Came to Polly's Pies Restaurant & Bakery because it was recommended by one of the staff members at the Nixon Library. My group got hungry in the middle of our self-tour, so decided to grab a quick bite to eat before going back. Once we got there, the aesthetic was a classic mom-and-pop diner feel, plus there was an additional bakery inside adjacent to the restaurant. Despite a moderate lunchtime crowd, our food came out fairly quickly. We arrived right after brunch hours, so the server was able to offer both the lunch and dinner menus, which was nice.
Overall, the food was pretty good. My Pollymelt was a bit too greasy for my stomach, but the fruit cup was a pleasant surprise. I'm usually not a fan of restaurant fruit cups because they're often heavy on melon, but this one had grapes, mangoes, and strawberries instead, which I really enjoyed. Unfortunately, we had to head back to finish our visit at the Nixon Library, otherwise we probably would have picked up a pie to take home. I'll definitely consider coming back in the future, especially when I'm in the mood for pie.
