Polski's pub and grub

Ten of us had lunch today.. Food was excellent. My Polish friends confirmed that everything was great from the potato pancakes to the stuffed cabbage. Dill pickle soup was flavorful. Entree portions were Generous. Finally, our server Jackie was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hidden gem.

Been going here for years! It’s always been delicious. We went tonight though and somehow it was even better. Like I don’t know if there’s a new cook or a new supplier but we were so impressed and shocked that it could possibly have gotten better. When deciding where to go with our two small children for dinner, we chose Polski’s as well saying “they love kids there” and sure enough within a few minutes of arriving we were welcomed warmly by guests and staff.

Very disappointing. Went last night husband had city chicken was very good. I had the turkey Reuben was very disappointed. Yes I did mention this to waitress. I asked her about the bread because it was toasted she said it was a new cook. Reubens are served grilled and she also knows that but she served it anyways. I guess hoping that I would not notice, but she tried to blame cook. If waitress knew it was wrong she should of never served it. Very disappointed when you pay 13.50 for a sandwich and chips and it was made incorrectly. We also were the only 2 customers besides the 2 gentleman at the bar. Again very sad, they are expensive.

Food was amazing, BUT they had a dog in the upstairs that kept barking then they just let the little dog run the restaurant. They only had one waitress and she was taking care of a party of like 30, I wasn’t checked on, took forever to order, then forever just to pay and leave. I seen two couples walk out after waiting for the waitress to come take their order and she never came.

Spent $137 on food there. Ordered 3 polish platter, fried pickles, fried pretzel bites and loaded pierogies and a polish Reuben with tater tots.. The items in the polish platter was unseasoned which after I added my own seasoning was edible. However the waitress was giving us an attitude upon ordering saying that we could only get the farmers cheese pierogies and not the potatoes and cheddar ones. After we said we would cancel our order she said the cook would do it. The fried pickles were disgusting the batter was soft and mushy and all of it was dripping in grease... horrible. The pretzel bites were a full sized pretzel cute into slices and saturated in butter. Then all the pretzel salt was at the bottom of the box not even any on them. And the cheese that goes with it wasn't the best either. I was expecting pretzel nuggets when they said bites which might have tasted better. The Reuben was Turkey and cheese but the tots were very under cooked and had to be thrown out. The only thing that was worth its money was the loaded pierogies.. I got it without tomatoes and they were amazing! All in all I had to throw out the soggy pickles and saturated in butter pretzel bites cause they were gross. All this food definitely was not a $137 I would have expected to pay about $60 for the quality. Hopefully this post can save you some money before you go... it was definitely not worth my time or money to go get food from there...I was overall disappointed.... literally I wasted about $40 worth of food throwing it out...

I heard they had good Polish food. It was good. The dill pickle soup is definitely homemade and very good. The City chicken was pretty good and the mashed potatoes had lumps so they were very good. Next time I want the Polish plate.

Wasn’t busy on a Friday night. Maybe because they were working on the road. But the food is really good. The girls were very nice in there. Price wasn’t bad at all ! I’m definitely going back!

Everything about this restaurant was excellent. The food was authentic and delicious, the service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great Polish cuisine.

Let's Get Honest! This place tries but fails. I've tried nearly everything on the menu since they've opened 8 years ago. They're extremely inconsistent. Food is incredibly bland. The owners admitted they don't season the food because that's why salt and pepper are on the tables. They love to use microwaves, and nothing has any flavor. Nothing is made from scratch besides the perogies, a few soups and potato pancakes which just taste like mush. One high point is their dill pickle soup, it's very good when you add a little salt and pepper. Definitely my favorite dish on the menu. They used to have a great cook when they first opened, he was great, everything was consistent and had flavor and seasoning. I remember the cook that replaced him had white supremacy related tats on his body and I overheard him one night talking about his alliance? Kinda weird. He's not there anymore but kind of makes you wonder who hires a person like that. This place is just not worth the money. A cozy little restaurant with great charm . The food is traditional polish cuisine. They have many different choices of food options. The staff is very friendly and fast. The prices are reasonable.

We really liked the Polish Platters. We tried all the sides: dill pickle soup, onion soup, coleslaw, and salad. I really liked the soups. The coleslaw was good and standard. The salad was ok but nothing too special and I don't think worth the price or status of being a side. The soups were just so much better and more interesting! We got pick up and it was smooth and easy. A note that there was an extra charge for doing pick up which I hadn't seen before at other restaurants. Overall great and would be happy to get the Polish Platters again sometime!

