My first Mochi donut. I love the light chewy and crispy texture. I recommend the starwbery milk, strawbery cookies n cream, salted caramel and my fave is Cinnamon sugar 😍. I wanted to try the korndog, however, it wasn't available at the time. Guess, I have to make another trip. This location is inside HongKong Supermarket in Allston.

Had a chance to try these mochi donuts fresh. They were open at 11am and I got to see the baking process because they have an open kitchen. I tried the matcha, white sesame, key lime pie, mint Cookies n Cream, passion fruit, strawberry milk and Earl Grey. The texture was soft and chewy. My favorite favor was the matcha and strawberry milk. Staff was helpful and friendly. These are the same price as the competitors in town. They also do have Korean corn dogs too. Worth a try

Google
These mochi Donuts are pricier but great hot and fresh in the morning. The bubble appearance makes them easier to share. The base is the same for All donuts but there are many glaze options. This donut shop is in a food court with seating available. My friends considered this donut shop to be their favorite in Brighton/Allston area that we tried in Boston.

Making my heart pound in joy 🤩 When I heard Boston was finally getting mochi doughnuts. I had 👏 to 👏 try it👏. It was worth it, but I am sad how quickly I ate the entire box. Everything was soft, delicate and chewy. It was the bite size that got me eating it away so quickly. Be warned once you start it’s hard to stop. The dough is light and airy because it’s made differently from a regular doughnut because of the mochi. Mochi has rice flour which gives it the spongy and air bubble texture. But it’s light and not greasy as a regular doughnut. I will be back soon to try the Korean corn dogs as well.

Google
(FYI- they’re located inside the food court of the 88 supermarket) Cute little stall where you can see them make all the donuts fresh and on site. Honestly the plain with sugar was my favorite. You can really taste the mochi and the texture of the donut that you couldn’t with the icing. However! All of the flavors we got were truly delicious with the white sesame being my fav. Their flavors rotate daily & they update their insta to showcase which flavors they’re serving so be sure to check there if there’s a particular flavor you’re looking for. Definitely go check it out!

Google
It is the best tasting mochinut i ever had 😋😋😋 it is soft, tasty and not very sweet. Try it when you’re near by. It’s a yum 😋

Google
A mochi donut is $3.95 ($4.23 with tax), so heads up. Totally worth it. The employee was excellent, knew her stuff, and got me a Cookies & Cream right off the rack. The donut was so tasty!

Google
Loved this spot inside of the food market. I'm a huge fan of mochi donuts, so I was stoked to stumble on it. It was pretty dead inside mid-afternoon. I ordered two, but they gave me 4, so I got to try some extra flavors. I got mango, strawberry, sugar. They were a bit sweet, but the dough was so good - light and not greasy. Strawberry was my favorite.

Yelp
the mochidonuts at pon de joy are so good! they're super chewy and soft, and don't taste like regular donuts. the matcha flavor and strawberry flavor are my favorites. the oreo flavor one is also super good. they sell half a dozen for $21.95 and a dozen for $39.95. you can also buy them individually. one of my college organizations has done multiple fundraisers with pon de joy, and they've all been successful! they sell them at a discounted rate for fundraiser. overall rating: 10/10

Yelp
A soft and chewy version of donut that is unrivaled in it's field in my eyes. These donuts feel a bit lighter yet still pack a punch of flavor. Located inside Super88 Market.

Alee L.

Yelp
I was super happy when I came because they had fresh donuts and they were just iced. Hence you can see the icing is still wet in my photos and some of it was wiped off on the paper bag. The donut itself is wonderful. It was delightfully airy, soft, and chewy. The icing flavors were too sweet for me. The passion fruit didn't taste like any passion fruit, it was just sweet. The strawberry milk was again sweet but did taste of strawberry. I was disappointed they didn't have the black sesame for me to try, they did have a white sesame one. If I ever come back, I should just get a sugar mochi donut.

