Google
A treasure find a so complete market with Poland food and groceries. Remembered of my travel to Poland and some of the recipes that I know from my wife’s parent like the pierogi with sauerkraut. That was impressive to find it in Michigan. Feels like you travel to Eastern Europe!!! A definitely must go!

Google
Found this place with tik tok. I love grocery stores, this place was by far the best, I drive over a hour to get here. Nice people huge polish selection. Food incredibly good!!

kathie H.

Google
I always look forward to exploring this store. There is a vast variety of everything you can imagine. They offer a wonderful ready to eat selection and out of this world baked goods. The staff is friendly and helpful. And the store is very clean.

Judy S.

Google
Always has great food and baked goods . Love my trips there . I travel several hours , i feel a little taste of Poland comes home w me . Love that they sell good beer too !!!

Chloe G.

Google
Good selection of polish fresh and shelf-stable goods. Huge selection of pickles, tea, and sweets. Bakery and meat sections are big too. There always seem like enough staff on hand to handle everything.

Mariusz S.

Google
Great hot food and Polish imported items. Also huge variety of meets and cheeses Wonderful people serving customers.

Google
The place is just ok. I envisioned more of an authentic European place. They did have great fresh baked bread, very delicious. Chocolates and candy are pretty much the same as you can find at Meijer in their ethnic food isles. Bought Russian sushkies, they were good. The bakery did have some freshly made cakes and cookies, we got tiramisu (and we all gave it a solid C). Not that good, and definitely not fresh. Napoleon cake was not a Napoleon cake, although the store person tried to convince us it was. Cookies were fine, great with tea. Meat counter was busy and looked like they had quite a variety, but we did not get anything. Maybe next time.

Google
As someone that’s 21 years old, that’s able to buy alcohol. I was trying to buy a beer and I showed him my state ID but they wanted my drivers license but this This lady would not let me sell the alcohol to me even though it was my safety ID but wanted a drivers license, but it was so stupid of her and she was being so rude and plus I said this is what I have. I have a state ID not the drivers license and which is so stupid whoever the lady is needs to be in trouble

Yelp
This is an amazing Polish market store and there is always staff cleaning and organizing. I'm from California and we dont have a polish market. This place had everything from meats, cheeses, fresh breads, pastries, hot food, cold deli food and sweet treats. The selation of soups were amazing along with the peiorgis. I wish I could fit more.in my suitcase!

Yelp
What an amazing selection of Polish eats! We loved the golumpki, pierogi, and kraut from the hot case (helpful hint you can find then golumpki in the cold case as well). This market will cover all your Polish desires and cravings. Did I mention there's a bakery section too? Wowsa.

Yelp
Pierogi perfection, tangy sauerkraut, and smoky sausage bliss. A bite of comfort, a bite of tradition, and a whole lot of flavor. #FoodieFave #ComfortFoodGoals
google avatar

Yelp
This is unacceptable. If your last slice is 3 day old, don't sell it to make a filthy penny but cut it off and throw it in the garbage. Of course it was sold to my husband.... Shame

Yelp
We come from Kentucky every few years to visit Detroit and the Polish Market is always on our must visit list. They have it all here. We bring a couple of coolers and bring back a bunch of pierogies, sausages and lots of good stuff. The Polish teas and candies are really great.

Yelp
We drive from Ypsilanti just to go here. Everything is great. Bakery, hot food, canned goods (sardines with preserved lemons, smoked sprats), a meat counter of hams and sausages on par with any I've been to. An indispensable place for pantry staples.

Yelp
The Polish market is by far my favorite cultural grocery store, the selection of European snacks is unmatched. I leave with more than I need every time. The employees are great, not all speak English but if you are PATIENT with them, you'll get great service at a quick pace. Will definitely be back for the hot bar, god, their breaded chicken is some of the best I've ever had. Go Polish Today!

Hd P.

Yelp
Not impressed. Limited items. Never go back. Really disappointed for a market. One small cooler. No smoked Kabasa. I was expecting a whole polish market.

Luka L.

Yelp
Fascinated with all the food service was great love the ambience of this Polish Market. My ex is Polish and it brought back fond memories of his family and their awesome Polish dishes

Yelp
I love this little specialty shop. Great selection of international foods and a nice little carry out lunch counter.

