Michelin-Starred Elske to Temporarily Close for Winter - Eater Chicago

"Other Chicago food and drink establishments are opting to take a winter hiatus in light of the extraordinarily challenging season ahead: some vendors at West Loop food hall Chicago’s French Market plan to go into 'partial hibernation.' Spots including French patisserie Vanille and Italian meatball shop Polpetti are slated to reopen March 1." - Ashok Selvam

Google
Dynamite beef meatball sub. Quality meat, sauce, cheese and spice....great ingredients all around. They wrap well too so it does make a mess when you eat it. Well done!

Google
Best meatballs in the world! Beware spicy sauce because it's really spicy! 😂 I will definitely return here again.

Not that many meatball places downtown so I was happy to find one walking around French market! You can order 3 or 4 meatballs in a bowl, pasta, sub, or smashed panini and add in any of the toppings for free. I got the panini with 3 beef meatballs topped with giardiniera and roasted red peppers and loved it! Super good flavor and a decent amount of food.

the barista at the coffee and gelato section is an angel, just saying my iced coffees and flavored lattes are always super good, and no upcharge for soy milk.

Meatballs over rice or pasta, in a sub or pannini. 4 sauces and plenty of toppings to choose from. Always love this place!

Dry meatballs and the cannoli I bought tasted like the cream was bad....

Don't work here. Management doesn't care about employee's. No one should shop here and support him either.

Yelp
Upon a recommendation from a friend, I ordered the chicken meatball sub here. I was worried the bread would be soggy (which is typically my experience with meatball subs) but thank the heavens this bread was perfectly dry on the outside. Big kudos to whoever thought of toasting meatball subs (though I understand you can request it not to be toasted if you're not into the crispy exterior). The meatballs were nicely spiced and the spicy sauce wasn't very spicy but still good. I also appreciate that they don't add too much sauce, which makes it not messy at all (again, a pleasant surprise for meatball subs). As for toppings, you get your choice of veggies, cheeses, and spices but note that the popular stuff runs out (came for dinner and they were out of spinach and mushrooms, which just so happened to be the two veggies I was going to order). As with everything else in French Market, there's a large seating area that's mostly empty in the evening with some soft French music to fill your ears as you eat.

Yelp
Great place if you are looking for a filling Italian lunch. You can choose from a variety of different options. You can choose 3 or 4 different meatballs. the difference in price is just $1 so i highly reccommend just getting 4. They have chicken, vegetarian, meat, and pork style meatballs and yes you can mix them in your dish! It is located in the first row at the far end of the French Market so be on the lookout for it. You can choose to have your meatballs with pasta, in a bowl with a piece of bread, on a sub, or an a pressed pannini. The pressed pannini does take the longest and can get mixed up easily if it is super crowded. Next you can choose from 4 different sauces. A spicy tomatoe, tomatoe, and two different white sauces. Next you can pick different toppngs from types of onions and spinach to much more. Lastly, you can choose from a few different cheeses and then spices to top it off with. Overall, I tried the bowl and mixed my meatballs and suaces. Overall, just so a great lunch and i had some for leftovers to eat for another meal!

Yelp
Delicious meatball paninis with lots of options for sauces and toppings. Only thing is the meatball itself a bit salty.

Yelp
I went here with coworkers while in town for work. The food was delicious and filling, the line situation was a little congested though and could have had more organization to it.