Yelp
My mochi donut journey continues. I was in around Cambridge, MA and decided to make a trip to the Super 88 market to get some mochi donuts, which the location of Pon de Joy is inside the Super 88 food court not inside the Super 88 market. I was in a pinched for time so I ordered ahead online and chose to pick up the donuts. That was a great idea! Ordering online was wicked easy! You can order a box 6 or 12 mochi donuts. I chose the box of 6. I went to the counter and picked up my donuts and it was exciting to indulge! The flavors are Matcha, Matcha Cookies & Cream, Strawberry Milk, Black Sesame, Key Lime Pie and Chocolate Strawberry. Out of the 6 flavors, my favorite flavors are Chocolate Strawberry, Matcha Cookies & Cream and Strawberry Milk. The donut was light, airy, chewy and warm. Not too sweet but just the right amount of frosting. That to me is perfect and the right recipe! Well worth the trip! They do have a parking lot which is always great! The food court inside Super 88 has some great food stalls which was surprising because I didn't realize there was a-lot of Asian cuisine options. So next time I'm going to have go back and try some of the food stalls while getting my mochi donuts!

Yelp
Pon De Joy, I crown you with the title of the best Mochi Donut in Boston! If you were closer to me I would need to purchase a gym membership. The BEST mochi donuts guys. Pon De Joy is located inside of the 88 Supermarket foodcourt area. There is a touch menu ordering system that is fairly easy to use. The staff is super friendly. The guy who was at the counter the day we went gave each of my kids a free mochi donut. That was the sweetest thing ever. I then bought another half dozen to try. You pay first then pick your flavor after. The boxes have gotten even better. When they first opened, the box had a white interior, now it has a black interior. They have gone fancy. Lol. I really like the new box color. Looks like their flavors changes. I am usually really picky but there have not been a flavor that I did not enjoy. I can eat these all day! Which is why they are so dangerously addicting. The texture is soft and chewy. Now onto the most important question that everyone is wondering, how long do they last before they loose their chewiness. Four days!!! Yes! I tested so you don't have to. They will have the same chewiness texture until about day four. So if you need these to travel with you, they will make it by airplane, boat, or car if within that time frame. Hence, they are the king of mochi donuts in Boston! All the other places lose their texture by about day two. The ones from Pon De Joy are worth every penny!!! My guilty pleasure. I'd rather get a box of these than a box of chocolate on Valentine's Day. I would probably trade in my husband for a lifetime supply of these...just kidding! See my pictures.

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday afternoon and there was no one else in the vicinity really there to order donuts. It made the wait nonexistent and super quick - you just place an order on the kiosk and then the person behind the cashier is there to grab your donuts for you. I picked 6 of the most interesting flavors I thought my roommates and I would want and then left soon after - really efficient and smooth pick up! I've had mochi donuts from other establishments both in Boston and outside the city, but I found these to be the most memorable and delicious. The consistency is perfect, a combination of squishy yet light and somehow filling at the same time. The flavors were really well done as well - the matcha, strawberry, and cookies and cream are all classics while the white sesame was delectable and sweet while the lavender milk tea was floral and decadent while the poppyseed was truly delicious as well. Overall, if you're looking for mochi donuts, I would say Pon de Joy hits them out of the ballpark and is the IT place to go for this amazing dessert.

Yelp
Inside the Super 88 market food court this place is sooo yummy. They offer so many fun flavors and options, grab a box to go or grab one there after a meal. The donuts are so fresh fluffy and chewy, they are literally the best ever. We have been there several times and they are just so fresh. The fruit flavors and the cookies and cream are so good. They change their flavors as well seasonally.

Jen C.

Yelp
I came on a Sunday morning after some grocery shopping at Super 88. We ordered the black sesame and mint cookies and cream donuts. Using the kiosk was a little confusing at first, since I kept looking for the option to pick the flavors - you just select the quantity and tell the cashier your flavors. The black sesame donut was my favorite out of the two! Both the icing and the actual donut, itself, were quite sweet. The mint cookies and cream was good too, but I didn't think the mint flavor went as well with the donut base. I did notice that there were tons of donuts already made, which made getting our order very quick, but also resulted in donuts that were a bit drier/crispier than I was expecting. I also noticed that there's more icing on these donuts than on those from Mochinut. These donuts are also sweeter than those from Mochinut. I'm not implying that one is better/worse - they're just different lol. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and will check out other flavors next time we're in the area!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try mochi donuts for a while so I was excited when I came here on a Saturday afternoon and there was no line! I ended up getting one of each of the 6 flavors available: matcha, strawberry milk, key lime pie, earl grey, black sesame, and white chocolate with sprinkles. Half dozen came up to $20 so it's a little over $3 per mochi donut. Just as a disclaimer, this was my first time having mochi donuts so I wasn't sure what I was expecting. I expected more of a chewy mochi-esque texture, but they tasted just like regular donuts to me, except with different glazes of unique Asian flavors. A few of them were a bit too sweet (ie. white chocolate and earl grey). Matcha ended up being my favorite - it was not too sweet and the flavor shine through without being overpowering.

