This is one of our favorite parks! There's a small playground (relatively shaded), a dog park and a sizeable shelter with tables. BUT, if you go under the canopy, down the hill, across the bridge and to the creek, there is a wonderful space where you can set up base, wander and splash. There used to be a rope swing just past that area but it has been broken, unfortunately. Love, love, love Pole Green Park.

Great park. The dogs and owners are all fantastic. Well maintained and just a great spot for the dogs to play. There's two fenced in areas and long trails for waking as well.

Great weekend of softball at the park. Only got to experience the soccer fields for early BP and play on the fields. Park fields were well maintained and plenty of clear space past the fence to retrieve home runs. Gave it four stars because the fields need a hydration solution for the players at the fields so we don’t have to travel between games in the hot summer days.

If you drive a school bus make sure you know where there is ample parking. I drove for cross country runners and they didn't allow big busses to stay at the event. The parking/traffic control was a joke also. One person tells you one thing and the next told you something different. They like to give attitude but don't like to receive it back...

Very cool little and historical park. Very clean and nice little walking area. Had a few picnic tables where you could bring some food and have lunch or whatever. The way they have set up the windows and outline of the church and reading room is really cool. Just open area with all white windows where they would have been, very Futuristic looking for an historical place. They also had a few little bench's on the trails as well. Have driven bye it 100's of times and glad I stopped today to check it out. They even have a little visitor center with some bathrooms. There is also a long walkway to the a flag and every few feet there is a historical marker listing a date with major happening listed. They also have a number of billboards around with information about the area. Great little area to bring the family have a picnic and walk around. Highly recommend spending some time here.

Well kept Park. Plenty of parking and open spaces. Softball fields are kept well.

Easy access and ample parking. Spacious with nice trees and benches. Visited for the bubble run which was fun but overpriced (parking higher than downtown Richmond, paying a second fee for registration). Great venue for the state fair

They completely redid the playground recently. It's quite nice now, although hard for me to use (I am quite a tall person for my age). I expect that such a problem would not be had by people of the average height in the recommended age range for the playground section.

Yelp
This cute park is home to baseball games, soccer matches and skaters alike!! Pole Green park has something for everyone. Pole green has a little play area for kids, as well as a fenced in skate park which is pretty cool. The park is located directly behind the school. To the naked eye it kinda feels like your trespassing because the park is THAT close to the school.

Yelp
Dog's over 20 lbs are in the section with dog's that are under 20 lbs, causing others to turn around, not even getting inside, or leave to avoid a confrontation, or taking a risk that their dog would be hurt, while others stand their ground, and confrontation happens. This dog was not old, not a puppy, not disabled, so why was it in there? Owner say's the dog is scared of big dogs, is this an acceptable excuse for a 50 lb dog to be with dogs under 20 lbs? No it is not, but it goes on.

Yelp
We stopped in for a visit to the dog park! The park is a little bit further down, but near PGES. There are two fenced areas for the small dogs and large dogs to play and socialize. The parking is easy. The only restroom available is a porta potty and only one from what I saw. There's a track section near the dog park for those who want to exercise as well as a little gazebo type of area for gatherings. The dog park offers little obstacle courses, potty stations with potty bags, and benches for owners to sit on while in the gate. All in all my dog enjoyed her time playing and socializing with other pooches! We shall return.

Yelp
Soccer season for the youngest grandson. Proud 2-ma here, so let me just state the known...he is great, quick, fast, and competitive on his feet. I love their team spirit and parent participation.

Yelp
I really love this park for running. I remember racing here more than a decade ago in high school cross country and it being a "true XC course" featuring grass and trails. Now as an adult I love coming here to get a break from the pavement and enjoy the soft surfaces and peaceful landscape. I'm very impressed with how well the trails and grass course are maintained by Hanover Parks and Rec, even in the off-season. You can get in a full loop of grass and trail with easy-to-maneuver pathways that's about 3 miles in length. There are also lots of soccer fields, softball fields and a pretty impressive playground for the kids. For those who don't live in Mechanicsville it's a little off the beaten path. But it's really just a few miles off of 295.

Yelp
We go to this park for my daughters soccer practice and games. They have a lot of fields so there is a lot going on at all times. The playground is huge which is great for siblings that aren't practicing. I don't usually have issues with parking even though it is always busy when we come. This is a great park to bring your kids to if they want to run around or climb the play equipment. The fields are usually kept up nicely and there is lots of space.

Yelp
This is a great place for the kids to skate, walk the dog, jog, or catch a baseball or soccer game going on. Huge playground for the little ones too and plenty of parking!

Yelp
This park is one of my toddler's favorite places. There's a skatepark, slides of different heights, climbing walls for little ones, climbing obstacles and a volley ball court. There's plenty of parking but very little shade. Go early or late in the day to stay cool

Yelp
I love Pole Green Park. It's great for kids, families, walking, running, a wooded trail hike that is an added bonus. Clean, safe, friendly people, can't ask for much more from a neighborhood park.

Yelp
They do not have bucket swings for children under 2 anywhere in the park!! I've never been to a park that doesn't have that for babies to enjoy!

Yelp
A very family orient park. Lots of space. Occasionally will see games. I have also taken pasta classes at the location.
