We actually found this restaurant by accident on Instagram, the food just looked amazing in the photos. We made a reservation a day in advance, no problem at all. It’s a family-run place, and when we looked at the reviews, we realized it had been recommended by the Italian-American actor Stanley Tucci when he filmed his cooking show there. Everything about it is just adorable the people working there (most of them are related), and the lady serving the tables is so fun and cheerful, such a lovely person. We tried all sorts of dishes, but you have to try their carbonara, it’s the one Stanley himself recommended, and it really is delicious. The artichokes in oil are pure magic, and the different cuts of meat just melt in your mouth. The chicory salad — wow! Honestly, a perfect spot for dinner with friends before going out.

Amazing dinner at a family-owned restaurant that has kept tradition alive. The food and service are amazing. An absolute must for any visit to Rome. And yes, the carbonara is absolutely perfect but so are other items on the menu. One of the most enjoyable meals anywhere.

Amazing!!! I had watched Stanley Tucci visit here recently and decided to book for our anniversary whist in Rome .We arrived an hour early due to the bus. No issues with accomodating our early arrival. All the staff were friendly and fantastic service. The food was amazing, highly recommended getting the bistecca, it was fantastic and better than we had in Florence. Also had the artichoke, we had never had anything like it..amazing. Highly recommended visiting, we will definitely be returning on our next visit to Rome.

Had dinner here on our last night in Rome and it just so happened to be my favorite meal in the city. Food: The Florentine T-bone is out of the world. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. It’s so smoky and fatty. We also got a side of porcini mushroom that tasted extra amazing in the beef tallow. Other dishes were great too, the gnocchi with lamb ragu (lamb was very tender) and grilled squid were both delicious. Vibe: Old school Roman eatery. Very friendly staff and owner. The owner doesn’t speak much English but proudly told us that the restaurant has been in her family for five generations now. Oh & we told her that we were visiting from Brooklyn NY and she showed us photos of Eric Adams and Stanley Tucci during their visits. They also sent us some fernet branca on the house after dinner! Location: We stayed near Basilica of St Mary Major so it was like a 30 min walk for us. Had to go past the Termini station area which isn’t super pleasant, feels kinda like walking through the canal street area on the Tribeca side after sunset. The neighborhood the restaurant is in feels like east village mixed with bed-stuy. Some dive bars here and there, and definitely don’t see many tourists. Pretty interesting neighborhood to explore.

Traditional, community based Italian restaurant. That is very popular with the locals, and was recommended as a place to enjoy dinner. Their carbonara was perhaps some of the best pasta I’ve had in Italy. Using pork cheek instead of bacon, really enhanced the flavor of the dish. We added a Roman Roll (vegetables, wrapped in ham, surrounded by thinly shaved beef) which had an amazing gravy and almost tasted like beef stew. The restaurant has several sections of seats inside and has an outdoor section at the front of the restaurant seat several more tables (perhaps 20 tables) If you’re looking for something authentic, it’s worth the extra drive to get there. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable, and assisted us in ordering a taxi for the ride home. Reservations are made very easily online, note that they do not start their dinner service till 7 PM in the evening. Lunch and sometime around three.

Booked this spot because of the wise Stanley Tucci and it was truly delicious. Aldo went out of his way to reserve us a table by the AC (on request). They provided us course after course and it was all delicious. They were kind and attentive. I would absolutely recommend to anyone. True Roman food and a wonderful, relaxed, and lively experience

Amazing Carbonara and Trippa alla romana! The Bistecca alla Fiorentina was just perfect. Family restaurant with an Italian atmosphere. We went there two days in a row. One day was not sufficient!

The best meal we had in Roma. The food was incredible, our server was great and managed to help with a birthday surprise we had also. Worth a visit off the beaten track to try this incredible place. We ordered almost one of everything to share for four of us, pricing was very reasonably for what we got.