Erin W.

Yelp
Was doing some shopping at Super 88 Market and decided to try this "mochi donut" place. Maybe it was an off time, but the donuts we received were very blah. They were fresh or warm. The texture was kind off. Like ... not chewy enough or something. Pretty much ... this place is a no go for me. I'm sorry. Just prefer other places that are similar.

Yi H.

Yelp
Finally!!! A mochi donut place in Boston!!!!! Worth the hype, the donuts are so chewy and soft, flavor on point - not too sweet which is my favorite. They have rotating flavors every day which can be found on their Instagram. Apparently they sell out early on the weekends! I went on a weekday so they still had plenty left in the evening.

Edward W.

Yelp
During Halloween weekend, my friends and I got a half dozen mochi donuts to try out. We got the strawberry, white sesame, matcha and dalgona flavored ones. My favorite was definitely the white sesame ones. The strawberry and matcha donuts were also good too. I liked the texture of the mochi donut and it was not too sweet.

Scott C.

Yelp
Pretty pleased with the mochi donuts from this hidden gem tucked away in super 88's food court. On thanksgiving day, only a small selection of food stalls were open, and Pon de Joy happened to be one of them. The staff was very friendly and gave us their recommendations and well as their best sellers. We opted for the cookies and cream and green team mochi donuts. It was love at first bite and the savory and sweet mochi melted in my mouth. The flavor wasn't overpowering and certainly wasn't too sweet. My only regret was not buying a few more to enjoy for later. Check them out if you're in the area!!

Catherine C.

Yelp
To my fellow catering queens who have to order food in bulk for work, I wouldn't go with Pon de Joy. They cancelled my order an hour before it was supposed to be delivered so I had to scramble last minute to find a place and of course it came late :( They didn't have enough inventory to fulfill the order which is fine but there really should be a "while supplies last" disclaimer somewhere on their website or UberEats.

Yelp
Very cute and tasty donuts. My boyfriend, Francisco P. was craving these donuts, specifically, so we went on a quest to find them. We hadn't been to that grocery store before, so we didn't know that there was a food court area. We ended up stumbling upon it after checking out the market and then following food signs. It is very cool to see them frying the mochi donuts fresh, right in front of you. The "korn dogs" also looked unique and tasty- the one I saw someone eating looked like it had French fries on the outside. After tasting the texture of the donut, I can see what the hype is about. Crisp donut texture on the outside and then a mochi chew on the inside make for a new kind of donut experience. Francisco P. made the right choice of donut- the chai (creamy, cinnamon-y, and delicious).

Victoria C.

Yelp
One of the first mochi donuts in Boston right made by Kimchipapi located in Super 88 food court. I came on a Saturday afternoon and there was a short line to order on their big screen. They had 6 flavors (matcha, strawberry, hazelnut chocolate, vanilla, sugar, and chai latte), but they were out of sugar and chai latte when I arrived. After ordering on the screen you wait for your number to be called to pick your flavors. I got a dozen ($35 + tax) and the guy at the counter seemed very overwhelmed. I'm surprised they didn't have any donut boxes, but instead only used plastic take-out containers that only fit 2 mochi donuts. I ended up with 6 of these containers and 2 big bags to carry them in. I really enjoyed these mochi donuts and the strawberry milk was definitely my favorite. The donut itself is soft, but dense and chewy from the mochi while the glaze is thick and gives the donut a perfect amount of sweet flavor. I will definitely be coming back to try out the different flavors that they have.

Kristen K.

Yelp
Surprisingly large variety of flavors which rotate each day - when we went there were 12 flavors on offer at the time. Each of the six flavors we ordered were delicious and the donuts retained their mochi texture without becoming hard for the few days it took us to finish the box (which was also a surprisingly nice and sturdy box). Would continue to come here over mochinut, which we have also tried and liked but not quite as much.