Yelp
As a 2021 update to my earlier review, this business continues to sell some of the best Kielbasa and Polish centric foods in the greater Detroit area. On my most recent shopping trip I got double links of their double smoked sausage (Personal favorite) and their skinny links of veal pork sausag (great for snacking). Both meets were excellent as usual with wonderful taste. Also got a host of their pickled vegetables, fresh bread and some Polish candies. This trip should hold me over for a few weeks when I will be making my 45 mile R/T travel back to the Polish market once again to get my next Sausage fix! There is a lot of stiff competition in the area for Polish food but this place continues to be my favorite and is well worth the long drive from West Bloomfield. If you are a fan of fine smoked sausage then this is a store that should not be missed. Hearty five stars in my book.

Deborah G.

Yelp
The place is clean the hot food delicious. Such a wide variety of fresh meat variety of perigee Fresh deli meats

Yelp
I stop here every time I go to the east side. The hot food bar is excellent, if a bit pricey. Everything is 8.99 per pound. Doesn't matter if it's meat or green beans. The rye bread is amazing as is the selection of cold cuts and cheeses at the meat counter. Excellent soups in the refrigerated section. I love the dill pickle soup and the sliced lunchmeat, the hot kapusta and most of the pierogi. There are tons of jarred and boxed goods, too many to name. Some of the employees and customers speak Polish and can be a bit hard to understand but it works. It's usually busy and they can be somewhat abrupt sometimes, but I just go with the flow. Oh...the pickles in brine that you fish out yourself are excellent! Salty, just how I like them. Highly recommend!

Jo C.

Yelp
I go there for Dill Pickle Soup to take home; heat and eat. If you want prepared food; I've enjoyed most of what I've tried. Great fresh breads. They also have a fresh meat/deli counter. Lots of authentic Polish foods and desserts. It's fun to checck everything out.
google avatar

Jack G.

Yelp
Such a great ethnic grocery store! Diverse selection of Polish and other Eastern European specialties. Awesome deli (some of the best kiełbasa I've had anywhere!!!). Reasonable prices; highly recommend.
google avatar

Andrea H.

Yelp
I always love coming here. Not only do they carry Polish products but also some German specialties. This place is super busy on the weekends so its best to come on the weekdays, maybe the middle of the week. I love their fresh baked buns and pretzels. Their homemade sausages, like kielbasa are the best! Prices are somewhat reasonable for import goods. Parking is ample and clean.

J M B.

Yelp
Good selection if imported Polish food. Bakery has daily freshly baked rolls & large soft pretzels. All the groceries you'd expect in a small neighborhood market.

Yelp
This store is way better than driving to shop in Hamtramck at other stores but that's my "100 % Polish" opinion. I am always excited, happy and pleased to make the 15 minute drive here from my home to relax and take my time to shop for my taste bud likes. Today on May 23, I brought my Mom with me on a mission to buy many different Pierogi, to prepare along with Fresh and Smoked Kielbasa to cook from the meat counter. Mom loves her bakery bread so she wanted to buy 2 or 3 flavors based on the stock available. "Kasia" is the brand of pierogi I purchased with flavors of Sauerkraut, Potato Onion, and Potato Bacon. Mom loves and decided last minute to buy her favorite, Farmer's Cheese which is a sweet one! Mom also bought a jar of dill pickles and sliced beets on sale which she did share latervwith me. I bought a ring of fresh and smoked sausage to roast for one of my famous Polish Sunday dinners. Mom has trained me well (and in the 70's I always watched my Grandma Z. as a teenager in Hamtramck too at her farmhouse). My purchase for 6 items totaled $24.42 which was rung up by Ola a true polish employee. My photos attached show and explain the many reasons year round plus especially for the holidays to stop in here. I would shop till ya drop or spend your money in a tastefully and worthwhile way. I am always very pleased to walk in and view a clean and organized Polish store that has so much. The employees work hard here and are always friendly and enjoy their jobs. Inside there is a large deli, meat counter, bakery, refrigerated dairy section, frozen sections, grocery isles with Polish merchandise such as cookies, candies, wines, beers, canned or jars of soups, vegetables to name my favorites. Take my suggestion to stop in here for a few hours to shop before eating next door at the Polish restaurant... or better still shop After eating, to walk off the many calories from a delicious, wonderful homemade Polish Platter of food! :) Smachze!