It was 27$ for 9 pierogis. That just seems excessive to me. I recently went to Irenas at the Srodeks market and got 24 pierogis for 23$ for comparison.

We visited Polski's Pub and Grub for the first time today, a Friday evening, after wanting to try it for a long time. We ordered the Bavarian pretzels that are served with beer cheese and a spicy mustard sauce. The pretzels arrived and we were immediately turned off. The plastic cup of cheese served in the center of the plate had clearly been microwaved. There was burnt cheese inside the cup and the side of the cup had actual holes where the cheese melted through in the microwave. We sent the pretzels back, our waitress didn't seem to care or seem shocked by this. My husband ordered the Polish platter and I ordered the Pierogi plate with 2 potato pancakes per the menu. I received one very thick potato pancake. When I questioned this I was told "The whole menu is wrong and all messed up, you get one thick pancake now". We ate our meal, the potato pancake and the kielbasa were okay, the pierogis were super plain and bland. I was very disappointed with them. My husband said his entire platter was very bland as well and that all he tasted was vinegar from the sour kraut that permeated his entire meal. Overall not a very good experience and no one seemed to care about our complaints. Unfortunately we will not be visiting Polski's again. Hopefully other people have better experiences!

A friend of mine and I went to Polski's Pub and Grub yesterday, Sunday April 14th for the first time. The waitress was really nice. My friend got the Polish Platter and really liked the kielbasa. I got 3 pierogi's that cost almost 8.00 and they were terrible! They were half black on the outside and had absolutely no flavor. I was sooo disappointed. I could have bought 2 boxes of Mrs. T's that would have been cheaper and tasted better. I will never go back there again.

This place needs to get a new cook! I ordered a cup of soup and an order of chicken wings. The dill pickle soup was good but the first bite of my wings literally gushed Blood! The lady sitting next to me said "Your not going to eat those are you?" Ohh god no! Then she says, It's not the first time I have seen that here, I only order salads from here. I come because I lake the people". The bar tender asked if I would like them cooked longer or order something different? Ahh, from a cook that serves raw wings multiple times? Hell No! I would not trust anything that comes out of his kitchen!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE UNTIL THEY LEARN HOW TO COOK FOOD PROPERLY!

This is a bar, not a restaurant. There is always a "help wanted" sign outside. That explains why the reviews are so varied. One time you might get a good cook or server, the next time NO. To be a good restaurant you need to be consistent. The owner's response to reviews says it all. This should be service and hospitality. IT'S NOT.

I decided to stop here because I was in the area, and I was in the mood for some pickle soup. This is truly phenomenal soup. And, since that was a little bit too healthy, we decided to get some deep fried pierogies and potato skins. My wife wasn't sure if she wanted one of the beers that was on tap, so the waitress was kind enough to give her a small sample so she could try it. That's pretty cool. They have a good selection of beers on tap, including some Polish beers. And, even though this totally blew my diet, it was totally worth enjoying the fried food here. It's not greasy at all, though, so I have some small thought that having a few was a really good idea. I don't regret it. I Donely regret not coming here more often.

Who knew I needed dill pickle soup in my life!?!?! I've been driving by this place for years and loaded pierogis on the marquee always grabbed my attention. Tonight I decided to drop in and finally try them and they did not disappoint. But the dill pickle soup was the surprising delight. I knew it would either be absolutely delicious or not at all, so she let me taste a little sample. I smashed that bowl in two minutes flat. Mandi was great, too. Can't wait to come back!

We had dinner there last night with friends. The food was excellent and the portions were plenty. Their Potato pancakes are Excellent. Our waitress was the Best!

After having this place bookmarked for 3 years, decided to try lunch on a rainy Monday. As a veteran of MANY trips to polish village, in hamtramck- decided to compare. Shared a polish platter. Dill pickle soup was better- nice and thick - plenty of veggies. Portions were huge. 2 boiled potatoes, 1 fresh, 1 smoked sausage, 2 stuffed cabbage, 2 potato pierogi, sauerkraut. Stuffed cabbage had no taste. Rest of food was average. Added in 2 polish draft beers. Mary, the barmaid/ waitress was excellent.

