Restaurants Are Ditching House Phones. That Doesn’t Mean You Should Text the Owner. | Eater NY

"I noticed that Polo Bar maintains a gated approach to bookings: although a Resy option exists, the restaurant rarely releases tables through it (the Resy page encourages diners to call), with reservation books opening at the top of the month while celebrities and the soigné rely on a full-time team of reservationists who manage tiers of importance." - Melissa McCart

This place was a pleasant surprise. I found myself in Oakbrook one late evening, looking for a place to have a nightcap. I heard the bar inside the Drake (Polo Lounge) is a classy spot, and the intel was correct. It's not very big, but they have a legit whiskey selection, good service and a decent number of TVs (so if you stop in for a sporting event, pull up to the bar and you'll be fine.) While it was a tad louder than I expected due to the number of patrons, it wasn't impossible to have a conversation if desired. What really made me happy is I noticed a humidor behind the front bar. I asked the waitress about it, and she confirmed they sell cigars and allow smoking on their patio. Sadly that area isn't heated (which means you'll want to wait for a warm day) but it's a great option for a cigar and a good drink. I didn't try the food, but will put it on the list for my next visit.

What a lovely dinner in a beautiful room. We came here on a date while in Chicago April 2024. Service was impeccable. GREAT martinis with blue cheese olives!

Gave off rich elitist vibes and staff was snobby. Not for me.

My wife and I came from out of town to see family and came in for an app and a few drinks, and I'd highly recommend the filet skewers! Some of the best filet I've ever eaten. Prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is great! Will return someday

Great choices of drinks, appetizers and dinners. Cheese plate was delicious and just enough for two to share. Friendly and courteous staff. Prices are reasonable.

This is a bar/restaurant in a hotel. Temper your expectations as the photos imply a different experience. If you aren't staying at the hotel or very close, it's hard to recommend. Would stay away from the food, stick with drinks and appetizers.

Relaxing, quiet atmosphere with good service and offers the full restaurant menu. Great place to go for an after hours drink in Oakbrook.

Yelp
My kinda hotel cocktail bar in the Drake! Very chill, classy joint that I could sit for a few drinks and wanted to but had dinner downstairs at Cao. They had all the high end good stuff which is very much my style! The very nice Maria behind the bar seemed to be running the show along with the cool gentlemen back there as well. Had the Speakeasy Black Old Fashioned per Maria's recommendation and it was just what I needed/wanted! A nice experience!

Yelp
How could I not enjoy the cocktail "Summer Never Ends" perfectly prepared by Rigo? This small but intimate bar is absolutely amazing for cocktails and bites. There's lounge chair seating and low dim lighting even tv screens to watch sports if you'd like. The bar is fully stocked with a variety of brandy's tequilas, brews and everything you may want and need. Polo Lounge certainly can mix up something you'd like. There was valet and free lot parking and they're located just minutes from the Oak Brook mall. Just a simply perfect spot for cocktail heaven

Yelp
Polo lounge is a posh hotel bar with an attentive wait staff. The lounge is equipped with comfortable leather seats. When I got a glimpse of the space I found a humidor cabinet in the corner. They offer a bigger drink menu onsite compared to their webpage. The vibe is relaxed versus what you would find in a sports bar. No TV's here but it's a great place to sip and relax.

Yelp
I'm not typically a fan of food at hotel restaurants but since we were just getting off the plane, short for time and had this cool Skeleton Key in our room that unlocked a complimentary exclusive experience at the Polo Lounge our curiosity was peeked. The key unlocked two delicious cocktails. The Lavender Drake 75 had a grey goose base, lavender simple syrup, splash of St. Germaine, fresh lemon purée and topped with champagne. I remembered all of that because it was so delicious that I want to make it at home. My husband is an old fashion connoisseur, so he was looking forward to the different spin on the typical, an Maple Old Fashion. For him it was a bit sweet. But the bar was well stocked with a lot of our favorite bourbons and tequilas. The food was delicious. The wings were crispy and the mango habanero sauce was excellent. We were afraid the sauce would have been too spicy so we got it on the side but it was perfectly balanced. We sopped our wings up in it. The fries were nice and crispy. We were wowed by the filet sliders. We weren't expecting actual pieces of steak but oh are we happy with what we got. The steak was fall apart tender and didn't require any biting into, it just fell apart. The crispy onions and blue cheese dressing made for a perfect pairing and the bun was soft and buttery toasted. To top it all off was the service. Miguel was our waiter. He was pleasant, kind and very attentive. He made excellent cocktails and truly made our experience. So much so that when we returned to our hotel for the evening we sat at the bar and waited on Miguel to prepare our cocktails. The other bartenders, Enrique, Erika and Alberto were also pleasant. The ambiance was very cool and nicely decorated. We were trying to figure out how to design a similar bar and lounge in our own home. Throughly enjoyed our experience!

Yelp
Ambiance was nice, but had the worst cocktail i have ever tasted and with a less than cordial bartender.

Yelp
Bar in the drake hotel in oakbrook. Dark, intimate and classy. Great craft cocktails and bartenders. All staff here are helpful. Lots of outdoor space. For a bar menu, lots of options for apps to entrees. Great hamburgers. Great place to relax after a long day.

Yelp
I came into this place about two weeks ago on a Sunday. Service was incredible and the food was amazing. We had the filet mignon skewers and the calamari to start and those were great. Then went on to get the bone in steak and that was cooked to perfection. Shout out the cooks in the back for having pride in their work. After that we had the cheesecake and creme brûlée and those were amazing as well. Can't wait to come back.
