Tempe Pollack Cinemas offers a friendly, clean, and welcoming environment that makes movie nights extra enjoyable. Ticket and concession prices are refreshingly affordable, and the theaters themselves are spotless with comfortable seating. The lobby is filled with life-sized statues of iconic movie characters—perfect for fun photo ops—and the staff is kind and patient, even with kids who want to get up close to the displays. There’s also a small arcade, plenty of seating areas, and clean restrooms for added convenience. And yes—the nachos are absolutely worth coming back for! This theater has a nostalgic charm and a family-friendly vibe that’s hard to find at larger chains.

We had an excellent experience here. It was clear from the moment we stepped through the doors, that this theater was a work of love and philanthropy. The owner is definitely giving back to the community with this place. The theater itself is like a museum for cinema. Tastefully and impressively decorated. You can spend a good amount of time walking around appreciating all the full size wax dolls, movie posters and props. Everything was very clean, the popcorn was made properly. Not just thrown in the bag and covered with salt and butter. It was made the way you always wanted it to be; seasoned thoroughly all the way to the bottom of the bag. I felt a bit like I went back in time to my childhood watching 007 Golden Eye back on a movie screen again. Absolutely amazing experience for the price. Places like this are rare nowadays. Tempe has been given a gift by Mr. Pollack. Will most definitely come back again and recommend it to everyone.

A great place to take the family or date to view a movie at a low ticket price of $3.50. Comfortable, reserved seating. Only open Thurs thru Sunday. Reasonable prices at the concession counter for popcorn, soda, candy, pretzels, etc. Plenty of parking. Some old movies & some newer movies are scheduled after they have finished their run at the 1st run expensive movie theaters.

Google
This family owned cinema is such a gem. Movies for around $3, our whole family can go for under $10, and the concessions are affordable. That’s not to mention the $cheap$ and wonderful arcade, and the incredible memorabilia. All of the life size movie figures make it feel like a wax museum in the best way, my son and I always take pictures with them every time we go. We had stopped going to movies a couple years back due to the ever increasing cost, and thankfully we took a chance on this local theatre-I only wish we had given it a try years ago!

Google
This theater is such a fun and affordable spot, with comfy seating, good screens and sound plus plenty of snacks without overspending. The place is clean, has cool decor, games to play and really friendly service. You may wait a bit for big movies to show up but for the price it’s totally worth it.

Google
Omg I can’t believe it took me a while to discover this place… I heard about it from someone’s reel many moons ago but I finally checked it out and returned twice in a week. It’s such an awesome local gem of a place, cheap movie tickets. They also play horror movies most Thursdays called Spookorama! I love the arcade games too and all the fun memorabilia to see here. This is a cool spot to go solo too.

Yelp
A movie theater where you can get tickets for $3.50 AND snackies for less than $20?! WHAAAAT?! Count me IN!! I currently have a love/hate relationship with social media, but I'm so glad I came across a post showcasing this glorious theater located in Tempe! I was going to try it out by myself but the Crazy Cat Lady (if you follow me on the gram, you know who that is, lol) decided to come out from the boonies on a whim, so we went. We saw "Weapons" and it had us hooked to the end! No, the seats don't recline (they do lean back a little) or have swingy table tops for your snackies, but they have cup holders and they're not cloth seats, so for $3.50 (and $2.95 every Thursday) you really can't complain! The theater was clean and the nostalgic decor make for a very enJOYable experience. There's also an arcade in the front lobby to the left once you enter. My only little gripe is that the restrooms are on opposite ends, but that's a very minor setback. The concession stand has all the basics: popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, pretzels, candy and drinks. We got the combo deal for $11.95, which includes a medium drink, medium popcorn AND a hot dog (or pretzel). We ordered an additional small drink and the total came out to $15 and some change. I don't know about you, but I know a good deal when I see one and this here is pretty epic in today's economy! Of course the movies shown here are a few months old, but I love that because that means it's not crowded at all. I can't stand a packed theater. This would be a great place for a birthday party, team-building or just a simple no frills kinda date! There's a bunch of pic opps in here, too. Have yourself a blast and don't forget to take a pic with Chewie, like me! Lol!