Polski's is a cute little polish place to be able to relax and enjoy authentic polish food and drinks. Their kielbasa is out of sight and pierogis amazing too. The only complaint I'd have is they have so many different pierogi flavors but I swear they are all just the same. They have as an appetizer deep fried loaded pierogis which are amazing. The staff is super friendly too!

Polskis was awesome! I can't believe that I've lived in this area all this time, and had never been to this place! I've been missing out. Our waitperson Pam was wonderful, she was a lot of fun and provided great service. We were there on a Friday night, it wasn't too crowded, and they had a decent rock band performing. The food was great! I loved the dill pickle soup! The pierogi, potato pancakes, and stuffed cabbage were all very good, too. For dessert, I ordered cheesecake, and Pam brought an extra large slice so I'd have some to share with my friends. That was nice. Ignore the bad reviews, this place is worth a visit. I'll definitely be back, it beats driving to Hamtramck.

Kate B was a terrible server. Smoked outside, didn't wash hands before going back to tables. Messed up the order, didn't want to make it right, only argued about it. Never came back to refill drinks or check on us. Only dropped the bill and then walked away

First time here and we will be back. Food was great and service was even better. Jaqueline waited on us and actually everyone in the restaurant. She took care of everyone in a timely manner with a smile and very friendly service. We had the polish platter, the pierogi plate, pork chops and dill pickle soup. Everything was delicious. We ended the dinner with crepes and ice cream.

Some pretty good authentic Polish food at this little neighborhood pub. Drinks were well made. Beer was cold. We had the big pretzels for an app...oh boy those were super tasty!!!! Dill pickle soup was perfectly made. One of us had chicken noodle and she said it was definitely "made" not canned. The Pierogi were very good...the potato pancakes were just ok. They had a special that was a sliced prime rib "dip" with fries and coleslaw. That was SO GOOD!!! The meat was perfect. Fries are served well done and hot. The service was the BEST!! I will call ahead to make sure Ellen is working because I don't want any other waitress! She was fantastic, knowledgeable and really fun.

The food here was fantastic, and the service was even better. And the ambiance gave me a feeling of excitement and comfort. The owners are the best.

It's a casual place. Great friendly service. The food hit the spot but if you want really good Polish food there are other standout places in Southeast Michigan. I highly recommend the home of any local Polish family. But that requires some schmoozing...

The food was absolutely amazing. We had the potato pancake platter that could have fed 3 people and the polish platter that could have served 4. Everything was delicious. Loved the decor and the service was outstanding. We'll be back.

Went for the first time the other day around noon sat at the bar . Mary was a doll and the neighborhood dudes sitting at the bar were friendly . The dill pickle soup was good . The potato pancake seemed like it was reheated from the night before wasn't very crispy and hot . The kapusta was too buttery tasting kinda bland . The galumpki just had tomato sauce on it I've had better I would prob only go back for drinks since it's close to home

If your not a regular save your time and money. We stopped in for the first (and last) time today. We were acknowledged when we walk in but then sat for 10 minutes wait for her to bring and beer and drink to our table. To busy talking to the people at the bar. They weren't even busy Will never go back

Cold food and terrible value. $20 for 6 pirogies? Plus they didn't even taste good. The dog wouldn't even eat them had to throw the meal out.

I get takeout from here a lot, food is great but a bit expensive. I would also avoid ordering delivery service near closing time I have had issues on multiple occasions with them not fulfilling my order or missing most of my order. The food is good enough that I keep ordering it in spite of the issues

The Polish food was very authentic. I ordered the 1/2 Polish platter for $8.95. I could not eat it all. I ended up bringing the cabbage roll home. I had a polish beer on draught, it was very good. I also ordered the sweet potato fries as an appetizer! They were great with my beer. I will be coming back. I might order the same thing all over again. So delicious....

Great Food and great atmosphere the food tastes like home made.This is my second time here...the place is packed!there is a band playing Fish and chips is delicious Try some Polish beer while @ Polski Pub and Grub I recommend Okocim its very good Also the waitress was very attentive overall great food and great atmosphere .I will definitely be back

RAW, BLAND, & HAIRY: I love polish food but HOLY HELL was that under-seasoned! The pierogi was undercooked, just table top S&P, and slathered in butter for any reach of flavor. The stuffed cabbage was RAW (ground beef) and under seasoned. I'm pretty sure the tomato sauce is literally just tomato, stock, and salt. The dill pickle soup was ridiculously hot, the pieces were stupidly huge, AND THERE WAS A HAIR.

