"Part art gallery, part hipster haven, Pon Pon is an escape from the raucous scene that is Larimer Street. Go for an inconspicuous drink on a vintage couch with vinyl playing in the background. Best for a bottle of beer, or cocktails such as The Keef (double Grey Goose, Orangina) and some sparkling conversation." - Josie Sexton

Very dive bar. Came on a Tuesday night around 930pm. Very chill. Not crowded. Great drinks. Decent price. No food.

John Kennedy

Google
Really nice place. The decor is really interesting with lots of fun vinyls. For a hip bar in Denver the prices are very reasonable. Bathroom mirror wasn’t anything special for a mirror selfie, but there are a bunch of mirrors around the bar that you can snap a quick photo in for the ‘gram.

Elena Haverluk

Google
cool spot, cool art gallery, nice drinks, BUT the bartenders are absolutely hostile. they were drinking a l o t, one of them was doing coke in the bathroom, two of them almost got in a fight in the hallway in front of the bathroom literally screaming each other, and then randomly one decides he’s had enough of us, accuses my buddy of slurring his words, refuse to serve all ten of us, charges my other friend a 200$ tab for all of us even though we’re were paying separately as we go, and then makes us leave. literally so aggro when we were being normal and chill.

Google
It's our favorite bar in Denver. I grew up here, but only visit from time to time now. PonPon is hands down Denver's coolest bar, and it's not simply surface: yes, the atmosphere is exceedingly cool, but it's also extremely playful, and if you feel intimidated by the atmosphere, the incredibly warm bar staff will help you feel at ease. This is truly a sophisticated spot posing as a dive bar - you can get a glass of Txlakolina as readily as you might get a $4 Gennessee, or the best Japanese whisky cocktail as easily as a Mexican Coke or a glass of Four Roses from the 1970s salvaged from an estate sale. There's something here for everyone, from the eclectic decor to the art gallery in back. This is a must visit spot if you like cozy watering holes with kick-a music and awesome service.

Jonas Edwards

Google
Horrible establishment. The bartenders only care about tips. They do not care about the service. You want a drink? I recommend another place. The bartender came up to me and asked why I tipped zero. I said because you had an attitude when I asked for a simple drink. Learn to treat your clients. This business is not about you it’s about the consumers that want to have a good time.

Kayla Goldstein

Google
Such a cool place! The drinks were reasonably priced and the art on the walls was amazing in this gallery room. The lighting was moody which only made this place better.

Google
Cold beers, red wine and coke, a little gallery space in the back. Record spinning, dimly lit, wicked space with art all over the walls, and cool furnishings. I love coming here whenever I'm in Denver, the vibes are immaculate. What more could a guy want from a bar?

David Shaffer

Google
Hardly enjoyed our visit to this kitschy little bar that tries to hard to hip and cool. Very dark inside, small bar and some tables around the bar as well as outside. The drinks are expensive - we don't mind that if you are getting some value however they are also poured with precise measurement - to the milliliter. No chance for anything that resembles a stronger drink. I prefer a healthy pour at the bars I patronize. The bartender was perfunctory and not very welcoming. This place is everything I find undesirable in a watering hole. Patronize at your own risk.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
I really like this bar. It has a great vibe, unique beers from all around the world and interesting cocktails. I've always been able to find a seat, despite its cozy interior. The art gallery in the back is a nice addition in case you want to meander around and stretch your legs. I like that they spin some old vinyl and the music selection is always great. I've always had quick, attentive service. Definitely will be back.

Andrea S.

Yelp
I've been to Pon Pond a few times and I've always loved the vibe... especially on a busy night when you can go into their little art gallery! My drink however wasn't the best and it came in the most awkward of glasses so it kept spilling because my arm would get hit because it was packed.

Jason B.

Yelp
First time here and received horrible customer service, I walked out holding a beer forgetting that I couldn't carry drinks outside of the bar and myself and group of friends got berated by the door woman who was extremely rude. After asking why she felt the need to be so rude she took my drink and said I needed to leave. I went to grab my card from the bartender and asked to speak with the manager and asked him why his door person needed to be so rude to me and my friends and he argued because "people are assholes". Upsetting that they treat their customers like this by default. Would avoid this place if possible :/

Sam S.

Yelp
Went here after dinner with some friends and had a blast. They have an art gallery in the back which was pretty cool.

Molly W.

Yelp
Good service, good price for the drink that I got. Loved the little art gallery attached, and the general vibe of the bar. Definitely got a bit busy in the smaller space, but it was still really enjoyable!

Emily M.