Yelp
The prepared meals were to die for! The deli case is excellent. Fresh bakery display was amazing and the fresh bread was off the hook. Very unique little treasure of a market
google avatar

Jaewoo S.

Yelp
Good place to get Polish food. I would have rated better if I knew more about what they had available in their shelves. But, smoked cheese and garlic sausages were delicious!

Yelp
It's been quite a while since we've shopped here. This time we were on a mission to find the candies they had out as a courtesy in the entrance of Polka Polish Cuisine next door. There are plenty of other distractions as we wandered up and down the candy aisles and we finally had to ask by describing what we remembered about them as individually wrapped bite sized firm fruit jelly coated with dark chocolate. Still we had no luck. My wife suggested calling the restaurant to ask and so I did. They told me it is called Wawel and that the Polish Market definitely sells them. Armed with the name of what we were looking for, a young lady at the market quickly located them for us. They come in different bags ($2.99 each) with different groupings of flavors so we picked two of them to try. I had also been looking for a good Mini Gherkin Garlic Dill Pickle ($2.50) and, not finding exactly what I was looking for, I chose one labeled Old Country Style Polish Dill Pickles to try. This is a complete market with bakery, deli, produce, frozen, grocery, etc. I'll definitely need to come back when I have more time to browse as there are so many interesting things to buy and try. The Pickles I bought were of a sweet variety that was not really what I wanted but...I finished the whole jar in three days. Now we just have to ration the Wawel candy so we don't eat too many too fast! But now we know what and where they are so we can always replenish our supply.

Yelp
Hot food bar is an incredible deal and has numerous options. I wish the options were a little more predictable and they made the daily options available online.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
They gave fresh authentic pączki and a Polish beer selection. Not cheap but it is a specialty store that has items I haven't seen in years.
google avatar

Ellen D.

Yelp
One day my friend and I passed the market months ago and we could never stop thinking about it. Yesterday we finally went and got pierogies and a bunch more. I have found a new favorite candy (Nutella is involved)!! The bread is amazing and also the Bavarian pretzels. They have a wide selection of everything and they even have warm food! They seem to be stocking a lot while I was there so it seems like they keep up on things. Everything I had tasted great!
google avatar

Chandler M.

Yelp
Great food, options and beautiful paintings. Not sure what the bad service comment was about. We have had nothing but great experiences with staff. I had a few people taking my orders that spoke very limited English. If anything, it made the whole experience more interesting and they seem to employ people who know what they are doing. We appreciated the prices and the ability to get some European foods in the U. S. Very cool store! We love coming here.

Robert T.

Yelp
purchased two links of double smoked Kabasa, and one link of garlic Kabasa. They had way too many pieces of something that you can't even chew inside the sausage had to throw them out or sausage ever.
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
Great products but very rude inconsiderate people that shop here and work here. How much of an inconsiderate person can you be ? Just walk right in front of customers and not say sorry. Ride!
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Good selection of Polish foods. But on this visit they didn't have the two items I wanted beef borscht and chicken feet. So off to another store.
google avatar

Changping Y.

Yelp
Very friendly and helpful staff. Provide authentic Polish food here. I got yummy bacon, cheese and dill pickle soup, all of them are as same as I purchased in Hamtramck. If you are far away from Hamtramck, here is a good choice for you when you want to have some authentic Polish food. Btw, the staff were really nice to me.
google avatar

Edward F.

Yelp
We love this market! Living in southern America we rarely get the chance to get foods last me this. We stocked up & can't wait to get home to try all the delicious food we purchased.
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
After getting our first covid shot last Sunday we decided to stop by and pick up some often hard to find polish delicacies for a celebratory dinner that chili night. The kielbasa and pierogies we bought were great and I made a sour cream cucumber dill salad as well the selection and quality is hard to beat when you comes to Eastern European cuisine.
google avatar

Jim O.

Yelp
1st. Visit here in quite a while. Was very surprised they don't carry regular hot dogs in the meat department. Found an unknown brand of packaged dogs and decided to try them. They don't carry hot dog buns. Oh well another stop on the way home. Browsed the store semi quickly and nothing jumped out at me this trip.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Fantastic deli counter and bakery. Their polish sausage is excellent and in addition to picking some up to grill at home I have had some from their ready made counter as well. I have had a lot of different items from their bakery but my favorite is definitely the rustic rolls.
google avatar

Lynn S.

