poki DC has the art of creating a poki bowl down to a science. I love the way their fish is cut with precision and taste like it just came out fresh from the ocean. They have a variety of tasty veggies and additional ingredients. I really like the 3 protein pick; today, I got salmon, tuna, and shrimp. Then, I added avocado, corn, cucumber, and mango. The dressings are delicious. I had the sesame dressing and ponzu dressing. Service was fabulous! I was waited on right away and my server couldn't have been nicer. The ambiance is clean, bright, and colorful. You can sit and eat your bowl there or take it with you. My one suggestion would be to check the lettuce. I had half lettuce and half rice, but the lettuce was not as fresh as it should have been. I like Poki DC a lot and feel like my poki bowl was delicious. Thanks Poki DC!

The concept is pretty cool, you pick your base, I chose soba noodles, then you add toppings, sauces, crispy toppings and protein. It was the tempura shrimp that sold me into trying this place so that's what I went with. The flavors and freshness of everything was excellent, but when I bit into the shrimp and saw they had not cleaned (deveined) it, I was grossed out. That ruined the experience for me. The cost is also pretty high, but I would have overlooked that had the shrimp been clean. I do plan to try the grilled salmon though and hope for a better experience because the rest of my bowl was delicious!

I ordered a poke bowl for delivery with 3 proteins, brown rice and quinoa, and many toppings. It was really good! I loved having so many options that I could add to the bowl, make it taste good, and be worth the price. For the ingredients, the salmon and tuna were fresh, and the flavors were great. I loved the balance of sweet and savory sauces with the soft and crispy textures. The only thing I wished would've been better was the rice and quinoa base. I didn't really notice much quinoa, so I was a little disappointed. Hopefully they can add more next time. Overall, I recommend Poki DC! If you don't want sushi rolls and pieces, a poke bowl from here is the way to go.

Poki DC is the best poki in the DC area. So many options for the bowl! I ordered a three-topping bowl and relished every bite of the seafood, egg-avocado salad, and other fresh, delicious ingredients. Like every other restaurant in this chain, this shop is clean and offers friendly, efficient service. Don't forget to check in through Yelp for the free miso soup or mochi. This shop is right across from AMC Rio, which offers a ton of movie options.

12.21.22 First time visiting and I absolutely loved my Donsuri bowl, which included the following in this order: -Steamed Rice (base - you can also do half and half) -Sukiyaki Beef (protein) -Kale, Seaweed Salad, Crabmeat Salad, Corn, and Cucumber (up to 5 toppings) -Yum Yum and Eel Sauce -Rice Puff and Onion Crisp (Crunchy toppings) It was a great combo with great flavor albeit the beef was slightly chewy. I had to ask for a knife to cut it up. I also purchased the Shrimp Tempura, which had a nice texture. It came with ponzu sauce, which I didn't enjoy because the vinegar was overpowering. I asked for soy sauce, which I liked much better with it. The staff who prepared my order were friendly and helpful when I asked for their recommendations. They offer a loyalty rewards program, buy 10 get one free. Orders can be placed online or via text. I really enjoyed my lunch even though it was a bit pricy. I would love to return and next time will try the Chicken Karaage.

Just ordered they spicy tonkatsu ramen and I can said I officially tried one of the worst ramen. 1. Soup taste like water added instant noodles packets. Water is just warm. I just ordered like 5mins ago. 2. Only fishball and few garnish. 3. They didn't even provide chopsticks and napkins even though I ordered takeout. One of the worst ramen for $18, this is the last time. Please serve only Poki at least that is eatable.

I don't go here often because I think it is a bit pricey for a small bowl but the food is good. It is conveniently located in Rio area. Small place with few tables. Service was good. My husband and I got the poki bowls. I got the shrimps and tofu in my bowl while my husband got tuna which he said did not taste fresh, so that was disappointing.

I love love sushi! Now sushi in a bowl is my 2nd love. However this obsession can be very costly. Especially if you omit rice, you know, to save on carbs. My go to bowl: Spicy Tuna/ salmon zucchini noodles. seaweed masago mango some other good stuff. expensive. But I love coming here, before I go to Paint Night, staff is good. If they could do away from texting or being on their phones, it would be a better look for good customer service. I havent tried their Donsuri bowls. Maybe Ill try one day.

We love this place! The salmon here is always fresh every time we have gotten it and the greens are also always fresh. Love the variety and the concept of just making your own bowl and the fact that you can get as many toppings on it as you want. We almost always get the salad bc we fill up on the toppings but their rice options and doodles have also been really good. I love the variety of toppings they have so everyone will for sure get what they want! The service has also always been really good. Lastly, they have fun Asian snacks on sale as well and it's really always a fun time going here. So definitely give them a try! I totally would go here again for sure!