Yelp
So neat! I loved the records they were playing and the inclusion of the mini gallery in the back was excellent. I will definitely be returning to check out more of the vintage decor in the actual bar part. But the bartenders were so nice and it was a fun place to meet new people and get a taste of the Denver art scene.

Stefanie C.

Yelp
Cute little local spot on Walnut that's open late and features an art gallery in the back room. Came here with a friend and her coworkers. Ordered some cheap booze at the bar and found open seats for everyone. Chill bartenders. Chill vibes. Everyone needs to have a late night rendezvous favorite in their back pocket that's reliably open. Guess for me now it's Pon Pon Bar!

Steve M.

Yelp
Great bar, plenty of drink options, always a fun time on a Friday or Saturday night. If you go get a Czechvar beer.

Joshua P.

Yelp
Very unique place for friends to hang. Unfortunately, I had dinner before visiting, so I only had the drink. The drinks were a hit and the vibe was perfect.

Darius B.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite bars in Denver - not too divey and not too fancy, just right, with an interesting nautical theme, lots of old records on the walls, lots of art, and just a generally cool ambience. Plenty of beer, some wine, and a small (but very interesting) selection of cocktails. I always have a good time at Pon Pon.

Will B.

Yelp
The last night of a work trip in a great city calls for some extra time with people you only see 1-2 times a year. So for a night cap, Pon-Pon was what was decided by our local expert. And he made a pretty good choice. The ambiance is what immediately stands out about this place. Very dark and a little loud. But the decor is what wins you over. Aside from the blown up Yelp review on the wall, you definitely feel the the multi-decade vibe they clearly nailed. Don't base your drink quality on my selection. It is pretty easy for a bartender to pour a bourbon on the rocks. The service was relatively good. But nothing exceptional. For conversation, it was slightly too loud. But with my inability to read lips, I am what you would call "bar deaf". And that really shows my age. It makes me feel like those insurance companies that talk about becoming your parents. Cool spot but maybe not a place I would frequent. But take that from a guy who would rather pull the lazy move and drink my bourbons from a chill and comfy seating arrangement. Overall, really cool bar that I would visit again but not frequent.

Cameron W.

Yelp
Drinks are terrible, taps haven't been cleaned in a long time, bar is full of fruit flys, front of house is rude, managers are WAY too lenient with what their staff does in all the wrong ways and honestly it's not fun or welcoming. Seriously, do not go here.

Annette K.

Yelp
Hip, punk-ish, rock music, low key, fun, hole-in-the-wall, artsy bar. The decor is funky and nostalgic including old concert posters, album covers, and quirky celebrity photos from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's. I stopped by on a Saturday night after a Rockies game. The drinks are super cheap which is hard to find downtown! You can get a beer for as little as $3. They have a live DJ there on the weekends playing underground/indie music. What's super cool is they have a small art gallery in the back you can wander through with your beer. It really reminded me of dive bars in other parts of the world such as Europe or Cuba - where music, art, and counter culture all meld together in a chill place to grab a drink!

Clayton W.

Yelp
This place is cool and small. don't bring your douchey friends here. Don't come here for ping pong either

Issabelle F.

Yelp
4-stars for the vibes, cheap drinks, eclectic furniture, and large poster of the Yelp review on the wall. Docked one star for the service beause the lady working the bar was so rude to my friend and I. However, she did make a good old fashioned, so I'll give her props for that. Plus, the bar was cool enough where I'd still come back for more beverages. The furniture was eclectic that's for sure. The couches were funky and reminded me of what would be at an old high school/college basement party. With the couple kissing on it and all. Minus the grumpy bartender, this is probably one of the better dive bars I've been to in Denver.

Josh R.

Yelp
We like this place. It looked closed but the vibes are good. Here's a picture of us enjoying ourselves. Yelp.

Ariel L.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Cozy vibe, high quality drinks, and really fun. We came here and got their specialty cocktail (vodka and orangina) and it was delicious! Would absolutely come here again. One small note-the prices are a little high, but honestly very worth the vibe. Definitely recommend.

Brittany C.

Yelp
What a weird and fun little hole. This is a hidden dive with strange stuff on the walls, a funky art hall in the back, and cheap wine and beer options -- we're talking beer cans for $3. Hipster central and it's wonderful - I liked it and would be back!

Megan R.