The food was positively meh. They gave me the wrong soup and forgot the tartar sauce, arguably the most important thing to remember with fish and chips.

Wish I could give it a ZERO...disgusting fries..we got a carry out..two Lent perch dinners..27.90 at lunch time. Got home and the fries appeared to have been cooked in old grease OR the fries were left in the old grease all night??? They immediately went into the garbage. The perch was bland...edible at least-but barely. The breading was awful. THEN I checked the bill...1.50 carry out fee. I honestly dont know how they could pack it up and send it off. NEVER will return and I was hoping this would be a nice spot to eat in the future. NOPE!!! PLUS Yelp site says no fee for Carry Outs...yes there is!

Food tastes very authentic and homemade. Hearty portions. Came at an off time 9n a Tuesday. Service was fast and friendly.

Authentic polish perogies, potato pancakes, and polish sausage. Tastes like mom use to make. Our waitress Staci was great. The 313 Polish lager was very good also. Dzie Kuje!

Great Polish food! Our waitress, Ellen, did a fantastic job of making sure we had our order out to us in a timely manner.

No Covid protection here. I have never been here and ordered take out in order to support a local business. No one greeted me at the door, I had to search out an employee. Eventually I grabbed a cook or manager and told him my name. He was not wearing a mask, he brought me my food I tried to hand him my credit card. He thought I already paid and asked me to pay the bartender. I didn't want to approach the bar, there were 10 seats at the bar, 9 were taken, wall to wall, unmasked people. Two bartenders, no mask either. I tried to quickly check out. Please, offer curbside pick-up. It's as if Covid doesn't exist in there. Very disappointed. I'll go back but after a vaccine comes out, it's just not safe to go there even for take out right now.

Love this place and their specials. Tuesday is city chicken and Thursday/Friday is prime rib. Husband loves the prime rib. Dill pickle soup, pierogis, stuffed cabbage all are delicious. We frequent this place at least once a week. My husband also loves the Polish beer.

Went last year and the food was cold and the walleye filet was hard, I could break the table with it. Tried again today for late lunch sat outside first nice day and waited for someone to come out. Got a polish beer my friend and I. Waited a half hour did not come back out. I asked for menus when I got the beer so, I called on the phone and asked if she was going to take our order? Should have just ordered it on phone cause she was more into bat people then us. Food was ok! Nothing to write about the service sucked!

Food and staff was awesome!!! Dill pickle soup was great, as well as the pierogi, golabcki and kielbasa. Would definately recommend to others. Don't have to go to ham-town any more for good Polish food.

Waitress, Pam, was awesome! We loved her. Personable, patient, accurate, helpful, quick.....I could go on and on! Obviously, not her first rodeo. Food was authentic, and comforting. Soooooo full. I am gluten free, and the best thing I ever hear at a restaurant is " we make it from scratch". They were accommodating and helpful. The dill soup was great (they thicken with corn starch...thank you!!!) And the stuffed cabbage...o my goodness. Definitely recommend adding the sour cream in the tomato sauce, but WOW...I couldn't stop eating it. Now, I'm stuffed! We will be back, can you tell?

Came here for the Lion's game on Sunday. Wonderful service. Jacqueline ("blond girl") was super attentive and was the best server we've had anywhere in a long time. Food was good and drinks were well priced.

Apparently these guys don't like money? I ate here often when I lived in Michigan. I'm visiting for a family party and wanted to have their food delivered they door dash. Of which they accepted the order and deployed the driver.. only after the driver arrived they decided not to make my food or honor the order " because a 12 top walked in and they didn't want to deal with it." Then you shouldn't have accepted the order. They told the driver she had to cancel, which she didn't know how to do and meant I then had to call support. Horrible business practices. Don't be open and available on door dash if you are in willing to make the food, and especially don't confirm the order.

Don't let the exterior fool you ! Great Polish food and friendly service.....the other locals were also welcoming !! Had the Dill Pickle Soup and the Polish Platter.....more than I could eat at one sitting. Well worth the drive across the state.

