The Best Lunch Spots In Mexico City 2024 - Mexico City - The Infatuation

"Polpo is an Italian restaurant inside the picturesque Pasaje Parián, a leafy passageway with small shops, restaurants and even a spin bike spot, which feels more like Milan than it does Mexico City. Slide up to the tall wooden bar for snacky plates of freshly sliced salami and aged parmigiano reggiano, or, grab a table on the glass-covered patio and spend the afternoon drinking negronis while watching the crowds. The menu changes often, but if you see the butter lettuce salad or short rib-stuffed cappelletti on it, get them both." - guillaume guevara

Dog friendly! This building is gorgeous. The atmosphere is amazing. The food was too salty for my liking. Drinks were great. Highly recommend the French Tequila! This restaurant is on the expensive side.

Super cute spot. Delicious menu. Amazing food. Prosciutto Croquettes - 5/5 Pulpo - 5/5 Picanha - 5/5 Cacio Pepe - 5/5 The cacio pepe was absolutely incredible. The croquettes were equally amazing. Pulpo was very tasty as well as the steak. Service is great. Restaurant is super chill and in a very cute building. Definitely will be back.

Great place to eat, drink wine, Mezcal, and beer. We had the raw ahi with two expresso Martinis and it was amazing. we have limited time and that’s all we can have but will be definitely returning on the next trip.

Carlos was an amazing server, and the food and cocktails were delicious! A great place to stop if you want to have a little nibble or more. Very friendly and in a tucked away spot down a very quaint alley. Highly recommend!

We arrived to a beautiful restaurant space situated on a small indoor brick-laden street. Polpo had a DJ playing chill music. They started us at the bar as it was busy but had us at a table quickly. Smaller plates, tapas style, all very flavourful. Lots of coffee and earthy flavours in our octopus and steak dishes. Nice service, good team.

Really cute restaurant in this indoor street. The vibe of this street is wonderful with a lot of happening restaurants and bars. I really liked being able to sit "outdoors" but not be on the road itself. They had a lot of Iberian ham options which was interesting. The wine was nice and the vibe was great!

Lovely wine bar in CDMX, the selection is always good, you will definitely find interesting wine from all over the world. They have little plates of food so you can share while enjoying your drinks. The staff is super friendly and professional. I highly recommend this place.

I’m very sad to say that I was strongly disappointed by this place. I love Marco Carboni’s other restaurants. Bottega? Great for brunch. Madonna? Awesome pizzas. Sartoria? Unbeatable Italian place in CDMX. I thought I’d experience the same quality in Polpo and I did not. I had made plans to have dinner with a friend after my cycling class next door, so I dropped by and asked if I needed to make a reservation. A very kind waiter said I did not, so I just came back an hour later. They offered either tap or sparkling water. I chose the latter, their local option: Diluvium. I cannot stress enough how disgusting the water was. Terrible taste. We had a parmigiano regiano as an entree, which was expensive and to be honest was not worth the price. It came with a bit of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which did not pair up well with the cheese. We also had a pesto risotto, served with a burrata, which was the most decent thing we tried, and a tagliatele carbonara, which was okay, but not the Carboni quality I am used to. We also had a focaccia which tasted greasy. I could almost bet they toast it in the same place where they fry their guanciale for the carbonara. We asked for a tea or coffee, none of which they offer at this place (surprising for an Italian place i’d say). We got served by a different waiter than the one who told me I didn’t need a reservation. The new one seemed annoyed and when suggesting wine he just read the wine list and just offered the most expensive glasses. I’ll just go to Carboni’s other places and will not return to this one.