La P.

Yelp
Best donuts I've tasted. So soft it literally melts in your mouth. Not too sweet just perfect. They have parking available. They have sooo many flavors strawberry milk tea my favorite. I think all of them can be my favorites honestly. So delish, fluffy tasty. Heavenly I'm telling you. I first tried one on Friday and by Saturday I was there again. A must try

Michele N.

Yelp
It does t get any better in the world Of mochi donuts!! Also try a cold brew!! The lemon poppy mochi was My favorite

Kelly Z.

Yelp
So I tried this place AFTER having Mochinut which is literally 3 minutes away from this place. I love Mochinut mochi donuts so when I heard Pon de Joy offered the same expectations. They key difference between them is the toppings/flavors/sweetness. Pon de Joy uses heavy and sweet frosting on all their donuts as shown in the picture. I can't really tell the flavor of the donut I'm eating because all I taste is sugar. The maple bacon was what I was excited to try the most but it just tasted like syrup. I was expecting sweet and salty, but it was all sweet. The bacon was just there for show and had no flavor. Overall, if you love frosting and have a sweet tooth then Pon de Joy is for you. But if you love unique flavors and variety then Mochinut has more to offer.

Karen I.

Yelp
Checked this place out since we usually get donuts from mochinuts in Allston. This place was good as well and have many more flavors compared to mochinuts. If you're looking to try different kinds of flavors I would recommend here! Love the boxes it comes in so if you're looking to gift I would get the donuts from here! I liked the flavors I tried except for the rose milk tea that one tasted like rose soap. But other than that, I've been here twice already and they had different types to choose from the second time around as well and I was happy with my purchase :) $19 for half a dozen donuts, a little pricey but mochi donuts are delicious and not too overwhelmingly sweet with a soft chewy texture!

Jenny T.

Yelp
These donuts were NOT my thing. Firstly, they were SUPER sweet, the icing is like a lot to handle, so you can only eat so many until your stomach is like stop. Second, I don't think it's worth the price. Third, despite all of these pretty colors, I didn't feel much difference in the flavors? Like maybe a slight difference but the icing is just overall sweet so a tangy mint or strawberry flavor doesn't really enhance it - they basically all tasted the same to me. I must say their marketing efforts are stellar though- their flavors like mint, strawberry milk, and their pretty icing colors can definitely make you want to buy a dozen. They're also super ig worthy, but I wouldn't come back again seriously.

Dj A.

Yelp
my fav donut spot in the area, decent location too with the different food places next to it and the market behind! i usually park in the lot and walk down a few mins to kimchipapi and get donuts before i leave! the donuts are the perfect amount of chewy and the icing adds a fun flavor :3 i love how they change most of the flavors every week! def recommend

Gloria H.

Yelp
I've been super pumped about this place ever since I saw an Eater article about its opening. There was a big crowd around the shop, which we soon realized was full of people waiting to receive their orders. You place your order at a touch screen system which works fine, and then once it's your turn you tell them which flavors you want. It took a *really* long time to get our orders. There were supposedly only 3 parties ahead of us but it took 20-30 minutes to get our donuts. There are plenty of donuts so I'm not sure what the hold up was. It seemed like there were some big orders and they seemed understaffed (only one person preparing donut orders). There was even someone who asked for a refund because their call number was 9 numbers before ours and they still hadn't gotten their order. Hopefully this process gets more streamlined soon! Waiting aside, we got the strawberry milk, hazelnut chocolate, and cookies and cream mochi donuts. The flavors were all nice. Compared to Mochinut around the street, the donuts were definitely lighter and less greasy, but also felt less substantial as a result (maybe more air pockets as well?). I liked the cookies and cream flavor the best out of the three. Given the choice I would probably return to Mochidonut as they were cheaper (Pon de Joy is 3 donuts for $10.50 or 6 for $19; Mochidonut is 3 for $10 and 6 for $18), had more toppings, and felt more substantial. Pon de Joy probably has a closer taste to Mister Donut in Japan though (lighter, less sweet). Overall I hope that the wait times decrease here (a lot of this is probably due to opening craziness) -- it's great to have this right in the Super 88 plaza for some mochi donuts and Asian groceries!

Kim L.