Yelp
Hipsters, rejoice! Pon Pon is one of the coolest bars in RiNo. I give it 4.5 stars--here's the breakdown: Vibes: 5 stars Ugh, the vibes. They're everywhere! You have officially left 2016 Denver and stepped into a 1970's lounge, complete with a wall covered in only Simon & Garfunkel vinyl records. Extra points for the midcentury furniture and the cassette player used for tunes. Drinks: 4 stars I ordered a cocktail from their list the first time I came here, but I probably won't do that again. It was $12 for a teeny tiny drink that took a few pours and one stir to make. Maybe I was paying for the sprig of rosemary? From now on I order a glass of wine or a beer and everything is A-okay. Service: 4 stars Hit or miss, but generally friendly. I occasionally get a vibe from a bartender that they're a little too cool for me, but they actually probably are, so it's fine. Location: 5 stars Pon Pon is located right in the middle of RiNo, but still feels sort of like a secret (but not in an overdone speakeasy kind of way). This spot is pretty hidden and for a while just had a handwritting sign on the door with the bar's name. Dig it. All in all, a rad new bar in Denver. I'd suggest you bring a date you're trying to impress or your artsy friends here instead of your parents...but hey, I don't know your parents.

Cat V.

Yelp
If you're looking for an overpriced hipster bar with a "we don't shower" bartender vibe, you've found the place. Cocktails range from $9-$13 and we had two off their list and neither was palatable. First, when I asked for the drink menu, the waitress all but snarled and hexed my family. After ordering, it was a solid 7-10 minute wait for two cocktails. A little more than the usual cocktail wait, but I was fine. The jalapeño tequila drink was too spicy - and not just for me, but our friend group of four all agreed. A friend had the whiskey elderflower cocktail and it was *extremely* bitter - also undrinkable and again, we all tasted and agreed on it. Giving it two stars for clean bathrooms & being open until two. If you can deal with the over the top faux dive bar atmosphere, you're a stronger woman than me.

Evangelia S.

Yelp
Went there early (8-10pm) on a Friday night and really enjoyed it. This bar has a nice retro ambience, cool music, and a decent (not impressive at all) drink menu. I really liked the Japanese nuts too. Bought a pack for just 1.5$. There are a few tables with velvet armchairs. Sitting at an armchair made me relax and enjoy even more! By 10 PM the bar was almost full. Would be happy to go back and check it out at a later time.

Darika S.

Yelp
The staff was super nice. The drinks weren't bad and they had some pretty decent specials on some manhattans and beers. But I got anxiety because it felt like I was in a hoarder house. Seriously, there's shit everywhere. On the shelves behind the bar, on the walls, and nothing really made sense. I can see why people would like this bar, I mean it's unique. But I just can't enjoy it.

Monique V.

Yelp
I walked up to the bartender & asked if they served the tequila filled drinks to my customer as asked for. They said no, I went back to my customer to ask if they were OKAY with what the bar offered, they said Yes. I returned to to the bartender ready to ask & HE denied me. He said I was disrespectful & unable to order with them because of his preference. I was sober & only buying drinks for my friends. & he denied us service out of speculation. I'll let you know, my customers were wearing suits & now being told to leave because of NO APPARENT REASON.

Adam R.

Yelp
Stop in at the recommendation of a friend who works at Cart Driver. Katie, the bartender, was lovely and great to chat with about a variety of topics. They play all their music on a record player and the ambiance is very 1970s. This place sucks now. It's overrun. I was standing in the crowded hallway and one on the bartenders yelled at me to get out of the way. Nope. As you can see below, the owner is very professional.

Austin S.

Yelp
Chill evening place. Came here with some restaurant friends to have a drink after close. If you want a late night spot in Rhino this or Matchbox are nice. Few beers on draft but mostly cans. Cocktails and wine are the deal here. Several couches and chairs to sit on with a small party. You can grab a few seats at the bar but depending on the night or crowd the bar area gets crowded. People jockeying for position to order drinks would be right in your face and against your back. Fairly small but wasn't too crowded on our visits. One bartender (owner) did an awesome job. Snapped at a friend of mine but she was being rude. Small art gallery in a back room. No dedicated parking lot. Street parking is available at two hour intervals. Otherwise park further down on Larimer or Blake where limits are not posted. Come in. Have a drink. Don't be a jerk. Plain and simple.

Tiffany N.

Yelp
Any place that offers a bottle of sparkling wine for $30 is a-ok with me any day. Throw in eclectic decor and cozy seating and you've definitely made a fan out of me. Plus you'll always know what time it is in Hoboken thanks to their strange world clocks wall so there's that. I stopped into Pon Pon on a quiet night - there were maybe two other people in the bar when we showed up around 9 which is exactly how I like my bars now that I'm closer to the "get off my lawn" stage of ages. This spot is small so it wouldn't take a lot to make it crowded and it's in the ever-so-hip neighborhood of RiNo so I'm sure it does get crowded on the weekend, but on a Monday you are golden if you are looking for a kitschy cool little cocktail spot. The bartender could have been friendlier to us, but maybe she was just having a bad day. She wasn't rude exactly, just more apathetic than I'm used to in Denver I suppose. But, that isn't enough to deter me from coming back another time, which I'm sure I will do.