Poki DC has been popping up everywhere and Gaithersburg is no different. I do have to say that the price of Poki has been creeping up and it's now not unusual to see $17, $18, $19 bowls when you are used to a $11 bowl on the menu. A bit difficult to swallow the price but I do have to say that the toppings here are pretty fresh. Nothing out of the ordinary so I'll have to stick to a 4 but I do think that PoKi DC is one of the better solid chains. Be sure to check in for a free miso soup!

There's been a change in management here. New owner, new employees, and I think new ingredients as well, since the quality of the poke bowls seems to have improved over what it was a couple months ago. It's definitely one of the more solid options for poke in the area now. A bit pricey, but the portion size is pretty large, and they don't charge extra for masago, which some places do. Would recommend overall.

Super FRESH ingredients, including the raw spicy tuna and salmon, cut veggies, seaweed, kimchi, and homemade Hawaiian sauces (honey wasabi sauce was on-point) were amazing. In addition to the clean, crisp and fresh food, the portion of the Poke Bowl is perfection. Well worth the $16.00.

I was in the area last week and decided to grab poke for lunch with my sister. Their ingredients are always so fresh and service is awesome. There's currently only take-out and delivery options for food but everyone here is well social distanced, wearing masks and hand sanitizing. Would recommend and will be returning!

Ate here for dinner around 630pm. Not busy at all. Restaurant was very clean and associates were professional. Not necessarily the most outgoing but still professional. Apparently there is a very specific amount of shrimp in the bowl because she counted and took 1 back out. All of the food in my bowl was however fresh. The price was fair for the portions. If I am in the area again, I'm sure I will try something else instead.

Poki DC is located in the bustling area of Rio Washingtonian, right near the AMC movie theater. The poke shop had mostly bar style seating (with high chairs) and a few small tables. If you plan to dine in, it's best if you're by yourself or with one other person. Super casual - you pick up the food, and clean up the area you ate at. You can also grab your own water cup at the station across from the register. There was also a pick up station for online orders (if you don't want to socialize or prefer to leave quickly). I ordered the 3 scoop bowl with 2 scoops of marinated salmon (salty and somewhat sweet flavor) and a marinated ahi tuna (with a spicy flavor e.g. hints of wasabi). I was hoping to get yellowtail, but they didn't have it in store. As a topping fiend, I had to get most of the toppings they offer! They had a great assortment of toppings, sauces, and crunches. Spicy, salty, or sweet - or a combination - you pick and choose. Staff was also sweet so this is a place I'd definitely stop by if I have a poke craving.

This is someplace you go when craving sushi without the actual pieces of sushi. Think sushi ingredients served Chipotle style, in convenient packaging...hence, poke. The dish (style) itself is Hawaiian. The establishment is clean and well organized, especially the area where you place orders (and the bathroom). I love a clean bathroom. They have both plain and marinated versions for the fish (thank goodness), because it's always nice to have options :) The veggies are crisp, fresh, and perfectly seasoned (when called for). The sauces are the best touch, especially the Yuzu Jalapeño and Toasted Sesame. They offer canned and bottled beverages, and the seating area is comfortable. It's not huge, but it's not small either. Overall, a solid choice when you want a bowl of goodness :)

Food is good order taker nice but you got in store at 835pm food wait cuz me my husband order dunbori than after we sitting she come n kick us out she said 9pm closing on Saturday is 8:55pm " you guy have 5mins " left u can't even finished ur food . My 5 star may be influenced by the fact that I LOVE sushi Lol. I got the Poki bowl and the first step is to pick the base, instead of sushi rice, I picked the Zucchini noodles and organic spring mix 50/50. Next I picked the spicy tuna and raw Salmon. Then I went crazy on the topping since is comes with the price and you can have all if you wanted to. for the sauce I picked the siracha mayo and ponzu and topped with garlic crisp and roasted seaweed. Let me tell you...I ate every yummy morsel! All so fresh and tasty and the staff were friendly. The place was clean and the location was perfect. Took a walk around the lake at RIO. A perfect experience!

Excellent! Really enjoyed it, and I'm not the kind of person that eats the raw sushi. I had the beef teriyaki, and loved the ability to choose from all of the healthy vegetables, brown rice, quinoa, etc to add to it. They need to come to Harbourview Suffolk, Virginia! They would be a big hit.