Yelp
4.5/5 - The decent amount of hype around these donuts has been right on par. The donuts themselves are great. So light and fluffy with the right amount of chew. These donuts have definitely been the best mochi donuts I've had to date. The people behind the counter are super nice, friendly, and helpful. If you can't tell by the open view of their kitchen, they're also very busy, which is pretty impressive and understandable since they're tasked with making Korean corn dogs and frying/glazing donuts. The service of getting your food is very fast, but you'll have to have a little patience with the ordering system because it's mostly through a kiosk off to the side unless you have the desire or ability to pay in cash at the counter. This just makes ordering a little slower from time to time if people in front of you aren't familiar with the menu/don't know what they want. This isn't really the fault of Pon De Joy and is really only is a nuisance if you're in a rush. Hopefully, a better system can be put in place like a physical menu or QR codes to scan for online ordering, similar to their sibling and partner Kimchipapi Kitchen. My reason for taking off a half star is mostly the accuracy of the glazes. It seems that anything that's not matcha, chocolate, or strawberry just tastes like vanilla sugar. It's not a bad thing if that's what they're going for, but it is disappointing when you're expecting one flavor and just getting vanilla (as in their vanilla sprinkle and chai latte flavors tasted exactly the same). TLDR: Would I recommend stopping by Pon de Joy? Absolutely! The flavors I would go for from them (so far) are sugar, matcha, hazelnut chocolate, and strawberry flavors. They're fun, family friendly, and great snacks.

Alyanna T.

Yelp
So glad Boston now has a solid mochi donut spot. This is my 3rd visit to Pon de Joy, and every time has been a treat! My partner and I picked up a half dozen box; our six flavors today were matcha, white sesame, strawberry milk, matcha cheesecake, orange cream, and red velvet -- TASTE: 5/5 - I really enjoyed the nuttiness of the white sesame, the sugar rush of the strawberry milk, and the sweetness of the matcha cheesecake. So good! TEXTURE: 4/5 - love the soft, chewy mochi paired w the smooth, flavored coatings. Plus, some donuts have toppings that add even more texture. Eat them fast though, the chewiness isn't the same after a few days! PRICE: 4/5 - approximately $20 for a half dozen seems like a lot, but I'm usually willing to spend more on dessert like this SERVING SIZE: 5/5 - my partner and I will switch between sampling some of the donuts, to eating donuts whole. The mochi ball-shape makes it super easy to pick and choose SERVICE: 4/5 - there was quite a crowd at around 5pm on a Saturday afternoon, but my partner and I waited to order a little later and there was no line anymore. The folks behind the counter asked for our flavor choices right after we placed our order on the screen! TAKEOUT: 5/5 - Pon de Joy must have recently stepped up their donut box game! These new containers are cute and now also super sturdy PARKING: 4/5 - the Super 88 parking lot is definitely tight, but I've usually been able to find a spot

Emily S.

Yelp
We tried the chocolate hazelnut and strawberry milk mochi donuts. I've had other mochi donuts before and these were less chewy than I expected. The chocolate flavor was pretty generic, and what you would expect from any donut shop. The strawberry flavor tastes like a more artificial strawberry pocky flavor. Ultimately I would expect a chewier texture from a mochi donut shop.

Victoria T.

Yelp
loved it! super light and fluffy mochi donuts. I got the strawberry, and I liked it a lot, it wasn't too sweet or heavy. The donut is bigger than I expected too. I think it's just as good as the dough club in NYC (the only other mochi donut place I've been to for comparison).

Rocky W.

Yelp
This store is located in the food court area of Super 88. They have tables you can sit at and you order at a kiosk. I tried the mochi donuts here and from Mochinuts so that I could compare the two. Unfortunately, I think Mochinuts came up on top. A box of 6 donuts is $1 more expensive here. They served the donuts in a generic plastic clear box while Mochinuts served them in a box with a logo. Also the donuts here were more generic and uninspired. Their flavors at the time included Matcha, Strawberry, Hazelnut Chocolate, Vanilla, Sugar, and Chai Latte. The matcha donut here was a donut with green frosting versus the matcha donut at Mochinuts where you could actually taste the matcha and it came with a matcha pocky stick. I also ordered their Korean Corndog with half cheese and half meat. I would probably not order it again, it looked big, but the main ingredient was air. Once I bite through the fried shell there wasn't alot inside. Not worth the price.