Yelp
The outside: beautiful, lit up, plenty of parking, food places all around, masterpiece. Inside: you walk in, there's photo ops everywhere. Life sized Batman, Superman, werewolf, presidents, you name it. Classic posters and art, it's so cool in there. Concessions: $6 for a large popcorn with free refills. $5 for large drinks that probably hold half a gallon. $3 candy. It doesn't get much better than that. You can get a combo of popcorn, hotdog, and a drink for $12 which is a steal at a theater. Theater: our theater (auditorium 1) was pretty big and the seats weren't recliners but were very padded. Spacing was great too, the screen was large, the sound was loud in a good way. We came to see a Spookorama showing of Return of the Living Dead and it was so fun. They did trivia and raffles at the front of the theater beforehand too. Thank you Terror Trader! We will be back for more movies!

Yelp
This place is so fun! I love going to the movies and this affordable option makes it even more fun! So affordable you can get yummy snacks as well and still don't break the bank! They have nice comfortable chairs (I was expecting the old hard red ones but nope). Lots of seating, good screen and sound. A lot of interesting decor that's fun to stare at. Little video games to play before and after. Clean bathrooms and nice service. You might have to wait some time for some blockbuster movies to come out, but for prices these days, worth the wait. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
I haven't been here in a while. But I love the upgrades they have done. Leather seats!! Always loved the statues around the theatre. Will come back soon

Yelp
Me and my husband have been wanting to check out this theater for some time. It is definitely unique, from the many collectibles to video games in the front. Love the idea of being able to catch an "older" movie for $3.50. Snacks are decently priced too. I was able to get the Pollack combo for less than $12. It included a hot dog, drink and medium popcorn. The theater was kept clean. I wish the chairs reclined all the way back, but it was nice that they did have a little rock in them. Definitely a great option for the kiddos.

Yelp
My girlfriend told me about this theater. We came here to see Fly Me to the Moon earlier this afternoon. Seats were super comfortable, concessions more affordable than AMC or Harkins and the staff were very friendly. So cool to see all of the statues and memorabilia
google avatar

Alexis A.

Yelp
My only regret was not knowing about this movie theater sooner. I love this place! They play movies that are not in chain theaters. They play old movies here. Last week I watched Disney's "The Princess and the Frog" and I enjoyed my experience here. The concession stand was highly affordable and you get a bang for your buck here. The prices are super cheap and the atmosphere is so interactive that I was browsing around for 30 minutes after my movie done. I highly recommended coming here to beat the Arizona heat. Great place for the kids
google avatar

Mellissa M.

Yelp
Love taking the family here! We can see a movie and get snacks for less then $35 which is a steal! The interior is awesome as well!
google avatar

Eddie N.

Yelp
Wait. 5 minutes of trailer. $3.50 tickets for a movie which just necessitates a little delayed gratification. (Extra dollar if you want to reserve a seat online). Such a warm atmosphere with all the video games and decor of old movies. I will come back again.

Yelp
Still one of our favorite places! The staff are amazing and the manager always goes above and beyond for the patrons. The website issues from my last review seem to have been fixed but I still wish they had light up aisle markers since latecomers seem to think a cell phone flashlight in people's faces is acceptable (that part isn't the theaters fault). You can't find a better deal in town and the popcorn is usually top notch!

Becky A.

Yelp
Everything here at Pollack Cinema is nice. The beautiful and interesting movie manicans and the different representation of actors, actresses, and movies! The fresh popcorn and of course reasonable prices for the food, snacks, and movies! Thank you Mr.Pollack for caring for people and the community. You are such a caring individual and giving!