I grabbed dinner to-go from this location on a weeknight in March 2019. My company has an office in the Washingtonian area that I've been to many times over the last few years, but the last time I'd been, Poki DC hadn't arrived yet. I'm so glad it's here now, and that I got to try it out. The restaurant is very bright and welcoming. There was a short line ahead of me when I arrived, but the few employees working there got through them pretty efficiently. The protein and topping offerings are pretty much what you'll find at any poké restaurant, but I was really pleased with how much you could get without being upcharged (e.g. crabmeat salad would cost extra at my favorite poké place in Tyson's, but was free here). I got a comical amount of toppings on my bowl; it was almost difficult to eat. The fish tasted fresh and the flavors were great. The employee who served me was super friendly. Upon checking in I had the option of getting a free miso soup or mochi ice cream; I opted for the latter. These were individually wrapped in the self-serve freezer up front. In addition to poké bowls, they offer cooked protein bowls such as chicken teriyaki. My BYO poké bowl cost just over $12. Definitely a great place to grab poké if you're in the area!

Poki DC has expanded over the past 3 years. They offer quality Poki bowls and have such a great variety of toppings and sauces to dress up your bowl. I especially love their toasted sesame sauce and zucchini noodles.

I used to love coming here as I love poke. When the opened I remember talking to the order who was from Oahu/Diamond-head . Todays order was awful. Tuna was grainy and off. Possibly frozen before?. Half of it was the right color and other half was beyond oxidized. I have had their marinated tuna in years past and never saw this. Also missing the avocado I ordered. Very disappointed and waste of money.

This location is my favorite location but my most recent visit wasn't my best experience. I ordered ahead of time and my order was ready, sitting on a pickup table. I took off one star because although the poki bowls were fresh, there was an ingredient that I did not order in my bowls. Also, I understand that my order was placed online, but a simple hello or thank you would be nice. No one ever greets you or acknowledged the fact I was there.

You also have the option to mix two bases, half and half. - Step 2 - Pick your proteins, the more you select the pricier the bowl: ahi tuna, salmon, yellowtail, chicken, spicy tuna, shrimp, squid or tofu. - Step 3 - Pick your toppings, unlimited selection with no upcharge except if you select avocado: cilantro, mango, corn, masago, crabmeat salad, ginger, edamame, kale, green onion, jalapeno, tangerine, pineapple, cucumber, red onion, radish, seaweed, seaweed salad or pickled radish. - Step 4 - Pick your sauces: sweet strawberry, citrus miso, ponzu, yuzu jalapeno, honey wasabi, toasted sesame, sriracha mayo, eel sauce, mango or lajama. - Step 5 - Self serve crunchy toppings: roasted seaweed, bonito fish flakes, onion crisp, rice puff, sesame seed or garlic crisp. Poki DC has a good menu selection, the fish was fresh and staff were polite and friendly. I would recommend Poki DC and will definitely be back when I am in the area :)

Very mixed bag here. The positives are that the toppings and sauces are delicious. A ton of different options can give you a bowl truly customized for you. My gripes are a couple things. First, the restaurant never has working AC and has a separate cooling unit so the location smells and is muggy. Also, I question the fish quality. If you ask for marinated Tuna or Salmon, they simply stir their fresh tuna/salmon in an empty canister of soy sauce that god only knows how long has been like that. It's not truly marinated and I don't trust how sanitized that is. Will come back but hoping those things change.

I got sick twice from eating here. The place was a bit dirty too. The fish was a bit odd tasting.

I'd like to apologize to anyone reading this because I ate my bowl so quick I forgot to take pictures this was by far the best poke I've ever had. The quality of the meat was impeccable, even more quality than some sushi I've had. It's a create your own style place where you have the option to have an uncooked bowl or a cooked bowl. I feel like you could probably combine meats but I didn't get super creative. I half rice, half greens as my base, tuna and yellowtail as the protein and then topped it with other fresh ingredients then finished it with a combination of savory and spicy sauces. I was nervous... LOVE LOVE LOVED IT . I took a bite and thought hmm I need this every week lol And the customer service was over and beyond !!! Everyone was soooooo nice and friendly , that alone makes you want to come back weekly. Thank you for such a great experience, I'll see you again soon Poke people!!!

I've had poke at The Block VA before but this doesn't compare. I went the week after opening. My brother and I shared 1 bowl and it left us both pretty stuffed. Reading the reviews prior to going, I was expecting small portion sizes and little protein. I was surprised when our portion sizes were plentiful and the guy scooping our protein didn't just give us 4-5 pieces (their spoons are pretty small.) I love how the tangerine and seaweed salad mixes so well with the rest of the bowl but I was most excited about their unlimited crunchy topping bar. They also have complimentary rice tea? For consumption which pairs well with the bowl. Will come back again solely because of the non stingy serving sizes!!