Yutin Z.

Yelp
Connected to supermarket, so I stopped by and got a passionfruit donut. The texture and flavor were both really good! Love that they have unique flavors to try! The donuts are a bit pricey but normal price for mochi donuts.

Thanh L.

Yelp

I tried the matcha, white sesame, key lime pie, mint Cookies n Cream, passion fruit, strawberry milk and Earl Grey. The texture was soft and chewy. My favorite favor was the matcha and strawberry milk. Staff was helpful and friendly. These are the same price as the competitors in town. They also do have Korean corn dogs too. Worth a try

Josh Y.

Yelp
Delicious donuts, easy to order, and friendly staffs. Received the Intel of this place yesterday, and bought 4 boxes (6 each). They only had boxes that fits 6. Texture of the donuts was excellent, and the glazes were flavorful. They are made fresh at the shop, so you will never get an old donut. I must have been the first person to order 4 boxes, because the staff was a bit surprised.

Melanie W.

Yelp
First time trying mochi donut in Boston. Stopped by around 7ish, their corndogs sold out but it doesn't matter since I tried it already at the other location. Mochi donut was the main reason to stop by. Soft and not too sweet but a little pricey for the donut. I brought the white chocolate with sprinkles, strawberry milk, and black sesame. The black sesame was my favorite, less sweet compared to the other two flavors that I brought. Probably come back again if I am around the area. Hope they have more flavor when I come back next time. I will try Mochinut before coming back since they both in the same area.

Mellany B.

Yelp
My friend discovered Pon de Joy on IG so of course we had to try mochi donuts! Located inside Super 88 foodcourt. Upon arriving, there was no line so we ordered at the kiosk. The guy at the front asked if we wanted all six flavors and then, he handed us a box that was already packed. I thought it was weird that it was ready to go. It was half a dozen for $19, a little bit pricey but I really wanted to try these mochi donuts. They are chewy, just the perfect amount of sweetness and such a light dessert. I tried every flavor in the box - sesame/vanilla (?), matcha, strawberry, chocolate, cookies & cream and my favorite - lemon poppyseed. YUM! I've seen that they do sell out so maybe they were trying to prepare themselves with the rush when it does happen. But, I would definitely go back to try new flavors! Thank you for bringing mochi donuts to Boston

Hubert H.

Yelp
Don't feel great shelling out more than $2 for a donut, but this one might have been worth it. The texture is really soft and interesting inside, a little bit sticky, and relative to other donuts, the frosting didn't seem too sweet. They do seasonal (weekly) flavors as well.

Norina N.

Yelp
Got a box of 6 mochi donuts in assorted flavors & beef corn dog, i didnt like any flavor of the donuts, its very mild, except matcha which taste fine. The only thing I like most is the chewy texture. 6 pieces for $19, about $3/piece, it's worth it if both texture & flavors are good.

Meira S.

Yelp
Tried these donuts for the first time today and they are just plain delicious. I absolutely love the texture and flavors. I do agree with some other reviewers that they are sweet, but that's what I was hoping for. :) I would say that perhaps a plain variety or even a savory one might be really nice. Maybe just a couple without the frosting for a less sweet option. But again, I thought these were really good!

Bowie W.