Yelp
Amazing theatre. It is clean, everything is fresh. Great mannequins, movie memorabilia. Staff are awesome. Prices of movies are $3.50. You never know who you will see there.

Yelp
Amazing experience. I went in to see the movie "Origin" i was surprised at the cost, not sure if it was a Thursday deal or what. I walked in, was a little confused because I saw the kiosk, and the gent behind the counter informed me I could pay at the kiosk or that he could help me. I asked his suggestion on the best seat, since it did require I picked where I sat. He offered and informed me that once the movie started, I could move, so long as I wasn't in a reserved seat and moved if someone came. I really enjoyed the show. I don't go to the movies often and since the ticket price was as it was, I decided to have a treat, small buttered popcorn and a small icee, it seemed to be a way to contribute more than just the ticket sale. I am likely to visit again, especially if every visit is as enjoyable as this one.

Yelp
Good films, comfortable seating, large screens , great snack bar and great admission price.

Yelp
I was there May 9, 2025. It's very clean with good, comfortable seats. Charming place...

Big M.

Yelp
Been going here since I was a kid and it's still one of the best theaters in town! Wasn't expecting it to be better than most AMCs and Harkins in terms of visuals, but they've got fantastic projectors here. You can kinda hear the movie from the auditorium next to you if it's loud enough, but that's really my only complaint. Tickets are cheap, same with food and drinks. We're so lucky to still have a real discount cinema around, and especially one that gets so much love and attention put into it.

Harrison S.

Yelp
been coming here with family for many years, maybe 20+ Years? Great place, so much to do before and after your movie, like play games, taking pictures with statues, great hospitality and service, the popcorn is very good, great place to cool off in the summer.

Maurice D.

Yelp
Supporting a local business, this theater is truly remarkable. It's a great venue for hosting parties and events while offering a mix of classic and recent films at affordable rates. With a variety of food options, including fresh popcorn, the theater creates a welcoming atmosphere where you might even spot some interesting characters come to life, such as star quality statues, historical figures, and military personnel. The movie tickets are reasonably priced at $3.50.

Conrad V.

Yelp
It's a fun theater that plays old movies for cheap prices, but their cheap prices attract the worst customers imaginable. It's genuinely like trying to watch a movie in a circus. Parents bring their children to let them run around and play, people will literally play YouTube videos on their phone at full volume, have conversations, scream at the top of their lungs, and often bring it autistic/mentally challenged people that aren't able to behave in the theater. Almost every single movie I've seen here has been ruined in some way or another by customers acting wild in the theater and employees basically do nothing about it. Literally this is the only theater I've been to that made me think I would enjoy the movie more at home.

Tee B.

Yelp
So fun! I took my gb's and they were amazed at all the life sized characters placed all around. Great game room too! The movies they show are older but the prices for tickets and concessions are very affordable. Nice cool way (literally) to spend a hot day without breaking the bank

Yelp
This place is truly a hidden gem super cute can't believe I never knew about this place. No recliner seats but that's ok Saturday night move 7 bucks for two of us. The place is nice and clean with great service.

Dallas A.

Yelp
Pollack Tempe Cinemas is a great place to go and relax! The seating is comfortable, the prices are awesome and the employees are always friendly! I have been coming to this theater for about 2 years and end up going 1x-4x per month! Thank You Michael for such a great place to have in the valley!
google avatar

Rae C.

Yelp
This place is so iconic and nostalgic. Definitely a highlight of south tempe. Went to the movies for $7 yesterday. They always have a great selection of old movies playing. I'm sad it's no longer open 7 days a week but I understand the times. Ava had a really great time. All the dummies and pictures everywhere always bring back so many memories. I was very happy to bring Ava there for the first time.
google avatar

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Great prices and fun inside. However, the seats are tall and little kids can't see above the seat in front of them. They have booster seats but they are hard plastic. My kid ended up on my lap the whole movie so she could see.
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
What a vision in this neighborhood gem to find this theater makes me happy. I love the unique displays, posters and paraphernalia. They play old and new movies. Employees were friendly and the place sparkled. I WOULD RECOMMEND
google avatar

Loren H.