Yelp
Large selection of baked goods, fresh meat and lots of Polish foods. Clean and spacious store with patient staff.

Yelp
On the days leading up to any major holiday (Easter, Christmas, etc) you can probably find me strolling the aisles of one of the Polish Markets pushing one of the two carts my mom and I have stocked with traditional eats. For Easter you're likely to find a block of farmer's cheese, a butter lamb, a whole lotta sausage, smoked Canadian bacon, regular bacon, and big ol' hunks of ham. At Christmas you're likely to find some pierogies (cheese, potato, and sauerkraut) and little mushroom dumplings for the beet soup for Wigilia. Not mention a small envelope of opatek (wafer for sharing at dinner), a slew of candies, breads, and other baked goods. Everything is always tasty and pretty much a steal compared to other groceries. On any other given day you're likely to find an array of spices and herbs (seriously, so cheap. A bag full of nutmeg for like 2 dollars), premade goodies like blintzes, gobki, etc., a bottle of Oranada and/or Polish Fanta (highly superior to American Fanta. Trust me on this), and jarred purred beets, marinated mushrooms, and carrot salad. Oh, YUM. What I'm getting at here is they carry a lot. A lot of tasty eats. You can pretty much get everything you need here, both Polish and otherwise (but of course they lean more toward Polish brands). Admittedly I'm never blown away by the produce selection but they still have what you need. They even carry some Polish personal care products and medicines if you or your Buscia should require. Great prices, fantastic selection, and a little easier to get to than the Hamtramck location. I may frequent the other due to proximity but I do love both Polish Market's dearly!
google avatar

Polina S.

Yelp
Nice Polish market. Of course, variety of amazing Polish Kielbasas and pickled produce. Variations of bakery, sweets, grains, etc. The only thing they don't have smoked or dry/salted fish so I had to drive to another store. Otherwise, I liked it

Yelp
Polish Market is part and parcel of what is the new epicenter of Detroit's Polonia centered around Madison Heights, Sterling Heights, Troy, Warren and Utica. Its hub is the Polish Cultural Center located on the north side of Maple (15 mile) and is surrounded by several Polish businesses including two restaurants, a travel agency, and Polish Market, among others. The former enclave was Hamtramck and Poletown on Detroit's Eastside. As population shifted to the eastern suburbs, so did the businesses. Polish market offers a comprehensive selection of hard to find grocery items both homemade and imported. The deli offers over a dozen varieties of kielbasa, the frozen section offers pierogi and uszka and some staples, the grocery aisle features, jams, jellies, crackers, canned items and other assorted imported items. The bakery section spans half the length of the building offering assorted breads like chalka, cookies, and pastries. This is the most complete one stop shop for Polish grocery items anywhere in Detroit. Open on Sunday.

Yelp
I used to go to the Hamtramck location when I lived in Detroit. I went to the location near the Polish Cultural Center yesterday. One of my favorite things about this place is their impressive selection of herbal teas. Yesterday, I bought 5 boxes of tea, and it was affordable. They had several brands of forest fruit tea, strawberry, blueberry, cinnamon, great sleepy tea blends, and raspberry quince tea. I am thinking some of them will also be delicious iced in the summer. There were so many, most are labeled in English, so I was able to make sure I wasnt getting too much licorice blended in. I cant wait to try more kinds next time. They also have a great selection of dumplings and pierogies/kluski, premade soups, a hot food bar that had sauerkraut and stuffed cabbage, a cold food bar with a variety of polish condiments, and aisles of sauce mixes, spices, and tinctures. Theres a nice selection of quality polish beets and sauerkraut, and it's also affordable. If you like making smoothies or cold drinks they have a large section full of exotic and healthy fruit nectars and juices that are hard to find elsewhere, and bottles of polish syrups for mixing your own soda or drinks. Flavors like wild strawberry, kiwi. And blueberry. Not expensive like many other stores. The yogurt section is great too, theres lots of flavors that aren't commonly carried at major grocery stores, like mango, and a nice selection of kefir. The refrigerated bakery/dessert section also looked good, but I haven't yet tried anything from it. The meat/deli counter looks awesome. I love their sausages and the meat products they make. This place is authentic, I noticed most of the people in the store were speaking Polish. I had a Polish grandmother and love home cooked Polish food, and this is the place to get important ingredients. It was like an adventure, exploring all the different flavors. Cant wait to go back!

