We stopped at Pollos & Jarras for lunch after getting off a cruise, and it ended up being one of the best meals in Miami. My kids are usually suspicious of trying new foods, but the manager greeted us so warmly at the door and made us feel welcome, so we decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did because clearly, we had never truly experienced Peruvian food before.
We ordered the Chicharronada Bailable, Pollo a la Brasa, Lomazo on Fire, Anticucho de Corazón Enamorado, and El Chafe Criollazo. Every dish was excellent, and the portions were very generous. The standouts were the Chicharronada Bailable — crispy fried chicken perfectly balanced with a bright vinaigrette — and the Lomazo on Fire, with fire-grilled steaks over fries smothered in an incredible sauce my wife and I can still taste. I also tried the El Cubanero cocktail (rum, guava, lime, honey, and black pepper), which felt like the most “Miami” drink ever — refreshing, energetic, slightly spicy, and strong. I went back for a second without question.
Our waiter, Sebastian, provided quick, attentive service throughout the entire meal and made great suggestions, which made the experience even better.
We loved it so much that we actually came back again for our last dinner before leaving Miami. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, we highly recommend this restaurant for the welcoming staff, fantastic flavors, and memorable dishes.