Finally, a poke place in Gaithersburg! I'm glad that I don't have to go all the way down to Rockville pike or DC / Virginia for some delicious quick eats. I came here on Sunday morning around 11:30 on opening weekend. Ordering was simple and quick, as how Poke should be. You choose your base of sushi rice, brown rice with quinoa, mixed greens, and zucchini noodles. Next, you pick your protein (2 scoops is standard, 3 is more $). They have a variety of marinated and unmarinated ahi tuna, salmon, yellowtail, chicken, shrimp, squid salad, and tofu as a vegetarian option. Next, you get to add your toppings which include a variety of vegetables and fruit. I highly recommend the crabmeat salad and the masago (fish egg)! They have 10 different sauces, but I chose the honey wasabi and Sriracha mayo. There's a self serve crunchy topping station which has seaweed, fish flakes, rice puffs, onion crisps, sesame seeds, and garlic crisps. Seating is pretty limited inside. There's 7 chairs for seating at the bar and 4 regular tables. It wouldn't be an issue if grabbing it to go and eating it at home or somewhere else outside like on a bench, but might be difficult for larger groups. They have a water dispenser if you don't want to buy a beverage, but there are a variety of drinks (Japanese soda ramune, canned green tea. Soda, etc.). I would definitely go back again if around the area, Poke DC adds new variety to the restaurants currently in the Rio area.

Shame on me because I love this place. Right now, they are doing a great job serving customers during covid (and before). In the past couple of years, we've really seen a surge in poke options. From the places I've tried in Baltimore, DC and Nova, I think Poki DC is the best. They have the most toppings, biggest portion sizes and everything is always fresh. My bowls are always jam packed because I get four servings of proteins, plus almost every topping they've got to offer, including the upcharged avocado. The jalapeno sauce is my favorite here. A tip: when ordering via DoorDash, UberEats or GrubHub, you might not be able to double select certain things you may want two portions of; you're only able to check once. Put it in the notes - Poki Dc read and followed mine without a problem.

3.5 Stars and here's why: Plus': - Quick & dirty pit stop if you're in a hurry for lunch - They offer zoodles (uncooked zucchini noodles), brown rice & quinoa, fruit, and "sweet" sauces like strawberry and mango - definitely different compared to other poke places - Mochi and miso soup available Minus': - Lots of plain toppings (like just corn, plain cucumber, etc.) - They were a tad on the stingy side with their "protein" (no full scoops, maybe like 1/2 or 3/4 of a scoop). I had to ask the lady for a little more. Also, they don't have many marinated protein options as other poke places, with an upcharge for yellowtail. - Their protein tasted a tad large-cut and not entirely fresh. I can't compare this location to the others because I haven't been, but it gets the job done if you have a craving for poke and just can't be bothered to drive too far. However, if we're going to start comparing Poke places, Lei'd is def worth the drive to NoVA.

This poki spot has changed so much since they first opened. The new employees are professional and kind. They have a multitude of options for your bowl, fresh ingredients, and fast service. The iced matcha had a bit too much milk but other than that I have no complaints!

Ordered take out. Parking is impossible and the order was wrong. I have tried it twice. Won't be back.

I honestly had no idea what to expect from here. I know I love Poke Bowls, so gave this place a shot. I loved being able to choose everything I wanted in this bowl (especially with a gluten sensitivity). The serving size is great for the price, I couldn't finish my bowl in one sitting.

Would recommend this place in a heartbeat for healthy and filling meal, with great service as well. Loved their marinated tuna and salmon over zucchini noodles (perfectly crisp). Had a plethora of fresh and pickled veggie choices (had kale, seaweed, mango, pickled ginger, daikon, edamame, green onions and red cabbage). The sauce was not too heavily applied (which I like) and had the bowl topped with dashi, sesame seeds and roasted seaweed. Portions were generous, price was reasonable.

On our way home from visiting Rio we thought about food for later and saw this location. Great staff welcomed us as we walked in. They explained the process of ordering and what they did jot have available. Delicious poki bowl - thanks you.

By far the best poke bowl place to go. The only downside is that it can be a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for! Every time I come here the staff always gives big portions of protein. I love that I can select from a variety of toppings and sauces so there is literally an infinite amount of combinations you can make. I never get the same thing every time I come, but every combo I have made so far o have enjoyed! If you check in on yelp you also get a free Mochi ice cream with your order.