Yelp
Nostalgia and all the right ways! This is what going to the movies should be; great priced movies and concessions, comfortable seats and lots of movie paraphernalia to take in before or after a show. Reminds me of the days I used to hang out at the movie theater, play games and see friends in the 90s! It's places like these that we need to experience and keep supporting!
google avatar

Candy W.

Yelp
I love this theater. It's like going back to movie in the 70s. It's got some fun activities for kids. It is $3.50. What can you love about this movie theater?
google avatar

Joan C.

Yelp
Very cool Theater!! We missed seeing Encanto at the bigger chain theaters when it came out, but we still wanted the theater experience of seeing it. It was still playing here so we drove out to come check it out. Loved the movie so glad we came out here. Too top it all off this theater is great for a discount theater. Definitely a whole experience. So many cool things to see inside. Movie memorabilia, all kinds of life size movie figures and sets. Lots of collectors items, show cased posters and pictures of movie stars and movies. While we are exiting there was this cool pirate seen, and you know us and pirates and parrots. All life size. Worth the trip out here, they have put in new seats and it still has the feel of an older theater but updated. Discounted tickets. We will be coming back.

A. S.

Yelp
I heard about this theater recently and decided to take my kids here for their very first movie theater experience. What a great choice! The atmosphere was amazing. We spent 30 minutes just looking around at all the displays and taking everything in. The tickets were $3.50 and kids packs that included popcorn and small drinks were $4 each. We got a refillable popcorn and soda. Altogether, four movie tickets and generous concessions for four people totaled $34. The employee cleaning the theater waited until the credits ended and quite politely said "Thank you for coming!" We will most definitely be spreading the word on this gem of a theater and returning soon ourselves!

Yelp
I used to love this place until the person next to me started to vape. I asked the person, "Are you seriously vaping?" The guy looked at me and said yes, and what? I got up. I spoke to management, and they only said to please don't vape. They asked me if I wanted to move seats, and I didn't want to stay, knowing someone was vaping. Do you think this person will stop vaping? Of course not. I was sneezing and coughing. I was breathing all the crap from the smokeless vape. As a person with bad allergies, this doesn't seem right. What about people with asthma? And this child-man dared to tell my husband that she was going to get me kicked out. Not we are the ones who left. What a great way to take action, Pollack
google avatar

Cathy O.

Yelp
Sometimes if something seems " too good to be true". - it probably is - except for Pollack Cinemark! Michael Pollack has made sure that all people, young and old can view movies at his theatre. Thursday tickets are only $2.95 each and there is a great assortment of current films, independent films and Disney classics. So whether you have a few children or are an older adult on a fixed income- there is something for everyone! Life sized statues of super hero's lining the halls, and the arcade in the entry made this theatre impossible to pass up! Thank you Michael Pollack!

Yelp
I have not been to this theater in so long, and I am happily amazed that it is still together and running successfully. Growing up in Tempe, my family took me and my siblings to this movie theater every other week to watch movies and the attractions they have inside of the movie theater with all of the wax figures as well as games was fascinating. And just to be able to come back all grown up and an adult now too share this experience with someone else made me feel just like a kid again and at home. The staff there were very welcoming and kind including the manager. We met as well. The movie theater itself is not your typical theater. It is pretty small but comfortable. I didn't very much like how the lights still stayed on in the theater and you can hear the next movie playing next-door. It is definitely a theater. I expect to find myself often. Their popcorn and slushy are amazing and keep you fulfilled throughout the movie. The theater itself has changed a bit, but still looks nice but back then it was bigger and was very crowded but guessing because of Covid, we've lost some people. It is very pretty to come during Christmas and it never disappointed with all of the lights and Christmas characters hanging on the roof.

Jackie P.