I'm probably the worst person to review this. I don't like Polish food. It's just not my thing. So, keep that up front. I did have non-Polish food, though, so I can at least review that. And ... the verdict is still "meh". Firstly, the place is MAMMOTH. Like, too big. It's like a converted barn. I know it was once a sports bar, and that may be part of the problem; they're trying to shoehorn in a small, homey-style restaurant in a place built for doing fantasy drafts and watching Tigers games. It's just too big. The food itself ... their non-Polish food exists, that's as good as I can say. I had fish and chips. While their filets were sizeable, there was little in the way of flavor. It just tasted like breading and mush. I sampled some bratwurst off my wife's plate ... I can't believe I'm saying this ... I've had better bratwurst from a package in a grocery store. It tastes like breakfast sausage, only more boring. Like, this is it, this is your ONE JOB. Your claim to fame. And it's meh. That should be a knockout. Service was polite and responsive, though, so, that's a plus. As I said, maybe I'm the wrong person to review it. But they sure didn't do anything to sway me with their other cuisine, and the ambiance is definitely uninviting. I can't imagine we'll be coming back.

At note to the good folks at Polski's: Twojie jedzenie nie za dobre. Translation: Your food ain't that good. It's not bad, just not good either. First let me say I'm 100% Polish, born in Germany and raised in Hamtramck on great Polish cooking, both at home and in the best Polish restaurants this side of Chicago. First visit was a bit disappointing so we thought we'd give it a second try. Here's a summary of the highlights. Potato pancakes; horrible. Probably the worst I've ever had. Pierogi; not very good, Dudek's? Dill pickle soup; good but the pickles should be shredded, not chunks and it's more potato soup with some pickles thrown in than a real dill pickle soup. Not enough pickle flavor for me. Some dill wouldn't hurt either. No bread and butter! A cardinal sin in a Polish household, let alone a good restaurant. Boiled potatoes; that's how you cook them, not how they should be served. Pulling a potato out of the water, cutting it in half and then covering it with a thin gravy results in a water logged potato. Try this, boil the potatoes, cut them up, throw them back into the pot with no water and simmer on very low heat for a few minutes until they are a bit dry but not burnt. Toss with a pad of butter, sprinkle with fresh dill and you'll have to beat the customers away with a stick. City chicken; dry, dry, dry. If it wasn't for the thin gravy, I would have needed more iced tea to wash them down. In addition, I had one that was over-cooked, slightly burnt. Not a deal breaker for me because they tasted good but you guys can do much, much better than that, especially for what you charge for them. Canned corn with the city chicken? Yuck. How about some bigos or polish sauerkraut (kapusta)? You have a Polish restaurant, not a truck stop diner. Sorry, two strikes and I'm out. Was hoping for better but, eh. Heading to the Red Apple in Chicago for some real Polish food. You should try it out and learn something about Polish food. Maybe the owner is Polish but not the chef.

A friend of mine told me about this place, so since it's relatively close to home we decided to give it a try. We read the ads in our local paper about their Polish food. Firstly, this place has a serious identity crisis. Is it a local bar? Is it a Polish Restaurant? Is it a diner? I'm still not sure. This place used to be called Mugshots and it was a loud rock bar. One thing for certain, I've NEVER seen this many cars in the parking lot, and we went on a Tuesday night !!! The tables were 80% full and the bar stools were as well. We waited a good while for service, but it was ok I guess. A young man waited on us. It was obvious he had no waiter experience. I ordered a Polish Rueben, my wife ordered Pierogis. She had the dill soup and it was pretty dreadful. Definitely not authentic Polish. The Pierogis were ok, but they gave her different ones from which she ordered. Even after sending them back they still got it wrong. The waiter was slightly upset and indicated that the cook didn't think he made an error. My Rueben was unique. The bread was thick and good. It was loaded with big thick slices of turkey. The sauerkrat which was on it didn't taste like Polish kapusta, but more like German sauerkrat from out of a can or bag that was doctored a bit. It wasn't very good. All the while, there were people at the bar SCREAMING out loud, and across the room at others. It was pretty annoying. The volume in this room is extreme. It's like eating in a gymnasium. If you are looking for a calm, relaxing atmosphere - this is not the place. All in all, it's ok I guess. It might be good for the neighborhood. We won't go back to eat. It's not all that expensive, but it's not all that great either. It's definitely not authentic Polish like you would get in Hamtramck. It's passable at best.

First the waitress started with whining about her other job..not Hello. Received the wrong dinner twice, third was cold. No one to complain to as she said no manager there. She did not offer any compensation i.e. dessert, water refill, nothing. She did offer this tidbit "We have a Somalian cook that doesn't read English and doesn't know the difference between cheeses" (I ordered Farmers cheese pierogis) . Food was not bad. Won't go back again.