Amazing addition to the Rio Washingtonian area! Located super close to the theaters, Nando's, Starbucks, etc. We went during opening day, but we missed the free bowls for the first 50 customers that day. I got a bowl with half zucchini noodles half spring mix, double salmon (you get 2 scoops of protein so I made both mine salmon), pickled radish, corn, seaweed salad, masago, crab salad, mango, and eel sauce. I picked based on ingredients I liked, without feeling too heavy, so next time I'll probably pick a better harmonized bowl. It was still really good though! Since the greens were on the bottom and everything else on top, it was a bit difficult to get the sauce to go all evenly on the greens on the bottom. Somehow they didn't have white rice when we visited, so the husband settled with brown rice. His bowl didn't look as full as mine because the salad had more air or something? He got the chicken, salmon, jalapeno, other various veggies, sriracha mayo sauce. He enjoyed his bowl too. They have a topping station afterwards where you can put as much roasted seaweed (the kids loved this!), crispy onion/garlic, rice puffs, bonito flakes in your bowl. So good! $12+.

I went with the zucchini noodles because I needed a low carb option. It was a great alternative to mixed greens since I'm a firm believer that salad has no place with poke. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the zoodle since it was able to hold it's own against the rest of bowl. I prefer my fish premarinated like a true poke should be otherwise it's just sashimi cut into small cubes. I went with the marinated tuna in their house poke sauce and plain salmon because I didnt want to do a wasabi based sauce and that's what the salmon was marinated it. The salmon was fresh but the tuna was done dirty. The poke sauce it was marinated in must of had citrus in it because the tuna was slightly cooked, sort of how ceviche is. It made the tuna mushy and wasnt pleasant to eat. With that being said, everything else was yummy. I even liked that the crunchy toppings were self serve so I can add as much as I like. They also have lemon water that you can dispense yourself and individually wrapped mochi ice cream.

This location must be the family disappointment, because I've never encountered such disrespect at a restaurant, before. I went to their Rockville location 8/9 with a friend of mine, and the lady serving me showed me that her screen stated I had 10 points to use on my next visit. I visited this location [Rio] on 8/12, and alerted the man helping me of my point balance. In summary, he couldn't figure out how to access my point balance, or I guess he just didn't want to, because after contacting another DC location, not only did they locate my point balance, they also sent me a $20 giftcard as an apology for the horrid service I received. What did the guy at Rio do? Called me by name like he knew me, waved his hand in my face, and told me to calm down. Oh, not to be forgotten, he offered me a "no protein" discount, which was less than $1 off what the price would have been. Wow. I don't understand why a location I'd NEVER been to could remedy the situation, and the guy at my local restaurant couldn't - or wouldn't, rather - even try. Attached is my current point balance for posterity. Guess the customer was actually right, in this situation.

Atmosphere - 5 Service - 5 Food - 5 I love the giant Tuna wall decor they have! The inside is clean and simple. The design gives the restaurant a refreshing feel as one enters after a long, hot walk outdoors at Rio. The team members managing the area were also very kind as they let me claim my check-in voucher for a free mochi ice cream even though my partner and I shared one poki bowl. The bowl itself was amazing and very filling. 1 bowl with 2 proteins was enough to fill 2 people (although I could've eaten it myself if I wanted, which I wanted to because it was so good). We topped the bowl with everything but the extra cost toppings. Everything about the bowl worked out. The varying flavors and combinations in every spoonful kept this dish incredibly fun to eat. It was very fresh and tasty. Definitely a must try!

I've gotten taken out from this location and ate in. Both times were great! Their tuna tasted fresh and delicious. I recently got their eel bowl and it was to die for! If you enjoy eel like I do, give that bowl a shot! The eel sauce they used was so tasty and rounded out the bowl nicely. Lots of great add-on options for veggies and the like. The location is clean and those serving you behind the counter are very friendly and are always willing to answer any questions you have! I'll always come here to get my fix of poki!

This poke place is awesome! Everything is really fresh and flavorful & they have A LOT of options for protein, toppings, and sauces. Way more than other poke places I've been to. I ordered a custom bowl online with salmon and scallops as well as their dumplings. I did have to wait a little while when I arrived to pick up, but everyone was very friendly. All of the food was so good! I would definitely recommend.

Good place if you want to experience some tasty raw/marinated/cooled seafood with healthy toppings. Super filling . *burp* Great customer service . Check into the YELP app and get a free mochi of your choice. A lil pricey for the ambience but the quantity makes up for it