Steven W.

Yelp
A neat little bar in the heart of Rino that's got a lot of charm with a little art gallery attached to it. It has a lot of old school vibe about it with retro record covers on the wall, wingback chairs and style. It has a few arm chairs for you to chill and sip on your drinks and then it has a communal style table next to the bar. It has a selection of cocktails, beers, wine and 1 cider the night I went. The drinks were alright-nothing special. The service was ok-ish. It was the typical too cool for school attitude which seems to be acceptable for a "hipster" joint. I would def check it out and see for yourself.

Max V.

Yelp
Martin was an absolute pleasure. Met all of my needs and is always super accommodating as usual. Handsome devil too. 10 outta 10. Would bang.

Jason M.

Yelp
I would honestly rather drink at an Applebee's on a Wednesday night. The owner, looks like Danny Masterson on that 70s show, agreed to host a friends party before regular hours at a nominal cost. We got there and nothing was set up, which is fine and a quick fix. Small get together and for some reason he was just an angry non social guy the whole time. Great little bar, small, lots going on with the decor, and great drink selection. I understand at night when it's busy not to bother the bartender/owner, but this was different. Gave him a few compliments on his place, tried making small talk, and he was just a really arrogant dick to be honest. Plenty of bars in Denver that offer the same amenities and have way more personable and hardworking employees.

Jarrett B.

Yelp
Pon Pon is a small bar with unique vibes. It feels like a 1930s throwback lounge and they have amazing decor throughout. Its a small bar and is great to take a date. Its perfect bar to grab a drink while you're waiting for a table at the restaurants that don't take reservations in RiNo like Work and Class. Service can be a bit slow but the bartenders are usually friendly. Drinks can be on the pricer side. Definitely worth checking out!

Maria P.

Yelp
I didn't realize that there were so many hipsters in Denver. I felt like I walked off the subway and into a bar in Brooklyn. For a Friday night, this place offered a cool, chill space with open seats. This is compared to the other bars in the area, which were packed, hot, and smelly. The bartenders were on point and made a great mixed specialty drink. For a ten dollar price point, it was spot on. Cool, funky interior and an interesting crowd. I can't help but wonder...where do they shop for clothes!?! Cool enough that I will be back!

kelly m.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Monday night while doing some bar hopping in the neighborhood and this bar made my night. Pon Pon is my ideal bar. It is a small, quirky, hidden cocktail bar with great music and there was barely anyone there that night. We ordered our drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere and music played by the bartender on cassette. There are conversational zones set up for small groups of 2 to four with small couches and chairs. All clearly look like they are from the 70's. There's also one long, high top table that fits about 12. The bar is not long either and fits about 8. Suffice to say, this is a small bar. All the cocktails are craft, made from scratch so you have to be patient. They also have specials but I recommend their cocktail menu. What the bar lacks in space, they more than make up for in wall decor. There is so much on the walls to take in- from a giant line by numbers to album covers to local art, it is very eclectic. If you go, keep it low key and you'll have a great time.

Chase T.

Yelp
Dig this place. Dig it hard. If you like small, intimate, 70s lounge-y, hidden vales of bars, this is your spot. What this bar lacks in space, it makes up for in feels, and a pretty advanced selection of beverages. Amidst ornate, thematic decor, you'll notice a plethora of eye candy lining these walls, such as an expanse of Simon and Garfunkel's "Sounds of Silence" records, punk idols' names and mugs in frames, and a highly accurate painting of a pickle.

Zach Z.

Yelp
Five out of five stars. Ok? Don't ask questions. But if you must know...prompt service, great vibes, solid soundtracks. It's a hidden gem in the middle of the buzz.

Emily M.

Yelp
Small, intimate, not pretentious. Loungy but not dingy. The art room in the back has changing exhibits and is fun to wander through. There is a high-top community table, seats at the bar, comfy big chairs, and couches. Wall decor and lighting is quirky and fun.

Grant S.

Yelp
Cool little art bar. Feels like you've been shrunken down and placed in a diorama. They play good music and the bartenders are nice. Definitely glad I came across this spot. They also have some nice wallpaper that gives it a David Lynchian vibe. Nothing special about the drinks, just go for location and atmosphere.

Alfred J.

