Nice little neighborhood park. First time here. Need to come back on Saturday, 10am to 2pm, for the Tallahassee Downtown Market, be interesting to see what they have. Benches for resting, water fountain, nice shade trees. Some trees have lights, so an evening stroll should be nice too...

Ponce de Leon park is the heart of the Park Avenue Chain of Parks, and the location of the historic and thriving downtown market on Saturdays. There are beautiful oaks providing shade, a lovely fountain, and some of Tallahassee biggest events like Winter Fest and Springtime Tallahassee.

It's a gorgeous chain of parks in the historic district. They have seating, water fountains and is animal friendly. However, no wifi, no restrooms and at times, filled with panhandlers.

Yelp
This is a nice pocket park that is one of seven parks in a chain called The Park Avenue Chain of Parks. There is metered street parking on the streets surrounding the park and within a reasonable walking distance. This park is one of the first formal parks in the chain and date back to the 1880s when it was developed for public use. This park is in very good shape and is maintained by the City of Tallahassee Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs. This is not a very big park and is a very thin, long park. It primarily consists of a long brick paved walkway that runs down the center of it, with benches placed along each side to sit. There is a brick circular area in the middle of the park with a bunch of benches that runs along its perimeter. You will also find a nice fountain there that adds some ambiance and tranquility and a time capsule marked with a bronze plaque marker on the ground. This is a straightforward park with what you see is what you get. The shady canopy of live oaks trees that you will find throughout the park and the landscaping are amazing and very picturesque. The park is home to many events including the seasonal Tallahassee Downtown Market on select Saturdays. But it, along with its six sister parks' main value is its chill spot. This park provides visitors a nice place to just sit back and relax. Being that this park is part of a chain of parks, you can bounce back and forward between parks, which is nice. You visit whatever park depending on your need at the time.