Yelp
Very clean and affordable the popcorn is popped fresh and the seats aren't reclining but are comfortable

Meghan S.

Yelp
Perfect outing with kids. Tickets and snacks are great price! Reminds me of the old movie theaters from my childhood!

David H.

Yelp
This theater deserves to be protected and cherished by the Tempe/Chandler community! Aside from being affordable, it's clean, has comfortable seats, and has a great vibe to it that differentiates itself from updated, corporatey theaters today.
google avatar

Shawna B.

Yelp
We love this place, go pretty much once a week. Love the themed programming they have like Star Wars where you can see all three movies of a series in one day! June was Harry Potter, 2 movies a week. Right now they have the newest Kong movie which is still in some full priced theaters!
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
Great value for the money. Seating was comfortable and snacks were affordable as well. Very comparable to actual theatre's. The experience was optimal for adults and children, alike.
google avatar

Matt J.

Yelp
It's a hidden gem in Arizona. I used to be able to find discount theaters all over the place, and this seems to be one of the last ones remaining.

Brandon D.

Yelp
Awesome theater! Cheap tickets, comfortable clean seats, and great sound system and screen. Inside is well decorated.
google avatar

Danielle V.

Yelp
Ryan McMahan, you restored my faith in customer service! My 7 year old had a field trip to this incredible theater and his not so bright mommy gave him $20 for food. He came home and said he bought two candies. Now I know inflation and movie theater charges are astronomical, but $20 for two candies?! Heck no!!! I emailed the movie theater and Ryan responded within an hour on a Thursday NIGHT!!! He asked me to describe what I lost and as soon as I did he immediately responded! He said "that is what I have! I did see a boy who was really upset when he left. I obviously don't know if this was your son, but I hope he can breathe easier now." I was left speechless by his sincere empathy and honesty!! THIS MAN DESERVES A RAISE!!! Thank you for being a kind human! Also, the movie theater is pretty amazing too!!!

kristen o.

Yelp
Absolutely love this theater! Clean, friendly, and lots of cool games! The movie selections are very diverse!
google avatar

Yelp
Still love this theatre after all of these years. It's such a great place to come for a cheap movie. Simple and the chairs were comfy.
google avatar

Joyce A.

Yelp
Easy 5-star score! Outstanding service, outstanding movie selection, outstanding cleanliness all aspects of the theater. Absolutely loved the memorabilia. Truly enjoyed our trip to the movies. Very affordable! I can plan for sure 1 visit/week maybe two . Thank you Pollack Theaters. What a really great visit.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Love this place! We used to live just up McClintock and miss being able to come here so often. It's a simple, classic theater with incredible prices and delicious popcorn.
google avatar

Susan E.

Yelp
Nice renovations, a modern and fresh feel. Price of tickets great! We bought the refill cups with plans to return. New seats very comfy and the temperature in theater just right. Parking easy. Bathrooms clean
google avatar

Grace D.

Yelp
This place is so weird and I love it. Chock full of mannequins, cutouts, and memorabilia, the decor is adorable Hollywood kitsch. They play movies that have been out for a while, plus classics and some foreign films. The theater itself isn't massive and the seats aren't as new as in other places, but I think everything contributes to the overall aesthetic. The $3.50 price is so worth it, and $2.50 Tuesdays are even better! Even though it's not state of the art seating, sound and screen quality are super good. Concessions aren't more expensive than other movie theaters and they have a full selection of what you'd expect. Bathrooms are clean and big enough. Parking is easy. What's not to love? I wish I was turning 10 and having my birthday party here. The whole place reminds me of how magical and kitschy going to the movies should be.

Caleb S.

Yelp
better than most for less than half the price. seats and theaters are upgraded from what they used to be
google avatar

Yelp
Super clean and comfortable, and a gorgeous lobby. Very friendly employees! Honestly even better than the huge name brand theaters.

Yelp
6/5 stars, cheap tickets, great atmosphere. great place to visit with family or friends.