Yelp
This establishment wishes it was in Wicker Park Chicago circa 2005. A tight fit in this L-shaped bar with a sundry of kitsch crap on the walls. The bar tenders kept to themselves as they serve 40 year yuppies overly priced cocktails. The beer prices are decent as you are a trapped audience of boojsh talking as if they were 21 year old punks. Nothing impressive. It's the Mercury Cafe of bars. Eclectic and insipid.

Becca C.

Yelp
Pon Pon is a great bar, not too crowded, and is filled with ironic old furniture you might find in your grandparents house. The vibe is fun and cocktails are delicious. I got the Gabba GABBA HeY! It was very tasty and had a nice kick from the jalapeño infused tequila.

Denise G.

Yelp
What a super cool speakeasy ... right down to the subtle doorway! Paul makes great drinks, and happy hour is a great reason to start early! Love the vibe and music (which is not loud contrary to a previous comment). My Old Fashioned was perfectly made and the throwback tunes really cemented the vibe. Note that the door has PON above it so don't miss the entry! Thanks Paul!

Christopher B.

Yelp
This is a hidden, kitschy, tiny bar that you would pass by a million times without noticing. But if you're looking for it then you know what you've discovered. A number of people told me it reminds them of Japan, which is does, and it has that 70's vibe going, which almost reminds me of my grandma's house. It's a really relaxed vibe with bartenders that know their stuff. They have some beers that you normally don't find other places and it's about the only place I'm willing to get away from Colorado brews, dare I say.

Mona K.

Yelp
Such a cool bar. The definition of hipster embodies every facet of this place. You walk into a room decorated with old records, airport furniture, huge comfy armchairs, and awesome art all over the walls Past the bar area is an art gallery space that features art by rotating artists. There are tables in there too where you can enjoy your drinks and some art. Great beer and wine selection and just a cool vibe overall. Great location too in the trendy RiNo neighborhood!

Roy H.

Yelp
I rode my bike right by here at first..but if you look for the address on the building its pretty easy to spot! I really like this bar..its small and cozy with some really fun decor. Kinda funky 70s style. Old chairs, couches, and bar stools. They have a record player and a ton of old vinyl too. They had some pretty decent beers on tap. A limited release from BSB, an awesome Czech Pilsner, and a few other decent beers. They also have a good amount of cans/bottles as well. The mixed drink menu looked solid too but my friends and I all stuck with beers. The bartender was really nice and she made some nice recommendations to my friends that didn't know what beer they were in the mood for. Pretty simple but fun place. I will for sure be coming back!

A S.

Yelp
I came here by myself and I have to say, I felt like the bartenders did not want me there. Just kind of unfriendly. Very Williamsburg 2005 atmosphere. Like sulk in the corner with my bourbon type place. Pricey, albeit tasty mixed drinks. I feel $9 would be a more appropriate drink price for the very small size. I wish Denver had more little bars like this, but with a more welcoming atmosphere. It seems one or the other these days.

Bobby J.

Yelp
Great bar! Love coming here when I am in town from Los Angeles. Great music, good drinks and chill vibe.

Marisa M.

Yelp
You kinda have to look for it, not obvious. But I feel like this place is on the brink of awesome. They have all the perfect staples, hip art, funky bartender, interesting cocktails, solid tunes. I went with my music biz friends and they were eating it up. I can picture it being a great place to have a shin dig with friends. Perfect for for RiNo scene.

David T.

Yelp
I used to like this place. It was a cool, quirky little haunt that not many knew about and the service was great. Then something changed. Now it's just filled with douche canoes and rude pretentious bartenders. It's pretty bro-tastic. Sorry, I don't appreciate being talked down to. Not a fan anymore.

Joseph B.

Yelp
This is a cool little spot. Chill crowd and fair priced drinks. The bartenders are the usual super to cool for school. But make drinks quick and strong. Cheers!

Kate R.

Yelp
Horrible horrible service. Rudest staff. Will NEVER go back. Save yourself and do not go here. I went to this bar with high hopes and have never been disrespected that bad in my entire life.

Malary J.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place but the beertender was so rude. I asked for the Beryls Citrus IPA and got a very non hoppy malty beer. I told them it didn't fit the description and the beertender told me that I knew more about beer than he did and then I settled for a canned beer. Yes I do know about beer and that certainly was not a citrus IPA and knowing that it wasn't you could have been more nice about it than being a jerk about it. Threw my whole experience off here and there are plenty of other of bars to go to in Denver. I won't be back. Horrible customer service and thanks for making me want to leave a full beer behind because you made it so uncomfortable that I had to leave and go somewhere else.