Yelp
Great selection, friendly help, nice atmosphere, always well stocked will definitely make the extra long trip to visit

Yelp
Walked in yesterday without any expectations after shopping in the area. Other than the fact that parking was nearly impossible on this Saturday afternoon, we made it in and were pleasantly surprised by the offerings. We thought we were on a mission to pick up only a couple things and then soon regretted that we only chose a basket at the front door rather than the traditional wheeled cart. We bought a couple choices of meats, some sauerkraut, as well as some candy and some rolls. We stopped at the deli on the way out and bought some dinner for later. I tried the stuffed cabbage rolls and my wife tried some pierogis. I did not like the stuffing in the rolls as it appeared to be pork rather than the beef stuffing that I would have truly preferred. My wife thought her pierogis were a bit to peppery to suit her tastes. Another thought we had was that if people are transporting deli food, the market needs to provide much better take out containters that do not leak. The plastic restaurant quality ones with locking see through lids would be highly recommended as opposed to the foam boxes. We plan to make a recipe with the meat that we purchased and are looking forward to that later this week.

Yelp
Great market that carries Alexandra's pierogies from Chicago. They are the best!! And not many people carry them. Rest of the market is good, although I come here primarily for the pierogies. Can get crowded.
google avatar

Albert K.

Yelp
An gem of a market. Fantastic sausages/meats, fresh breads, tasty pierogis and tons of Polish drinks/snacks. This place is also deceptively large as they have a whole extra room in the back corner. A perfect place to get your polish fix without having to make the slog down to Hamtramck.
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
I have emailed them with no reply I have called 3 times it goes to voicemail every time then it says memory full and hangs up on me ! I just want to know if they sell polish kolache if so do i have to order ? and how many flavors ? really dont want to waste a drive if they dont carry it...
google avatar

Keith D.

Yelp
What a great market for all the specialty items you're looking for, the polish sausages is fantastic, They have a great selection of meats, cheeses and specialty items. All of their breads are fresh made and they also have a prepared food counter which is great when you don't feel like making your own. The market is very updated very clean and service was fantastic.
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
This place mislabels products. I bought "veal" hotdogs there and my Polish Jewish friend told me that in Polish it said they were actually pork. Previously I found out their "Krakus" ham isn't, and is actually locally sourced even though they charge like it was imported from Krakow like real Krakus brand products. The staff are also very rude, and the store will close early frequently, regardless of what their posted hours are.
google avatar

Keely B.

Yelp
Authentic. Great selection. Not full liquor. Beer choices are excellent. An entire aisle of beets!
google avatar

Adela S.

Yelp
I am a fan of the Polish Market in Troy as well as Hamtramck and I rely on them for some of the harder-to-find treats that my European family loves. Although the majority of products are from Poland, they are the best provider of imported German foods that I have found as well and prices are reasonable considering how far most of the food has traveled just to get here. One of their unique items is "Moldovskaya" sausage which is a thin, spiced Moldavian style salami. I have never found another store that sells it and even Polish Market doesn't have it all the time, but it is spectacular sliced thin on fresh bread with butter, mustard and thinly sliced pickle. The fruits and vegetables are decent and the fresh baked bread is amazing, but I find that doing all of my grocery shopping here would be cost-prohibitive. I have never ever had an issue with poor customer service here, but I also have never asked a question because I am familiar with the products. The cashiers are efficient but not conversationalists and that is ok...it really is like a taste of Eastern Europe and the unique food products they offer cannot be found elsewhere.
google avatar

Bill B.

Yelp
You might be surprised that I would like this place. Being a vegetarian, classic Polish food does not always serve me well. However, this is my main stop for interesting variations on sauerkraut, pierogi, kluski noodles and other Polish comfort food. My musical ear also grooves on the people speaking Polish. My wife's stepmother, who is of Polish descent and lives near the Thumb, stops at the Polish Market whenever she is down here. If you are Polish or a lover of Polish food, check it out.