Yelp
SERVICE: - There was only 1 person working since it was their 1st day open. The guy was very pleasant - The 1st disappointment I felt during this entire experience was when I saw the flavors that they were offering. I was so excited to try their coffee, yuzu, and ube flavors since I've heard so much about them but they were only offering the very basics - strawberry, chocolate, yogurt, pistachio and black sesame. I gave them a pass for this since I knew it was their 1st day opening so they probably didn't have everything set up for all the flavors yet. PRESENTATION: - Honestly, my biggest disappointment was right when I opened my box of mochi donuts. They had one of each flavor on a plate at the counter to show you what they have that day and none of them were decorated. I didn't think much of it since I figured they were just displays and the mochi donuts I've had in LA were always very pretty and highly decorated so I expected the same thing from here. So imagine my disappointment when it comes with just that glaze and nothing else. Especially when they're so much $$$ for just 1! FLAVOR/TEXTURE: - The overall texture of the mochi donuts were good. A nice shell has formed over the mochi to protect the soft interior. It was chewy in just the right amount and you can clearly see the air bubbles within the dough within each bite. I love the wonderful tinge of sweetness that you get from using rice flour. - Pistachio: honestly, it just tasted like sugar. The icing on there was so sweet, and it was an artificial sweetness. I would not have known that it was pistachio if it wasn't for the fact that it's colored green. - Black Sesame: the person at the counter had said some people either love or hate this flavor. I do quite like it as the sesame seeds gave it a tinge of bitterness that helped cut down the sweetness from the icing. - One thing that I think would have elevated this in one huge step (and make it worth the $ if they're going to charge this much without any decorations) is to actually FLAVOR THE MOCHI itself. The only flavor comes from the icing  and even that wasn't that well done since it's too sweet. I could easily make my own mochi donuts and just flavor my own icing if it's all the same flavor for the mochi - and save a lot more money with that. OVERVIEW - The mochi itself was good. It's only the icing that's flavored which is a disappointment and the icing wasn't even done well. I would most likely not try this again since it was so expensive for just one of these for the taste/look that I got

Yelp
I tried 6 flavors: Horchata, matcha, black sesame, taro, corn flakes and blueberry pie. The donuts were soft yet had the great Mochi chew! I don't know what the other reviewer was saying that they couldn't taste much of a difference between the flavors because all the flavors lived up to the name. Highly recommend this place for mochi donuts!! Very friendly staff too!

Yelp
I am seriously in love with these donuts. I was very excited to try it when they first open and oh man, they didn't disappoint. The donut is light and chewy with just the perfect amount of sweetness. And I'm sorry but Mochinut doesn't come close to the quality, flavor and presentation of Pon de Joy. I would pay whatever they charged for these donuts because they're 100% worth it. Super excited for the Newton Falls location :3

Yelp
Mochi donuts have finally come to Boston!! Ordered ahead online, arrived 20 minutes later, and picked up my dozen donuts no wait. They were very delicious... almost addicting. Light, chewy, and all the goodness you would expect from a mochi donut. I will definitely be back for more!

Yelp
The flavor and texture is great. The price is okay. The service was horrible. Two people on one register and it took forever for them to get anything.

Yelp
Back again! I love this place. I just tried mochinut in allston. Their donuts are pretty, but the people there are rude and it's super crowded, and a long wait. Visit here instead; and they now have korean corndogs!

Yelp
Delicious mochi donuts with a variety of flavors found inside the Super88 food court. Hope there's a glazed version soon so I can relive my memories of Mister Donut

Yelp
Brand new "mochi donut" shop inside the Super 88 market!! I originally found out about Pon De joy on Instagram where they have a huge following. They post about how they create fun flavors such as chocolate potato chip and strawberry matcha. We called ahead to ask if they still had donut availability on a Friday evening and the person who answered was extremely pleasant, kindly sharing all the flavors they had! My friend and I ordered matcha, strawberry, chocolate potato chip, and black sesame. The black sesame was my favorite of the bunch followed by the chocolate potato chip. I felt the strawberry tasted a little too fake for me but very on point for Japanese/Korean flavor of strawberry. The mochi donut itself is super fun because you can easily split off a little sphere to eat like a munchkin! It was very easy to share pieces with my friend. We each ordered 2 donuts to try the flavors but I would have been satisfied with 1. I brought some leftover home and warmed it in the microwave, so yum!! They were cold when we got them in the store. Lastly, the donut box was so beautifully designed, we felt bad throwing it away when we finished. Overall, very good experience and great for BU students/those local to the area!!

Yelp
I love these donuts- I don't know if there's much else to say. They are fun to eat (pull the pearls apart!), and they are always fresh. I've been here first thing in the morning and before closing and the donuts freshness never waivers. I would say my favorite is the black sesame and the matcha. The only thing I regret is the extra weight I can from eating an entire box. By myself.

Yelp
Chewy, sweet, and delicious! Location is easy to get to and ordering is done on a kiosk. It's connected to Kimchipapi Korndogs so you can order a snack for the dessert. They only have about 6 flavors available at a time (or at least when I went at 6pm). Imagine it would be even more delicious when freshly fried and slightly crispy. Excited to go here again and try the other flavors!
