My husband and I really enjoyed the food we had at CVI.CHE 105 so we decided to try Pollos & Jarras for dinner. They are sister restaurants and Pollos has a more casual atmosphere. We actually had Pollos for lunch on our last day in Miami cause we liked the food so much!
My husband and I tried their:
Aguadito canero - this is a cilantro based soup with vegetables, rice, and pieces of rotisserie chicken. This was really delicious and warms the soul! The cilantro isn't overpowering at all. We ordered this for dinner but noticed that for lunch, they gave us a small cup of it to have with our meal.
Causa crocante - potato mixed with yellow pepper, rotisserie chicken, mayo, yellow pepper leche de tigre and chalaquita salsa. This was very delicious! It was potato-y and smooth! Loved how there was chicken in it as well to add in that extra flavor and texture.
Lomazo on fire - otherwise known as lomo saltado, this dish has pieces of filet mignon, onions, tomato, and pepper with cilantro. It is served with fries and white rice. Lomo saltado was my first Peruvian dish and opened my interests to Peruvian food. The one here at Pollo is absolutely delicious. The sauce was so flavorful and went so well with the rice and fries. The beef was not as tender as I would have expected for filet mignon but it still had great flavor. One thing to note is that when we ordered it for dinner, the server did not ask how we wanted our beef cooked but our lunch server did.
1/4 pollo a la brasa - rotisserie chicken with fries and salad. When their restaurant has the word pollo in it, you gotta try their pollo right? They gave you the option of choosing dark or white meat and we chose dark. Their rotisserie chicken was tender and flavorful! The fries were perfectly crispy!
We also shared a slice of their passion fruit cheesecake and it was delicious! It wasn't super sweet and it wasn't the usual NY styled dense cheesecake either! So be sure to leave some room for dessert when you dine here!
Our lunch experience was definitely better than our dinner experience in terms of service. The food was delicious both times and I definitely would recommend them! We also prefer Pollos over their sister location, CVI.CHE 105, because there's no loud music in the background and we can enjoy our meal with a conversation that doesn't require shouting. PLUS, you can order the cerviche from their sister restaurant at Pollo!
If we do travel to Miami in the future, I would definitely dine here again!
